    5th December

hiya all how are you then today? hope everyone is doing good. Another negative test this morning so I think I'm good .Julie is testing her dad later .Really cold out there today but dry. Been cutting some mdf this morning to make worksurfaces in the little spare room .Considering this hobby of madams isn't for another 3 months ....I'm way ahead .but that's me all the time ..I do something ..it needs doing ..if that makes sense .I hate cutting mdf ,I always wear a mask for it nowadays .She is already planning the renovation and refurbishment of the hoose...and more ..

hiya ppqp ..how are you then? what happened to the telly?is it working again ?Im struggling to find book to read …on my kindle I think I've got about 120books ,and yet I struggle ...finally found one .And yes even though Ive got them on my kindle ,old fashioned me prefers page turning. First time i was in the highlander was may 78 I think .I also remember a beer that you could get in bottles ...Empire beer ..it was the only time I ever saw it …after that it was Labatts .hope you have a good day ...back to work tomorrow ? a new spring in yuor step .

hiya teegee, hows you then? all good I hope .yep I'm getting her all set up ...she had a tool list this morning of what she needs ..we have got about 95% of it ..well done on the present wrapping ...yep that's you ..you have done your bit now ...take care .

hiya Lav ..firstly ,well done on the craft fair ….that is superb. Sounds like you did ace ..did yb and his sidekick on the next stall solve the criminal issues of the yoosa?have a great day..

big shout to everyone else ..16387109678665011632605564999266.jpg

    MAE ALL...

Mick...thanks kicking off the new thread. Glad everyone continues to be negative. Thanks for sending the blast of cold air, it was 6F feeling like -4F, at least there's no wind. Madam may start her project before she retires, such a cute house. Had to google MDF though, I can understand why you'd wear a mask. Turned the tv on this morning and still nothing. Went to the website and it said YAY there are no outages. WTH. So I unplugged the cable and power, plugged them back in and poof it worked. Probably could have done that last night. I'm a page turner too, never did get into the kindle.

Hope everyone is having a good day.....:smile:PPQP

      Mae all -

Lav, congrats!!! I had a feeling... didn't I tell you? Your stuff is so wonderful, and carries such a positive vibe with it... the gift that keeps on giving. I wear my sweatshirt every.single.morning... . Now, Take a rest will ya!?

Mick, so glad that all is working out for the gift, and all fun stuff to do. What page-turner did you find to read? Just recemtly I heard about Robert Louis Stevenson seeing his wife through a Parisian restaurant window and falling in love , and their long beautiful life of love together. At least that was what I was told. I think that biography might be my Xmas present to myself....

PPQ, ah yes, the unplug and plug in effect. Well, at least you didn't call a service person to do the same thing and have to pay for it!! Hope your weather becomes easier to deal, with - but I guess it is December now... though these first 5 days flew by!! Good luck on next week - hoping all will continue to go well...

Hello to QW, Det, Pauly and else who stop by... cheers to all -

Enjoy the growing light of the moon, lighting our way to the Solstice...

        Re: 5th December

        Good evening friends,

Just so you know I unplugged the coffeemaker today & plugged it back in to make it work, haha! I’m so used to computers & having to reboot them when issues pop up I figure it works for everything else, haha! Had a quiet day although i’m getting text messages from people possibly wanting to order more embroidered stuff which is nice. I really don’t want too much to do before the holidays, it gets too crazy.
I made a turkey meatloaf, vegan mac & cheeze & roasted a pan of carrots tonight, yum

Mick, love the doll house, looks like a good one! Julie can have a lot of fun with it I’m sure.
I’m happy the tests are coming back negative for all of you. Hope the weather isn’t too bad.

PQ, keeping my fingers crossed about your weather as well. Snow is not bad but if there’s ice underneath it’s a problem.
Our TV does the same thing & we’ve learned to unplug & reset the system, annoying but easily fixed. I hope you have a good night!

Hello to Cyn, hope you’re taking it a little easy for a change, haha! I know I’m not real good at doing nothing either - if that makes sense. I like to keep my mind engaged in something most of the time.

        Det & Pauly, what’s up?

Hello to Sam, PIe & QW.

        Have a nice night all!

hiya all...how are we then today? all good ?eggzellent. just been out and filled up with fuel ..Its raining here ,and we have a storm coming tonight ..Storm Barra Severe weather warning for UK as Storm Barra set to arrive on Tuesday | Extreme weather | The Guardian

Isnt it strange how a lot of electrical/electronic things work as per normal after being unplugged and restarted?

Lav you unplugged the coffee maker ? you mean Bill? well done you on getting all those orders. Yes ,thankfully tests are still coming back as neg ..the omicron virus has doubled in figures in a day here ...though there have been no deaths etc either here or in SA from whence it is supposed to have come . Yes Julie is well impressed though I cant see her waiting till she retires to start it ...hope you have a good day.

hiya tee gee how are you then today? All good hopefully ..Yes buy yourself that book .Reading is so cathartic ,thought provoking ,and is a means of escapism too dependant on what you are reading .I am reading a Roman fiction book .its good because it is a mixture of fact and real place names and fictional characters .you take it easy and have a nice day .

hiya ppqp pauly qw sam det hope you are all well .

            MAE ALL...

Not much happening here. No snow overnight so didn't have to clean off the car. Temps are still cold but there's no wind so no windchill.

TG...Robert Louis Stevenson's biography sounds like a great Christmas gift to yourself. I don't really mind the cold as long as we've got sunshine, which we have plenty of today.

Lav...that's funny about the coffee maker. Don't get overwhelmed with Christmas orders, you don't need that.

Mick...not another storm. You just can't catch a break. Omicrom numbers going up here too and like you no deaths. I'm sure Julie will be starting on her project sooner rather than later. Stay safe.

Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

              Greetings friends,

Went to lunch with old friends today, had a nice time.
65 degrees, no sun & very windy here - weird. Cold tomorrow & snow expected up to 1” on Wednesday then it warms up again. I call that whiplash weather, haha!

Mick, in this house if you want coffee you make it yourself, LOL
Delivered an embroidery job today & got an order for 5 more pillows. I will be busy I guess.
One of my friends told me today about a young man in his 40’s, has been in ICU on a ventilator for a month & they haven’t been able to wean him off. So he goes to the OR tomorrow to have a tracheostomy done, poor guy. He was fully vaccinated & had a booster shot & still got that sick. His lungs are absolutely wrecked. How sad is that? We still need to be very careful & mask up when out in crowds & around lots of people.

PQ, the problem with the coffeemaker was the user…… he tends to push too many buttons too fast & doesn’t pay attention to what he’s doing, LOl
Glad you skipped the snow for now, who needs it anyway?

Cyn, hope you’re OK & not getting any more snow this week.

Det & Pauly, check in folks so we know you’re OK

Hello to Sam, Pie & QW!

Have a nice night all. I have to go thru my piles of fabric to see if I have what I need for these 5 pillows.

And good afternoon everyone how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing well L2 stop it is 14:30, Pitch Black almost and it is blowing a serious Hooley. We are in this storm Barra. It is supposed to last for the next couple of days. Car is in the garage getting fixed the cambelt needs changing so that's another brand broken off the money tree!

Hiya lav how are you then? Looking at your last post it seems like your weather is as crazy as ours! Congratulations on getting new orders you will soon be working from pillow to post haha Yes my jacket is being got! I hope the young lad in his forties makes it you are right we do need to mask up and be careful full stop are your politicians as stupid as ours? They don't want to spoil Christmas they have said yes mask up but don't get too close to people and don't kiss them. I take it they are all all going to be drinking tea as opposed to alcohol yeah right. You could make a fashion statement with the pillows. Call them harlequin pillows and make them out of any old pieces of material you have just like patchwork quilts used to be stay safe keep warm

Hiya ppqp yes another storm as we speak it is absolutely battering down. You would not believe it is only 14:30 hope all is well over there

                I will take a p16388879323616776314057257197794.jpgicture....

                  Mae all -

Mick, that is a seriously ominous cloud. So sorry that you are being hit with these bad storms... not fair!

PPQ, your weather sounds as wacky as Lav and mine seem to be - snow, rain, and the thermometer going up and down. It's okay by me - at least not terribly cold... stay warm and keep plugging and unplugging!

Lav, wow you are the star of embroidery projects - now the word is out! I hope you can find some balance in all this that feels good to you. Decembers tend to be so busy...

I hope there's not too much snow tomorrow morning; I'll be driving an hour-plus to an appointment with a lawyer in Westchester County, NY. I'm hoping to either get all my questions answered and finish up the last estate court documents myself, or hand it all over to her to finish. It will be good to figure that out and stop worrying about it. Please send good vibes!

Hello Det, are you all healed? Hoping so... Pauly, hope things are good for you and the kids...

Hello to QW, and all who drop by...

                    MAE ALL...

TG...sending good vibes to you and the universe. I bet it will feel good to get all that dealt with. Hopefully that's the last of the estate business. It really warmed up today but freezing rain and snow on the way tonight. Our weather does seem to be mirroring each other.

Mick...that looks ominous. I like days like that if I don't have to go anywhere. Sorry it's going to hang around for a couple of days. I don't know who goes more often, you to the dentist or the car to the garage. That money tree must be getting pretty bare by now.

Lav...getting the whiplash weather here too. Snow tonight and then warming up and that includes the weekend for a change. It's nice to be a able to get out with friends again. I though have not ventured into a restaurant yet. Just staying put for now. Wow, can't believe the young man got so sick after all his vaccinations. You just never know. I hope the tracheostomy went ok. That is so sad. I'm sure you've got lots of material but I do like Mick's suggestion. LOL

Shout out to Pi, Sam, Det, QW and Pauly. Have a good night all.....:smile:PPQP

                      Re: 5th December

                      Good evening friends,

Well our snow event for Wednesday has been downgraded to flurries ~ maybe, Lol
I did go out to get fabrics I needed today. It’s actually easier selling at the craft fairs where they just buy what you have there. It’s the people who text & email you wanting very specific fabrics & colors that kind of throw a wrench in the works, haha. No big deal, it will all get done. Made a pot of my favorite Tuscan white bean soup with lots of veggies today, yum.

Mick, sorry about the storm system. I hate when they hang around for several days, ugh. Stay safe & don’t go on the roof or anything dumb like that

PQ, the place where we go to lunch feels very safe or we definitely wouldn’t go. I always feel uplifted after meeting with my old friends, we understand each other completely.
I really don’t think Mick’s harlequin pillow would be good enough for the picky buyers but it does sound interesting. Maybe I’ll do something like that for the kids.

Det & Pauly, check in kids, we haven’t heard from either of you lately.

Hello to Sam & Pie & QW.

Time to get some pillow work done.
                      Be well everyone.

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Welcome to a wet and windy Pennine range currently in progress here. Up some of the weather so far has been really brutal, a lot of places flooded winds up to 86 mph. Don't know when it's supposed to finish but hopefully soon. I have to go and pick my car up in a little while, it is now finished gone not as much as I thought I would have to break off the money tree a mere 290 of good queen Elizabeth pounds. This country is currently in Uproar over not the accusations of Parliament having a party last year, but also there was footage taken of it. These are the assholes that made the rules that we had to abide by , even to the extent that people could not go to funerals of relatives because of their guidelines they couldn't mix they couldn't see sick relatives and at the same time these scumbags were not only groping each other but having parties and laughing about it at the same time. I have never seen people so incensed for a long time. They can put out as many guidelines as they want from now on nobody will give a rats about what they say. We have already decided we will do what we consider is safe and necessary not what these Jokers think and I use the word joker not in a descriptive manner but is derogatory as I can possibly make it because it's certainly is not a joke full stop unfortunately there are no opposing parties that have all the bottle gumption our brains to take these lot on. I don't usually get on a political Hobby Horse but believe me these obnoxious self-centred egotistical scumbags of really annoyed me.
Apart from that it has been a pretty good day so far.
Hiya lav..another one I thought of the maybe a bit too late to do it, is patchwork Santa stockings for kids to hang up. You could be as innovative as you wanted with them my little pocket to put the Santa letter in blah blah blah. You sure you don't want an agent? Haha
Hiya ppqp how are you today then? hope all is well at work. If you would like some rain just let me know so we have an excess here at the moment take care have a great day.

Hiya teegee how are you then? did you manage to make your way through the snow or wasn't it that bad? You take care and look after yourself as well

Right folks that's me short and sweet no that's not me that's this post. The rain has eased off to a steady downpour at the moment so I'll go and pick the car up time to try out the waterproof boots and jacket haha take care look after yourself and have a great day

                        have a look at this

                          MAE ALL...

It was bright, sunny and a high of 43F this morning. By 3pm the snow started and at 4:30 drove home in a blizzard. I did think of you TG but I only had 2 blocks to go. LOL

Lav...that's one thing about socializing with people your own age, you don't have to explain anything. I hear you about the picky buyers but I do like his idea of Santa Stockings with a place for the letter. Thoughts for next year. Hope you didn't get clobbered with snow.

Mick...glad you didn't have to break too much off the money tree and I hope the new coat and boots kept you dry. I saw some footage of your storm surge, unbelievable. It's good to know that we're not the only one with idiot politicians, just not good for us. Thanks for the rain but I think we're into snow mode now.

Shout out to Pi, Det, Sam, QW, TG and Pauly. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                            Good evening friends,

Busy today stitching & food shopping & cooking & whatever…
The snow was a no show, haha & I’m fine with that!!!! Next week the temp goes back up into the 60’s, crazy.

Mick, I read an article yesterday about the cocaine use in the House of Commons. Apparently it’s a pretty popular party drug for the members there WTH?? They found evidence of cocaine everywhere in teh building, Lol
Sorry about your continued nasty weather, geez. I hope you were able to pick up your car safely. The Santa stocking idea sounds interesting but it will have to wait until next year I’m afraid. Goodidea, thanks.

PQ, glad you got home safely, blizzard driving is not fun.
I was kind of looking. Forward to a dusting of snow today but the universe had other plans.

Cyn, hope you are doing OK!

                              Mae all -

This is a short post... I am worn out from 2 hours of travel (each way) to see the lawyer. I like her, she is compassionate, helpful, and smart. End of the session I asked her to finish up the accounting and submit it to the court. It will cost me in $$, but it may just save my mind - let's hope. After living with this "sword of Damocles" over my head for so long, I am not sure how I feel, but elated is one word in the mix!

Lav and PQ, we got a dusting here late in the day - I was so grateful to have clear weather to drive in...
Mick, so sorry about the continuing storm - brutal. I hope you stayed dry and warm going to pick up your car...

Hello to all stopping by... wishing you a good night and a happy day tomorrow...
                              Cheers -
