    Re: Boxing Day Dec 26

    Good evening friends,

I think there may be an end to this tunnel of snot, haha! Just now realized I feel better than I did when I woke up this morning so that’s good.
Made a turkey pot pie for dinner that turned out pretty good

PQ, listening to the weather forecast I see we are in for warming temps & more rain showers. Winter is delayed once again.
Yeah, our Amish friend has 11 kids, 9 boys & 2 girls (I think).all of them except one are married & having kids so the family numbers just keeps increasing. Their youngest daughter appears to be extremely socially awkward, should have been married off years ago. But she’s running her own business of growing succulents in greenhouses on the family farm. They do celebrate Christmas & told us years ago they buy the grandkids packs of chewing gum, haha! Hope your day was easy.

Cyn, that’s so nice you got to see extended family like that.
I hope the snow isn’t too overwhelming this weekend. I’m on the mend so you probably won’t be hearing too much more complaining from me, Lol

Mick, sorry about your car tire. It’s always something. Glad you got to see Amy & her boyfriend.
Keep up with the exercise, it always helps. I have to get back to mine now that this cold is beginning to leave me.

Hello to Pauly & Det, Sam & Pie & everyone.

    Have a nice night all!

      MAE ALL…

Will try this again! Cold again today but it was sunny. Didn’t really matter as I didn’t go anywhere. Boss texted this afternoon that he was at the community centre and would go in again tomorrow so I don’t have to. Replied and said stay warm, see you on Tuesday. He replied sounds good. Later I thought there is still 4 more days of closure and felt guilty about not offering to go in over the weekend. Almost texted him back and then thought no, he’s getting paid the big bucks and he can deal with it. LOL

TG…what a nice reunion for you I’m sure it warmed your heart. Ah, you have some apartments already picked out. Hope your proof of income comes soon and one of your choices works out. Hope you don’t get clobbered with snow and glad you remembered the long underwear. Been keeping up with the news as “they” may decide to do at home learning for the kids in January. That will affect our childcare staff. If I thought I was in a “wait and see” state before it’s extreme now.

Mick…bummer about the car tire, seems it’s just one thing after another for you. Glad you were able to see Amy. Some of the provinces are reducing isolation times over here but not Alberta yet. We shall see. Our provincial government isn’t doing anything till they see what happens with everyone else. Status quo since the start of all this. Glad the exercise are helping and yes you should definitely keep it up.

Lav…YAY, isn’t it funny when you all of a sudden realize you’re feeling better! I often think how long have I been feeling better anyways? LOL Wow, I thought coming from a family of 8 kids was a lot. Packs of chewing gum, why haven’t I thought of that. LOL

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all….:smile:PPQP

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope everyone is well. just been to the garage and yes just my luck the punctured tyre is not repairable so there we go 70 of good queen Bess pounds to buy a new one. It's raining here quite heavily. Julie went to work this morning with a big Happy smile not! Both the rabbits are doing well they haven't stopped eating since we came home. I had a savoy cabbage for them my come on and put it on top of a box which I thought was Out of Reach how long was I I went into the garage last night to find both of them stretched out on another box eating said cabbage they had bangs and pushed the boxes so that the cabbage dropped off it and then decided to have a little feast! Fortunately they hadn't eaten much of it it before I got to them.

Hiya ppqp how are you today then? hope all is well over there with you you. The government this morning has just started setting up 8 emergency hubs for the virus full stop very similar to the nightingale hospitals that was set up previously that nobody went into! Yes the exercise is helping, I can can you feel the difference. They reckon this New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are going to be the mildest here for a long long time I'm how ever immediately afterwards it is going to drop drastically. So I need to empty all the water off the van. Hope you have a good day day take care

Hiya lav and how are you today? Glad you are getting near to the end of the tunnel of snot it's not much fun full stop wow that's some Christmas present chewing gum yippee couldn't think of anything better to pull my teeth out. Yes I intend to get into a lot more exercise although I need to watch what I actually do take care and look after yourself

Hiya teegee hope things are ok with you.

Hiya pauly hope all is good with you too

          Mae all -

Sounds like everyone is hanging in there, and not too much drama... glad to see...
I turned in the rental application - I had questions, so I went into the office and literally finished it in the lobby (with wifi supplied from my phone hotspot ) So we'll see - the agent suggested that I apply without waiting, as the apartments go quickly. I can update my profile when I get the new 1099 form. I was a little shaky about it all... putting the application in makes everything feel very "real" in a different way...

Mick, seriously, the rabbits jiggled the boxes until the cabbage fell? That's a new one! Clever bunnies!!! Sorry to hear about your tyre - but glad that nothing bad happened while you were driving on it. Good luck with all the Covid nuttiness... same over here... I sometimes wonder if this is the new normal... I sincerely hope not... take care and enjoy the exercise...

PPQ, you made the right call - the boss is making the big bucks!i hope your weekend warms up for you - such a long cold spell!

Lav, so glad to hear that you are feeling better... that bug seemed to pack a punch - hopefully that will be the end of sickness for the winter!

Pauly, how are you and the kids feeling? Doing okay? Hope so.

Det and QW and anyone else dropping by- wishing you all well -

            Good evening friends,

Still did much of nothing today but I do feel a little better. Wow, this virus was a big one, whatever it was. Not to sound like an idiot but I’m not used to being sick, haha. Guess my turn caught up with me or something. Still in the 50’s & damp here, weird weather.

PQ, it is shocking to suddenly realize you feel better than you did the previous night, Lol
Your boss sounds like a gentleman, let him take over the building checks especially with the heating system issues. I never go out for NYE, staying home & healthy is my plan

Mick, your rabbits behave like my brother’s twins did when they were young, haha. They were partners in crime, for sure.
Feel safer with a new tire on your car, I would.

Cyn, that’s exciting you may have a new place already. I’m sure it must feel weird after all you’ve been thru but finally settling in somewhere will be good for you
You’ve been living out of your car & moving around so much this past year. Yep, I feel this virus I have should count as enough for this winter season!!!

Hello to Pauly & Det. Hope you are both well.
Hello to Sam & PIe & everyone.

            Have a nice night everyone!

hiya everyone ,how are we today then? hope all is well with you. Was rabbit sitting Jeeves till 1 this morning ...after his pigging out episode, his stomach wouldn't take it ....so I knew he wasnt good ..medicated syringed water into him massaged his tummy ...and at about 1 this morning he started taking hay again.Windy day over here ,but dry .

hiya Lav ,how are you feeling? glad you are on the mend a bit more ...the trouble is there are so many viruses jotting around its unreal ..are you doing anything for the new year?all the best .

hiya teegee ..hows you ?yep thats exactly what they did ..fine little party when I caught them...Like you I hope this isnt the new normal..not a lot normal about it .All the best to you.

Here is one to think about ...can yuo recall why we all ended up here?yep thats right ...drink .we all used booze as a coping mechanism ,a means of escape ..and yet over the last 2 years we have ..no names as a group dealt with the following ..

Covid ,restrictions family getting it ,frustration at the lack of direction, mortality ,losing loved ones ,family illnesses, work issues ,lack of money and job ,stress ,...and yet we are here ....you all deserve a big well done ...a brilliant effort ..

all that remains is to wish you all the best

21 has gone lets start anew,
              forward we go into 22
stay strong stay safe ,positive wins .

                MAE ALL...

Last day of deepfreeze and then a heatwave for the weekend. Unfortunately it's just a 2 day event and then back to the deepfreeze for the next 2 weeks. I really enjoyed the long fall we had but I'll give it up if we don't have to go through this.

Mick...not surprised Jeeves had an upset tummy. You'll have to think twice about where you put the cabbage. You are so right as I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 2 years without the support of this group. Even though I spent a lot of time by myself I never felt alone.

TG...wow, big step turning in the rental agreement. Good for you. I think I get what you mean by "real" in a different way and that's ok.

Lav...you don't sound like an idiot, I'm not used to being sick either. I'll take your weird weather if you don't want it. Home and healthy is plan for tonight too.

Doing ribs & rice for dinner tonight. Was going to do pork tenderloin but it seemed like too much work. Actually if I knew how to butterfly it I still might have. Shout out to the rest of the gang....have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                    Re: Boxing Day Dec 26

                    Greetings friends!

Such a dark, dull & damp day to end a crappy year - fitting I guess.
Finally left the house for the first time in a week today, had to pick up a Rx at the drug store. Then went on to the food market to pick up the fixings for a traditional pork & sauerkraut dinner for New Years day. Very exciting day haha!

Mick, glad Jeeves is feeling better. He really needs to change his piggy ways, Lol
This certainly has been a trying year for everyone of us. We have all come through in one piece, we’re lucky.

PQ, enjoy your heat wave as long as it lasts. I think we have one dayof cold temps coming up then it gets warmish again. The real winter will get here sooner or later I’m sure.

                    Cyn, hope you are well!

Pauly & Det, Sam & PIe & everyone hope you are well.

Wishing us all a Happy & Healthy New Year & a good night

Happy New Year everyone...hoping we all have a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Lav...those dark, dull & damp day's can be very depressing, kinda goes with 2021...out with the old on with the new. You'll need 2 extra place settings, pork & sauerkraut dinner sounds great. Your weather forecast certainly sounds better than mine.

Pauly...sounds like you and Jeeves suffer from the same malaise....stay away from the cabbage. LOL I had the same bedtime as you but the only difference was I didn't get woken up by fireworks. Hope you have a great day.

Mick...my resolution was to not make a resolution so I'm good. Now I would have watched the fireworks if I could have done it from my bed. My mother had a great recipe for pork tenderloin. My nephew made it after my sister passed away and I've been craving it ever since. I will let you know how it goes.

                            Wishing everyone a great day....:smile:PPQP

                              Happy 2022 friends!

Lord I hope this year is a much better year for all!! Enough is enough, right?
Still damp & drizzly here again, better than snow I guess. We packed up Christmas & put it all away today. Poof & it was gone, haha!!

Hope your day improved Pauly. Too much raw food puts me in a bad way too, Lol

I dropped into bed exactly at midnight, couldn’t stay up a minute longer, oh well. The pork & sauerkraut turned out nice, you should have been here Lol

PQ, I think we may be seeing some sun tomorrow. It would be nice after all these dark days, we’ll see. It does get depressing but I fight that by turning all the lights on like I own the place haha!
No resolutions for me either. I do plan to keep up with the exercise & eating plan I’ve had going for several months.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

                                Mae all -

So nice to see you! And thanks for the start-up poem for the year, Mick. Our group is lucky to have our own poet-laureate!

1 degree F here now, going to -2 (I know, that's a heat wave for you, PQ!). Blowing like crazy and we had some snow - but hey, it's winter...one must expect it. Last evening I went with my brother and SIL to a dinner that they had "folded" me into. I didn't really want to go, but my brother said that he wouldn't go unless I went... so... all was well, it was a nice (small) group.

Mick, glad you were able to get Jeeves over his tummy troubles. Wow, watching the fireworks over the moors from your bed... that's a pretty wonderful way to start the year. I was in bed and asleep before they started here.

Lav, so glad to hear that you are still doing better. And you can set another place for me... yum. Enjoy your traditional food...

Pauly, good to hear how you're doing - sorry about the reaction to raw greens... happens to me too... now I just steam spinach a bit and call it my green... wishing your household health in this new year.

PQ, I feel lucky to have the Instant Pot for my cooking... I just throw the food in and turn it on. Hmmm, you are making me hungry for sweet potatoes and pork roast.... it's a little hard not having control over the menu, but my family is so sweet to take me in and feed me...

Hello to Det and QW, Sam, Pie and all else stopping by... hope to "see" you in the New Year...
                                Happy 2022 to all - ❤️
