    Re: Feb 6

    Greetings friends,

Enjoying the warmup here although I just heard that Saturday’s temp will be near 60 then we have a 40% chance of snow Sunday. WTF?? The Philly news stations are calling it ‘weather whiplash’, haha!!
Last night I used the OTC lubricant eye drops I was given & man did they ever make a difference. I can actually read today for the first time in months. I will be going back for more testing tomorrow, not sure what all that involves. At least I can see better today.

PQ, let me put it this way, it’s your choice. You can continue smoking or you can quit now & avoid being oxygen dependent for the rets of your life. You don’t want that, trust me.
Quitting is fu*king hard, I know but you can do it!!! It’s only a matter of time before other problems crop up related to smoking. Smoking is also related to cataract growth, circulation problems, BP problems, you get the picture. Start thinking about the money you will save & what you can save for. I spent my savings on spoiling grandkids, LOL I posted on Quitnet for a long time, got lots of support from other quitters, just like we get here. Quitnet is no longer functional but theres a new one: Quitnet
Give it a try, you won’t be sorry. You can do this
There’s no arguing that getting old really sucks!

Mick, glad to hear you’re making progress with your diet choices. It’s a real pain in the neck but feeling good is more important. I’ve learned to live just fine without a number of foods that were on my No list.
I need to get outside soon & give the nesting boxes a good cleaning too, they get pretty gross.

Hello to Cyn, hope you are well!

Det & Pauly, hello to you.

Wishing everyone a nice night. I need to go hop on my stationary bike & ride to nowhere for the next 30 minutes

    Lav

      Mae all -

Mick, glad that at least you have a few things on your ‘yes’ list! It really is a pain in the neck to go through all the searching...but on the end, you will have your “safe go to” foods, and life will be simpler and less painful... good luck. I agree with PPQ that handing over al the roof cleaning, etc. would be a fine idea... leaves you more time to get up to spead with your new toy . The rabbits sound as if they should be very grateful for their clean digs and generous helping of hay! Take care, and wishing you good food-hinting success...

PPQ, what an absolutely great plan on going smoke-free!! Sending huge amounts of support and Light to send you on your smoke-free way... you’ve got this! Hope all goes smoothly with whatever doctors you end up seeing/talking to.

Lav, i remember you talking about quitting smoking... you really took the bull by the horns and have stayed steady ever since. You are truly a model. I’m so glad that you found some relief for your eyes... but that eye “stroke” sounds pretty scary. How on earth have you been able to do al the embroidery with a blurry eye? I hope it all gets straightened out before you have to do the stuff for April! It has been so nice outside lately that I have been walking outside - love the sunshine. But the last 2 days started getting windy, and it will be worse the next couple of days, so i will go back to the bike or elliptical machine for a bit. Have really appreciated the sunshine, though.

Det, sending lots of good “coping” energy... so sorry you have to go through this... maybe some day you will see a silver lining in it all. In the meantime, sending you light and strength to get up on a higher vibe and ride it out...

Pauly, what’s doing? Are you at the same salon? Anybody acting crazy? I hope your clients are coming back, now that it seems the worst is over (this time, anyway!)

Sending everyone the lovely light of the growing moon... it’s still the lunar new year for a few days... i hope we can embrace the new energy...

Good morning all and how are we today then? Hope everyone is well well. Apologies for any punctuation errors grammatical errors or anything like that I am doing this on my phone as this morning I am off to the animal rescue place. I've got a lot of stuff to take down for their charity, and considering both my rabbits came from them the person in charge is a very good personal friend I said I would go down and spend the day there. So the car is now loaded, and I am ready for the off. Again today issues with the stomach it is weird because one minute it's really knotting up and the next it easies off. So I don't know what it is full stop it feels ok at the moment and I have just had a bacon sandwich on white bread. Up and get first thing this morning a cup of tea sent it spiralling full stop as you say we will get there eventually. Julie seems to think it is a bug I've picked up I don't know we shall see

Hello teegee how are you today then? hope everything is well with you. Yes the guy came round this morning and give me a price for cleaning out the gutters cleaning the moss of the roof cleaning the lower gutters and the front and back fascias and also the conservatory roof and UPVC. In reality not bad price for a Scotsman horrific! Hope things are better with you and life is starting to settle down. Take care

Hiya ppqp how are you today then? Hope all is well yes I can Echo the sentiments throughout you it is hard to stop smoking but honestly it is worth it in the long run. It's a long time since I smoked I can't even remember I do recall however, when I was at work they were dishing out nicotine patches for free to prisoners and not to staff so I went to my local doctor for patches and he would not give me any. We had a discussion in which I refused to leave his office, and in the end he gave me 6 weeks worth of patches which were a real pain to light! Trust me it is hard but honestly well worth it we are here for you

Hiya lav how are you today then? Hope all is well well. Was playing in the greenhouse earlier on but another couple of plants yesterday once they mature in the garden they should look good. One of them is a hypericum commonly called rose of Sharon with bright yellow flowers and the other one I can't remember the name of it however it has got the same sort of flowers as Hawthorne small white with pink tinged outers hope your eyes get sorted out. Did I tell you Julie has got an eye issue question mark she has got blepharitis or something like that she gets prescription eyedrops to put in morning and night and it certainly helps her a lot . Take care and have a great day

Right folks that's me off to the animal centre to play with the rabbits take care and have a great day

          Good evening friends,

Well these’s some good news - the eye doc looked at scans today7 didn’t find any blood vessel damage in my eye, yay. She seems to think the corneal scar may have come from a stye/herpes infection I had back in December. I haven’t had a stye since high school when I learned the importance of washing your hands & keeping them away from your face. But something started on my upper eyelid in December & I just treated it with warm soaks, regular home care stuff & it went away. I’ll be seeing a corneal specialist next Tuesday & see what he has to say. Apparently there may be some other treatments available - we shall see

Cyn, when I quit smoking I grasped on to the NOPE model - Not One Puff Ever!
It worked along with some nicotine replacement products. I had quit so many times in the past but always fell for that ‘just one won’t hurt’ thing. One does hurt, it always did. I know PQ can master quitting too we still have the nice weather here too & now it’s supposed to snow on Sunday after being 60 degrees Friday & Saturday, crazy. Stick to the stationary bike, it’s good for you!

Mick, hope your day was good at the animal rescue. I make dog beds out of leftover fabrics & donate them to the rescues.
We have a rose of Sharon we planted right after moving in. It had gotten quite big so it had a huge hair cut last summer hope it grows back OK. Ours blooms light purple, very pretty.
I remember you talking about Julie’s eye issue, glad she has it under control. Both of my eye are very dry all of a sudden so the drops are helping so far.

Hello to PQ, hope your day was good. We’re all here for you

Pauly, Det, Sam & everyone - hello.

Time to get in my bike. Have a nice night all!

            Mae all,

Mick, sorry that the tummy troubles are keeping on. Could be a bug, or IBS, or who knows what - you will figure it out eventually, but it does take time and patience. Not so easy when you're not feeling well. Congrats on your past nicotine quit as well! i never got into smoking, but I do know it is incredibly hard to quit... my sister-in-law ended up going to hypnosis, and that finally worked. I hope you had a good day with the rescue bunnies... so glad these organizations exist. All of my dogs have been rescues...

Lav, those are lucky rescue dogs to get a bed from you! That's a wonderful idea. I'm thinking that eventually I might volunteer at a rescue organization... but not yet. Maybe next year. we"ll see - I'm a long way off from getting another pup. Glad to hear that the doc thinks your eye did not have a blood vessel/pressure issue. Dry eye can be really trying - I hope they can find some help for you. We need your eyes! Hang in there, at least these snows are coming toward the end of the season... poor east coast folks... they have really had a helping this winter.

PPQ- I hope that your health and day is going all okay... tomorrow is TGIF, so I hope you'll be headed for a light work day.

Well, I think I am starting to find a rhythm for my days, maybe. Still a few pics to put up, and must get a handle on my little laundry area and finish up the bedroom, but getting close. I did pick up some work for the festival, so that is some income. Next I must finish up my "Teachable" online course and get that out into the world and see if I can make a go of it there. I'm nervous, but nothing ventured, nothing gained...

            Hello to all dropping by...
Hoping everyone has a good night's sleep, and wakes feeling refreshed and well -- the stars will watch over us --

              MAE ALL...

Thanks for all the support friends, it's really appreciated. I've always been told with COPD and smoking I could end up on oxygen but it never seemed "real"? Well it feels "real" now. That Dr. scared the hell out of me. Would that be the equivalent of tough love? This morning just flew by at work but the afternoon slowed right down. I think I would prefer it the other way around. LOL

Mick...I'm sure you had a great day at the animal rescue and that your presence was greatly appreciated. Sorry you're still going through the tummy issues, mine seem to have ended. Any chance your body could be trying to pass a stone? When I talked to my endoscopy doctor she totally understood about the increase in smoking during the shutdown over covid. She told me that she had a patient in a similar situation and she quit smoking. Said to her she realize how easy it would be. The doc said well that's got to be the first time I've ever heard that. LOL

Lav...great news on the eye. I've only ever had one sty but used to get cold sores every winter. That's also related to herpes some how. I like the NOPE model. I will remember that. Our weather has been so warm lately that when you step onto the hockey rink your skate just sinks. Although temps are cooling tonight I don't think it's going to be enough to save the ice for the schools winter carnival next week. We shall see.

TG...I tried hypnosis early on when I was thinking of quitting but to be honest I was trying to quit for my ex-husband not for myself, that will never work. When I wasn't working I missed the TGIF feeling. The new one that's going around work is on Thursday we chant "It's Friday Eve", makes it feel festive. LOL Don't you go getting overloaded with the festival. Good luck with the "teachable" online course and let us know when you launch it.

Hope the rest of the gang checks in and knows we're thinking of you. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope everyone is well. I had a brilliant day yesterday I could easily have come home with another 6 rabbits! They are absolutely gorgeous. But not as nice as these two . Stomach is a lot better today day it is very strange it is still cramping up up with that mad feeling of needing the toilet but it isn't. I don't know what it is what it has been or what the allergy is but I am writing every single thing down really interesting reading if I bury it for some Future generation to dig up haha.

Hiya lav firstly really glad about your eye. That is fantastic I remember as a kid when we had styes in the eye my mum used to bathe them with cold tea bags. Best of luck next week full stop the rose of Sharon will come back irrespective the depth of haircut you have given it they are very Hardy full stop if it is light purple that means there is a good bit of copper in the soil. I have quite a few plants to put out now and believe me it is a test not to take care and have a good weekend

Hiya teegee how are you today then question mark hope all is well and you're part of the world. Yes I think it is a bug I initially thought IBS as well but Julie says no and she should know she has it. Yes stopping smoking was probably one of the things that saved my life when it went pear-shaped with my stroke hey give me the strength to fight back. I used to work at a bird of prey rescue centre when I left the prison service it was absolutely brilliant but unfortunately they move premises too far away from me. Hypnosis and acupuncture never work for me hypnosis was a waste of time I was so stubborn that I thought I will fight this and prove them wrong complete waste of money. Don't be now this get out there and show the world how good you are. care look after yourself

Hiya ppqp how are you today then? You are welcome to the support that are quite a view of Us have been there. It is probably the best move you can make for your health full stop no one can tell you you need to make the decision yourself. You did it with alcohol so you know you have got the willpower. Yes it is a real pig when you end up with a stye. Glad your tummy issues I've settled down hope mine follow suit rapidly.

Hello everyone else hope you are doing well.

Mae everybody, Mick sorry about the stomach problems, it's not fun at all and I quit eating most wheat products as an experiment and for me it helped, now if I have pasta or regular bread I'm in pain with trapped gas all night long, eeks! PQ it's HARD to quit smoking,I vape now(which is probably worse but smells better and is more expensive) but still have my one cigarette in the morning so I feel your pain but yea you don't wanna end up on oxygen or something worse,I know you can do it! Cyn,I'm inching my way out of that salon, the lady who bought it is absolutely crazy as I've mentioned in the past,I dunno if it's cuz she has no experience with salons(she was a cocktail waitress on the strip before) an al or other drug problem or if it's a cultural thing but she almost seems to get high firing people,it's really weird like a power trip for her,meh who knows but she's single handed killed her own business, she just fired 2 girls last week and called Kellie that night almost giddy and kell said it gave her the creeps especially how she acts like people are disposable, Lav oof sorry about the eye hope it's coming along better now,Det sorry to hear of the trouble with the step daughter,I don't think I could ever be in a relationship with someone who has kids,I only like the ones I'm related to hahaha! Keep your head up,much love to all and wishes for a great BF Fryday!
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

                      Good evening friends,

We had a great 62 degree sunny day - felt like spring even though we’re to get snow on Sunday, Lol
I have been roped into picking up the oldest grandson from school for the rest of the school year, except on Tuesdays & that started today. He flat out refuses to ride the school bus & I don’t know why - yet. I’ll get him to spill the beans eventually. It’s a good opportunity to see him & spend a few minutes together

PQ, sounds like your doc has laid down the law. Options are no longer feasible at this point soI would definitely follow orders. The first two weeks are a bi*ch, then it gets easier, I promise
Make a solemn commitment & don’t disappoint yourself. Like with quitting drinking, you’ll have no regrets.
Sounds like skating season has ended, poor kids. Hang in there!

Pauly, great to see you! Have you done any reading about the chemicals in the vape liquids? You may want to drop vaping & just smoke until you’re ready to quit. I’ve read some nasty stuff about that, especially when kids are around, be careful. Sorry the salon is still a mess, the owner sounds like a real doozy!! Just using the moisturizing drops the eye doc gave me has helped a lot with the eye discomfort. My peripheral vision is still very good in the left eye, just blurry central vision right now. I hope it can be fixed butif not I’ll still be fine. Hope the kids are OK.

Mick, I was wondering if you were going to come home with another rabbit or two haha. That’s like me seeing puppies, I want them all.
Better hold off on the planting for a while. I know we have more winter to deal with yet.

Hello to Cyn, hope you are well.
Hello to Det, hope yuor home is peaceful now.

                      Have a nice night all!

                        Mae all,

Doing fine here, had a productive day and then read a portion of a really good book early in the evening... it's a bit scary, and last night I read too late and was too upset to sleep! So got my reading in earlier tonight. Not a lot of sleep last night, so will be turning in shortly.

PPQ, well sometimes our bodies speak very loudly... and it's a good thing to listen! Good luck with everything - I know you want the best for yourself.

Pauly, yay for Fridays when you post! Yes, the vape thing is pretty scary, check it out. Sounds like the manager of the salon has some personality issues... I hope you and Kell can survive her! It would be nice for you to have a calm workplace... I'll keep crossing fingers. Hope all are well in you house...

Mick, glad that the rabbit time was good, and that you are sticking with your lovelies... they deserve to be the "Best of...". Hoping that you will take the worker's bid for the stuff on the house... this weather doesn't sound like anytime to be out working on a house! Sending good wishes for you to get over whatever bug this is!

Lav, wow, there must be something up for your grandson to make that request. Nice that you are able to comply... yes, you will get some great one-on-one time with him, so special.

I am pretty sleepy, so excuse me for a short post, but I am wishing all well - enjoy the weekend all --

White beans were used for positive votes, and for negative votes, black beans or other dark-colored beans were used. These votes were cast in secret, so if someone knocked over the beans in the jar—whether by accident or intentionally—they “spilled the beans” and revealed the results of the votes prematurely.

62 again today & now the temp has dropped into the 40’s. I still don’t believe it’s going to snow overnight but who knows.
Grandson is here sitting with a laptop with his headphones on, no conversations so far, haha. We did just take him out for dinner so I didn’t have to cook, nice
He will be picked up at 8 am for his 2nd covid shot, finally.

Cyn, I’ve been watching the moon change for a few days & I think it’s already messing up my sleep, geez. What does it take to get a decent night’s sleep at this age anyway? Haha.
Hope the sleep fairy can make it to both of us tonight.

Mick, another damp day? What else is new? You can save your energy for good weather detecting & have more fun
Yep, I believe there is a bullying problem on the school bus & my older grandson is like his father - basically non-confrontational. We had to teach our kid how stand up for himself when he was the same age. I figure it’s the parent’s job to do that, not mine. We’ll see what happens. Now my younger grandson will beat the crap out of anyone that gets in his face, Lol.
I always remember the references to ‘bean counters’ when i was a kid but didn’t know the source, how about that??

Hello to PQ, hope all is well with you!

Hello to Pauly, Det, Sam & anyone dropping by tonight.
                            Have a nice night all.

                            Lav
