    Re: Feb 27

    Mae all -
thanks for the good wishes... have all my travel plans set for next week... now just trying to get all things done before that...

i think we all feel strange, these terrible things going on... not sure what to do but support those supporting the victims.

I seem to be endlessly tired, but hopefully will get a few things "done and dusted" before moving on next Tuesday the 8th...

Sending love and support to all - take care -

hiya all ..how are we then today? hope all is well, thought I would post early this morning .....still not got any update on the care for Julies dad yet ..the company that sounded good cannnot provide ..it is not their cachement area apparently ...he lives in no mans land between Rochdale and Oldham ,and neither boroughs claim responsibilty ..unless you are paying them money !!we will keep going ,however I can see it taking a toll on Julie .The social system over here is a crock of shi. when you are in it over here .Not raining here today in fact it looks quite bright ...need to move the van etc ..the guys are coming to clean the roof and guttering today .

hiya teegee, how are you then today?keep your chin up..unfortunately ,there is not a lot we can do in the Ukraine, save help the victims when we can .hope you are getting over your tiredness .

hiya ppqp ..hows you then? good that you and the new boss get on good ..plus the fact that he has indicated that not only his beleif is in work to live ,but also if you taske over the programmes, then there will be a financial incentive for you ..the fact that he is willing to support you is good .Nothing wrong with being a perfectionist .take care have a good one .

hiya Lav ..hows you then?all good? I did 1026 steps yesterday, and tbh it was more difficult than I thought ,but just shows how important it is to keep moving ..especially for young uns like us ..the fitness band is a nightmare to set up ...simply because I had set my phone up not to be a pain the ass notifying me of stuff like Joe Bloggs in London has just had bacon for breakfast..I turned off and hid all of that stuff ...and now I need it ...oops ..thats a good incentive for your grandson ..take care and have a good day

right folks thats me,,take care and have a good one

        Mae all!
Feeling a bit of energy this morning, thank goodness. Mick, thought of you yesterday as I set up a printer... it refuses to talk to my main computer on the internet, So I got out my old one, and at least it works... There’s always something, right? Good luck with the Fitbit!

Lav, love the idea for grandson... taking care of live things is a great life lesson and good work. Glad that you can get out and about... there is a little lake here at the complex... I am walking each day, upsetting all the geese!

PPQ, so glad that your “work” is becoming so meaningful and feels right. Excellent. Hoping the weather treats you well...

Pauly, how are things in your part of NV? Any news on the job front? Sending you good vibes for the search.

Det, hope all is well- Sam nice time see that you dropped by! Here’s hoping that your spring is behaving, an there’s not too much mud. Are you playing music now?

Well, off to try to wrangle expenses for my tax figures... “hey ho the glamorous life..,”

And always thinking about and sending energy to those brave, embattled people inside of Ukraine, and those who have had to leave their homes, and suffered deaths of loved ones. I take a moment each hour I’m awake to blanket them with light and love... I hope some comfort gets through to them. Such stirring bravery..,

        Wishing all well...

          Good evening folks,

Pretty nice here but chilly & windy. This Sunday & Monday it will hit 71 degrees I hear ~ nice

Cyn, glad you’re feeling better today. Some of my friends who had Covid tell me they are experiencing long term fatigue & other issues including increased hot flashes - ugh. Looks like it’s going to take a good long while for everyone to get their full strength back. I agree with you that the bravery of the people in Ukraine is amazing. It really doesn’t surprise me either, they are very strong & proud people. I think of them all day long & hope they can keep the resistance up & going.

PQ, glad to have you on board the sleepless train. What’s up with that? Is it the season change coming up or something lunar? I just don’t know.
My grandsons are on an adventure this week. Their Dad took them out of school & drove 17 hrs straight from here to FL yesterday. My son loves driving, haha! This was a good time for him to take off between his classes for his masters program. My DIL did not go, someone has to feed the many, many animals they have living in their house, (including something like a couple hundred tarantulas) Lol
I won’t go feed those creepy things. They are my DIL’s project, of course.

Mick, sorry to hear about the lack of home care available in your area. With us baby boomers aging the way we are even more services are going to be needed. Ihope Julie can find some decent help.
I hope your no-rain day was good

Hello to Paul. Det & Sam. Check in when you can guys!

          Have a nice night all!

            MAE ALL...

Another busy day. Helped childcare set up their terms for the fall and it took longer than expected. All morning to be exact! I kept telling the director to slow down, she kept making stupid mistakes. Swamped with rental inquiries and then the account wanted me to proof a contract she made for our catering staff. I haven't even finished the contracts I'm working on. Geeze!

Left a little early to make supper before a virtual garden executive meeting in 1/2hr. Turned the oven on and after awhile thought why hasn't it beeped to tell me it's ready. Got up and looked and it was off. Must have hit too many buttons. LOL So running a little behind schedule. Will read back and respond as soon as I can.....:smile:PPQP

Hello everyone and how are we today then question mark hope all is well well. I'm waiting on a phone call from car accessory shop so stop it is Julie's birthday today and my butt hurt personalised plates so I got them made this morning just waiting to go and pick them up now the lady said she phone me when they're ready. Just been to the dentist this morning, said I had excellent teeth not really surprised considering they made a really sunny d over here today again, most of them! A sunny day over here, bit chilly but nevertheless it's nice to have no rain NZ. I've got some work to do in the garden tomorrow, but got to go and pick up 10 25kg bags of Stone. 24 days until Julie leaves work, she can't wait it's quite sad really considering all this time she has pretend she always like going to work I was loved your job but this last year has been absolute rubbish not Nestlé just wear the virus and all the things going on with it, but the complete inadequacy and uselessness of those supposed to be running government services. He has got a meeting on Monday with yet another care company who are coming to do the risk assessment she sounds quite positive and they'll all the Care Quality Commission reports are very very positive.

Hiya ppqp welcome to not only the land of no sleep but also the Academy of not too hot on computer skills either! There are quite a few of us in that one. Yes I got one of those fitness band that tell you how much sleep you're doing how much stress is causing you how much this how much that how much the next thing blah blah blah blah it is now in its box to be returned to Amazon. I need something simple like my Fitbit how many steps I've done how many calories I've used how many miles I've walked and what time it is apart from that that ain't too worried about the rest. Hope the garden meeting got rescheduled! Take care have a great day

Hiya lav and how are you then question mark hope all is well with you yes you blow me of done that Drive taking the kids with them as a holiday etc but guess what your daughter ain't so daft sitting at home to feed the animals no answering back no zooming about like a lunatic no Mum I want scenarios guess what I know where my money is for having a holiday! Never thought of myself as a baby boomer but yep that's us! The days of the flowerpot men Woodstock The Beatles flowers all that sort of stuff yes today is followed up with yet another no rainy day let's hope the weekend is the same take care and have a good one

Hiya teegee and how are you today then? Glad you've got a lot more energy today and yes yet another member of the computer classes we are doing pretty good between a lot of us Julie and I were just talking about this last night we are not very techy minded she said well Amy could probably set all this lot about 10 seconds my reply was I can still do my multiplication tables in my head so when the machines breakdown I will still be ok. What are you up to this weekend question mark staying at home or on another journey? Whatever you do take care look after yourself

Hiya pauly how are you doing

I am doing this talking to my phone as no doubt you will guess I will correct all the mistakes after full stop take care look after yourselves

My thoughts are with those in the Ukraine also thanks to the Polish people who are doing an amazing job of helping them

                  Re: Feb 27

                  Greetings friends!

Sunny but cold today. It was only 17 degrees this morning but it warmed up a bit. Can’t wait for the Sunday/Monday warmth.
Went to the gas station nearest my house today which happens to be in Maryland where they have cheaper gas. I spent $38 for 9.5 gallons of gas. At this rate we may have to saddle up the horses to go anywhere. I know it’s going to get worse considering everything going on. My heart is hurting for Ukraine, wish we could do more for them.

PQ, sounds like a busy day for you. Makes the time fly by faster that way, haha.
When I put something in the oven & set the timer sometimes the timer turns itself off, LOL. Then I have to guess how long my dish has been in the oven. Annoying to say the least.
I hope you got caught up at work & can enjoy the weekend.

Mick, I think I got the gist of your post even with all the extra words.
Did you get all those bags of stone home OK? I imagine Julie must be excited her retirement date is fast approaching. Being your own boss is much better, haha!
I hope the home care company comes thru for you guys. Do you have anything like Adult Daycare centers? They are few & far between over here but very helpful for families. I looked into opening one many years ago but the regulations were a bit over the top for me. Providing a safe place for older adults shouldn’t be so difficult.

Hello to Cyn, Pauly & Det & Sam.

                  Have a nice night all.

                    MAE ALL...

Mick...like Lav I think I got the gist of all that. LOL How did Julie like her personalized plates? Can you tell us what it said? Glad to hear your teeth are excellent, better than have to redo this implant. I'm excited about Julie's retirement and counting down with her. Hope the meeting on Monday is a winner. I'm glad your fitness band is now back in the box, who needs all that chatter going on. Garden meeting went ahead, took about an hour but was very useful getting us ready for our AGM on the 17th. Just didn't need it on top of everything else.

Lav...saw your light on earlier so waited until your post appeared. Gas prices are through the roof here as well, only problem is I don't have my horse anymore. You've got the same timer as me! That's harder to deal with than the oven not turning on in the first place. LOL Usually the busy days making the day go faster is a nice feeling but not lately. Too many deadlines to meet for example, before I can submit the ad for our community cleanup event to the newsletter I have to have it approved by the city and before I can do that I actually have to put all the info on the website. I am actually going into work tomorrow to make sure I meet these deadlines. I can get a full days work done in 2 hrs if I'm on my own. I will also be going in on Sunday as we have our first event and will open the building and then meet with the caterer. I want them to come in and put the kitchen back together. Nothing has been done since the fire last April!

Shout out to the rest of the gang. It's homemade hamburgers for supper tonight so should get started. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Mae all - I think I saw everyone’s post, but doing this on my phone has me a little confused.

It’s Friday night here, and I don’t think I’ll be able to stay up much longer ...(and it’s only 8:15! Oh well, didn’t sleep much last night...

Mick good job on Julie’s bday! And good luck to her in this next company for her Dad... hope it works.

Lav - tarantulas??!!??!! I knew that chick was strange, but holy cow! I am with you in the thinking about sending light to Ukraine... What a situation... brave souls.

PPQ, sounds like things are hopping at work. Good job! Sorry about the oven issues.. I am getting used to a new stove - electric.., I worry that I can’t remember which burners are still hot... good luck!

How are things going, Pauly? Hello to Det and Sam. Wishing all well in this time of the new moon... I saw a tiny sliver of it last night...

Can barely keep my eyes open, so will sign off now... take care all...

hiya all ...how are we today then? hope all is well .today the weather is absolutely gorgeous ...it is the sunniest day we have had. Ive been up and messing around since silly o clock this morning ...Got the stone ,weed course down ,stone laid ,gate next to the greenhouse taken out ..fence re wired ..gate the other side of the greenhouse fixed ..mesh added to it ,and painted ..and now its rest time ..Julie is away swimming ,her fitband thingy has got a swim mode on it so she is away to try it out ..

hiya teegee hows you then? all good hopefully ...days like this here are a joy .hopefully Monday will provide some relief for her ref her dads care ..We got a phone call at 1 am this morning ..it was the sos monitor for her dad had gone off and they scouldnt contact hinm ..he wears an emercgency pendant and set it off ..went to see ..and he was fast asleep..so clearly that doesn't work in its objective .hope you have a good weekend .

hiya ppqp hows you then ? hope all is well .glad you got the gist of the message ...I need a Scottish phone ..her plate is JU11EPZ (Julie Pz)...best of luck for your do this weekend hope it all goes well for you .

hiya Lav ...how are you then ? hope all is good ..fuel has shot up in price over here too ..£1.69 per litre .plus they are talking about increasing energy prices ..what really hacks me off is all these price increases at the pumps, and yet all the big conglomerates are declaring massive profits ..Yes we do have adult day care centres ...but her dad has never been a socialite ..Herod was more popular at parties .he always has preferred his own company..no hobbies or interests ..his life has always been around going for a drink playing cards etc.Hopefully Monday may give us some respite .hope you have a good weekend ..

                              Greetings friends,

Had a half decent day here so we went to the garden store. Nothing much available in plants yet but I did pick up some stargazer lily bulbs. And YB picked up no less than 20 bags of cow manure - not sure what he does with all that hahha! I made some tasty vegan meatballs for dinners. Black beans & walnuts provide the protein, oat flour holds them together with a lot of seasoning - yum

PQ, glad you escaped Saturday work to get outside, good for you!
We stopped at that same gas station today so YB could fill up his truck. They increased the price to $3.99/gal just since I was there yestreday. I didn’t even ask how much it was to fill up his gas tank, ugh.
Ihope the rest of your weekend goes well & the nice wetaher sticks around for you.

Cyn, hope you have rested up since last evening. I am finally sleeping better, grateful.
Yes, my DIL is raising tarantulas in their dining room!!!! Gross, huh? She sells them at those creepy reptile shows they have somewhere.
The bad news just keeps coming out of Ukraine, I just keep praying & donating as I can.

Mick, I would like to hire you to do all the heavy lifting around here, haha!! Geez, you are the real energizer bunny!!!
We really need to stop buying Russian oil, sanctions are sanctions & we need to stop lining the pockets of the oligarchs. You have to hit them where it hurts the most - the wallet.
I hope Julie liked her new tag - that’s pretty cool.

Hello to the missing - Pauly, Det & Sam.

                                Mae all -
Glad to hear that all are well and chugging along. Weather here has been quite stormy - there were several tornado alerts yesterday, and the storm sirens really set me on edge. I had forgotten (my “new” home being the home of my childhood) that we are also home to SAC - strategic air command. I read in some Times article about the commanders in residence there, and that 1 of the nuclear-proof planes is always in the sky... somehow it brings the conflict closer. My nephew (Navy Seal commander, working part-time now) has a history of severe PTSD from war battles, so I am praying that he is staying centered (he’s the one with cancer - likely caused by the “burn pits” he was exposed to in war.) I am headed there next week to be support for the family.

So, working long hours here to get things “done and dusted” as one of our thread-mates used to say... taxes, work projects, etc.

Mick - great present for Julie! And she is a master at upgrades! Good luck to you both with her dad...
PPQ - sounds like you have seen plenty of doctors - glad things are coming along...
Lav - how wonderful for you to see both kids and all grandkids in one day - bonus -
Hello to all that drop by - Pauly, how’s things? Det and Sam, hope you are well —
                                Wishing all safety and health.
