    MAE ALL...

Mick...that's quite a drop in temperature. I hope it helps a little. Any chance of a window air conditioner like Lav suggested? I just don't get some people, especially when it puts rescuer's lives in jeopardy. I have notice a lot more "Entitled" attitudes than ever before. You must have cleaned the outside of the roof on the van because yet again another day of no nogg'n damage. LOL A co-worker of mine has a saying it's not in my circle not my responsibility. I've adopted that attitude, here's my circle, nope sorry you're not in it so not even thinking about it.

Lav...glad you had a good time today. Good old YB. LOL That's great that you'll do them and you're right it's more of a neighbour repayment for services rendered. Always good to have that snow removal option available. Yes, I'm leaning towards getting the 2nd booster only because of my own health issues not because it'll combat the BA-5 virus. I'm thinking covid vaccine will become part of the annual flu shots.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

      Re: July 17th

      morning all,
checking in to see how everyone is surviving the heat. Sounds pretty awful, Mick. We don't have AC either. Lots of cold baths!

Start a cardio rehab program today. Sure hope Medicare picks up these bills. I think I will call them and make sure before getting into this too far. Today is just disorientation. My son bought me a Fitbit to keep on eye on heart rate but more intriguing is the step counter, very addicting to see how many steps. I don't understand how to really use all the features, kinda like my phone.

PQ, I believe you're right about covid shots being an annual event. Lav, I got to do the, get the 2nd one. I need to do the shingles thang as well. So many shots, so little time.

      be well friends

        Re: July 17th

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Got up this morning and guess what it was raining! a well needed break the temperatures are going to rise again slept well last night and even the rabbits have been out in the rain this morning

Hiya lav and how are you today then? Yes that Rose is one of my favourite without any doubt. As for the air conditioner, if the weather continues the waiters we are going to buy a proper unit. The houses we have have are built to maintain and hold heat not let it out. And that obviously causes an issue fans only recirculate the air that is going round the place as opposed to cooling it. Yes the water levels are pretty low, which I'm sure we'll start a water shortage campaign! As for the boosters, I'm with you. The virus will be here for a long time, well after me and besides the boosters are free anything with a price tag like that that's well within my range! Haha you take care

Hiya Sam how are you doing my friend? Hope all is well with you. Yes you are right fitbits and things like that are very addictive Julie has got one and it has got an ECG on it as well in fact the only thing it doesn't do it hoover up and wash dishes that's still my job. The 10000 steps that it tells you to do do, as a target was actually the brainchild of a Japanese guy who was told to just think of a number there is no actual fitness to step reason why it was that at. More so you take great care my friend

Hiya ppqp and how are you ? Yes you are right the roof of the van was cleaned yesterday, as well as the sides I was going to say no where could I buy my head but let's not tempt fate. As you say nowadays there is a lot more or of I am entitled to this that and the next thing as opposed to having to work and save up for stuff, and the other side of that is crime to pay for it and also the theft of items from people full stop it seems to be a lot more prevalent nowadays. You take care and look after yourself.

A big hello to everyone else..pauly teegee etc

          Re: July 17th

          Hey all,
Today was day 4 of the heatwave - only 4 days to go they say, LOL
I’ll probably be in a puddle of sweat by then, geez! My poor chickens look like they’re in shock. I’m trying to keep up with the cool treats for them. The dog comes in with her tongue hanging out, haha.
So President Biden tested + for Covid today but he says it’s mild so far. They put hm on the antiviral Pavlovid which is good. I will be tuning in tonight to the congressional hearings again - getting very interesting info coming out.

PQ, the Polish say Not my monkey not my circus, haha!!! I think about that saying a lot
I haven’t ordered from any wholesalers for quite a while (pre-pandemic I guess was the last time). I was shocked looking at their inventories last night. I’m going to have a hard time finding the safety green shirts they want, wow. Glad I’m not in regular business anymore, it’s frustrating. Every company I looked at had zero L & XL shirts.

Sam, I’m glad to hear you’re going to cardiac rehab. SO many people skip that step thinking they don’t need to go but it’s important. You want to prevent another MI, am I right? If your doc ordered rehab for you then it should be covered. Here’s a little info: NCD - Cardiac Rehabilitation Programs (2.1)
Good luck!! My daughter works in physical therapy & says anything over 7,000 steps daily doesn’t really help so I’m taking her word for it hahah!!

Mick, glad you got that rain. We’re going to be wishing for some after 8 days of this heat, yuck!
I think we all need to make adjustments if we plan to live thru these horrible heatwaves. We have good insulation in this house so it stays warm in the winter when the heat is on & cooler in the summer when the AC is running. I’m getting all the vaccines & boosters I can get because I hate being sick.

Cyn, hope yuo are doing OK.

Pauly & Det, hello to yuo two.

          Have a good night all!

hiya everyone ,how are we doing? hope all is well.Raining here again today,no complaints from me.rabbits arent too impressed ,but hey ho.I see the judgement on Trump is hitting the news over here. The biggest worry is that they are dsaying he has a chance of running again in 2024..Im sure we have a double over here in Boris..another one with a narcissist and grandiose personality.

hiya Lav ..how are you today then? how are the chickens doing?hopefully you will get the rain soon too.yes you are right in as much as we need to adjust our lives according to the climate, not the other way around .

hiya Sam ,how are things going with you mate?stay safe and look after yourself .stick with the programme mate .

hiya pauly and teegee how are you both doing? stay strong ..

hiya ppqp...how are you then ? o k I hope bridge day is it?go for it hope you win,.

have a safe weekend folks .

Tonight I'm cooking dairy-free haricot pizzas for the family.

Sounds a lot better than beans on toast.

Just had a 'Traditional English Breakfast...

Three quarters of a can of flat Stella, and half a cold kebab.

I don't like being in my hot tub when it rains.. because I might get WET !

              mid morning everyone
gonna be another hot one today and we have 2 outside gigs this weekend, gonna be a sweaty guitar neck for sure!

it is interesting on the steps thing. On a typical day of work in the field it's way easy to go over 10,000 but on an office day, not so. Signed up for the rehab starting next Thursday.

Mick, glad you all had a break with some rain. I have been reading it has been brutal in your neck of the woods.

Lav, I watched the J-6 hearing last night. It all makes me very aware our system hangs on the edge, next election cycle will tell a lot.

PQ, how you doing today? all well with you?

              off to sweat
              be well friends

                Dear sweaty friends, LOL

96 & humid here but it could be worse…….I guess.
3 more days togo until this heatwave breaks. Just hope we don’t break before the cooler air gets here, geez.

Mick, glad you’re on rain mode now & I hope it remains cooler.
All chickens are present & accounted for although they are a bit crabby, haha!!

Sam, glad you will follow thru with the rehab. They will teach you a lot, it’s not just about exercise
After watching last night’s hearing I am convinced that Trump needs to be charged & Jailed. He’s holding a big rally somewhere tonight to take more money from his supporters ~ idiots.

PQ, hope your day was cool in all ways possible

Hello to Cyn, Pauly & Det & anyone else stopping by.

                Have a nice night all!

                  MAE ALL...

Another case of the missing post, as Mick would say hey ho. It was a great quiet day with no boss or accountant around. Every Friday should be like that. Yesterday the boss canned the kitchen renter, YAY! No more salsa dude and we have our clean kitchen back. We have a huge wedding 250 people at the hall tomorrow so I'll be turning my phone off.

Sam...good to hear you signed up for the rehab and yup all's well with me. I've wanted to get the shingles vaccine for awhile now but couldn't as it's a live vaccine and I can't take it with my auto immune issues. Now I hear they've come out with a new one that isn't live so I'll be checking that out. You stay hydrated this weekend and lots of sunscreen on your neck.

Mick...for once I'm glad to hear it's raining. Hope it helps bring down your temps. It was cooler today and when I left it just started raining. We've got a thunderstorm watch in place at the moment and I did see a couple of flashes. This is the tail end of a wrap around system in the east so I don't think it'll amount to much. Bridge was yesterday and during the summer it's just a drop in session and very few people showing up. There was just 4 of us but we had a great time We've, well I've decided not to run the program in the fall, nobody willing to step up and run it. I will revisit it in the winter if I get some people interested in it.

Lav...I've been saying Not my monkey not my circus for quite awhile now, felt it was getting stale so glad to have the not in my circle to say now. LOL I sure hope your cooler weather gets there before you break! Your poor chickens, I can just see them walking around with that shocked look. I too watched last night's hearing and just kept shaking my head. What an a$$. I hope he does get charged, sounds like it's heading that way.

Just got a call from my tennis instructor, she's cancelling classes for tonight so got to get an email out to all the participants.

Thinking of the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                      Re: July 17th

It’s still too hot to do anything outside - BOO HOO!!!
I’ve just made a few quick trips out to the chickens to take them some cooling snacks, water plants, that kind of thing. The sun is just so strong, ugh. Greenhouse hit >111 degrees today, doubt of anything is surviving in there despite fans running & everything being well soaked. What can you do?
So as not to be a complete waste of time today I made two double batches of zucchini pancakes, flash froze them & bagged them up for freezer storage. The Barefoot Contessa's Zucchini Pancakes
We both really like these pancakes, go well with chicken for dinner

PQ, glad you had a good Friday. It usually is a good day when the boss is away, haha!
Hope you’re enjoying some cooler weather today & I wouldn’t mind if you sent some this way. I hope that big wedding party went OK today.

Mick, back to detecting, nice! Hope you get some decent weather for the day.
Ill take that rain off your hands today - please

Sam, hope you’re not melting at your events today.

                      Cyn, thinking of you!

Pauly & Det, would love to hear from you.

                      Have a good night all!

                        MAE ALL

Mick...I remember when you got shingles, you were trying to figure out if you got bit by something because it was on your arms. (?) I could not answer a call from my boss today as he is in the middle of moving and I told him I would be around if he gets a call from the wedding party. Yup, he called as the cleaning staff locked a room that the wedding party was using so I popped over for him. Had actually gone in earlier today because my security camera was off line and wanted to know what was going on. Boss did say that he owed me big time. Hope the weather is perfect for your detecting tomorrow. Good luck.

Lav...thanks for the zucchini pancakes recipe, I'm grocery shopping tomorrow but will stop at the garden for these ingredients. It's way too hot for you, sending you the cooler weather as apparently we're done with it tomorrow. LOL I hope you can salvage some of the green house crops. I've got all the craft sale tables sorted out and posted on our website. Monday will find me flooding every available marketing site to promote it. It's a little disconcerting to be looking for Christmas images in July. LOL

Hope the rest of the gang is ok. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP
