Re: 31st July and still no red tomatoes!!

    MAE ALL...

Mick...you really needed that little nap. What a night. Sounds like Amy is off to a great trip even if it is a short one. No bridge today, not enough people showing up today so we cancelled it. I will have to take those 2hrs off sometime before the end of August. Not giving up 1 hour of my vacation. Boss is supposed to get an update from prog coord sometime in August and the expected return date is Sep 15th. He still has no idea what her job will be except she'll be answering to me not the other way around. He said never in all his years working has seen 1 person disrupt an entire team the she did.

Lav...I feel bad for your lingering heat wave. I really needed the break from ours. Heat returning later next week though. What a nice thing to do for your granddaughter. It does seem the summer is the time for growth spurts. LOL It was a quiet day for me and both the boss and accountant left at noon. I got a lot of projects finished that had been sitting on the back burner. No boss tomorrow the accountant will be in, oh well. A long term client of our childcare program is having her grade 12 grad at the community centre on Saturday. She is just tingling being back. LOL I'll pop over to make sure they get their laptop and projector set up ok for a surprise slideshow.

I'm in to work tomorrow but have Monday off so will still get another long weekend in. Hello to everyone else, have a great night....:smile:PPQP

Quick love to all - I am in the mix of the most time-sensitive part of the festival, so just one more week to go...

      Miss everyone, sending love —

          Good evening friends,

We ended up with 2 back to back pop up thunder storms last night dropping nearly an inch of rain. It’s still hot 90+ today but at least things got a decent watering.
Noting special going on today & too hot to make weekend plans.

PQ, sorry about your bridge game but at least you do get a nice 3 day weekend
I can’t wait to be rid of this excessive heat, it’s just gross.

Cyn, hope everything os going well, thinking of you!

Mick, sounds like you have everything in order. Enjoy those red tomatoes & throw the bad ones in the compost pile like we do. I went out last evening to empty a dish of coffee & tea grounds on the compost pile & cracked up when I saw a million tomato plants growing out of the pile, hahha!!! Have a good weekend.

Hello to Sam, Pauly & Det.

          Have a nice night all!

Re: 31st July and still no red tomatoes!!

            MAE ALL...

TG...nice to see you were able to pop in. Deep breaths. That week will be over before you know it.

Mick...sounds like your weather is same old, same old, rain, rain, rain. Hey, way to go, red toms. I heard somewhere that if the tomatoes lie on the dirt they will rot. Don't know if it's true or not. One of the bridge members, who doesn't play during the summer, is disappointed that it won't start up in the fall. She is on a mission to get some to take on managing it. Of course she will only be here for 2 months and these off to the south for 4 months. I'd tell her to go jump in a lake.

Lav...heavy black clouds rolled in last night but not a drop. It was only 46F this morning and never got above 64F. Sounds like a good soaking and you didn't have to do it. It's going back to the 30's next week and you won't hear a complaint out of me. The forecast for this winter is -40 C/F starting in January and lasting till March. YIKES! Hope they're wrong. I bet you can't wait till your heat breaks.

When I got home from work at 5pm there was a McDonald's delivery sitting at the front door. It' been sitting there since 9am, hotcakes and hashbrowns. My son said dang, if I knew it was there I would have ate it. LOL Popping into work tomorrow to show the renter how to work the projector and sound system.

Hello to Det, Pauly and Sam. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Re: 31st July and still no red tomatoes!!

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing well well. A bit overcast here today, but nice and dry my. We were supposed to be going detecting tomorrow, but one of the guys I go detecting with has been on holiday day and it's just on his way back this afternoon full stop so there is a chance we will not be going. Not to worry we will get out next weekend. Jeeves is playing up again, he has been poorly all day so I've been rubbing his tummy giving him medication and revitalising solution that contains the nutrients and minerals he requires full stop fingers crossed he is ok. Julie is upstairs working on her dolls house. I think it is getting a wallpaper change not sure I stay out of that department! Amy has just sent us a video they have arrived at Lake Como, they actually look over the leg from their hotel room. They were in Milan earlier on, and she messaged Julie, they were going to get a taxi from Milan to Lake Como and Julie remembered about when we went to Italy we got what is called an omni card which entitles you to travel on the public transport I think it was about €60. So she bought one and got the train and bus and we'll be doing the same to the airport by doing so it has probably saved her about £325 full stop for some strange reason people don't like using public transport abroad. I do for me it is part of the adventure stop hope everyone has a good weekend and I've just got to watch the little man now make sure he is ok

Re: 31st July and still no red tomatoes!!

                Good evening friends,
I’m actually sitting outside since the temp has dropped below 90 degrees haha! A little breeze kicks up every now & then too. We may be in for another storm after midnight, we’ll see.

PQ, I hope they’re leaving you alone so you can enjoy your weekend. You’re absolutely right, I can’t wait for a real break in this weather. Enjoy you’re coolness, I’m jealous LOL
I guess someone didn’t get their McDonald’s order & are mad about it today, oh well.

Mick, sure hope Jeeves is OK. He’s very lucky to have you looking after him with such good care.
I agree with you on the public transportation when on vacation - it’s part of the fun. My daughter & I used the metro to go all over Paris & used a boat pass to ride the bateaux up & down the Seine to get to different places. The trains in Germany were a lot of fun too. Hope Amy continues to enjoy her trip. I’m sure you will find something to do if detecting is postponed a week.
My little feral cat friend has just joined me on the deck. That’s fine provided she doesn’t mess with the hummingbirds at the feeders

                Cyn, thinking of you
                Pauly, same to you!

                Hello to Sam & Det.

                Wishing everyone a nice night!

                  MAE ALL...

Mick...like Lav says, I'm sure you'll find something to do tomorrow. LOL Boy, that Jeeves, he doesn't know how lucky he is to have you. I hope he's feeling better soon. Got a feeling this could be a recurring cycle for you. You're going to have to share a pic of Julies dolls house when she gets it finish. Good call on staying out of that department. I agree with the public transport while on holidays. I just loved riding the tube when I was in London.

Lav...nice that you're sitting outside, it's been awhile. Coolness is on it's way out so no need for jealousy anymore. LOL I did pop over to the hall today to get the renters set up with audio & video for the grad party. The event was a huge success and they were so grateful for all my help. Everyone in attendance loved the room, I can see future event rentals coming from this event. We had a whole grocery order dropped off at the community centre once. We called "Skip the Dishes" and they said once it's dropped off they can't do anything about it. The staff divided up the food and had a free meal on Skip. Your little feral cat friend, haha, did she have the family with her?

Ran into the prog coord when I popped into the grocery store. Asked her how things were going and she said not good, she just got her husband out of the hospital. Something to do with Atrial fibrillation. Asked her how she was doing and she said not good. Looked good to me but looks don't always tell the story. It shall be interesting to see if she actually comes back to work Sep 15th.

No more work responsibilities and I'm off on Monday, just in time to hide indoors with the heatwave again. LOL

TG...counting down the days with you till the weeks up. Hope everything is going great.

Hello to Det, Sam and Pauly, always thinking of you guys.

                  Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP
