    Re: 7th August

    Good evening friends,

Glad to report the 10 day heatwave is OVER!!!!!!!
Today’s high temp was 86 & not nearly as humid. We had an inch & a half rain overnight so I’m sure that helped
It’s nice being able to breathe when you step outside for a change. The chickens look happier too.

Mick, it’s hard to believe your water levels are so low. It seems like you get plenty of rain, who knows? I hope things ease up soon, I worry about fires, etc,
Sadly, last evening a 20 yr old Amish guy lost his life after jumping into a pond, he never resurfaced. Poor guy was scheduled to be married soon. He was the youngest of a big family nearby.

Cyn, I am glad to hear you have decided to separate yourself from the festival. You have done so much for them over the years, it’s time for you to look out for yourself
None of us know what the future holds, you surely will figure out your way. Stay positive & stay open, always.

PQ, hope all is well with you!

Sam, Pauly & Det, hello to all.

    Wishing everyone a decent night!
    Lav

      MAE ALL...

Lav...I thought of you driving home tonight. It was over 90F today and that was just 1 day. Glad to hear your heatwave broke. I hope the chickens continue to stay happy and healthy. Sorry to hear about the Amish guy, there's been a couple of those deaths around here too. One guy jumped out of his boat to save his dog the neither of them have been found yet.

Mick...seniors not drinking enough seems to be a common problem. I'm glad that you and Julie are able to keep an eye on him. I have water with me all day long. So that would be a hot yoga class you attended last night. Was able to play bridge this afternoon with the proper number of people which it made it really enjoyable. The childcare director is meeting with the boss and accountant tomorrow, it could end up being a very heated meeting. Just as well I have tomorrow off.

TG...good to hear from you and I'm glad you're finally on clean up mode. I think saying goodbye and separating your mind and soul from it is the right thing to do. You take your time making any big decisions. Knowing you it won't be long before you've got it all figured out.

Waves to Pauly, Det & Sam. Picked up a couple of steaks on the way home so it's time to get the BBQ going. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Give mae to everyone ..how are you doing?never slept much last night it was roasting last night and at 2 this morning it was still 20 degrees full stop so got up had a shower and that has been me since. The same is supposed to happen again today, I think the first break we get is on Monday. Went for a walk yesterday morning it was nice but was getting hot when we finished.

Hiya teegee lovely to see you. What temperature future holds and grab it with both hands and use it to your advantage. There is a whole world out there waiting for you to explore karma you take care and enjoy yourself. Life may have changed for you, but don't let it pass you by.

Hiya lav how are you doing, hope all is good for you. Sorry to hear about that young guy losing his life colour people don't comprehend the level of shock your body takes in cold water. So you finally have had water from the sky have you? I knew we followed you so I was should be here next week. Yes fire throughout the world seem to be a massive problem at the moment. Are your fuel prices going down? from a high of £2 5 pence it is at 1:58. Check my tomatoes yesterday and my prize tomato which was the size of a tennis ball I turned it upside down to find it hard got a bug eating into it. Hope you have a good weekend

Hiya ppqp how are you then? How did the meeting go with the boss and the merry gang? Was it heated? A barbecue hope you enjoyed yourself! Take care and have a great weekend.

        Hiya pauly hope allis ok

          Re: 7th August

          Hello friends,

It was a really nice day today, high was 82 degrees, not humid, blue skies with some pretty puffy white clouds floating around - just what I ordered
We went out to get chicken feed, had lunch in southern Lancaster County & checked out a few shops. Nice!
Is everyone enjoying the news pertaining to Trump this week? Haha! Apparently he is even dumber than I thought - taking highly classified documents out of the white house to his home in FL, what????
Just heard there’s a possibility he could be brought up on 3 charges including espionage. What an a$$hat!!! At least we won’t have to worry about him running for president again in 2024 if he’s in jail

PQ, drownings are so scary, it makes me very sad to hear these things. I’m guessing the guy here probably broke his neck diving into water that was maybe not as deep as he thought. We’ll see when they release the autopsy results. My chickens are quite happy & laying more eggs now that the heat is off. Stay cool!!!

Mick, our local gas prices have come down quite a bit but still averaging $4.33/gallon. Hope the price continues to drop.
Sorry to hear your tomato has attracted bugs - never fails. I meant to mention yesterday that older folks don’t sweat like the rest of us & don’t feel as thirsty as we do so they just don’t get enough fluids in /day. It’s good that you can keep an eye on Julie’s dad & keep encouraging him.

Cyn, hope you are well, thinking of you!

Sam, Pauly & Det, hello to all!

          Have a nice night everyone.
I had an outdoor cat house delivered today & need to see if I can get Luna interested in checking it out

            MAE ALL...

The day got away from me yesterday. Was updating my new laptop with new programs and trying to connect to our server. The boys sure make things difficult! Then a huge loud thunderstorm rolled in and we lost power. Rain and hail so I hope the garden survived for the party today. We've decided to have the dedication at the garden but then move indoors for lunch. It's just way too hot to stay outdoors.

Mick...I hope your heatwave breaks soon. We'll get a bit of a break on Sunday and then right back to the mid 30's next week. Trying not to complain as they're calling for -40 in Jan & Feb. Since I was off yesterday I won't find out what happened at the meeting until later today.

Lav...sounds like you had a good day yesterday. I'm glad to hear about Trump, I really don't want him running in 2024. Even if I don't live in the states he scares me. An outdoor cat house. I guess she's decided to stay. Does she pay any attention to the chickens?

Shout out to the rest of the gang.
Got to start thinking what needs to be done at the community centre for the party. Have a good day all....:smile:PPQP

              Re: 7th August

hiya all ,,how are we then today?hope everyone is good .we have a really hot day again today ,but it says thunderstorms are on the way.

.Monday is our destiny day .Van gets its habitation check on tuesday and off to southport on the Thursday ,it will be nice to see the place again ...its 20 odd years since I lived there .Bonnie forsome strange reason has started burrowing....I got some red crocosmia ,I much prefer it to the orange ,so hopefully it will take next year. Not going metal detecting tomorrow ,going for a walk early doors instead .nothing clever ,just about 12/15 ks .

hiya ppqp ...computers ..dont mention them.Mine has picked up a virus ...the Bing redirect ,I usually use chrome as my browser and whenever you search for anything bing takes over the search.there are loads of supposed ways to get rid of it ..so far none have worked for me.best of luck with what was said at the meeting .hope we get the thunderstorms .

hiya lav ,hows you then?good?did you get the chicken feed ?yes the gas prices are still coming down though the gap between petrol and diesel remains pretty high..thats becausethey want to bin the diesel cars off.
did Luna like the cat house?has she been in it?tes we are def keeping an eye on Julies dad ..hope you have a great weekend .

hiya pauly and teegee hope all is well with you

                Re: 7th August

Ahhh, it’s so nice out on the deck, 79 degrees & sunny. FINALLY, haha!!
I really hated that feeling of having to hide inside all day just to keep from keeling over in the heat. Out here I can enjoy the hummingbirds, lots of butterflies, Luna my deck cat & a dumb half beagle who is about to get her nose scratched off, Lol. It would be awesome if this weather stuck around for a few months

PQ, sorry about your heat situation & I hope you found everything in good order at the garden today.
Luna is currently resting on the deck right next to the house I got for her, I’ve seen her looking at it & checking it out so hopefully she’ll get the idea it’s there for her. Luna actually walks with me over to the chicken house each night as I close it up, funny.

Mick, sorry you’re dealing with the heat too.
Sounds like you have another interesting trip coming up, cool! Computer viruses are a pain, hope you can get rid of it quickly.
So what makes a rabbit suddenly start burrowing? Escape plans?
I haven’t even looked at diesel prices lately, neither of us buy it so why bother? Stay cool as possible!

Hello to Cyn & Pauly, Sam & Det. Hope everyone is doing OK

                Have a nice night all!

                  Re: 7th August

                  Mae all,
Thank you for your very dear good wishes, I am so grateful for this safe place to drop into!

Mick, I hope Julie’s father continues to perk up... hydration is key for all of us! I hope Bonnie decides to knockoff tunneling... Your upcoming trip sounds great!

PPQ- I hope the garden event went well, and that all things smooth out at work...

Lav - how cute that the rescue cat is taking to you, and is okay around the chickens. So sorry to hear about the one that passed away, sad. And also that Amish boy, what a shock. Here in Tahoe there is a huge search going on for a missing 16-year-old girl who was at a party in a state forest nearby... 200 kids, smoking dope and who knows what. She texted her mom around 10 pm saying she was coming home, then nothing... it is incredibly sad... hundreds of searchers are out looking for clues... they think abduction is possible... heartbreaking...
So, I am grateful for every good day. I am now working with my next door neighbor here (who just lost her husband). We will start organizing her garage tomorrow, and I think that will pick up her spirits...
Pauly, are you okay in Vegas? Those rains sound frightening. Sam, how’s your weather? Your truck? Hope all is well.

                  Cheers to all stopping by...
