    Mick,
I hate to disappoint you but I don’t think you will be getting any tomatoes on that plant haha!!!!
Sorry the rain chased you away from your camp spot but I totally understand.
I somehow tricked myself into believing I posted last evening & apparently I did not, LOL we have rain moving in around midnight & going thru the day tomorrow. We are actually kinda dry & need a good soaking I think. Right now it’s not bad, sitting outside with cats & hummingbirds flitting around the feeders I just freshened up.

Cyn, I am sorry your friend was feeling so poorly. She’s lucky you were there, honestly!! Seems you are being forced into a caregiver role that you did not anticipate
I know that’s stressful, take good care of yourself too.

PQ, hope the weekend has been good for you!

Pauly, Det & Sam - hello

    Have a nice night all!

        MAE ALL...

Our heatwave finally broke. Unfortunately it's very humid outside so it feels warmer than it actually is. Wildfires in BC have picked up so now we're blanketed with smoke. Tomorrow is supposed to be a cool, wet day 20C, we shall see.

Mick...I think Lav is right, doesn't look like you'll get any tomatoes off that plant. Sorry the weather wasn't great for you but you're right, you accomplished the most important thing. Ouch, 5 tires! Bet the rabbits were glad to see you too.

Lav…it was a good weekend, just didn’t need the 22 voice messages when I got into work this morning. Boy, I’m telling you, people sure want everything for nothing. Did you find some more things to plant in the containers? We are having an issue with wasps in the garden this year. And one very annoying gardener who thinks we should get rid of them all. I have had 2 nests removed and there is no nest in her garden plot. I don’t know but if you have a vegetable garden don’t you kinda expect bees, wasps, etc.

TG…that sounds like quite the adventure you had on Friday. What a good friend you are staying with her when you got her home from the hospital. I bet you are worn out. Reminds me of my ex-MIL and her health issues. No one else around so you can guess who was dealing with her. Did you head out to Colorado?

Didn’t feel like doing any grocery shopping over the weekend and now I don’t know what I’ll make for dinner. I’ll probably have breakfast. LOL

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all….:smile:PPQP

          Re: 21st Aug

          Greetings folks,

Rain started last evening, a few thunderstorms too. I think it will end some time tomorrow. Who knows???
Not accomplishing much the past few days, I seem to be low on energy. Likely due to crappy sleep for several nights, oh well.

Mick, I would cry if I had to buy 5 new tires.
That picture with the hanging baskets reminds me of a set up YB had here years ago but he had birdhouse/gourds hanging from the clothes tree. It was stupid looking too haha!!!
Our rain is coming from the west & south so I guess I don’t have to thank you. We really needed some rain.

PQ, any grownup up gardener should know that bees are pollinators & are to be expected around a garden, Now the wasps are just a$$holes & serve no purpose excepts to annoy us haha!
I haven’t gotten any other plants for those containers yet but I will be visiting a different Amish greenhouse tomorrow where I think I can find some.

Cyn, hope you are OK having your visit with family.

Hello to Pauly & Det & Sam.
          Wishing everyone a nice night!

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing ok. It is dry over here at the moment, very cloudy and trying its best to rain but isn't going to happen. Just recovering after the price of the tires yesterday, and a few other bits and pieces I had to buy. I went to Costco this morning to get some fuel I went at 6 a.m. to beat the crowd and even then there was a queue starting! The differences about 9 pence per litre which doesn't really sound a lot but when you're putting in 120 L it helps! Plus I enjoyed getting out this morning. We are away next Sunday down to Norfolk, I think the first sight we stay on is Sandringham, which is on the royal Estate.
Hiya ppqp how are you today? Seems a bit strange to me that people have to leave a voicemail or an email as opposed to using a bit of common Sense and sorting things out in the garden for themselves. It probably took as long to write the email as it would be to sort the problem! How are things at work with you? Hope all is well

Hiya lav how are you? I thought the hanging baskets were Ace! But there again that's the sort of sick sense of humour I've got. Did you find anything else it's when you were clearing the garden? Take care and have a great day

Hiya teegee and pauly hope you are both good x

              Hello friends,

We have the sun back today &it’s working on getting hot again, naturally.
I’ve just been putzing around lately when I really need to be paying attention to getting ready for the next 3 craft shows I’ve signed up for, haha! I’ll get there eventually

Mick, I can’t blame. You looking for the best price for fuel for your van - geez! You should get better mileage with your brand new tires too.
If you run into any royals on your next trip tell them we said hello
YB’s raised garden beds are now empty. He had already harvested all the onions & garlic. The rest was just leftover bits & weeds from broccoli & cauliflower plants, etc. he cut open the larger watermelon today & found it wasn’t fully ripe yet but the chickens will enjoy it anyway. It’s in the fridge getting cold for them.

Hello to PQ, hope you are well.
Hello to Cyn as well. Hope you are getting some rest in between all your trips
Pauly, Det & Sam, thinking of you guys.

                MAE ALL...

Mick...thank you for the rain, it lasted all day. It was nice to have the temp around 18C, I can live with that. I don't think we'll get the heat warning temps again but it's supposed to be above normal for the rest of the week and next. I don't blame you for going for the cheaper gas, I've been doing that with my groceries. I hope you have better weather for you Norfolk trip. Boss has hired 2 part time people who will be starting Sep 7th. They'll be doing evening and weekend shifts which will free the boss and me up from having to pop over the building because of events/programs. Latest news on the prog coord is now it's sometime in October that she may or may not be returning. She'll have her eyes opened if she comes back, she'll be sharing a workstation with the new hires. LOL

Lav...3 craft shows! So did you decide to go with the fire station one? The joke around the community garden is well you wanted us to get rid of the ants, you didn't say anything about replacing them with wasps. She has been a pain in the arse since she started renting. I hope you don't get the scorching temps again, with my luck I'll soon be waking up to snow. Last week for a bridge game and I'm off again on Friday. It's going to be tough working an actual full week. LOL

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                    Re: 21st Aug

                    Greetings friends,

Warm & sunny, low 80’s today. But they’re talking about another heatwave coming along…….I really hope not.
Made a pizza for dinner, homemade crust, sauce & used a new liquid dairy free mozzarella cheez to put on top - yum.

PQ, I hope it’s a very long time before you see snow, geez.
I am actually signed up for 2 shows & hoping I get invited back for the one in December just before Christmas. That was a really good one last year
We have so many ants here it’s not funny. Trying to keep them out of the house keeps me busy haha! Enjoy your last bridge game, all good things come to an end. I hated working 5 days a week too. By the end of the week I was just so over it, Lol

Mick, that looks like a great spot for your trip. Glad everything has checked out so you can go without worries.
I saw pictures of the Nazi warships popping up, freaky. What’s even freakier are the bodies popping up in Lake Mead (out West). It’s a large reservoir that provides water to millions of people. The last I heard they’ve found 5 bodies. Low water levels all over, wow
Luna the cat seems to be fine & very comfy. She leaves the deck for several hours each afternoon togo ‘exploring’ but always returns. One of her young one is starting to get used to seeing me as well. It helps having a bowl of Meow Mix in your hand when you go out there haha!

                    Cyn, thinking of you!

                      MAE ALL...

Well, Boss has managed to upset the staff again. He wants to change our Christmas break. We follow the school break and take 2 weeks when they are closed. He wants admin staff, that's me, to start the break on Dec 19 and back to work on Jan 3 (as opposed to Dec 23 - Jan 9). I don't really care as long as I get my 2 weeks. However he wants to change our Long Term Renters Agreements which I just sent out last week. Argh! I agreed to starting Winter Programs the first week of January but did not agree to changing current contracts. We shall see what happens.

Mick...YAY to the van passing all it's tests. You needed a break from your wallet. LOL Norfolk looks lovely. I just heard on the news about William & Kate moving out of London. You might see some royalty during your trip. Take pics! Yes, I saw the Nazi warships. There's a lot of things showing up with all the droughts.

Lav...80 is not too bad and fingers crossed they're wrong about the heatwave. You sure are creative in the kitchen. When I grow up I want to be like you. LOL I hope it's a long time before I see snow but not banking on it. At least I won't have to buy new tires this year. I remember the craft fair from last December, that was a good one for you. I'm still getting vendor requests so I'm happy I don't have to start juggling tables around to fill up the space. I figure I'll get more interest in it after September starts and people are back in their routines. I also heard about Lake Meade, very freaky. Ants are one thing I don't miss. Being on the 2nd floor of the condo complex they're very few and far between.

TG...hope you're getting some down time on your trip.

Thinking of Det, Sam and Pauly. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

hiya Lav how are you?just heard on the radio..122 days till chrimbo...where did this year go.So the cat family are getting braver are they?yep I see that the droughts are bringing things up your way too.a lot of hints about mafia related stuff from the past ..so how are you doing with the tomatoes?you still got lots of them> chutney for the craft fair?get the gd involved?

hiya ppqp..hows you ..well thats interesting with the boss..and the end result will be?as you say as long as you get your holidays...just watch out for the flying ants ......

                          Good evening folks,

Heating up > 90 degrees now for the next 7 days at least, yuck! Lots of humidity too of course.
I will be happily staying inside where it’s cool & I can get lots of work done. Had my teeth cleaned this morning & now have an appointment for next month to get a problem fixed I didn’t even know I had haha!! Thankful for the good dental insurance

PQ, so the boss is in thinking mode? Now he just needs to coordinate his thoughts with the work you have already done, oh well.
A 2 week break over Christmas is really nice, the dates don’t matter that much really. Try this quick recipe, really good. Mick, I currently have 2 cats sound asleep under the table on my deck, Lol. Even the dog has stopped harassing them, go figure.
Yep, this year is suddenly going very fast. Thinking about holiday stuff makes me crazy but I’ll live through it I’m sure. There’s still some tomatoes on the vines but YB keeps bringing home the Amish grown tomatoes so I don’t know why he even bothers, haha. The rest of the garden was ripped out by the Amish kid last week - glad to see that jungle of weeds gone.

Hellos going out to Cyn, Pauly, Det & Sam. Hope everyone is OK

                            MAE ALL...

At that's it another week over, looking forward to the long weekend. Boss is at it again. Parking lot will be closed on Monday for sweeping. Then Wednesday night it will be closed till Sunday morning for line painting. No skin off my nose but we have 30 kindergarteners with new parents starting on Thursday morning at 7am. They will be clueless as what to do and won't even be able to park in the parking lot. Just ask me if the Childcare Director is PO'd.

Mick...I never could get into yoga so I'm very impressed that you're still doing it. Headstands are definitely out for you. I do remember you mentioning a brain bleed some time ago. We had a cool start to the morning and a decent temp during the day. The summer camp kids were off to their last outing today. Windup BBQ tomorrow and then school starts on Thursday. It was the last drop in bridge game today and we were actually able to get 2 tables going. I have caved and will be offering bridge in the fall in 3 month sessions that way if it doesn't work out I cancel it after Christmas. There's way too many seniors getting confused and it makes it frustrating. Maybe if I open it up again we'll get some new, with it players to revamp the group. We shall see.

Lav...OMG, 7 days! Ouch! We will see the end of August with 2 days of 86F temps and then we're back to our normal 68ish. I'm really hoping we get a long fall. Need the cool down before the deep freeze! LOL The boss did apologize for causing me more work and I did tell him that I would be notifying the renters before I made any changes. I don't see any issues but I feel the curtesy of a heads up is warranted. Thanks for the recipe, I will be checking it out. This is the type of food and I can make extra and have for my lunch. My goal this fall is to eat healthier and make and bring my own lunches. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Boss is taking all of next week off, think he's hiding from childcare LOL. So it was crunch time to find a desk for me new office to save the hassle of getting ahold of him while he's out of the office. Success, my new desk arrives on Monday and I'm looking forward to setting up my new office. Almost feels like Christmas.

Hope everyone else is doing ok, you're always on my mind. Having salmon, asparagus and potatoes for dinner so got to kick start the kid to start BBQing. LOL
                            Have a nice night all....:smile:PPQP

And good afternoon everyone how are we today then? Hope all is going well. It was raining pretty hard this morning, but the sun is out now it is absolutely cracking the flags. Just been shopping get the last of the tinned stuff etc for going away full stop the rabbits go back to the hotel tomorrow.
Hiya lav how are we doing today then? How are the cats doing? Got yourself alright little zoo haven't you haha. Must be honest I didn't use the greenhouse this year to maximum, but I was away for quite a bit of the growing season. I've still got some cabbages and tomatoes. How is your weather doing at the moment? I don't know whether I am following you or you me with regards to that! Take care have a great weekend and
