Good morning all. Hope we are all doing well. The internet is really poor. So thought I'd say hello before everyone uses the internet. I think if I am going to get wifi on here properly. I am going to have to invest in something. At present I use hot spotting with my phone and also its own signal. Have not got a clue but I am sure there is something out there
Slept like a log last night

Hiya lav, how are after slaving away in the cellar?Best of luck at the stool...
Hiya everyone else..hope you are doing good.

        morning all,
been playing a lot of muzac lately. been fun. We played for for 5 hours yesterday at an outside cafe. very warm day.

my daughter came back from her trip out west, a week later, now she and her guy friend have covid. She visited us during that time and the her friend worked surveying with me, it has been here's hoping my wife and I dodge the bullet. She tested positive Friday, so far we're still good. She has recovered for the most part but her partner is not doing well. hopefully today is a better day for him.

looking at selling some calves this week. Got to get some motivation going here....
        be well friends

          Hello all -

It's been a crazy last 10 days... sorry to be away.
Mick, another trip! Your flower pics were awesome... now the beach... wonderful!

Lav, are you slaving away at your embroidery projects? Sorry to hear you are back on after-school duty... I hope your grandson can figure this all out. Kids on the bus can be so mean sometimes (I'm thinking of the opening of that one Spiderman movie, and the kids on the bus...)

Sam, so good to hear from you - sending protective light to you - the last thing you need is Covid! So sorry that the kids got sick... glad your daughter feels better. Wow, a 5-hour session... that's amazing - lucky listeners!

PPQ, hoping that you are doing okay... I look forward to hearing how you are doing...

So, in a nutshell, last week I... drove to Napa to see my step-daughter, next morning drove to Sacramento and took a flight to San Diego where I rented a car... then drove 6 hours to Phoenix to see a 97-year-old dear friend who has been crucial to the success of the music festival, stayed overnight with a friend and then the next day the 97 year old and I went together to see an elderly friend and helped her celebrate her 105th birthday. Then I drove back to Coronado, CA to be with my nephew's family for a few days (he is the one that has had to endure such terrible chemo and radiation... he is still feeling affects, though the treatments have stopped.) I got in on the first day of school, and was actually useful - 2 girls had to go to a school in Coronado, while Mom took one to another school and Dad another! Sheesh! But, never having had kids, it was my first time being there to see all the hubub and excitement. I cried, just like a mom! Something about watching my little grand-niece with her huge backpack and wide eyes head into school with her first-grade classmates really pulled at my heartstrings...
Anyway, after that I flew to Sacramento, drove to Napa for another night with my step-daughter, and the next morning drove back to Tahoe. Yesterday I (unexpectedly) ended up helping my next-door neighbor clear out her entire kitchen, as it is being pulled apart today so that a new kitchen can go in. That was a long and kind of nasty project... How on earth she thought that she was going to be able to do it alone, I have no idea! I'm glad I was around to help...

So that gets you caught up on me... I hope to wrap up any loose ends with projects here in Tahoe this week, and head back to the Midwest by early next week... it's time...

          Wishing all well --

            Greetings friends,

Cyn, I figured you were up to your eyebrows in service to someone or another
All those people are so lucky they have you in their lives. Glad you got to experience the little ones starting school too. It’s such an exciting time for them.
Yep, I’m working in my shop or hiding from the excessive heat - either way that’s where I’ve been during this heatwave. Tomorrow’s high is ONLY 89 degrees so technically that breaks the >90 degrees heatwave stuff, ugh. Take good care & schedule some rest for yourself too.

Sam, hopefully your Covid vaccines will protect you! Hard to believe we’re still dealing with this virus but we definitely are no doubt.
How did you manage to work in all that heat? Honestly we haven’t done much of anything outside, too hot & sticky for us.

Mick, glad your trip is going well!
When our power goes out & when we are out at the craft fairs we use this: https://www.amazon.com/Jetpack-Veriz...a-568816319270
I imagine you have something similar on your side of the pond. It works great so I can take credit card payments or Paypal payments while out on the road

Hello to PQ, hope your day was good!
            Pauly & Det, hello!

            Have a nice night all!

              MAE ALL...

Sorry for MIA don't know what I did all weekend, mostly nothing as we had a couple of huge thunderstorms and rain. Woke up at 2am and couldn't get back to sleep. Going to be an early night for me. Got to work this morning and saw 3 staff cars in the parking lot. Reminded them that the parking lot is closed today for sweeping in prep for line painting. The guy that showed up swept the lot and then started painting, by hand with a little 6 inch roller. OMG, with 130 lines to do I hope he finishes before it snows.

Mick...Cromer looks great, I hope the weather holds up for you. Glad you got a good sleep last night, hoping my night is better. I got all the long term rental contracts out then had to redo them since the boss changed our winter break closures now I'm getting people calling to say they want to talk to the General Manager before signing. They are all due on Thursday, the boss isn't back till Wed Sep 7th, I give up.

TG...wow, you've been one busy lady. I hope you plan on getting some me time. Nice that you were able to experience the first day of school, it is kind of exciting.

Sam...nice that you've been playing lots of muzac. Take advantage of it because you know that white stuff will soon show up.

Lav...we're back to the 90's this week. It's too late in the year to be having these temperatures. Got the building super to demolish the prog coord desk today. Gotta say it felt pretty good. My new desk arrives on Thursday, I'm looking forward to setting up my office.

Sorry this is a short post but I'm bagged. Hope everyone has a good night....:smile:PPQP

                Re: 28th August

Mae all.how are we today then?pouring down with rain all night, but there is something about lying in a box on Wheels that makes it sound good. We went into Cromer yesterday, a quaint former fishing port, that was done up in the 1900s by the Victorians, and yet still retains its charm without the tackiness.today, not sure what we are doing..tomorrow we are going into Sheringham. There is a heritage railway there. As a birthday present from an aunt in 1963 she bought me some shares in this railway..they ain't worth anything really but I always wanted to see the railway

Hiya Sam great to see ya.hope both of you manage to dodge the covid bullet. As times move on,it is getting weaker, but nevertheless it's better not to have it.so you are selling calves?whatcha do with the rest of the legs?..ok ok..take care my friend

Hiya teegee..do you ever stop?lovely to hear from you.certainly putting miles in aren't you?and different experiences too. Every day is a school day. Just take care of yourself.

Hiya ppqp how are you?firstly..take a big breath and breathe!give yourself some you time..work was there before you were and will still be there when you leave .you mention 2 words in there...boss and manager. .let them crack on..were you bridging last week?take care

Hiya lav..how are you today?rain must be on the way to you..we have got it so you must be next
Yes we have similar over here for the wifi, thank you for sending, it's getting not only the right dish, router and sim card. It is about getting the right sim provider for area coverage, fact is I like playing on tinternet so I will get it sorted. Is grandson issue resolved?he seems a bright lad. Literally. Take care and have a good day

                  MAE ALL...

Mick...there are times that listening to the rain is wonderful. As long as you don't have to be out in it and nothing's leaking your good. I checked out Cromer on the internet and you're right it is a charming place. Now I have to check out Sheringham, hope the weather is good for you. Wow, shares in a railway, how cool. Expecting pics. Managed to get a good sleep last night. It sure helps dealing with things at work.

Lav...our heatwave has officially arrived. I think of you often, this has been going on too long for us. We've never had this kind of heat at the beginning of Sep. Tomorrow will find me registering more vendors for the craft sale, I'm almost sold out. YAY How did it go with school pick up duty today? Find out any more about what's happening on the bus?

When I got to work this morning the line painter dude was there. I told him no painting today I have a full parking lot. He said I thought that was tomorrow. I swear people just do not listen anymore. So I sent him on his way. He will be back tomorrow early but there's no way he'll be finished before school starts on Thursday. Oh well, it is what it is.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                    Re: 28th August

                    Good evening friends,

Just had a quick storm that left us only .30” of rain but it dropped the temp 20 degrees to 73 - sweet
Wouldn’t mind if we had a little more of that.

PQ, hand painting parking lines??? Was that guy nuts or what? Haha. To each his own I guess!
I smiled reading about the desk being broken up, that must have been satisfying to say the least. We officially have had the hottest August ever recorded I heard today. I just know it’s been awful & long. I hope we both can get back to regular weather programming soon for sanity’s sake.
Check your Messenger for a pic I sent yesterday.

Mick, thanks for the rain, I’ll gladly take any more you don’t need. I usually do sleep better too hearing the rain, funny about that.
I’ll be picking grandson up tomorrow afternoon, today his mom got him. As far as I know the hair is still orange, hope no one gives him any grief about it, geez. I will get used to it sooner or later., haha!
I hope you continue to have fun exploring all the little towns, sounds like fun.

Cyn, hope today was a rest day for you. I get exhausted just reading about your adventures.

Hello to Sam, Pauly & Det!

Mae all - so good to hear how all are doing...

Mick, I hope you have a map of the British Isles at home on the wall, and pinpoints for all the lovely places you are visiting! That would be amazing...

PPQ, sounds like things are chugging along at your work... good luck on all the fall festivals! (And I loved the story of the desk...&#128521

Lav, I wonder if your grandson’s hair might be part of the bus problem? Just this evening I watched a video of a young Syrian refugee (speaking perfect English, no foreign accent) who was a beat up by girl on the bus. Given a concussion, uuugh. Kids can be so cruel to anyone who seems “different”... I hope that’s not the case...

Sam, how are you faring? Are you and your wife still well? Hope so...

Hello dear Pauly, thinking of you...

                      Good wishes all -

                          Greetings friends,

What a nice day, sunny & 83 degrees with lower humidity - nice
So the entire Philadelphia area & beyond broke the record for heat in August, ugh. Welcome September!

                          Cyn, good to see you!
I know my grandson has had issues with the school bus since Kindergarten. He used to gripe about it but get on the bus. Now he just flat out refuses to get on - who knows? Honestly he’s bigger than anyone on that bus right now but like his dad, not a fighter I guess.

Mick, glad you are enjoying your trip regardless of weather, etc.
That little bit of. Rain we got yesterday did wonders but I’m OK if you send a bit more.

PQ, how’s the line painting going??? Haha
Tomorrow you get your new desk, right? Oh happy day!!!!

I think everyone has gone brain dead!! Enough said!

TG...I hope this post means you're home and relaxing. It's hard keeping up with you. LOL

Mick...2 off the bucket list. Well done. Still a bit mad but manageable if I keep telling myself "You can't fix stupid". I did find myself getting a bit short with people so I just stopped answering the phone. LOL

Lav...yes, hopefully the desk arrives tomorrow. I could use some down time just fixing up my office. I gotta say I was shocked when I saw your grandson's picture. I had the same thought as TG but if it's been going on since kindergarten there's got to be more to it. I'm feeling sorry for the line painter. He's got to be 70 and out in this heatwave all day. It should be quite interesting tomorrow with new parents arriving and not being able to park. I'm sure everyone will figure it out or not.

I've refused to cook until all the dishes in the house come downstairs and get washed! Hope we all have a good night....:smile:PPQP
