    Re: 11 September

Feeling better today... and no issues with the ankle, thank you all for the good wishes...

Mick, I’m glad to hear your info about Princess Anne and Edward’s wife Sophie... they definitely radiate strength and composure. One of the most strangely moving bits I’ve read is the description of the Royal Beekeeper having the hives wrapped with black mourning ribbon and going to each hive separately to explain to the bees that their monarch had died. They said he had to do it, otherwise the bees would leave the hives and not return. For some reason, I believe it!

Lav, I agree, so nice of you to help with the cooking... I know your DIL is not really into that. Also so great that you are collecting your grandson after school- such precious time, and lots of memories.

PPQ, I hope all things gets settled and smoother out at work. Ditto at home - it was good to hear you be a little relieved about your son’s plans... hope all continues to go well...

Finally getting in a good rhythm of sleeping past 4 or 5 in the morning! My brain and body are a little confused I guess, but hopefully all will work out soon. I was not as tired today as I have been, so am relieved about that.

Hello to all dropping by... May we be well...

Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope the Gang is doing well. Yet again today I went up to see the new van, they will be getting fed up with me haha. it gets his habitation check tomorrow afternoon, after that the little jobs that need doing and getting serviced, but bearing in mind tomorrow is poets day I doubt I won't get it till next week now. Not to worry. Yes at the dentist yesterday, no issues at all the sound of money not changing hands was good!

Hiya lav how are you today then? Hope everything is doing well. Julie reckons it's my blood sugars level that drops I haven't a clue I would have thought more my blood pressure. It certainly makes you feel rubbish though. Feel a lot better today day thank goodness. I have still got a load of tomatoes to eat, some of them I am ripening off in a bag with bananas in it it. You take care and have a lovely afternoon.

Hiya ppqp and how are you today then? Hope all is well. Glad

Right folks y'all take care to hear your son is coming back to to some sort of normality now and I don't mean that in a facetious way either. How are things at work? It sounds like a bit of of hassle at the moment, as long as everyone does their fair share doesn't leave it all to you. You take care.

Hiya teegee glad you are feeling better today yes I found that interesting about the bees as well, and bearing in mind King Charles's Theory on ecology etc he will be well pleased. I was up at 5 this morning, it's lovely seeing the day coming in before the sounds of humanity and machinery, just the sound of nature. Know that you are feeling good let's keep it that way full stop you take care and look after yourself

        Re: 11 September

        Greetings friends,

Thought I better jump in & see how everyone is doing. I’m keeping myself busy with the usual stuff.
My son & his family were very happy with their dinner last night. I guess I should do that more often for them.

PQ, having an OK day is good haha! Sure beats the shi**y days, right? I hope your son finds some peace & happiness while he’s away. It’s hard when your friends are so far away.
The smoke from the fires is supposed to arrive tomorrow. One year ago today I put a oic on Facebook of the smoky haze we had then, amazing really.

Cyn, glad you’re feeling better. Rest as much as you can, healing takes a long time. I just read about a nurse who had Covid in March 2020 & she hasn’t been able to return to work due to constant SOB & neurological problems, so sad. Sleep is healing, keep doing your best

Mick, my dentist insists on removing an old filling that doesn’t bother me a bit, ho hum. I go on the 23rd. Glad you got away without anything like that lol.
I hope everything checks out in your new van so you can get going again real soon. Try increasing your protein a bit & see if that doesn’t help keep your blood sugar stable. Carrying snacks like peanut butter crackers helps when you get that low sugar feeling.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

          Re: 11 September

Mae all - not much to report... I seem to have a new neighbor (upstairs?) who plays jazz on his/her radio/speakers non-stop... this is a new situation, so we’ll see... I may have to invest in some fancy earplugs...

I finally got up the energy to clean my apartment, so that feels nice. Also was able to take care of some things in the To-Do list... so good enough day, I guess.

PPQ, here’s hoping your son has a good connection seeing friends...

Lav, I’m glad the kids appreciated your dinner for them - that was very kind. How is your garden doing? Are you putting some things under, or not yet?

Mick, crossing fingers for all to go well with the van, that’s exciting. Good news on the tomatoes...

That’s it for me tonight - sleepy, so will go to bed (with the fan on so I don’t have to hear the upstairs person’s TV on all night!)

          May we be well... 💚

              MAE ALL...

Guess I didn't post yesterday, not surprising, I don't know if I'm coming or going. I am sure looking forward to this weekend.

Mick...hope you get news of the van early in the week. You're probably anxious to get it. Bridge is over for me for now. It's back to work on Thursdays. I don't know if it'll last long they've only had 5 people sign up and they need 8 for it to run.

TG...I know all about noisy neighbours, believe me. It was a happy day when they got evicted. Hope you were able to get a good sleep.

Lav...we will probably X-post. It was a better than OK day today with the boss being off. I sure manage to get a lot more done when he's not in. My son's group of friends are really supportive of him and with a carpentry project that will keep him busy. I'm banking on the no news is good news theory.

I am totally wiped out so am going to log off and relax. Hope you all have a good night....:smile:PPQP

                Re: 11 September

                Good evening friends,

Another nice day here. The tree crew was here for several hours taking down some dead trees out front by the road & trimmed the hanging branches over the chicken house roof. Just had that roof replaced a few years ago, want to keep it in good shape.
Craft show coming up next weekend on Saturday so I need to finish up soon. Hope the weather holds for us since it’s an outdoor event.

Cyn, sorry about the new noisy neighbor, geez. I can remember that issue in an apartment 50 years ago & also when we lived in an attached house. It can be annoying, for sure. Maybe ask the neighbor nicely if they can tune it down after a certain hour or something like that. Glad you’re feeling more energetic, that’s a good thing . Our veggie garden is completely done, had an Amish kid here one afternoon to clear it all out because it looked like a jungle. YB plants all that stuff but doesn’t take time to care for it properly because he’s busy driving his customers to the produce auction & back, haha! I’ve learned to leave my flower beds pretty much alone to let the pollinators have a place to hide for the winter.

Mick, good that you’re finally enjoying your tomatoes. Even with you being away so much I bet your garden never got to looking like a jungle Lol
We had the Amish kid back here again this afternoon helping yB move lumber & crushed stone into place for the new gazebo bein delivered Monday. I will not get into that back breaking work haha!

PQ, hope yuor day was OK + & your weekend is peaceful.

                Have a nice night all!

                  Re: 11 September

                  Mae all -

Oh you will all think I've lost my mind... I DON'T have a noisy neighbor!! The problem was my own radio in a cabinet by the wall... I must have turned it down at some point, then forgot about it. It was only this morning when I went to put the remote in the cabinet that I discovered the radio was still playing, softly! Sheesh. Sometimes I am really worried about my cognitive skills. I'm doing the NY Times group puzzles every day, hoping to stay sharp.

Lav, I do think Long Covid is playing a role... I just never know when the 'exhaustion' is going to hit... This morning I got myself out and about to do things like try to solve my Cox (internet, etc.) account, Verizon to see how I can remove my husband's name and change the account, and go buy some decent athletic shoes. I had an early lunch out, as I was getting loopy, then went home and slept for another 3 hours... WTF? I'm not sure what's going on, but I hope soon things will stabilize. I did find good athletic shoes... but when did they get so expensive? It was like purchasing a one-way flight!!! Ah well, really my first time with decent shoes. I like to walk here at the complex and in the near neighborhood and plan to do a lot of it, so I guess it's worth it. Good luck getting everything ready for your sale next week!

PPQ - good to hear that you are getting your things done when the Boss isn't around... there's such satisfaction in "crossing things off the list". Good to hear about your son - hope you have a good weekend!

Mick, I've recently read two stories about the Queen's pipers... I find it remarkable that she was awakened by a piper every morning! And also I read about the previous piper -- that the wind came along and blew his kilt up... he was a "real" Scotsman, apparently. He said they both had a good laugh at that. And that the Queen was extremely kind to that piper when his wife was dying of cancer... she helped the family come live closer, and told him not to hesitate to go to his wife if she needed him. What a kind heart in those ways the Queen seemed to have.

Well, hopefully tomorrow I will stay awake better! Happy Saturday to all -
                  TG

                      Re: 11 September

                      Hey kids,

                      It’s 7:30 pm & I’m still stitching away, Lol.
We went to an Amish store today where they sell crafts made out of old barn wood. I picked up something that YB can turn into a display rack for me to hold little things like lace ornaments. He made one in teh shape of a Christmas tree years ago & I’m still using that one. This one will have more of a Fall theme.

Cyn, I promise you are not the only one doing dumb sh*t, haha. Last week I stopped my embroidery machine mid-design because I knew it was going to need a new bobbin soon. I took the old one out & then decided it would be a good idea to put a drop of oil on the bobbin case then restarted the machine without putting the new bobbin in - crap!! It took me an hour with scissors & tweezers to put all the threads out of the machine, DUH. I think we have a harder time multitasking than we used to have, you know? Don’t worry yourself about that stuff, just try to stay safe & be sure to turn the burners off before yuo leave the kitchen, haha. YB is famous for leaving them on & to think he’s been a volunteer firefighter for > 50 years.
I agree with you on the cost of decent shoes but your feet will thank you

Mick, glad you’re having decent weather too. Tomorrow it’s supposed to be more humid here but not jot so that’s OK I guess. Good luck detecting!!
We certainly haven’t seen any frost yet here. Yeah, the gazebo was all YB’s idea & he’s paying for it so why not? Hahha! There’s plenty of fresh veggies at the Amish stores so I’m not worrying about gardening. We have green beans &lima beans canned & tomorrow our homegrown onions will be canned because they’re hard to store for a long time.

Hello PQ, hope your weekend is nice.

Hellos to Pauly & Det & Sam.

                        Mae all -

Mick, holy cow, so what is/is not worn under the kilt is really a big deal... I had no idea! So glad that you are excited about the new van, it sounds great. Hoping that your day out detecting is a good one. I look forward to seeing those ancient coins.

Lav, thanks for the reminder about the stove - actually, I have to be very careful, because it's been a long time since I had an electric stove. So I have a "messaging" system that I use to make sure I don't forget which burner is still hot after I turn them off... I have a wire circular thing that I put on the hot burner. And I check to make sure the burner light is off before I go to bed. Ho Hum, the ageing brain!

PPQ - hoping that you are having a well-deserved restful weekend.
