23rd October
Hello everyone how are we today then question mark hope everyone is doing well. This is just a quick posted on my phone, as I am just leaving my brothers. It has absolutely hammered down with rain all day, it is probably the worst I have seen for a long long time the roads are absolutely flooded, however it has now stopped. It has been a great weekend really enjoyed the van, and seeing all the other vans at the show, however the prices on some of them are unreal. Should be home ma in about an hour's time from now, fingers crossed and no traffic jams hope everyone has had a good weekend and. Speak later I have to go and pick the rabbits up first thing in the morning, because they are at the vets tomorrow so it will be a busy day for me.af since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12 -
Re: 23rd October
Greetings friends,
Raining here right now Mick. Trying to keep my eyes on this kitten & making sure she gets enough time with her mama outside. Two weeks old today & she’s weighing in at 11 ounces. My grandsons were just here & they had a ball playing with her.
Glad you enjoyed your rainy getaway Mick! Do you think after seeing those expensive motorhomes anyone will actually go buy one? It may be cheaper than buying an actual home in the long run.
I hope the rabbits are happy & healthy when you pick them up.
Cyn, I saw your post on the other thread & was wondering about your return trip plans. Most definitely get on the road ahead of the snowstorms.
You’re not the only one dealing with reduced stamina & I didn’t even have Covid. I think it’s just my age to be honest. I think I can do everything only to find out I just can’t anymore. Oh well, shouldn’t complain. I’m happy to put the work in for the craft fairs (while ignoring housework of course). I’ve donated $500 to Ukraine relief agencies so far & want to keep that going as well so I’m stitching more items for that today
PQ, hope your day was a good one. How’s the snow situation?
Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam.
Have a nice night all!

Re: 23rd October
Hello all - long day today getting everything wrapped up for my clients... as much as I think it is about organizing “stuff”, in the end i see it is the companionship and simplifying their lives that really matters to them. We all cry when I have to leave.
Off early tomorrow to get to somewhere in VA, then next day on to my cousin’s near Cashiers, NC. After that, the weather will make my plans...
A little anxious about this trip, but I think once I start driving i will be fine...
Cheers to all - more tomorrow night...

Re: 23rd October
Welcome home, Mick! That is one sleek-looking motor home van.
Tree girl, yes, I can see that the main part of the service that you are providing for your dear clients is companionship and simplifying their lives as they age. What a wonderful ministry!
Yes, this aging is feeling scary, Lav. Maybe I should have tried harder to stay in the lonely marriage. Now I’m trying to go it alone, and with two bad knees! At least the one with the new fracture should heal in time. Well, I have simplified from a home down to a condo anyways!
Tomorrow I start babysitting my infant grandson one day a week. I’ll have to get up at 5:00am in order to get there on time. Daughter will have everything centered in the living room for me. I have bought a cane now, in addition to the walker, to a help me get around in the small living room.
I wish you all a good day!Last edited by Slo; October 24, 2022, 08:01 AM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

hi pauly ...how are you ?
A man went to see his priest and stated in a very serious tone, "Father, something horrible is happening and I must talk to you about it".
"What is wrong, my son" asked the priest?
"My wife is poisoning me" stated the man.
The priest, very shocked by this, asked, ""How can that be"?
"I'm tell you, Father, I'm positive she's poisoning me. What should I do" the man pleaded?
"Tell you what. Let me talk to her. I'll see what I can find out and I'll let you know" said the priest.
A few days later, the priest called the man and said, "Well, I have spoken with your wife. We spoke on the phone for almost four hours. Do you want my advice"?
The man anxiously replied, "Yes".
"Take the poison" said the priest!
A drunk staggered up to the hotel reception desk and demanded his room be changed.
"But sir," said the clerk, "you have the best room in the hotel".
"I insist on another room!!" said the drunk.
"Very good, sir. I`ll change you from 502 to 555. Would you mind telling me why you don`t like 502" asked the clerk?
"Well, for one thing" said the drunk, "it`s on fire".
Two businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves set up.
One said to the other, 'I bet any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling'
No sooner were the words out of his mouth when, sure enough, a curious senior walked to the window, had a peek and in a soft voice asked "What are you sellin' here"?
One of the men replied sarcastically, "We're selling ass-holes".
Without skipping a beat, the old timer said, "You're doing well. Only two left".

Dear Walter,
I hope you can help me here. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't driven more than a mile down the road when the engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help.
When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbors' daughter. I'm 32, my husband is 34, and the neighbors' daughter is 22. We have been married for ten years.
When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I'd leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. He won't go to counseling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore.
Can you please help?
Sincerely,
Sheila
Dear Sheila:
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it's clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires.
If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors. Mainly have your air filters cleaned or replaced.
I hope this helps with your problem.
Walter

"What's the lady doing mummy" little Johnny asks?

Re: 23rd October
Greetings friends,
Cool & damp here again today. I was planning on sticking close to home anyway.
My grandson had a apparent low blood sugar episode at school this morning so nurse Lav brought him home, fed him & he perked right up. I need to get a message across to his parents about not letting him leave for school without eating, duh. He’s almost 14 so I gave him an education of the need of keeping his blood sugar stable & sent him home with some ideas I think he’ll like. I don’t like to eat early in the day either, never did.
Cyn, wow you really are doing some traveling. I am amazed at your ability to travel from one end of the country to the next like that. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers for a safe trip. Get yourself some good rest in between locations
Slo, I hope your babysitting goes well & you have an easy time with your knee. I think your new condo is a blessing for you right now considering your mobility issues. Waiting for the other to change his attitudes & behaviors is useless, I certainly found that out. Keep your focus on yourself, your healing & your ever growing family
Mick, why am I having your weather? HaHa.
Glad to hear Jeeves is doing so well, he certainly is getting good care. I have a great schedule worked out with Luna, we are now sharing kitty care pretty well
The Victorian Christmas market sounds really nice, enjoy that!
PQ, hope your day was good.

Re: 23rd October
MAE ALL...sorry for MIA, it was quite the weekend. No issues with work but we got clobbered on Saturday. Woke up to about a foot of heavy wet snow and it continued to snow all day. With the trees still having their leaves and all the heavy wet snow there were lots of downed trees and power outages. Thursday it was 77F, Saturday 30F. We're going to sit around 42F for the rest of the week but at least there's no snow in the forecast. It'll take awhile to get rid of what we got. Discovered when I left work today that the boss logged into my Facebook account to post something on our business page. OMG! The next thing I'm doing is changing my password. We will sort out getting the business page of my personal account tomorrow. Geeze!
Just quickly read back so here goes...
Slo...so good to see you joining this thread. Sorry to hear about the bike accident, hope your knee heals quickly. Speaking from experience I think you made the right choice to leave a lonely marriage. Hope to get to know you better as the days move on.
TG...I hope you got your clients sorted and that you headed East. You keep an eye on those weather forecasts and get home safely.
Mick...glad you're home safe and sound and it sounds like your weather is same old, same old. At least it's not snow! Glad your pocket book didn't take too much of hit at show. LOL
Lav...I hope your grandson heeds the ideas you sent him home with. You don't need to be rescuing him from school because of poor parenting and at 14 he'll need a lot of nourishment. I'm glad you and Luna have worked out an acceptable schedule for the both of you. LOL
Making hamburgers for supper tonight so must get on it. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

SLO, nice to have you here... good luck with all those life changes, you are brave and it will all work out.
Lav, is there only 1 kitten left? I love to hear that you and the kitty are “partners.
PPQ, jeez, so sorry about the snow... I arrived in Connecticut in 2012 to 30” snowstorm... power was out for a week... I hope it all gets sorted!
Mick, what great news about Jeeves! And your travels sound wonderful - so glad you like your van, it sounds wonderful.
Well I put on the miles today - about 8 hours of driving... I touched all these states - CT, NY, NJ, PA, Maryland, West Virginia. Whew. Tomorrow a little shorter (and hopefully drier!)
Wishing all well -

Re: 23rd October
Mae all ..how are we doing?hope everyone is doing good. Been in the garden tidying up and playing with the rabbits..after I had washed the van down. Well that's us got yet another prime minister..See Joe Biden got his name wrong...and Sunak was educated in America too.Lets see how long this one lasts. out tomorrow, going up to Todmorden..to see a steam locomotive, the Sir Nigel Gresley. Its on its way back to the railway museum.
Hiya Slo..how are you today?yep the van might look OK,but its a pain one you have to wash it.How is the babysitting going, and more to the point you take it easy with those knees no running for you.
Hiya teegee. Wow that's some travelling!! Has it stayed dry for you?yes it's brilliant with the little fella. The van is good..couple of little jobs to be done but nothing spectacular you take care and stay safe on your travels
Hiya ppqp how are things with you then?are you still getting rubbish weather,?your boss is bang out of order using your password. Change that password and make sure you log off
Nope wallet didn't take a spanking, but it has recently so,no harm in a lean month .no snow here. .yet
Hiya lav,how are you doing?hope all is good with you hey,no issues sharing our weather with you..I am sure you will return the favour. How is your grandson doing today,?I know that feeling of not wanting to eat early. When I was a soldier, not having breakfast was a chargeable offence, and if you passed out or fainted on the regimental run which was first thing in the morning, you were charged with self inflicted injury
Yes I'm so chuffed with Jeeves and how he is. How is Luna and the kitten?
The victorian market should be good..I remember it from last time..take care and have a good day.

Re: 23rd October
MAE ALL...
TG...wow, you do put the miles on. All the roads are clear but the temps have been low and below freezing overnight so there's still a lot snow around. We're going to warm up through the weekend but then alas winter will be back. You take it easy with all that driving.
Mick....so good to hear Jeeves is doing great. I missed the Joe Biden mistakes and me thinks if Sunak doesn't last there'll be an election on the horizon. Is Todmorden very far? Yes, I was quite shocked that he used my password. I'm sure it's nothing that couldn't have waited. I don't do much on Facebook but still. We're trying to figure out how to make him the page owner and getting me off so I can delete it from my personal account. What a pain! That's some pretty strict rules about eating breakfast when you were a soldier. I guess it's true that breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Lav...I'll check back later to see how your day was. Hope Luna and #1 are ok.
Time to figure out something for dinner. Something's got to break with these food prices! Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Good day here, busy, busy!
PQ, so sorry about the snow, yikes!! I just wouldn’t be ready for all that yet so bless you!
So how did the boss manage to get your FB password? You better get that fixed, haha!
Cyn, I can’t believe you did all that driving, wow! Hope today was a much shorter drive for you. Enjoy visiting with your friends
Mick, you are a regular train chaser, haha! Glad to hear someone is getting out & about. I feel like I have been stuck here for year (because I have). I guess I’ll do more traveling in my next life. Enjoy the Victorian gardens.
Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

Re: 23rd October
Hiya all how are we doing today?hope everyone is doing well. Went for a walk over the moors with my friend this morning. Only walked about 7 miles that was enough..the weather couldn't make up its mind..one minute sunshine the next ..hammering down. I then went up to see that loco really smart..apart from the rain. Jeeves is a little star. I can honestly say the vet did a brilliant job
Hiya ppqp..how are we today?did you change your password?don't know how you could make him the sole.ownerof the site. Iam sure doctor google will help out. Weather forecast for us ..is snow on the way. Take care
Hiya lav..miss Daisy is a little belter. Are you keeping her?...go on .I don't do sitting in the house, just looking at the figures..America paid out 3.2 billion dollars for the booster scheme for covid. And the take up has been 9% of the population..wow.
Take care

MAE ALL...
Lav...Miss Daisy is so cute! I had the login and password written down as it does hold the company's page. I didn't realize when I sent him my last password list that it was on it. Lesson learned. I hope your day wasn't as busy as yesterday.
Mick...I thought the expression was Ambulance Chaser. LOL Just a little walk, 7 miles! Any pictures of the loco? I'm so glad Jeeves is doing so well. We're you able to sort out meds with the vet? I haven't changed the password yet as I thought we were going to figure it all out. But apparently it's not a priority for him so I will be changing it tonight. To hell with him. Wow, that's a lot of money to spend with only 9% taking advantage of it.
It was a quiet day at work, getting lots done. Other than that nothing startling going on. Have a peaceful evening all....:smile:PPQP

Re: 23rd October
Hey friends,
Mick - here’s the latest info I could find on vaccines. Don’t know where you heard only 9%, that’s way off. US Coronavirus vaccine tracker | USAFacts
Calmer day around here thank goodness haha!
Daisy is weighing in just under 14 oz now so she’s doing well & very happy
Picked up my grandson today & he’s feeling better & listening to my advice on macronutrients for growing teens. His mother seems to be clueless & not a healthy eater herself.
Mick, my feet just won’t take me 7 miles - just a big NO, haha! Glad you were able to do that though. Nice to hear Jeeves is doing so well. I will probably end up keeping Daisy since my daughter has been unable to locate a friend willing to take a kitten. She’ll keep me on my toes I think
PQ, locking the boss out of the account should get his attention, haha!
Glad your day was manageable.
