    Re: 23rd October

I guess a white van gets pretty dirty, Mick. Good thing you purchased it when the prices were lower and the wait wasn’t so long to get it! Thanks for the funny jokes.

So I guess Boss was fairly innocent when he used your password, PPQ, if it was listed right on the sheet.
That’s a lot of snow! I hate when the heavy snow falls before the leaves are gone. I hear we might be in for a Winter with low temps and high precipitation.

Well this is exciting about little Daisy, Lav!
You can tell your grandson Mick’s story of when he was a soldier, Lav; to underscore the importance of having enough fuel in the tank for soldiers and growing teen boys! My daughter couldn’t eat that early in the morning either before school, due to so early and also time constraints. She sure would have liked to have eaten during the lengthy bus ride though, but it wasn’t allowed.

Tree girl, hope you arrived safely to your destination.

I feel like crap: caught a cold or virus from the baby that has been steadily getting worse throughout the day. Also constipation that won’t budge despite Milk of Magnesia use as well as psyllium powder (limited activity, use of pain pills, ran out of my higher fiber bread…). I canceled physical therapy for tonight.
Must remember: no kissing irresistible babies! They’re little germ factories!

    Take care out there.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

      Re: 23rd October

      Good evening friends,

Can’t believe it’s dark already & I haven’t put the chickens to bed yet haha! Everything is OK here at Lav’s zoo, everyone fed & watered at least.
Just put another cute pic of Daisy & mama Luna on FB. Current plan is to keep them both, will see how that goes.

Mick, we had a rain free day today after 4 days of rain so it was much appreciated.
The updated covid booster only became available in September & I see that article was from September. It takes a while to motivate people but I did get mine because I know better.
Tell Jeeves I said to SIT, haha!!

Slo, the dangers of inactivity are real. Can you get ahold of some Colace, maybe even some Ducolax? They should help with the constipation related to pain meds. It’s tough, I know.
Was the baby sick when you watched him? What a shame you picked something up already. There are so many viruses hitting children right now, hospitals are filled with RSV cases. Kids certainly are germ factories, especially the ones going to school, ugh. My daughter works in schools & she’s back to full time masking again. Take care of yourself, get some rest

Cyn, hope you are safe somewhere.

PQ, your day was Fab, right???

Hello to the others & hoping everyone has a nice night!

        Re: 23rd October

Mae all - everything is fine with me... but between driving and then being a house guest with my favorite sweet cousin, there was no time off except to fall into bed!
I left the mountains of western North Carolina this morning, and have just arrived in Evanston, IL. Checked into a hotel, will eat dinner and go to bed. (For some reason I was awake in the middle of the night, so I am sleepy now...)

Please forgive me for not writing more... tomorrow I will get to Kansas City, then Saturday a few hours more driving will get me home to Nebraska, (in the daylight...)

Love hearing what is going on for all - I promise to address you all soon -
        Best to all!

          Re: 23rd October

MAE ALL...yes Lav, my day was Fab. LOL I have learned not to let the accountant get under my skin. Asked her if I could do A with a client and she came back with No, because of b, c, d, e so we should do F. OK, relayed that to client who said ok but then we have to do G. Relayed that to accountant who said Oh no, we should do A. I agreed and went back to my office just shaking my head. LOL

Lav...Miss Daisy looks like she's doing great. Cute pic of her and Luna, I'm glad they'll be staying. It was good to hear your grandson is feeling better and is listening to your advice. We did manage to get the boss on the Facebook page as an Admin, but not page owner, I'm working on that. Told him that once I get the ownership worked out I'm deleting my page and unfriending him. Figure then he'll have to do all the posting. LOL My password is now changed.

Mick...I'm waiting for the "surprise" it's not raining. LOL I'm sure you found something to do today. I'm doing ok, thanks. Sleep hasn't been the best but it's been improving every night. I've had some weird dreams so at least I know I've been sleeping. LOL Glad to hear you got the meds sorted out with your vet and paying cost! WooHoo, happy pocket book. It seems I've managed to sort out my workload schedule because even though I'm under the gun to get the Winter Programs up and running and the Newsletter articles are due at the publishers, I'm ahead of the game and not stressed about anything. About time!

Slo...yup, boss was innocent, my bad. I hardly ever post to my Facebook. Usually just check out extended family pics. There was nothing on there for me to be worried about and I'm sure he didn't even read anything. I am glad I got the password changed though, I can stop thinking about it. Our winter sounds like yours, low temps and high precipitation. I used to believe in the saying "When it's that cold it can't snow" but no more, it's been proven wrong. I only live a couple of block from work now so I don't stress over winter anymore. Sorry you're feeling like crap and dealing with constipation. I always go to Lav for advice. With all the kids being basically quarantined for the last 2 years I think the usual flu/cold/respiratory viruses are going to be rampant. I'll be keeping to myself and staying away from the kids in our Out of School Care program. Hope you're feel better soon.

TG...let's see, it's Thursday for me so I guess you're still out East. Hope you're getting some me time and you pay attention to the weather before heading west.

Shout out to Det, Sam & Pauly, hope you're all doing ok. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

X-Post TG...good to see your post and that everything's ok with you.

              Re: 23rd October

              Greetings friends,

A bit chillier here today but not bad, no rain, yay!
I will be working this weekend as requests are coming in, haha. The zoo seems to be doing fine & I have a spaying date for Luna on Nov 29. Just hope nothing happens between now & them haha!!

Cyn, be safe & get some rest friend, you are quite the traveler

PQ, I congratulate you on not punching the accountant in the face, LOL. I can’t work with people like that, geez.
Sounds like the boss needs to learn how to use Facebook - good! How many people are there trying to drive you nuts all at once anyway???? Hope this weekend is restful for you & germ free.

Mick, hope your Sunday detecting goes off as planned.
We change clocks next weekend over here. Then the day light disappears for the long haul, haha. Loving the revolving door pic

Slo, hope your days was a bit better & your comfort level as well.

Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam, check in guys!

              Have a nice night all!

                MAE ALL....:yay: Weekend Again :yay:

Mick...it was blowy and dry here today as well. Hope the weather holds up for your detecting on Sunday, your days may be numbered. Go Jeeves Go! When dealing with the accountant it's more riding the "Merry-Go-Round". She can contradict herself in the same sentence. LOL Son is doing ok, he headed back up north to his friends place yesterday. Love the revolving door pic.

Lav...are these requests on top of what you needed to get done for the craft fair? It's next weekend isn't it? Glad the zoo is doing good and that Luna stays put, just one more sleep. Haha, yup I used to get so worked up with the accountant and I've made a concerted effort to control the way I react. I think I'm doing pretty good. There's really only 2 people but at times it feels like a dozen. LOL Weather is supposed to turn starting tomorrow and I gotta say with the new part time people working on the weekends, I don't think about work anymore. Their instructions are to contact the boss. I had forgot about changing the clocks again, we are on the same schedule as you, so thanks for the reminder.

TG...hoping you're doing ok and not going a mile a minute.

                Slo...things improving for you?

The boss texted this morning to say he was stopping at the hospital to see his Dad who had been admitted a couple of days ago. Guess he was at an AGM and had a reaction after eating, he is Celiac and then tested positive for Covid, no symptoms though. What the boss didn't realize was that when the hospital found out his Dad was the father of our Premiere they went into security lockdown. Took him an hour and a half just to get into his room. LOL

                Wishing everyone a peaceful evening....:smile:PPQP

                  Re: 23rd October

                  Mae all -
Another quick checkin from me... worn out from today’s drive from Evanston, Indiana to Kansas City Missouri. Lovely scenery the first hour on a quiet road, but then stopped cold for quite some time... the 18-wheeler that had gone by me earlier (carrying an immense, long concrete barrier) had gone off the road and flipped over. that was scary to see. It was the first of 3 slow-downs of the day... but seeing that first was very sobering. Had to get through St. Louis and then Kansas City at rush hour, no fun. But I made it! Tomorrow will be an easy 3-hour drive up to my home. I could have tried to get there tonight, but I’m glad I planned on this last hotel... I don’t drive at dusk ( fearful of the deer) and I am tired enough to go to bed right now (7:45 pm!)

Anyway, wishing everyone well and healthy, and I’ll reply to each of you soon!

                  Cheers,
                  TG

                    Re: 23rd October

Hello everyone and how are we today then? hope everyone is doing well. It is pretty cold over here today, and has only just stopped raining now. It's pretty dark and the clocks go back tonight. I am going metal detecting tomorrow morning and getting picked up at 5:30 which in real time will be 4:30 a.m. I'm getting to the stage where I'm getting up before I go to bed! Rabbits are doing well well, because of the rain they are in the conservatory and they have a box full of straw which have hidden things in, so you can guess the mess they are making!

Hiya teegee do you never stop? Many years ago I hit a deer it bounced off my front bumper sort of shook it's self and ambled off whilst the front end of my car was totally wrecked. Are you resting up for the weekend? Or more travels to follow. Take care and look after yourself

Hiya ppqp..yes it is the weekend. I take it you are having a quiet no work orientated one. Didn't quite work out the boss dad and premier bit,but I guess it must be important .hope you have a great weekend

Hiya slo hope all is well with you?hope you are feeling better.

Hiya lav.. how are you today then? don't you worry the rain I'm sure will be on its way full stop you seriously think you are getting off scot free when I'm living in puddles? Haha. Take care look after yourself and the zoo

Right folks time to go..have a great weekend

                      Re: 23rd October

                      Hello to all,

That’s true about hitting a deer in the dark/dusk: one jumped right in front of my car a month ago. I was the third car of three in a row on a rural road, and it just suddenly ran up a steep gully in between our cars, right in front of mine. There was nothing that I could do, it was so close; but I was saved by the deer running very fast. But it made me realize that I can’t take that rural route home from daughter’s house in the dark; I’ll have to go the longer way that sticks to main highways.& freeways.

Geez Mick, that is going to make for a very early day tomorrow!
The bunnies are going to have some fun finding the hidden things!
I like the cake & game joke -ha! And yes, my foot did start going counterclockwise!

Yes, I hope Luna doesn’t get pregnant again between now & Nov. 29th.
Daughter D3 should be 38 weeks pregnant today!

I feel a little less like death warmed over today. A neighbor brought me over some chicken noodle soup! That was nice.

                        Mae all -

Thank you all for your concern and for the good wishes... I am home now, and even though it is not even 6 pm, I am in my jammies, on the couch. Heaven. Yes, I take the deer very seriously - I am very relieved that I got through all that rural driving without incident, whew. Now I have to watch out for the crazy drivers here in this city. Honestly, why is everyone in such a hurry? It is so dangerous - I had to come home on I-80, which runs through the center of town... but as soon as I could I got off and came in on surface streets... people are driving like it is the Le Mans race. And there are so many accidents! Sheesh - so I am trying to be aware, careful, and stay out of everyone's way.

Mick, how did detecting go? I loved the pics, and am so happy you are "training" again. I love the thought of the bunnies searching for treats in the straw... like their own halloween

Slo, I was glad to read that you might be feeling a bit better - sending hopes that the virus is on its way out. Enjoy the weekend!

PPQ - good for you for your patience! And getting back to "A" - fantastic. I admire you for keeping your cool and getting people to "yes". Wow, so your boss's' family has to all live in a fishbowl now that his sister is Premiere... that might get long... hope he's alright with that. Sending you good "restful" vibes for the weekend.

Lav, good luck with Luna and the little one... I hope all goes well. Since you haven't posted before me tonight I am thinking that you are hard at work at your embroidery... or is the show this weekend? Sending you good luck either way...

Hello to Pauly, Sam, Det and all else that drop by... may we be well...

                          Re: 23rd October

                          Good evening friends,

I had another busy day planned but one of my grandsons asked if he could come over for the afternoon & I can’t say no. He spent a few hours playing with the kitten & eating. Then we took him out for dinner then dropped hm off at home haha! Non-stop eating at age 11!!! Sunny & cool today heading down to 37 tonight! No rain until Monday evening when the trick or treaters are out, oh boy.

PQ, yes I am filling requests for non craft fair stuff. Regular customers are good to me Lol.
That’s a shame about the boss’s dad. I’d be afraid to eat out if I was Celiac, really. Hope he’s OK. My daughter has been home sick for 2 days with Covid symptoms but none of their local stores have any tests. It seems no matter how hard we try we’re still not getting ir right ;(

Cyn, I imagine. You are happy to be home by this time. Such a little traveller you are
Driving at dusk is scary even without the deer & horses & theoccasional cow roaming the roads around here. Glad you managed to avoid them. Get rested up now

Mick, good luck detecting & your rain will be here Monday evening in time to mess up Halloween. No kids trick or treat down here but they do up in town.
My zoo residents take up a bit of time each morning & evening but all in all not bad.

Slo, hard to believe another grandchild will soon be here. That’s one busy family you have there.
Feeling half. Alive is better than feeling half dead, haha. Glad you’re seeing some improvement.

Hello to the rest & wish everyone a nice night!
