    Re: 30 October

PQ, you’ll have enough candy at work to keep the office candy dishes filled until next Halloween.
Sounds like the accountant has her good points too. And you can roll with her otherwise, after dealing with the last boss and the prog coord! I wonder if those two really were sleeping together?!

I grew up on tuna noodle casserole, and I actually liked it too.

TG, such a long, intense day of learning you had on the computer yesterday, ouch. Good for you for taking on the challenge.

I found myself emotional and thinking about the dead souls in my family yesterday too. Maybe it was the All Soul’s Day holiday getting to me.

Our weather continued to be absolutely gorgeous, sunny & warm here; and, thanks to getting my broken knee/leg adjusted, I’m getting around better! -so was able to maneuver the baby outside to see all yellow dancing leaves up & down street; piles all over the ground, street, & sidewalks; still on the trees too, and dancing through the sky as they continued to fall off.

          MAE ALL...

We got clobbered last night. With the rain, then the freezing and then the never ending snow what a mess this morning. Thankfully my neighbour had shoveled a path to his wife's car and then shoveled around my car. Good thing as the snow was over a foot deep. When I got to my car he walked over and started clearing it off. I had actually been dreading that. He said there you go, I can enjoy my day knowing that you'll be able to see where you're driving. Some neighbours are worth keeping. LOL

TG...wow, you just never stop. Good luck with the online class, are you using zoom? I now type my longer posts in word and then copy and paste them onto the thread. The quicker I get on and off the thread the more successful my posts are. Hope you got a good sleep last night.

Slo...congrats on the new arrival. What fun. I don't think "those two" were actually sleeping together, but you never know. It's great that you're able to be more mobile, I'm sure the walk in the leaves was fun. Enjoy your weather while it lasts.

Mick...we had quite the wind today too and with all the snow we got visibility was very limited. It's a good thing you kept your old computer. We hired a company to clean up our website and eventually move it over to them for hosting. The cleanup isn't going as smoothly as I'd hope, none of my online forms are working at the moment. I request people to fill out that form at least 4 times a day so it's really putting a kink in my workload. Oh well, it's their problem to sort out! Yes, our procurement rules are basically the same as yours. I just want to see their contract and how much he's paying them. It stopped snowing about 3pm this afternoon but I just heard on the news we're still under the snowfall warning and that it should stop again sometime overnight. Dang, I was hoping I wouldn't have to clean the car off in the morning. We were sitting just below freezing today but starting next Monday our high is only going to be 1F! That's not a cat!

Lav...hope your day was good. I'll check back later to see how you're doing.

          Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

            Re: 30 October

            Greetings everyone,

Good day here today, decent weather & lunch with old friends from work
The colors are very pretty outside, leaves falling like crazy. We don’t rake anything, the leaves eventually are mulched with the lawn mower. Luna & baby Daisy are happy with our arrangement. I can see Luna is trying to begin the weaning process but I haven’t been able to get her interested in any cat food yet. I’ll keep trying, I’m stubborn too haha!

PQ, that cabbage casserole is even better the second or third time around, Lol. I make it to suit our current diet using turkey in place of beef or pork like the original stuffed cabbage rolls. I keep the salt content low & use lots of other seasonings, yum. Sorry about al the snow but glad your neighbor was there to help you out. We have neighbors with snow plows & they come over pretty quickly to clear the driveway so we’re not stuck here.

Cyn, wishing you good luck with your project, sounds big & exciting too.

Slo, Congrats on the new grandson, such wonderful news & addition to your family. Glad you’re feeling stronger & more mobile too. Keep enjoying this nice weather while we have it because it won’t last forever.

Mick, figures you’d have a coal burning laptop haha!!!
My grandson asked me to take him to Walmart after school because he needed to buy a new keyboard. He had the money for it so off we went. He said he spilled a drink on the old keyboard & you know what that does, haha. Great black cat pic!!

Hello to the rest of the folks & wishing everyone a nice night.

              Re: 30 October

              Mae all -
Time for bed for me... another interesting day getting info and figuring things out. I gave myself the gift of watching an Acorn show as a perk this evening... Mary Berry (who has a cooking show or something?) goes around to the great houses of England and Scotland and shows the history, cooks a bit and they end with some great feast. Tonight I watched Scone, Scotland. (Mick, it was news to me that Scone is pronounced Skoon! Is it that way for the Scones that one eats as well?)
This place looked absolutely divine; a salmon river, pines, rolling hills, deer, peacocks... and the episode ended with them dancing reels after dinner. It looked like such fun... (PS - this place is where the Scottish Kings were crowned. The actual stone is now in Westminster, and Charles will be using for his coronation!)

So that was my big thrill for the day, otherwise working away on several challenges I have set up for myself... going to drop into bed soon.

PPQ - so glad you had help with brushing off the car! I hope he shows up again in the morning... I had to do that for several years in MN... no fun. Good luck with the snow and the cold...

Slo - congrats on the newborn in the family! And glad to hear that you are able to have quality time with the little one close to you!

Lav, you have time to look after the kitties and to cook while getting ready for Saturday? You are remarkable... good luck with all.

Mick, sorry about the computer, but glad you kept a little coal in the house for these circumstances... Hope it all gets sorted...

I'm off to bed now - wishing all a good night tonight, and better weather for you tomorrow Mick (and you too PPQ!)

              Cheers to all -
              TG

                Re: 30 October

Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope all is well well. As as I speak I am waiting on a call from the computer repair shop, the computer went in this morning it needs a new hard drive and a new disc player. The whole lot will be done today day and and at mates rates is £90 which isn't bad really considering he is replacing the hard drive and updating it. The weather over here is absolutely glorious today, no wind not a cloud in the sky just blue stop
I will have to reinstall everything on the laptop.
Hiya lav hope all is well with you today. I've been putting out bird feeders to try and attract some of the birds as yet magpies and pigeons!!!both rabbits are outside atm..he is eating she is lying in the sun

Hiya teegee how's you then?Reading your post nearly made me homesick. Scone as in eating is pronounced scown with the own sounding like own if that makes sense .but as you say the throne of Scotland is pronounced scoon..when are you off on your travels again?

Hiya ppqp how are things with work?all OK I hope. Its my friends birthday today, he lives in Calgary, was going to go out on his bike depending on the weather. Hope you have a good day.

Hiya slo hope you are well.

                  Re: 30 October

                  Howdy,

I sent yesterday’s glorious Wisconsin weather off to you for today, Mick. Today is still pretty warm, but blowing a hooly out there! But a far cry from PQ’s snow & cold, anyways!

No, I can’t take the baby for a walk with my broken leg, but I did maneuver him outdoors to sit with me on the front stoop the other day.
Today is the day that daughter D1 finds out if she’s having a boy or a girl! I can’t wait to find out! I put my guess in for a girl.

Lav should be buckled down over her embroidery machine today, after taking time out yesterday to shop with grandson and lunch with friends!
I guess sooner or later Daisy will try some kitty food.

Interesting that the boss hired his own three kids to teach skating! Yes, there needs to be some transparency there about what he’s paying them.

Well I learned that there’s an important town in Scotland called Scone that is pronounced differently than scones! I like watching PBS too. I need to see if I can still get into my PBS Passport now that I moved.

I tried to use just my quad cane when I went to get my hair cut today, and that was a mistake. I still need the walker. Off to PT! (physio)

                    Re: 30 October

                    Good evening friends,

Still nice weather here, grateful for that.
Tomorrow I will pack up everything & get the truck loaded so we can get out of here early Saturday morning, probably around 7 ish. One more craft fair on Dec 3 then i’m done for the year.
It’s obvious Luna is weaning Daisy, cutting feeding times shorter but i still can’t get her interested in kitten food. She will realize she’s hungry, sooner or later.

Cyn, I love the PBS shows too. Glad you found one you really enjoyed.
I really can’t eat pizza & other easy things for dinner so if I want to eat, I have to cook. Lucky me, huh?? Haha!!!

Mick, sounds like you’ll have a brand new laptop after all that work, cool
Glad you’re back to decent weather too, long may it last.

PQ, hope your day was good & not snowy or anything.

Hello to Pauly, Det & Sam.

                    Have a nice night all!

                      MAE ALL...

Good day at work, I seem to have everything under control. LOL Boss had a look at the Winter Programs and was shocked to see 30 new classes starting in January. He said he was impressed with how much work I put into getting all of them online and the changes/updates to the website. That was nice to hear. Apparently the budget has been approved by the board and he's working on staff letters for salary increases on our next pay cheque (retroactive to Sep 1st). I am very curious to see how he acknowledges my added programing responsibilities.

Lav...sounds like a nice day yesterday, enjoy the good weather. Yes, my neighbour was greatly appreciated. I hope you're done stitching and ready to load the truck tomorrow. You're right, Miss Daisy will eat when she gets hungry enough. No snow today but we were treated to what's to come for next week waking up to 3F. Took a little extra scraping to get the ice off the windows.

TG...if anyone deserved to give themselves a gift it was you, well done. I hope you had a good night.

Mick...I've had to start replacing hard drives in the computers at work. They just can't handle the latest software programs. In my case though I don't have to reinstall everything as it's all stored on the server and I just have to log them in and it downloads on it's own. Hopefully this new hard drive will last a long time for you. Nice score on the price. Sounds like the peskies are doing just fine. I did see a couple of people out on their bikes today, I put them on my "You're out of your mind" list. LOL

Slo...and I thought you had actually gone to a miracle worker but now it makes sense. At least you were able to be outside the other day. You'll have to let us know if you guessed right with a girl. I'm assuming the boss will have to get his kids to sign an instructor contract like everyone else. I'll be able to see what their rate is then. You take it easy and even though things seem better you still have to go slow. Don't want to reinjure anything.

Shout out to Det, Sam and Pauly...hope you're all doing ok.

It's chicken wings and french fires for supper tonight. Quick and easy. Have a restful evening all...:smile:PPQP

The jokes are hilarious, Mick! And slowly but surely you’re solving your computer problems! I solved mine by no longer having a computer; just an iPad and a phone.
No -I can’t figure out why you have to be married in order to share pension benefits with Julie, but other citizens can just nominate a partner. But -glad you are, and happy anniversary! And, I did finally see the cat in the “crow”.

My cat just threw up again, the noise of which sent me running to try to catch it before I had to clean another carpet stain. And that is contraindicated for both knees! Gah! I was cleared to go down a flight of stairs once per day, so I was able to go back to cleaning my own litter boxes in the basement today.

If anyone deserves a pay hike, it’s you, PQ! I hope it’s a sizable one.

It just poured rain all afternoon. And I had large bowl of oatmeal for lunch, then promptly conked out for a nap all afternoon. I guess waking up at 4:30 and 5:30 am the last few mornings is catching up to me.

Hope your challenging projects are going well, TG.

Good luck, Lav, as you pack up the truck for your early day tomorrow.

Am I ever glad it's the weekend. Event tonight and tomorrow night so phone off again. LOL

Mick...the sun was shinning here today and it actually got above freezing. You should see all the slush! It's all going to freeze up tonight and snow starts again tomorrow. We are headed into a deepfreeze, highs around 1F all next week. Nice job getting a booster put on the laptop. The rules are crazy. In Alberta if you live together for a year you are considered married. After 17 years it was time for you to commit thought. LOL Love the 80's joke.

Slo...I still can't see the cat in the "crow" LOL I liked your solution to your computer problems. Actually I know a lot of people who only use an iPad. They are useless with their phones though. Are you cleared to go up a flight of stairs once a day or are you now stuck in the basement? Thanks Slo, I think I'm entitled to a pay hike as well. That's about what time I've been waking up these days. It's going to kill me turning the clocks back this weekend. LOL

Lav...I hope you're all packed up and can put your feet up for the evening. Yeah right! Good luck tomorrow.

Shout out to Det, Sam, Pauly and TG. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                              Hi friends,

Yep, the truck is all packed up for a 7:30 take off in the morning. I have to get the chickens, dog & cats squared away before I leave so that’s why I need to pack up early. Can’t do all that on one cup of coffee in the morning, haha.

PQ, sending you some warm thoughts for an early melting, geez!
That’s great news about the pay raise, yay!!

Mick, Happy Anniversary to you & Julie!
Glad you have some decent weather, enjoy

Slo, those afternoon naps can be very healing, don’t knock them. I’ve been waking up frequently the past two nights but the moon is getting fuller & it always messes up my sleep.
We have an old cat that throws up almost daily, ugh. My dog almost never does that, haha. Hope your weekend is good.

                                Mae all,

Lav - sending you huge wishes for a great sale day Saturday! EEEk, you have to make the stuff, load the truck AND deal with all the animals? Seems like a lot... good luck!

Mick - glad to hear that your computer is all going great guns now... we have become so dependent on them. Happy Anniversary to you and Julie! Thanks for clearing up Scone and scone pronunciations. And thanks for the hilarious jokes - that is second only to the kids in the car with the foggy windows... do you remember posting that one? It also features a Welsh joke...

Slo, for someone who is supposed to be healing, you are doing an awful lot!! I loved that PPQ was wondering if you had to stay in the basement. Please take care, and as Nurse Lav said REST!

PPQ - great idea to give you a raise! I hope he follows through with it - you have done remarkable things at the center. So sorry about the snow; we are supposed to get a few flakes tomorrow, but it will warm up enough to melt them.

I had a wonderful dinner with a 93-yr-old friend and her daughter. Noisy restaurant, and my friend is hard of hearing, but still it was a good time. She is an original, and i get a kick out of her great comments about life.

Working on various projects, was able to stay focused a little longer on each one today, so maybe I am getting over "car-lag". Sending best wishes to all, and a shout-out to Pauly, Det, and Sam... hoping all is well for you. Hello to those dropping by...
