Good morning,
Young daughter & I made it to our destination! The length of the journey is determined by how it goes getting through Chicago traffic, and that didn’t go well; adding on at least another hour to our drive. But we’re here now!
I got to meet my new grandson Andy! He sure is a long, lanky little guy! And very scrawny so far, but hopefully he’ll keep getting better at nursing.
We will celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow here, and today will make a pie and things like that.
Mick, such a true article about the truth about our “Thanksgiving” celebration. The native Americans have the right idea by having a “Day of Mourning”. I hope curricula are changing in schools to reflect the truth more.
It worked, Lav! I went to bed after 11:00 pm, and woke up past 6 am instead of at 4 am!
TG, you know all too well what paulywogg is going through this first holiday, having just had to go through that yourself. I’m thankful for you that moving near extended family will give you a better holiday this year than the last three have been.
This is my first Thanksgiving alone after divorce, and it is jarring. I’m thankful that I was extended this invitation back in September to come meet the new baby over Thanksgiving, so I knew that I would have someplace to go. The holiday time does bring up feelings of grief and misgivings.
PQ, that was a major effort to launch that large craft fair! No wonder your body crumpled into sickness right afterwards! But yes -what a feeling of accomplishment that it was such a success.
Happy holiday celebrations to Lav & TG today, and happy Thursday to Mick & PQ!
