    Re: Dec 4th ish

The fence joke is clever! Also Spelling bee and Minnesota.
Thanks for explaining the tale of two Julie’s, Mick. Now we get it!

I had acupuncture done on my knees on Monday, and it was great!! There was a big blockage near my left inner elbow, related to the chronic pain problems in my right knee replacement knee. I go back next week for more work on that. Already walking better and more, and graduated from the walker to the quad cane!
Then today I had another appointment with my chiropractor / homeopathic / kinesiologist guy. He did some auricle acupressure on my right ear to help the replacement knee, and also pushed the femur back, back into position. Much better! Also adjusted the fibula some on the fractured knee, and last week he pulled on that leg so that it wasn’t shorter than the other one (probably related to the injury). So I’m getting some real help!

My cat is at the vet getting the vaccination that the boarding place requires, and also getting a urinalysis to make sure his infection cleared up. Of course he peed in his carry crate, so now I had to leave him there for awhile so his bladder can refill. He’s still a boy! Sort of.

TG, are you in the sandwich assembly line today at the homeless shelter?

I used to love taking my kids sledding and taking them to water parks, and participating in all of that with them. It’s weird to be old now, and not able to do those things. But like Mick, my original knee injury that set all the problems with it in motion was from when I was young! Then you pay for it later in life.

What’s for dinner tonight, PQ? I have leftover baked chicken, green beans, and brown rice.

MAE ALL....what a gorgeous day, just a little difficult maneuvering around all the slush. LOL Difficult long term renter showed up today unannounced, needless to say anything extra will be added to their contract. Accountant continues to baffle me, at least she asks before doing something stupid. I've learned to hold my lounge and just shake my head when she leaves. LOL Other than that it was a quiet day and boss let me go early to make up for the late Friday.

Mick...sorry to hear about Jeeves again. Trust your gut. The vet will keep an eye on him tonight and hopefully tomorrow he'll be back to his rambunctious self. Sorry, but I don't want the cold weather back yet, I'll let you know. Thanks for clarifying about Julie's Dad, was really hoping it wasn't anything too serious. I am definitely glad not to deal with the prog coord before Christmas. I will really be surprised if she comes back in January.

Slo...wow, I didn't even know we had all those parts in our body. LOL You're braver than I am. It's ribs, rice and caesar salad for supper tonight. The kid ate all the caesar salad last night so I want more. LOL

Lav...will check back in a bit to see how your day was.

TG...what good deeds did you get up to today?

      Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

        Hey friends,

I’m here, just met with 2 customers so they could get their pillows & things then we ran out for some greasy hamburgers, haha. Not my usual dinner choice but I’m not feeling like doing a lot of cooking & we had to eat. Cloudy & drizzling with a ton of fog out there tonight, not fun for driving.

PQ, I’m still trying to get used to the new ‘he’ pronoun, haha. The kitten is happy & doesn’t seem to care what he’s called haha.
I’m looking forward to a mental rest from the craft fair frenzy this winter

Cyn, I used to love baking big like that for my girl scouts, haha!! I hope it worked out well for you.

Slo, I hope Boyd did OK today.
Sounds like you’re really covering all the bases in your knee treatments, awesome!! I hope they all pay off for you.
I miss those long grueling days of watching the grandkids when they were little but to be honest, my energy is just not there for that anymore so enjoy it while you can.

Mick, I sure hope Jeeves is OK. Do you find that he has these episodes more so after he’s been boarded for a few days? Just wondering if it’s something to do with that.
Thanks for clearing up my confusion about Julie’s dad. Now that you explained it I remember you talking about the other Julie before. Our temps have been in the mid 50’s all day, still 52 now.
I think there’s more rain on the way, we’ll see.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

hiya all how are you doing? hope all is ok .Just been talking to the overnight nurse at the animal hospital.Jeeves very quiet and withdrawn ,but they have seen him eating a little reddi grass.I am waiting for the vet to phone, but I have a feeling that he wont be coming home today.Even the hutch in the garage is too cold for them,so Ive made a kind of bed up for them in the conservatory ,together with a heat pad for them to lie on.problem is persuading Bonnie not to eat it .

hiya Lav ,how are you after feeding at the greasy spoon caff?hope all is well...how is Daivy today after the vet trip?I do think Jeeves get a bit giddy with himself when he comes back from boarding ...there he is on hay and bought greens ,while when he is here ,he gets that plus the fact they graze on the grass here too.

hiya ppqp ...how are you then? hows the crazy account doing ? or more to the point what is she doing?...now are you sure you dont want some of this weather back......

hiya slo...how are you today then? hope all is well with you ..wow sounds as if you are going for the full service!!!!good for you .as we get older these engines need a lot more maintenance!!!hows Boyd ..hope he is ok and the infection is clear .

right folks just a quickie ...hopefully the vet will ring in a few minutes ...take care all.

Oh Mick!!! I just read up on the last two days, and here at the end was your message. I am so sorry for the stress of these situations... but you are right to see if he bounces back as he has so many times... you were so good to trust your gut and get him to the vet... big hugs to you, friend... we pay a price for the love we give these sweet creatures, but it is so worth it... 💜💜💜

Mae all, I was worn out last night from the cold and the intense work on the food prep... yesterday was a warm meal; Mac and cheese with green beans and ham... it is good that these folks are getting “real” food... we packed each meal individually in tin squares. Then stayed after to cut and wrap the brownies in plastic wrap - 2 of us made a full sheet pan, so that will be ready for next weeks’ lunch.

PPQ, that accountant is award-winning in her “creative” approach to the job... hope you are staying warm!

SLO, so great that you have someone who can do that kind of work on you - so glad to hear you are doing better!

Lav, well there’s a surprise! Twice in the last week I have mis-identified the sex of small children... note to self, just smile and nod, and no comments about “good girl“ or “good boy”!

Pretty bleak here today in terms of clouds and grey... I guess ‘tis the season - Mick, that black ice is scary... hope you can be safe out driving! - sending virtual hugs...

Sending best wishes to all, and hello to those stopping by...

MAE ALL...little cooler out today but not complaining.

Lav…I had a greasy hamburger for lunch, first one in a long time, and it was delicious. I’m looking forward to a mental rest from the accountant. LOL

                Mick...

TG…that is a lot of work, no wonder you wee worn out. Keeping fingers crossed this mild weather lasts for a while.

Quick post today as I’m popping out to renew my registration while the weather holds.

                  Good evening everyone,

Mick, I am very sorry for your loss. Please know Jeeves had the very best life he possibly could with you. No matter the quality of care we give sometimes we just can’t change things. Take care of you & Bonnie for now

Everything is fine here, got quite a few things checked off of my to-do list so I’m happy. No rain to deal with today so it was easier getting around.

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Slo & everyone.

                  Have a decent night all!

Oh, I’m sorry, Mick. I guess it is time if he’s so withdrawn and in pain. And he sure has had a lot of hospitalizations lately. Poor bunny. It’s sad for you, and him, and Bonnie.

Boyd is fine. I take him back in tomorrow for the vaccine that he has to have for boarding (he had to test negative for the disease first).

My knee replacement knee is painful and aching today. Sick of it. I can’t walk without pain.

Oh, the brownies are made ahead for the freezer for next week, TG! That wonderful place seems to run like a well-oiled machine.

I had my favorite lunch today, a greasy burger with fries! I wish it hadn’t been so greasy this time, but I do love burgers.

PQ, wait ‘til next month when you’re back to dealing with both the prog coord AND the ditzy accountant. No wonder the boss is so happy to have you there.

Mae all, a bit dreary here... warmer, but foggy and damp... I guess I just prefer the sun, cold it not.. but we have had many sunny days, so it’s all good....
                        Mick, sending support...
Lav, hoping you are catching up on rest... how is the “new boy” in town treating you?
SLO, sorry about the knee pain... do your lotions help? Maybe it needs some rest, you’ve been so active...
PPQ, I hope this is a calm Friday for you - are you still in the deep freeze?

The painters/plasterers seemed to finish up on their part of these apartment hallway renovations... so I have done (another) deep dusting and vacuuming. I’m sitting having a cup of tea - just doing that cleaning wore me out, very unusual, I used to clean a house 3 times this size! Ah well...
                        take care all,

                          MAE ALL...

Mick...sorry you have to go threw this again, it must be really hard on you. They become part of the family and are truly loved. How is Bonnie getting on. Any improvements? You take it one day at a time and things will get better.

Lav...all sounds quiet at your end. Always good to get things checked off the list.

Slo...I hope the knee has improved.

TG...I feel tired just reading your post. LOL You take it easy, it sounds like you've got some recovering to do.

Busy day at the community centre and I'm not at all happy how the boss is dealing with things. So I will be turning my phone off and what happens, happens. Not my problem. Still enjoying nice mild temps so plan on getting out tomorrow to do a few chores.

                          Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                            Re: Dec 4th ish

                            Greetings friends,

Feels colder today but it was in the mid-forties & the sun was out. Heading down to 30 degrees tonight.
Luna seems to want to resume her outdoor life for the most part so she was out all night for the first time since her surgery. Her choice I guess. Still baking & freezing Christmas cookies & taking care of other house chores. Daughter & her family are coming over tomorrow to help with a few things & I’ll feed them dinner in return

Mick, thinking of you & hope you feel better soon. You absolutely did your best for Jeeves, he was a lucky rabbit
Bonnie will be lonely for a while I’m sure. You take care.

Cyn, I’m with you in that I don’t care how cold it gets just so we have the sun
I have to admit every year I get older I have less & less energy to spare. I think I’m fine but in reality I just can’t put in those long & busy days, day after day anymore. I think we need to honor that fact as we age & don’t overdo things, right? Glad you are out & about doing what you enjoy doing, helping others.

PQ, turn that phone off & let the pieces fall where they may, Lol
It’s just not feasible for one individual to be in charge of everything & everyone. That leads to burnout, have been there & done that!! Enjoy your mild temps & have a nice weekend.

Slo, sorry to hear about your knee. It seems you have tried just about everything. Like Cyn said, maybe just resting it this weekend is in order. Have you tried Voltaren cream? I’m surprised how effective it is. I have also recently used CBD oil on my achy feet & that works too - fyi. Glad to hear Boyd is doing well.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

There’s no sun around here, and none expected in the 10-day forecast either. How am I supposed to make vitamin D?! A pretty snowfall fell today though.

We’re you with Jeeves at the end, Mick? They don’t think he was in pain, I guess; but still, it sounds like he was tired of fighting. Poor Bonnie has quite an adjustment to make too. You sure were devoted to Jeeves, and gave him a good life.

Yeah, keep the work phone off this weekend, PQ. It’s your time off. Let Boss deal with his own messes if you don’t agree with them.

I guess I did overdo my knees. I tried to go shopping in several stores the other day, as if I was normal. Ouch. That backfired. Still, I don’t know why this knee is painful with use if I’m 3 years out of the last surgery on it this month. Frustrating. I have been using CBD oil on it instead of Voltaren gel.

Good for you for getting all those Christmas cookies made, Lav! It will be fun & festive to work together with daughter’s family tomorrow, putting up your Christmas tree together.

I get so tired lately that I needed to take a long nap yesterday, then finally managed to sleep well through the night last night…but then crashed and took another long nap today! I miss youthful energy.

I have taken over from Jeeves on he who has to be washed and groomed. I need to get/make another hutch for bonding.
