    Re: 18th Dec

    Mae all,

Just getting unfrozen from the morning’s prep and assembling of meals for the poor homeless, and delivering some meals to my elder friends. Temps are supposed to go way low for the next 5 days, plus snow... I hope as many as can stay in will do just that!

SLO, congrats on your recovering/recovery... well done. As Lav says, stay off of the ice now! Good luck -

PPQ, you OK? Starting to get worried...

Lav, well darn for that bad weather... I sure hope that your meals work out so you don’t have to deal with extra food, but... who knows?! Sending you “no ice” vibes!

Mick, very funny about Mr. Short Legs!!! Sounds like you have a good plan in place. I hope Julie’s dad is doing okay... so nice if you to bring him a little celebration. And PS, I am
listening occasional to an Andrew Johnson Meditation teacher... a Scott, and his voice definitely reminds me of you!

Take care all - sending wishes for you to stay well and safe...

    Hello to all stopping by...
    TG

Hiya all how are we today then?hope all is well with everyone. Cold day today, and yes rainy too .shortest day today an officially the start of winter. Both rabbits doing ok though living separately .

Hiya teegee, firstly well done to you, going out helping the homeless and destitute..a lot are victims of circumstances and would never have dreamed of being in such a position. Julie's dad is doing ok..we have to take it day by day. You take care.

Hiya Lav,how are you today then?Still in the cold?we have got 8 degrees here today. I think you are right..the rabbits will sort themselves out ..my task is to make sure that they don't injure themselves in the process. The amazon return went well.as soon as it was recorded as having been returned, then we were refunded. I think Amy is getting another kitten. She keeps sending us pics of a little black kitten...hope you have a great day.

Hiya slo how are you doing, well done to you for walking unaided
How are you today,?Still as tired?I'm a wee bit tired too.I am doing this on my phone and to be honest I am making more mistakes than writing!!!hope you have a good day

      Hiya ppqp..hope you are ok..

Right folks wishing you all the very best

        Re: 18th Dec

        Good evening friends,

Rain, cold & windy here but no snow. Temps are plunging overnight, they make cancel the last day of school for the kids.
Wood stove is keeping us semi- warm haha! My daughter says they are not coming Christmas eve, her father-in-law is still. In iCU & looking pretty bad. They can be at the hospital in less than 20 minutes if they stay home.

Cyn, sure hope you’re bundled up & staying inside until this winter storm is over, dangerous out there!
I’ll get daughter & her family out here at a better time I guess.

Mick, it’s awful outside & I hope to bring the last of the stray cats inside tonight since it’s supposed to go down to 6 F plus all the wind.
Having multiple cats in the house is kinda crazy but they’re entertaining Lol. Hope the bunnies are staying nice & warm too

PQ, where are you? Hope everything is OK.

Slo, seeing pictures of a snowy midwest on the news oh boy. Stay safe, stay indoors!!

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night, stay warm!

          Re: 18th Dec

I’m really getting worried about PQ. Has anyone contacted her who can?

The negative F temperatures and the snow are here now, and the high winds are starting.

I got my hair cut this morning, and then stopped by my old house where the daughters are coming home for Christmas, to see the couple that are there now, plus baby Andy! -while ex-HB was at work. It makes me feel sad, like I wish I could be invited over tonight, or for a gift opening, with all of our daughters. It’s sad to be in my old house too, and know it’s not mine anymore. He sure has piles of gifts for our daughters, son-in-laws, and grandchildren.

On a happier note, a neighbor across the street invited me and other condo neighbors to her house this afternoon for apple cider, coffee, and cookies & treats. Etiquette I guess would have demanded that I bring a hostess gift, -but she put out the invitation just this morning, and I didn’t see it until a couple hours later even; so I didn’t have time to get anything. Oh well. But that was real nice! And it was nice for me that drinking wasn’t involved.

Interesting that you bring the stray cats inside, Lav. Very thoughtful! I guess if you feed them, then they’re sort of like your yard cats. Do they know how to use a litter box?
Sorry your Christmas Eve family gathering has partially fallen through, Lav.

That’s a great idea to get meals over to your elderly friends, TG, in this kind of weather.

Are you papier-mâché-ing over cardboard for your Hogwarts castle, Mick?

I’m tucked in my warm house, in double sweaters and under blankets!

            Mae all -
Mick, that’s great news about Amazon refunding right away, great! And yes, I guess the two furry ones will figure it out. Sorry that Julie’s dad’s health is sketchy... but you both give him support and love, and that’s a wonderful thing...

Lav, sorry about Xmas eve... it’s so sad for that accident to have created so much havoc and pain... I guess DIL is making a good choice... ICU is pretty scary. How on earth do you wrangle outdoor cats and get them to come inside? You might have to film it for us 😉 Good luck!

PPQ, what’s up girl? You okay? We are here for you!

SLO, I understand it how hard it is to be “surprised” by those big losses, even as you still have connections... sending hugs... stay steady - you are in a good place!

Well, like Mick, I am tired of correcting every other word, so... Sending love and comfort to all -

hiya all ,how are you doing? hope all is well with yall..pouring down with rain here..something has been digging in the back garden ...looks like possibly moles, they have been digging in the field too.Julie has gone down to the vets to pick up Jeeves ashes ,I couldnt do it .they will go under his favourite log that he used to sit on .Meanwhile the other 2 are sitting looking at each other ,the weather is too bad to let them out .I think we are going down to the other Julies for Christmas ,her mum is in hospital and likely to remain there ,but she celebrates her 60 th wedding anniversary today.

hiya teegee ...how are you doing?hope all is doing well with you .are you going anywhere for Christmas?

hiya Slo ...so its Slo in the snow ...stay positive ...one door closes...another one opens for you ..Ive made the castle out of card ,paper , and various other bits and pieces ,the base is made of initially polystyrene and expanding foam then shaped.Julies justgot back with Jeeves ashes ,they took some fur and put it in a little bottle and also a cast of his pawprint ..so its tears time again .

hiya Lav, hows you then? all good I hope ,yes the rabbits are definitely warm..on their heated timered blankets! We were thinking of getting a wood stove ,but tbh not so sure it would do what I want it to do..or indeed look the part .Ive seen one in a similar house and it looked out of place ,and didnt throw out as much heat as I thought it would.

              hiya ppqp...how are you doing?

What do you call a hippie’s wife? A Mississippi!

What did the duck say when she bought lipstick? Put it on my bill!

I hate Russian dolls. They’re so full of themselves.

Dear life, when I said “Can my day get any worse” it was a rhetorical question not a challenge.

I’m so tired of saying “Oh shit, my mask…”. Like I’m Batman or some shit.

What do you call a man with a rubber toe? Roberto!

Where did the computer go dancing? The disc-o!

Why can you never hear a pterodactyl going to the bathroom? Because the pee is silent.

What do you give to a sick lemon? Lemon aid!

What did the little mountain say to the bigger mountain? Hi Cliff!

One night an aeroplane was burglarized, and all the toilet paper was stolen. When the police came to investigate, their report was inconclusive, because they had nothing to go on.

What did the fish say when he hit the wall? DAM!

Maybe money can’t buy happiness, but I think it’s only fair to give to me learn that lesson myself.

                Re: 18th Dec

                Hey friends,

It’s frosty here, seriously frosty. The temp dropped 30 some degrees this afternoon, currently it’s 9 degrees F. Still very windy so the wind chill is way below zero.
Had a lot of rain yesterday so whatever was laying around has frozen. We piled a whole lot of extra straw in the chicken house so they can try to stay warm inside. Looks like our son & his family can get here tomorrow for dinner & gifts. Will catch up with daughter soon. They are awaiting an update on son- in-law’s dad but they haven’t heard a thing all day & the nurses are not getting on the phone. Don’t know what the hell is going on with that.

Cyn, hope you’re warm & comfy at home. I don’t want to go anywhere unless I absolutely have to, Lol

Slo, I’m sorry but it sounds like your ex just makes one a$$hole move after another. At some point I would think your daughters would just tell him to stop deliberately excluding you from family traditions. Did he ever really value you or your presence in the family? I’m sorry, I’ll shut up.
Perhaps you can get some brand new family traditions started at your new place & exclude him. In the meantime, stay warm stay safe & trust that everything is going to work out OK

Mick, it’s hard getting their ashes back, I know. You will deal with them when the time is right for you.
We keep getting Wind Advisories & the lights keep flickering. I know we will end up losing power at some point but at least we have the generator. I baked a Polish Apple pie today called Szarlotka. Looks good, saving it for tomorrow. I have dough rising for soft dinner rolls, also for tomorrow. Stay warm over there with those bunnies.

                PQ, are you OK?

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

hiya all..how are we doing today then?hope everyone is doing good ..its 6.35 am,still dark, but dry atm .Probably a good day to stay away from the shops ,apart from being rammed ,its ideal for spreading coughs and colds which seem to be in abundance .
hiya Lav,how are you doing today?hope all is good with you ..I had a look at the apple Szarlotka that you made..it looks good ...Both rabbits are about 2 inches away from each other in their separate hutches .We put Argyl on the petplan insurance yesterday, registered him with the vet,Also spoke to the boarding facility that my rabbits go to ,..they will take them as separates even if they arent bonded. So basically now its up to them to sort themselves out .hope your generator does the biz for you if the power cuts .hope you and your family manage to get together for Xmas .
Havent had anything back from ppqp..either here or on fb..I can only think she has taken a holiday break ..

Right good people ...no matter what you are doing ,I hope you all have a good Christmas .

                    Re: 18th Dec

It’s Christmas Eve! The big days have arrived.

I get to take it easy today; just get out to a couple of stores, make my food offering for tomorrow, and that’s it! I’ll probably watch ‘A Christmas Story’ once on TV too. No running the fireplace though: the gas company is asking that we don’t. They also want us to turn the heat down to 60-62 degrees! Don’t think I’ll go that low…

Is PQ at least posting on FB? Otherwise I really fear that something bad has happened.

You make homemade rolls too, Lav? And a fancy ethnic dessert -what a nice meal you are putting on for your family for Christmas.

Two daughters, a son-in-law, and baby Andy came over to my place last night for dinner!! That was nice. I made tacos, in order to accommodate gluten-free, meat-free daughter. They opened their presents. It wasn’t the giant gift-opening that they will have at their dad’s today, but they seemed happy with their gifts. And I had a much better December, not having to buy & wrap so much. Just like a normal amount for one person.

                      Re: 18th Dec

Now the energy company has lifted the conservation request, as the pipeline experiencing problems is fixed now.

So painful about Jeeves, to see his actual fur and all. But in time the little paw print and bit of his fur will bring more comfort than pain. You have chosen a great place to bury him, Mick.
Well it’s official: Argyl is part of the family now! It sounds like they’re getting used to each other, if they’re only 2” apart (with a barrier).
Ah, now I can visualize the construction of the Hogwarts castle!

There is sadness this Christmas, with other Julie’s mom dying and Lav’s daughter’s FIL dying…the life & death process doesn’t take a break for Christmas.

TG, I know you’re still grieving the loss of your husband too, and adjusting to different Christmas celebrations…

Anyways, I hope we all get through this weekend with some happy times included. And of course we won’t drink, because we don’t drink!

                        Hello friends,

Son & his crew have gone home. Dinner was good, everyone left stuffed haha!! DIL’s dad was here with them since he’s on his own now.
It was only 4 degrees outside when I got up this morning. Our wood stove had the house at 55 degrees - COLD, brrr. Showers are quick these days, LOL
Sending Hello greetings from Det - saw him posting on Facebook today & he asked me to say Hi to all. I haven’t seen PQ anywhere, now I’m beginning to worry about her too. Haven’t got any update today on son-in-law’s dad.

Mick, wishing you a Merry Christmas! The Szarlotka turned out good, everyone liked it I think.
I have lots of leftovers so no cooking for a few days. `I’ll just focus on staying unfrozen. Glad the bunnies are doing well, sounds good!

Slo, I’m so glad you had some company at your place last night. Stay positive & the good things will keep happening
The cold is really serious & so many are dealing with power failures
. I am seriously grateful for the wood stove, without it this place would be uninhabitable in this weather. Better times are coming for all of us. There’s no drinking thru our problems any more. We can hadle whatever comes, right? Stay warm!!!

PQ, sure hope you’re OK

                        Cyn, thinking of you!

                        Be` well everyone.
