Re: Jan 1st 2023
Boo! Sorry about all your rain, Mick! Depressing!
I went out for a very early steak dinner with my mother & sister for New Year’s Eve, and that was that. Mother wanted to go to the favorite restaurant that she & her now-deceased spouse frequented for one last New Year’s Eve before she moves away, so she invited me & my twin sister along. It was a good dinner.
Then I was in bed by 9-10:00 too.
What a nice gathering you had for New Years Eve, Mick!
I looked at that same sparkling apple cider when I was in Trader Joe’s last week too, TG! Wish I would’ve gotten it. Cut that with some sparkling water instead of concentrated cranberry juice. Next time!
I hope the chicken soup works, Cyn. My neighbor gave me some homemade chicken soup when I was very sick in October, and it worked wonders! I should make some to pay her back with.
I got to see young daughter a couple days ago before she left. What a healing balm to the soul to be back with my baby for a bit. I was with her on Christmas too, but that wasn’t the same since she brought her boyfriend along. She (they) flew out this morning to go to Puerto Rico for a 2-week training trip with their college swim team.
Happy New Year to all, and back to business as usual tomorrow!Last edited by Slo; January 1, 2023, 01:13 PM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

MAE ALL...
Mick...I see nothing's changed as far as "rain" is concerned. LOL I hope the weather improves so you can get on with the bonding.
Slo...I didn't realize you were a twin. Nice that you had a meal out for New Year's Eve.
I went up to my brother's for coffee this morning. It's been 2 years since I've seen them. It was nice to get out of the house! Got to get back to my routine as it's back to work on Tuesday. We're enjoying lovely weather, above freezing for the rest of the week.
Shout out to Sam, TG and Lav...will check in later to see how things are with you all. Have a good day....:smile:PPQP

Re: Jan 1st 2023
HAPPY 2023!!!!
Sunshine & fairly mild temps today for the first day of the new year (sorry Mick).
We actually packed up all the Christmas stuff today & put it away. Good to get rid of the clutter.
Mick, I hope you see some sun soon. I’m afraid you’ll be growing webbed feet soon, haha!
Hope your day was good.
Slo, nice that went out with your mom & sister. I hope to get together soon with my daughter, granddaughter & son-in-law. They are still waiting for his dad to loosen his grip, he’s in horrific condition in ICU. There’s absolutely no coming back for him & he’s just turned 86 a few days ago. It’s a terrible situation. The only time I get in a Trader Joe’s is when I go visit my daughter, love that. Store.
Techie, hello & Happy New Year!
PQ, so glad to hear you are out & about again. Stay on the positive side of life, everything will be OK.
Cyn, nothing better than homemade chicken soup. Do you still use your IP? I love dropping a small whole chicken in there & having it done in no time with no mess
I still miss my Curves shop but there’s nothing similar around. I’m not interested in the exercise places where all the youngsters go, haha!! I really. Do have enough gym equipment right here in myhouse, just need to push myself. Take care.
Hello to Sam, Pauly & Det.
Have a good night all!

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Mae all,
Techie, how nice of you to post good wishes! Thx, and right back at you!
SLO, sounds like you are having good family time... wonderful!
PPQ, great to see you... so glad to hear your weather is good for your last few days of break. Will you ge glad to get back to work? I crave routine, so though this break has been nice, I am ready to return to The World...
Lav, yes I did exactly that - whole organic chicken , an onion, and a few carrots in the pot
IP, and 30 minutes later, done. Yummy! Let’s hope it helps me heal.
Mick, dear me, all that rain... hoping for some sun to get to you soon! Happy new year to the bunnies... May it be a bonding year...
That’s me done for the night - wishing all well for tonight and the whole of 2023...

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Hi all -
Mick, glad to hear you saw the sun - yes, it still exists! Good luck with the bonding hutch.
Lav, are you happy and warm? Hoping that the Son-in -law has some closure soon... I imagine this is exhausting. Tell Luna and the gang hi from me...
PQ, hoping you are feeling ready to go back to work... is it tomorrow? Good luck.
Busy SLO, what are you up to? More baby time? Hoping you can stay well.
Short post from me... the soup turned out well, but it doesn’t seem to have made a dent in whatever this is that I have picked up... seems like a true “cold” at this point (not COVID, I tested). I made a trip to Whole Foods to get my favorite wellness supports... I had run out of everything! In truth, I can’t remember the last time I was sick (besides the milder case of COVID that I had in 2020...) Well, I guess I was due... but hoping this is not going to be a long one... I’m mentally over it already!
Wishing all well!!

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Oh no, too bad your cold or whatever went full-blown, TG. I hate being sick. Time to rest a lot and lay low for a few days.
Do your shoulders hurt because of the lying down position, Mick? I don’t know what to make of that. I mean, it wouldn’t be bilateral rotator cuff tears? You could try sleeping in a recliner, but that’s only a temporary measure. I’m getting relief in my knee replacement knee by rubbing in CBD oil. Have you tried that lotion potion?
It wasn’t that great of a New Year’s Eve. I mean, it was nice of mother to invite us for dinner, but she was kind of using us for props just so that she had someone to go with. It was dinner at 4:30p, then she dismissed us right afterwards.
Yes, I have a twin sister too, PQ. I’m sorry yours died. Mine has been the most supportive, most important person in my life. But I don’t know how long she’ll live if she doesn’t kick the booze.
When I say I saw young daughter, I mean I went over to my old house -now ex-HB’s house -but it was my house for 29 years until recently -we built it together -and visited with daughter briefly in her room. I brought her some cold medicine to take along on her trip. But ex-HB got home early, and was ticked that I was there. He wouldn’t speak to me, look at me, or acknowledge me. Daughter was uncomfortable that I was there then, and I had to slink away. So I got to see her, but not the generous amounts of time he got to spend with her over her Christmas break.
Yes, all the daughters swam; and young daughter stills swims, on the swim team at college.
What a terrible situation in the ICU, Lav. It’s just dragging on too long.
Good luck back at work, PQ.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Greetings friends,
Clouds & a bit of rain moved in just as predicted. My day was an absolute nothing, my choice, haha! I just needed a day off I guess.
YB is prepping for a colonoscopy tomorrow so I did no cooking & that’s a nice break. The cats are kind of crazy today, even thedog is staying away from them haha! Luna wants to say ‘hello’ I’m encouraging her to climb the cat tower in hopes of working off some extra belly fat haha!

Cyn, I sure hope you feel better soon. It’s the same with me in that I don’t get sick often but eventually end up with a major case of something or the other. Rest & more of that chicken soup should help. Take care of yourself
Mick, glad the sun finally arrived for you - it’s about time LOL
Maybe the rabbits were just waiting for a sunny day, who knows? I have a spray bottle of magnesium oil that I use on muscle aches, helps a lot. It’s not oily, more like water but you just rub it in & it seems to help. The CBD oil helps with aches that are more arthritic-like. I buy the magnesium oil on Amazon.
Slo, sorry to hear your ex was so ignorant. What good does it do him being so rude & childish?
I got word a few hours ago that son-in-law’s dad was removed from the vent this afternoon, I don’t think he’ll hang around too long considering everything, poor guy. My daughter will be my advocate if/when I’m hospitalized & not able to make my own decisions. I don’t trust anyone else to follow my wishes & I know she will since she understands what’s going on.
Hello to PQ, hope it was a good day for you!

Re: Jan 1st 2023
MAE ALL...
Mick...glad you finally got some sun. Hope you can figure out what's going on with your shoulders. I hope the new bonding hutch helps. Oh, I'm excited that you've done the first layer of rock for the castle. Yup, back to work tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it. I'm in a very positive frame of mind and am dying to see what's going to happen with the return of the prog coord.
Lav...I hope the situation in the ICU resolves itself soon. My oldest brother was in ICU but only for a few days before it was time to let go. Nice that you were able to get a break from cooking today. Love the pic of Luna, she looks so contented. I had a good day, mainly cleaning and laundry, but it felt nice to accomplish things.
TG...sorry to hear you're under the weather, hope your restocking of cold meds help. I hope you're feeling better soon. Yup, back to work tomorrow and I too am craving my routine and a return to the world.
Slo...well, your ex's attitude just sucks! Good job on getting a visit in regardless. You probably knew why your Mom invited you out for dinner anyways so just go with it. At least you got a meal.
It will be an early night for me and I'm quite excited about returning to work. The out of school care is closed this week so I will miss my coworkers but I'm glad they have good weather for their week off.
Shout out to Pauly, Sam and Det. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Hello everyone and how are we today then question mark well back to normal over here, the sun didn't put in that much of an appearance comma and we are back to normal again today pouring down with rain. At the moment I am in the greenhouse with the two rabbits happily munching next to each other will a wire fence between them my. Things go well when it's like that, Argyle has got two scratches on his nose now now.com uh but they are deep and will heal it's just where Bonnie has taken the fur off.I don't like it,but again it is part of the bonding process I guess.
Hiya ppqp, how are you today then?Best of luck at work today. I have finished the first layer on the castle just giving it time to dry.
Hiya lav, Best of luck today on your jaunt to the hospital. Hope all goes well for yb.tried sleeping in a different position later night..not as sore as normal, sometimes it isn't as bad that's what makes me think it's bursitis or something like that. Had a cracker this morning..went into the garage..could hear water dripping from the back of the washing machine as I moved it the cold water feed pipe snapped 😳 water pouring everywhere. Eventually turned it off after getting soaked new pipe on order..will be here tomorrow morning.
Hiya slo ,how are you doing?didn't realise that your Christmas was so unfriendly from your ex.concentrate on your good self. Life is too short not too.
Hiya teegee you doing ok?

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Greetings friends,
We had another dark & damp day with a bit of fog thrown in for the heck of it I guess.
YB did well today, no areas of concern but there is talk of a hemorrhoid removal at some point, oh well. Grateful our son was available to do the driving today, I stayed home
PQ, so glad to see you back in good spirits today! Getting on with life, as it is, not as we wish it would be was the hardest lesson for me. I was so sure things would fall in place if I worked hard enough, long enough……it doesn’t work that way in reality. My super stubbornness wasn’t helpful either. I hope the work situation moves in a positive direction for you. You’re absolutely right, Luna is contented & very grateful. I believe she’s an old soul, I just get that feeling from her. My daughter is at the hospital with her father-in-law & told me they have turned off the vasopressors today & all his numbers are slowly dropping. He should be gone soon, such a sad way to go.
Mick, happy. To share the rain with you Lol
Frozen water pipes - UGH. I was so worried we would have that problem when we were without heat. Sorry for the surprise mess.
These weird aches & pains we get at this age can drive you nuts. One day my right elbow hurts, the next day it’s my left hip, haha. There’s no rhyme or reason for it, just looking for a little comfort, right?
Hope you can something to manage the aches for you.
Cyn, hope you’re feeling better today
Slo, hope your day was good too!
Hello to Sam, Pauly& Det.
Have a nice night all!

Re: Jan 1st 2023
MAE ALL...wow, the day just flew by. Spent most of the day dealing with program cancellations due to low registrations. There was 4 new classes we were hoping to get off the ground as we really like the new instructor. We will try again with Spring programs. We are still up with registrations for our other programs so that's good. Program coordinator did not make an appearance and apparently something else has come up now. I will find out more when I meet with the boss for our first one-on-one of the year.
Mick...it's always good to have things back to normal, well maybe not when you're referring to rain. I'm glad to hear they will at least eat when they're next to each other. Me thinks the wire fence may be staying up for awhile. You would know about the bonding process, hope it all works out. I thought you actually had a cracker for breakfast this morning. LOL Sorry about the washing machine pipe, what a bother. Do you think it froze? Hope you get it all fixed tomorrow.
Lav...it was a warm, sunny day today. We have had our share of fog the last couple of weeks so was glad I didn't have to drive in it. Good job on getting out of driving YB today and glad there was no areas of concern. We really don't think the prog coord will be back but I'll find out more tomorrow. The boss is happy with the way things are going and it is very positive at work. It's a little strange without having the out of school open but with it being so quiet I can get a lot of things ready for the new year. I hope your daughter's father in law goes soon, just being in the ICU with my brother for those few days was hard enough.
Had a lot of event rental inquiries that I haven't gotten to, so that's my project for tomorrow. Then I'm off on Thursday for my birthday and we have no events scheduled for Friday or the weekend. I think this was the perfect way to get back into the swing of things.
Thinking of Sam, Det, Pauly, Slo and TG...have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Re: Jan 1st 2023
Mae all,
This virus is making nights very difficult... not fun, and then in the morning it takes me a long time to feel human... but eventually I do. I got some holiday things put away... still a day or two until xmas is over, so I feel in no rush... the little twinkle lights will stay on through the dark evenings... snow here, though we missed the terrible icy weather that was just north of us, yet another winter warning. So far we've been so lucky... bad weather has split around us...
Mick, love the pic of the two... the fence is that answer for now I guess... and yes, poor little guy, I hope he doesn't get any more "nose jobs". Sorry about the pipe... I hope the repair is easy, but what a pain in the cold weather... good luck with the pain in the shoulders... I often wake up that way, but eventually it dissipates. Good luck!
Lav, kind of glad to hear that the gentleman is just on his own life force... it's the best solution, I think. Hoping for a gentle passing for him. I love that you believe Luna is an Old Soul... sometimes animals do just strike you that way... glad she chose you. Great news for the colonoscopy, and that you didn't have to drive... here's hoping all stays well.
Slo, oh dear your ex sounds like quite the character. But I've been through that, and people just become a little crazy for some reason. Glad you can shake it off - so good that you got some time with your daughter!
PPQ - so the saga of the Prog Coordinator goes on, eh? Amazing. It was so good to read that you were excited to go back... working is a privilege, I think. Hard to do when one is self-employed, but work is a good thing in life.
I am not going in tomorrow to do the lunches for the people experiencing homelessness, but I had been given a task to do last week, and all the supplies to make 200 little cups of chocolate pretzels, with other stuff, (dip them in the chocolate, then put into the little cups, then top the cups. That was a lot for me to concentrate on! But I got it done and it's all packed up and by the front door... I'll have to set several alarms to be sure I get it downtown by 9:30... this virus keeps me awake, but once asleep I can't wake up! Looking forward to being done with the bug soon...
Hello to all stopping by - special love to Pauly, hi to Sam and Det, and all else who drop by...
