    Re: Jan 1st 2023

    Hi all,

PQ, I find I have to stay very steady with my daily food intake as well…very regular meals & snacks. Well, you played it just right with two half days instead of one full day off!
Glad you could get outside in good weather too.

Your granddaughter gets to visit where you went to church & school now too tomorrow, Lav. That works out swell for an overnight with her. Good luck with the emotional day and the travel tomorrow.

I’m not sure if acupuncture is working or not, Sam. It causes a tender area below my left elbow that is now migrating up above the elbow. This apparently correlates with the blockages in my right knee becoming unblocked. So I’ll hold out hope.
Did you finish up on the mountain?
That is true about school teachers like your daughter catching all sorts of things. My daughter was always sick when she worked as a Special Education teacher.

Well if Bonnie bonded with Jeeves, then hopefully she can do it again with Argyl. I bet you would welcome snow instead of rain for a change, Mick.

I guess little & often is the best way for us older folks to do cleaning and maintenance, TG. I’m an older folk: I turn 59 tomorrow.

I talked to my former sister-in-law on the phone tonight. She was married to my ex-husband’s brother. I was starting to think I shouldn’t be going to my niece-in-law’s wedding this Summer, because I learned that ex-HB is renting a house for him and all the daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren to stay in -and what would I do? I’d be very alone. But she (the mother of the bride) said I could stay with her in a condo that she rented!

Oh I can’t wait for this full moon to be over. I’m strung tight as a guitar string. I have to make some more changes in my detox diet (see “The Madness of Modern Nutrition”) in order to weather this side of the lunar month better. In addition to adding the B vitamins, I need to dial down the high fiber foods, and try dropping down the amount of zinc I take (so don’t push the detox so hard). I hope some of the knee pain is re-tracing pain from detox (re-tracing the site of former injuries), and maybe some of it will dissipate after the full moon.

Yep, here we go into the weekend!

      Re: Jan 1st 2023

      Mae all,

Great to hear from everyone how life is going!

Sam, hope the mountain job went well for you... keep those guitar hands safe!

SLO, sending best wishes for your knee to feel better... and glad that you have those wedding plans sorted... 😉

Mick, so glad to hear that you were a bit encouraged today about the bonding... I’m sending “bonding vibes” to your fur babies.

Lav, was the funeral today? I hope all went well... I love to think of you having your granddaughter with you this evening. How did the animals fare while you were gone?

PPQ, glad to hear you’re finding good, happy foods, that’s great. Feeding ourselves well is such a generous undertaking!

I may be seeing a little light at the end of this virus tunnel, hoping so at least. I did some errands out, but came back exhausted. I did pop into an art materials store for a gift, and loved being there, so I just wandered the aisles and took it all in. Maybe I’ll find a relaxing project there to pick up some time...

Wishing all healthy, safe, and happy - Happy Wolf moon -
      TG

          morning all,
a loverly day out, nice cool morning. pretty dang sore from work, didn't finish but oh so close, ran into a wall of laurel with 400' to go and the sun was going down, there always tomorrow. Ask Kevin McCarthy.

We've been working on a Richard Thompson tune lately, thought the title might be of note: "Down where the drunkards roll". Great tune, some interesting lyrics.

Lav, your link worked just fine, thank you.
          TG, all better? hope so
Slo, wow the knee thing sounds pretty painful.
Mick, good luck with that grape diet, stock up on toilet paper!
PQ, nice to have a "balmy" day in January.

lots of plats to draw today, probably only finish one. I'm kinda slow that way,
Have a good one, my friends

              Re: Jan 1st 2023

              Good evening friends,

The funeral went as well, weird thing to say but you know what I mean. Grabbed granddaughter right afterwards & headed southwest for 40 miles, haha. She’s fine, just chilling on her laptop in front of the fire. The church as absolutely packed today, don’t know where all these people came from or how they knew the deceased. Just glad it’s over & I hope to not have to go back there in this lifetime.
Clouds all day but no rain so that was good.

{Q, glad you’re getting a weather break right now, go out & enjoy.
It’s amazing how much out diet & sleep affect our bodies & minds especially as we age. Can’t get away with the stuff we did as young people. Takes us longer to repair the damage we do when we’re not taking good care. Keep up the great new habits, they will pay off in the long run

Slo, wishing you a ver Happy Birthday today & you’re still young!!
Have you ever consulted a pain specialist? I’m wondering if they would have any new ideas for your knee, just a thought. That’s nice that your SIL invited you to stay with her for the wedding. That should bring some relief so you can enjoy yourself. I spent most of last night wide awake due to the full moon too. Crazy how that works & grateful I wasn’t working a night shift, Lol

Cyn, we left here at 9:30 this morning & got back at 2 pm, all animals were fine, well behaved from what I could tell. Took me a few hours to locate Luna though, she was sleeping under my bed haha.
Glad you could get out for a little bit today. An art project sounds like a great idea. What do you like to do?

Mick,, sorry it’s too soggy for detecting after all the rain. Yo need a good dry spell before you go out I guess.
Hope the bunnies made some progress today.

Sam, looks like Kevin McCarthy got his way - prepare for the ton of BS about to rain on. Congress.
I guess the rain has held up some of your work days too. I’m hearing talk of snow soon.

              Hello to Pauly & Det.
              Have a good night all.

                Mae all -

Lav, the way you describe the day it sounds like you made a narrow escape! Glad that you could get out of there fast... and I hope too that you never go back! Awww, sounds like Luna missed you so much she needed to be close your belongings, sweet. I’m sure that you and granddaughter are having a fine time (or had) ... so great to carve out those special moments!

Sam, what an interesting song you are working on! 😉. 400’ left of something to hack down or remove sounds like a full day of work to me! Here’s hoping that all in your household are well, and stay well!

SLO, I ditto Lav re: staying with your SIL for the wedding... such a great solution! Hope your knee feels better, and you stay well in this New Year’

PPQ, here’s to a good weekend for you - I’m amazed at your temps... hope you can enjoy them!

I have a project I’m supposed to be working on for a client in CA... we had a long chat last night. She has RA and Parkinson’s and is in a rental in CA to be close to her son. Trying to help from afar is a little difficult, but we are doing what we can via FaceTime.

I should be putting (my few) holiday things away, but I have no interest in that, strange... I’m feeling a little in limbo... I guess that’s okay.
Here’s hoping that everyone has a good sleep tonight, the full moon has visited us ...

                Take care all,
                TG

                  MAE ALL...

Stopped in for a few groceries at noon yesterday when I left work and a warning "Engine Failure, Service Now" came on. Thought great, one more thing to deal with. Son ran the diagnostics on it and no errors came up. That was a relief. I hate all the electronics in these cars, so much to go wrong. Did get out for awhile today and then started getting calls from the part time staff that was working today. She couldn't get one of the doors unlocked so was going to pop over when I realized she could go in a different way. When I called her back she said she managed to get it. Then she called about an hour later about a program because someone had just stopped in to check it out. Told her that program had been cancelled. I thought WTH, why am I getting these calls. Then I got a text from the boss saying Sorry Jen is bothering you. So he was busy today and not responding to her.

Slo...nice that your SIL offered her condo. You go and have a great time. I wish you could get your knee pain sorted out, I know how exhausting that can be.

TG...got to love that tunnel light. LOL Hope this means you've turned the corner. Sounds like a nice way to kill some time wandering the aisles of the art materials store. Let us know what you decide to do. The holiday items will get put away when they get put away. No worries there.

Sam...good call on "there's always tomorrow". I'll have to check out the Richard Thompson tune. The weather has been a real treat after the deepfreeze just before Christmas. I feel like I can deal with more cold winter weather now.

Lav...nice job on getting out of there so quickly. LOL I hope you never have to go back as well. I think Luna missed you. We started Learn to Skate programs for children at the community centre today, what great weather for it. First day without the meds and everything went fine. Looking forward to moving on.

Shout out to Det & Pauly. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                    Re: Jan 1st 2023

                    Hello friends,

Yeah, how did the deceased know so many people, Lav?! Maybe he was active in the parish. Having to go back to my Catholic school / church where so many of the bad memories are…shudder. I take it you’re no longer Catholic either.

The sun was out today!!! I haven’t seen much of that orb in the last month or so! It was just how I like my birthday to be: sunny, some blue sky, and some snow.

But best of all the full moon is in the rear view mirror! Already the arthritic pain in my hands went away, the knee pain settled down some, and I feel calm and not so tired. Hallelujah.

I went out for a steak dinner with my twin sister for our birthdays tonight. That was lovely.

I agree, Sam: 400 feet of laurel to cut down sounds monumental to me!

Those 12 days of Christmas are over, TG; so the lil’ manger and angel went away today. It’s all snowmen now.
So you’re starting work now on your big project that will soon take you cross-country.

What a relief that your car is fine, PQ. Sometimes those lights lie. Thanks for understanding that chronic pain gets exhausting. I guess you know that from personal experience. I remember taking my daughters to the Learn to Skate program!

Tomorrow I head up early to daughter’s house for my oldest grandson Beckett’s 3rd birthday!
