      Re: 5 Feb

      Good evening friends,

We had a nice sunny not too cold day here, yay. Still wondering when the real winter gets here haha!
YB is improving, no temp spikes this afternoon, cold symptoms somewhat improving too. The big problem is he’s bored & grumpy not being able to go out to do his driving jobs. If he gets any worse I’ll be moving him into the chicken house!!

Cyn, does your elder take any sleep medication? She sounds like she’s having wakeful periods & becoming confused. Sleep meds don’t sit well with the elderly & are the #1 cause of night time falls.
Glad you are eating well & getting some good nutrition for yourself. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but so far I have no covid symptoms & I like it like that

Mick, I don’t know how you walk 11 miles & have the energy to do anything else!! I must really be a lazy person LOL
Hope the yoga went well too!!

PQ, hope you had a good not overly-stressed day today

Slo, thinking of you as well.

Hello to all & wishing us all a nice night!

        Mae all -

Lav, I’m glad to hear you are symptom free! I don’t think that my elder is taking any meds... I think the night wakefulness might have more to do with her loving sugary cookies, etc. before bed... makes sense that that might awaken her? Anyway, whatever...

Mick, a little walk of 11miles?! When I walked the Cornish coast, the 10-mile day slayed me! Clearly I need to work out more!

PPQ, hoping all your transitions are working out. Stay strong! Although it doesn’t seem worth it in the moment it TOTALLY is worth the next day!

SLO, sorry, I still seem to be out of your loop... wishing you well...

          Good evening,

I’m here now at D3 & son-in- law3’s house, and enjoying them and 3-month-old Andy this evening.

TG, I bet you get a kick out of your friend’s stories, and I don’t mind the repeated stories of elders either. It’s just fun hearing stories from their long lives. So special that she is your mother’s best friend. Cooking dinner for her is a win-win for you too.

PQ, smoking cessation is very difficult and not fun, that’s for sure; and it can take months. But your poor lungs can’t take it anymore, so I’m glad you’re biting the bullet and just doing it. Wish you could go into work early and get a little more done, but your body has spoken; so 4 hours max it is for now.

Cute pics of the bunnies together, Mick! I love yoga -you should have a good tired now after yoga.

Hopefully you don’t get Covid too, Lav. Good luck being patient with your “patient”.

              Good evening friends,

Well I’ve been dealing with a headache all (unusual for me). Checked temp this afternoon, it was 99.6. Uh oh. But now 3 hours later, without any intervention the temp is 98.2, headache not too bad so I think my booster is really kicking in, thank goodness.

Cyn, I couldn’t do Mick’s walks either haha! There would have to be an ambulance parked somewhere along the way Lol
All the old folks love their sweets. I used to hide the dessert on the dinner trays at the hospital to get them to eat something healthy first. I was mean, Lol

Slo, glad your enjoying your visit with Andy & his family

Mick, sounds like yo have bunny success there, good for you!
Yb is feeling mostly better today & I couldn’t stop him from going out to ‘do a few things’. I’m not the Covid police but I will make him do another test tomorrow.

              PQ, hope you’re OK!

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night.

                Mae all,

Lav, whew, I was glad to read that your symptoms improved! I hope that all continues... do you mean that the booster you got last fall seemed to kick in? Or did you get another one recently? I got all the most recent ones last autumn, as well as a pneumonia shot... putting off the shingles vaccine, but will do that also pretty soon... Good that YB got out and about a bit... I'm not sure the chickens would like him "nesting" with them!

Mick, congrats on success with the rabbits... you really have managed that whole thing brilliantly, and now get to see the results! Thank heavens you were the person to get Argyll... otherwise he might have been turned back or left on the heath again. Yoga for your shoulders? That sounds interesting. I'm going to be joining a nice gym soon - my doc says my "bad" cholesterol is higher than it should be (Altho the "good" is hi too). She says exercise will be the key for me - so off I'll go to the gym.

Slo, it sounds like you have a wonderful time with the babies and toddlers in your family! And your kids must be so grateful for the help. Good for you!

PPQ - hoping that your days are not too much for you, and that you can have enough time to "fill the well."

It is cold and massively windy here today (after an almost springlike day yesterday... but that's not uncommon here.) No senior duties this evening, so I'll rummage around and find some food in the fridge. I felt a little "down" today... not sure if it was the weather, or world news, or what, but those days come sometimes... I'm working on my Gratitude List this evening. Always SO much to be grateful for...

                Wishing all well -

MAE ALL...Apparently my post from yesterday is up in cyber space somewhere.

Had a good night last night and didn't take any meds before bed as I wasn't in any pain. Lasted till about noon today, when I took a couple of Tylenols. They seemed to work without the Tramadol so I think the healing is working. Still struggling with the no smoking but hanging in there. Sorry for not responding to everyone but I'm pretty tired tonight but glad I checked in.

Will post more tomorrow. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                    Re: 5 Feb

                    Evening,

I was low energy tired again today. Hopefully will have more energy tomorrow. I’m reading yet another book on “gratitude”, TQ.

D3 & her HB have Netflix here, so I’m enjoying this goofy little 15-minute Japanese show with them called “Old Enough!”, where they send little kids out to run errands alone, and see if they can do it! We also watched a good show about a Syrian competitive swimmer, a teenaged girl; who escapes from the war-torn country and swims in the Olympics as a refugee. And I watched more episodes of “Love It or List It”; a show that I liked last time I was here.
They got out for dinner tonight while I stayed with baby Andy.
Then we played Monopoly on an X Box! I’m finally learning a bit about how a game controller works!

I’m glad you checked in too, PQ; and that healing is happening.

Thankfully YB’s Covid has been not too bad, Lav.

Mick, “Wooden shoe!” and “Um…brella” are my favorites!

                    Sweet dreams…

And good afternoon everyone how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing good. Well the weekend is upon us, and it is pretty dry today day or so there is a good chance I will be out detecting on Sunday full stop has anyone else got any plans? I am doing this on my phone, as I am sitting watching the rabbits outside. They are getting better day by day.

Hiya lav how are you feeling today?have you still got a temperature?hopefully you have dodged the covid bullet. Yes the rabbits are doing good. You take and look after yourself

Hiya ppqp how are you doing?Well done sticking at the nosmo scenario. Yes it is difficult, think of it this way..every one you don't have is helping to to repair the damage caused by those you did. That can't be a bad thing. Well done on the medication as well full stop the last thing you want is to be addicted to tramadol! Are you doing anything this weekend or just taking it easy?

Hiya teegee how are you today then? Hope all is ok. Where are you for the weekend? Are you at home? Yes the yoga for the shoulders was pretty good. You don't realise how tight your muscles get when you don't use them. The class I go to to the usually do an all over session and then pick specific areas ie shoulders lower back legs Arms etc. It is quite a relaxed class with a good atmosphere which makes it more enjoyable. You always feel better after doing some physical exercise in either the gym walking or some activity like that at. It releases the endorphins and give you that bit of a boost. I watch the program last night on cold water and wild swimming, not something I've done my job at all all but apparently that does the same thing so I might have a crack at that next time we are away somewhere that is near the sea. Hope you have a good weekend.

Hiya slo sorry to hear you had a low mood yesterday, hope it has improved today. If you know how to work a game controller then you are one up on me I certainly don't! It's weird that you mentioned Monopoly, I was in a charity shop the other day and it was a will I won't I kind of situation I saw one of the original Monopoly sets in a charity shop the other day for sale. I was tempted to buy it it don't ask me why why I just do mad things like that filling the house up with junk! Is there an American edition of Monopoly or is it the British one with Mayfair the Strand and etc on it? Hope you have a good weekend and.

                      Washing in unison!!!

Lav...good to hear the temp went down on it's own. You may have a point about the booster. YB must be feeling better if he wanted to go out and do a few things.

TG...hope you're feeling better today, we all get those down days. Your gratitude list will give you a boost.

Slo...sounds like you're getting to be quite the gamer. LOL Hope your energy improved for you today.

Mick...wonderful to see the rabbits starting to get along. Looks like your hard work is starting to pay off. I have no plans for the weekend other that to take it easy. Was a little sorer today and did take a tramadol this morning just to give myself a break. I have to remember I'm still healing.

Got a lot accomplished today work wise and not feeling so overwhelmed anymore. Slow and steady I guess. Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

                          Greetings friends,

I felt so rotten when I got up this morning I did the Covid test right away & it was positive. Temp is bouncing up & down but I’m alternating Tylenol & Ibuprofen & that has helped with the headache.
Yb just did another test & he’s still positive although he feels much better. I sent him to pick up the grandson this afternoon & now I’m afraid we’ve both exposed him to the virus. I hope he doesn’t get it too.

Cyn, yep just like you I have gotten all the vaccines except the latest shingles shot. That one is next for sure.
We are having strange weather too, cold & windy or almost summer-like, weird. Hope your day was good

PQ, glad you’re getting along with fewer pain meds. Remember giving up smoking is much harder than giving up drinking BUT you will never ever be sorry. I’m so grateful to be done with both of those monkeys!! I hope your day was good

Slo, sounds like you’re having a good time with baby Andy. Netflix is very entertaining, a little something there for everyone.
My grandkids have X boxes & I still haven’t learned about them haha.

Mick, we have a Monopoly game, it’s an oldie but still fun every once in a while.
Looks like the bunnies have come to a compromise, that’s great. Temp was up this morning & the headache still there but I’ve knocked them both down alternating Tylenol & Ibuprofen thru out the day.
I hope you have another good detecting day this weekend.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

                            Mae all,

Well, can I get Covid from reading the thread?! I put in a big day of fully cleaning and vacuuming the apartment, took a shower, went to Whole Foods to round out the dinner I was going to make for my elder friend... and while at the store I felt a little sneezy, so I picked up a bunch of things to ward off colds, etc. When I walked into my apartment, I felt really hot, so I took my temp... sure enough, 99.5. I always take a Covid test before seeing my person - so I have lots around - and it shows 2 lines! I did a second one to make sure... same thing. So I called my elder and her granddaughter and told them I may be out for the week. Lav, I was so hoping you had beat it, but this is good info for me not to try to go back to seeing people too soon. I really was just dealing with a drippy nose (I thought from cleaning), but now my temp is up to 99.8, and I'm getting pretty achey too. Shoot!!!

Lav, how are you feeling now? Tomorrow I'll call my doc and see if I should be on Paxlovid or something. I'm happy to just hydrate and wait it out, but I want to do what is safest for the people I will be around. Good luck!

Mick, yes, I have heard about the cold water thing... there's a group in my old hometown of Minneapolis, MN that literally jumps in the lake each morning! I think I'll try to get my endorphins some other way! Great news about the rabbits!

SLO - wow, I don't even know what a "game-xxx" thing is! I have never played Monopoly... but it looks fascinating. Glad you're having time with Andy, that sounds great.

PPQ - good for you for monitoring yourself on the pain meds... sounds like you are making real progress. And here's a shout-out to you, a big YOU CAN DO THIS for the non-smoking... hard to think always of the long game, but Mick is right... good luck!

Okay, I'm gonna let this fever do it's thing and hopefully burn off this virus... I can't believe it... even though I know I had a mild case when my husband was sick, the test I was able to take was negative. After testing approximately a million times (a lot for work this summer), this is the FIRST time I've seen a Positive Test... But I wonder what the double line means? Oh well, I'm staying in until I get several days of successive positives. Glad I can still communicate with you all!

Take care. Mask up. Wash hands...

                              Good sunny morning,

Lav, you got TG sick with Covid!
That must have been quite a shock, TG, to see a positive test after all of the Covid tests you have done! Young daughter was blindsided the couple times she got Covid too -sure she didn’t have it, but then a positive test. I caught it from baby Mabel last year, and she didn’t seem sick that day either -but she had had a some clear nasal drainage.
I was glad that your husband has a mild case, Lav, so that you probably would too.

That must’ve been something to see an original Monopoly game from probably the 1930s, Mick. It would’ve been worth it if you actually play it some. But, D3 & her HB here picked up an ancient Clue game board set, and they don’t really want to play it because it smells the way old things that have been stored a long time do; like mildew or something. The X Box Monopoly game that we played is the American version, with Marvin Gardens and Park Place, etc. That is the one I had as a kid. I still play as poorly as I always did -no head for business!

Mick makes a good point; that every cig not smoked is healing the lungs…sort of like not smoking two, if that makes sense. I hope you have a weekend filled with lots of rest & relaxation, PQ. And the same to Lav & TG in the sick bay with Covid.
