Re: 5 Feb
MAE ALL...
Been a quiet day, didn't get up to much. Just taking it easy and getting ready for work tomorrow. Will talk to the boss about continuing my 1/2 day in 1/2 from home as I don't think I'm ready to go back full time yet.
Hope everyone had an awesome Sunday....:smile:PPQP

Re: 5 Feb
Evening greetings friends,
We’re back into normal temps here now, thank goodness. Apparently i’m not a Polar Vortex kinda girl haha!!
Did you ever get the feeling ‘someone’ was watching you? That happened to me this morning while I was in the kitchen. I turned around to look & this is what I saw through my deck door:
D55A7D9C-A9F3-4553-8541-4054EAAA6130.jpg
Yep, that’s Luna bringing me a fresh killed mouse, LOL. I know it’s supposed to be some sort of gift but really :egad:
Mick, hope your day was fruitful!
PQ, glad you are taking more time at home to help you recover. You know as soon as. Your back in the office full time they will be running you ragged. Take your sweet old time & continue healing.
Cyn, I’m glad to see your hours are being cut back a little too. Even a youngster can’t do that job 7 days/week.
Hope your day was good.
Hello to Slo, Sam Pauly & Det.
Ava, we’re always here - somewhere hahha! Glad tohave. You with us
Have a nice night all!

Lav, isn’t Luna SO generous, bringing you her mouse, LOL! Thx for calling me a youngster, which I am NOT... I think I was more tired than my 96 yr-old friend this evening. Strange, as I had my first full night’s sleep last night. Then as I woke up I saw 3 texts from my elder in the middle of the night - about feeling chilled and weak... of course I slept thru that! But I saw her at 8 AM, and she hardly remembered writing it. I think you might help me by suggesting some book on gerentology- neither of my parents lived this long, so I’m in new territory...
Mick, here’s hoping you had a comfortable and productive day detecting!
PPQ, I think your plan is really good... slow and steady wins the race... be truly well before you head back to work... sending you healing!
SLO, hoping all is well with you this evening, and all babies and daughters are well also...
Ava, good to see you! Take care and stay well-

Mae to all:
Boyd used to go out hunting in his younger years for mice & bunnies -yuck. When I started feeding him wet food instead of dry, his interest in hunting waned. Now he’s an elderly indoor cat.
I’m glad you slept through your elder friend’s nighttime text messages, TQ! Ex-HB’s sister texts her main caregiver a lot too. I think you will enjoy your time with her more now that it’s not every single night.
I got together with my former sister-in-law, her caregiver (whom I enjoy), and my sister today. It was a nice, gentle day together.
Yesterday my personal shopping assistant (young daughter) helped me find the perfect clothes to give D2 for her birthday this week! I’m hopeless at that on my own. We got good deals at Nordstrom Rack. Then we went (nearby to the store we were at) over to watch my sister’s best friend’s daughter play high school volleyball, and then we got together with them that evening at my condo and enjoyed some laughs and conversation. So I’m finding myself some little social activities that don’t involve drinking!
Hope your morning at work goes smoothly tomorrow, PQ. Keep fighting the good fight. Tomorrow we will hear about Mick’s treasure finds!Last edited by Slo; February 5, 2023, 10:59 PM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: 5 Feb
Hello everyone and how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing good. A very cold and frosty night, but the sun is out now now.im had the rabbits out for about an hour together this morning, Bonnie is still chasing, but nowhere near as bad as she was. Both rabbits were actually feeding together out of a tray this morning! It is a nice day apart from the cold, I have still got to check the van. Went metal detecting yesterday had a really good day that is the first time I had used the new coil, and it proved successful. I found an Edward the First Cut penny from about 900 years old, but I also found and part of a bronze age socketed spear that was made 900 to 1500 years BC, so it is at a minimum of 3000 years old! We have to go down to Julie's dance in a minute just had a phone call all the company that deliver his meals on a daily basis, one of their drivers has been in an accident on the motorway and therefore won't be delivering any Muse so we are going to nip down make his dinner tidy up and then make tea later on. Hope everyone has a great day comma remember every one of them my is here for you to enjoyaf since the fourth of July 2012...howzat then America..now proudly marching into year 12

Re: 5 Feb
Thank you for the reminder to enjoy my days, Mick!
That new coil did the trick: you got some really old finds while out detecting!
Sounds like the bunnies are going to make it together after all.
Thankfully that full moon is over. Although my mental, physical, and emotional trough from it wasn’t nearly as bad as it has been since I added B vitamins, cut down on amount of selenium, molybdenum, and zinc mineral supplements I take, and cut down on daily fiber intake. Basically backed off on provoking detox (of excessive vitamin A and copper) on my detox diet. Still -looking forward to feeling better for a couple weeks!
I’m managing my painful knee with Voltaren gel in the AM, CBD cream in the PM, monthly massage to break up scar tissue in the knee, and monthly acupuncture.
Today will pack and such, sleep over at Huxley’s tonight and babysit him tomorrow, then be ready to head out of town on Wednesday morning!Last edited by Slo; February 6, 2023, 11:58 AM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: 5 Feb
Greetings all,
Well, covid has finally made it’s way into this house
YB tested + today, had a 102.2 temp & a massive headache this morning. He thought he could complete a driving job for one of his Amish customers but gave up & returned home. That’s when I got the test out. I guess it will be my turn soon enough, ugh.
Nothing else going on here this week, just as well.
Cyn, I did not receive any gifts from Luna today, haha!
I can’t believe a 96 yr old is texting in the middle of the night. Do you think she’s just lonely? It sure sounds like it to me. I’ll see if I can find a book for you. I just don’t want to see you running yourself ragged & remember, some of their requests can be just a bit ridiculous. If. She truly wants someone available 24 hrs/day then she should consider a nursing home setting, honestly. You take care of you first!!
Slo, having a shopping helper is a must these days. I hardly ever get into a dept store anymore & would be lost , Lol
Glad you’re finding some AF social things to do, sounds nice. Hope your Huxley time was good
Mick, wow you really did have a good detecting day, very nice!
Progress with the bunnies sound positive & that’s great. Hope everything was OK with Julie’s dad.
PQ, hope your day was as pleasant as possible!
Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night.

Re: 5 Feb
MAE ALL...
Woke up early this morning and decided to head into work early to catch up on things and meet some deadlines. Discovered the boss had changed two of my programs without telling me which caused a lot of extra work for me. Had a Team Meeting this morning, we had skipped the January one so there was a bit to discuss. Then I met with 2 people to get them registered in a program and then with one of my instructors sorting out her spring programs. So I did end up staying longer than usual and it was just a little too much. Will go back to my morning 4hrs tomorrow. I did pick up my biologic so the injection should help with all the other aches and pains. I wasn't allowed to take it as long as I was on an antibiotic.
Lav...isn't it eerie when you get that feeling that someone is watching you. I love the fact that Luna wanted to give you a treat for all you do. LOL Sorry to hear that covid has made it into the house. Is YB one of those "no vac" people? Hope you're able to dodge it but at least you're fully vac'd.
TG...yup, going back to the original plan tomorrow, over did it a little today. I'm glad you've cut back a little on the support for your elder, we just can't do it all.
Slo...sounds like you had a good day yesterday with your visits. Hope you get a good sleep tonight in prep for looking after Huxley tomorrow. Safe travels on Wednesday.
Mick...sounds like the rabbits may be starting to sort things out. I hope so, you've put a lot of time into the bonding. The new coil seems t have been the ticket. Nice finds. When will you find out about the coins you put up for sale? Sorry to hear about the delivery driver hope he is ok. It's good that you and Julie are close enough to jump in and help out. I'm sure her Dad will enjoy having you two there today.
Shout out to the rest of the gang, hope you're all doing ok.
It's almost time that I'll be able to take my next dose of meds and then I'm going to bed. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Re: 5 Feb
Mae all,
Mick, what splendid finds!!! I can't even wrap my head around the Bronze Age find... and how on earth did you know what it was? Congrats. And i hope the trip to take care of Julie's dad was okay... so good that you could go at a moment's notice. Good news on the rabbits! Your patience and wise timing is paying off...
Lav, NOOOOOOO! I hope that you will have the chance to take Paxlovid if you get it... seems like that can actually shorten the duration and severity. I'm just so sorry that you have to deal with this, after all this time... we think that it is gone, but it definitely is not... a good reminder. I hope that you escape getting it... sometimes folks can get lucky, but YB will probably "share"... Wishing you luck and healing...
Slo, I love the idea of a shoppers-helper. I could definitely use one of those for myself... instead, I just don't buy anything! My poor wardrobe, sheesh. Glad all your potions and creams are working well.
PPQ, sorry to hear about your long day... I hope you can work less tomorrow and recuperate... Slow and steady wins the race!! take care...
No worries about my elder... she is doing better (I think having a good supper each evening is helping her sleep better and feel better generally). When I arrived today she had been up in the afternoon, took her meds, had a bite of lunch, then went back to sleep, but in the scheme of things that was a big day for her. We had a good time in the evening. Even with the repeated stories, I get a kick out of her. She was best friends with my Mom... I so wish that I had been in a position to do this for my mom, but I lived out of town for those years, (visiting regularly.) I think my mom's spirit is happy that I am helping her friend.
Hello to Pauly and Sam, Det and all others dropping by...
May we be well...

MAE ALL...
Back to my routine of leaving work at noon. I take my meds in the morning which gets me through 6 hours pain free. Then when I get home I can relax and I'm ready for the next round. I am slowly decreasing the tramadol, just take one and 2 tylenols, seems to be doing the trick.
TG...I had a good day today and with my new med regime I've managed to remain pain free. Sounds like your elder is doing much better and you sound a little less exhausted. Good for you. I think your mom's spirit is happy too.
Mick...I love the pics. Looks like your bonding plan is starting to pay off. I have my fingers crossed for you. I am having one hell of a time with the no smoking. I am writing down my thoughts, doing my breathing and trying not to get short/grumpy with people. Everyone at work is on board to support me and I'm hoping things will get easier sooner.
Lav...any news on your diagnosis? I'm posting earlier than usual so will check back later to see how things are with you.
Slo...hope you're having a good time with Huxley, drive safe tomorrow.
Shout out to the rest of the gang. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Re: 5 Feb
Good evening friends,
I’m OK, no symptoms as of yet. YB woke up with no fever this morning but his temp did go up a little this afternoon which is typical of viral disease. He’s got cold symptoms now so I’ve loaded him up with Tylenol & Robotussin, he’ll be fine. Just trying to figure out what to do about picking up ,y grandson from school tomorrow if I get sick. I guess he’ll have to walk as both of his parents work out of town.
We had sun & 43 degrees today, not bad.
PQ, glad your routine is helping you. Let the boss handle some of the in office stuff for a while. We heal when we heal, no sense trying to rush things along.
Mick, your news about the bunnies is good. Glad things are working out with them,
What are you going to do with the spearhead? It’s such a great find. So the electrical stimulation helps with muscle aches?
Cyn, glad your elder seems a bit more settled. Is she getting any exercise? Walking maybe, even if it’s in a mall or somewhere. That would help her sleep too.
YB did not get the last updated booster shot, he simply refused. I got mine when I got my flu shot because I’m not stubborn or stupid about these things. So far, so good
Slo, I hope your day was good & your trip to see Andy is wonderful. Take care.
Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

Re: 5 Feb
Mae all,
I got another call from my elder friend early this morning... this time I got the message, and got over there... she awoke as I entered, and was calmer... I think it might be some kind of "fear" thing... she awakens and feels chilly and weak... but came around quickly once I was there and making coffee and toast for her. She read her text and said "Did I write that?" So, who knows! Her granddaughter was with her much of today...
Lav, SO glad to hear that you got the booster... you are right, that might just protect you, if it works on the BXX or whatever the latest version is. Good gracious, I hope YB learns a lesson on getting the d*mn booster shots!! Good luck to you...
PPQ, so sorry the cig quit is so hard... but I like the sound of how you are handling things... feeling the feelings and writing them down can really help... good for you for doing that! And glad to hear you stuck with your hours (also the pain med plan sounds good...) Keep on!
SLO, sorry, I think I missed your latest post... I hope all is well with you.
Mick, excellent pics of the rabbits! Even face to face in that one... your patience and perseverance is really paying off. And wow what a pic of the spearhead... good for you for knowing what it was!
I will be off in the morning to do help with the homeless lunches, then take a break, finishing up in the late afternoon/evening with my elder... figuring out what dinner to make. (I'm eating much better as a result of cooking these dinners for her... somehow cooking for oneself seems ridiculous, but I am trying to make really nutritious food for her, and thus for me...)
May all be well -
