    Re: 12th Feb

Well look at those two rabbits, sitting together like they belong together!!
Hope your weather is good for visiting Amy tomorrow, Mick.
“Good for you, making stew”…I see the beginnings of a poem!

I went to young daughter’s end-of-season college swim meet twice yesterday; once for the preliminary swim, and later for the Finals in the evening. I will go out the door soon to go watch her swim the mile tonight.

TG, yes, I’m still trying to go through the “firsts” this year after being divorced and moving out. But yesterday I sat by ex-HB for both swim sessions, and it was fine. Whereas at the last swim meet we attended together it ended up being emotionally wrenching for me, and I unexpectedly had a lot of emotions to process after that. So —progress!

PQ, no wonder you’re so valuable at work; coming up with a work-around and getting the summer programs launched after all. And your body was fine with an extra 4 hours yesterday, although your mind wanted a drink. Not surprising, as since you cut out the smoking addiction then your mind is defaulting to a different addiction.
I hope you have an enjoyable & restful weekend off, in the milder weather.

Lav, I don’t hear much about tonsillectomies anymore either. But Beckett’s mother needed hers out (T&A) -all three of my older girls did. I didn’t, nor did any of my brothers & sisters. He’s only three years old! Well, I won’t be involved in it at all, since the other grandma will be there.

I keep waking up too early, so I guess that explains collapsing into a long nap this afternoon. Oh well. And hopefully today I blew the rest of the snoot out of my snot.

    Off I go now!

      Good evening friends,

Cloudy with seasonable temps here today but no snow. None this winter, so odd!
Had a long strange wakeful period during the night & felt like I was freezing to death. This weirdness happens once every couple of months, has nothing to do with Covid or anything. I swear it feel like the angel of death knocking on the door or something. Hopefully I can actually get some sleep tonight. I met with my customer this afternoon to deliver her pillows. She told me all about this story, she’s on eof the complainants. I feel so sorry for her, this is terrible: Gore has known of the dangers of PFAS since the 199s, lawsuit says - WHYY
She works for this company & lives very nearby & her well water has been contaminated with these cancer causing chemicals. Two of her neighbors have kidney cancer

Cyn, glad you’re recovered. This variant doesn’t seem to be keeping people sick for too long, thank goodness! Keep resting up when you can, we have to do everything to re-enforce our immune systems.

PQ, you are doing so well, I am happy for you! Strange drinking/smoking thoughts pop up when least expected but we don’t have to acton them. I really think it’s just old habitual thinking more than anything.
Yep, it turns out we need Vitamin C for a lot of body functions that we aren’t even aware of, haha! That’s why avoiding the iron supplements if you can is the best idea. Keep up the good work & Have a good weekend.

Mick, your bunnies have graduated into proper adult relationships. Good for you, being persistent is a huge help.
Enjoy your trip to see Amy & I hope the weather holds for you.

Slo, yeah, everyone around here still has their tonsils but me, haha. Once I had the T&A the strep infections & nosebleeds stopped, ugh.
I hope Beckett has an easy time with his. I wish I could nap but I just can’t because I know I’ll be up ALL night, Lol. Enjoy!!

      Wishing everyone a nice night!
      Lav

Success comes one day at a time

        Mae all -

SLO - what a lovely post - goodness, but you are a great mom as a supporter! What a story about sitting next to your ex and having it be okay... good for you. Stay safe on all that driving!

PPQ - wow, what a jump up for you, good energy and problem solving too! Way to go to brush off those annoying thoughts, perfect. Hope your weekend is good.

Lav - wow those chills sounds scary! I sleep with a small electric warming pad in my bed - i seem to unconsciously be able to pull it to myself and turn it on and off to keep comfortable... that thing really got me through my illness. I hope those chills stay away - they sound scary...

Mick, congrats! I love the thought of Bonnie grooming Argyl, as if to say - "well, I guess you're going to be hanging around, so let's get you cleaned up... and by the way, I'm the boss." I hope your trip to Amy's was a good one.

Stronger today - sat at my desk and worked for awhile. Sadly, I have a whole new dose of "Covid brain" to work through, but I'm trying to be patient and just chill out when it happens. Lav, what a terrible thing for your neighbor to endure! They should get an impassioned lawyer and a lawsuit together... I'm afraid nothing will happen unless they are challenged. I am so glad you are no where near the destruction in Ohio... I read some articles today about it - one young couple had just bought a beautiful piece of land, with a stream running through it - their "forever home". Now they say there are no birds, no squirrels, no fish in the stream, and they can only stay a little while before getting burning in their lungs. Unbelievable that anything carrying such toxic material was allowed to go through populated areas... besides which - why so much going anywhere at any one time??? Oh dear.

I finally have taught myself how to watch things on my computer, so I'm devouring PBS shows... so, off to check out how all my "people" are doing...

        May we be well,
        TG

          MAE ALL…

Mick…I bet you’re chuffed with the rabbits. As regards to the drink thought, I think Lav got it right, residual thinking. Hope the weather clears for you tomorrow, I’ll be waiting for ours to hit. It may get bitterly cold but it’ll be short lived. Might have to work from on Wednesday when the high is supposed to be -23C/-9F.

Slo…hope you enjoyed watching your daughter’s mile swim. It does sound like you’re making progress. I was pretty proud of myself for coming up with that work around. LOL I haven’t been very active today and I can feel it. Will be an early night for me. I was actually able to sleep on my right side last night, my normal sleeping position.

Lav…sounds like we’re going to get all of our Dec/Jan snow next week. I will be very careful walking in that. Strange that you get that freezing period at times. Almost sounds like the opposite of night sweats. Hope you’re able to get some rest tonight. I agree about the habitual thinking, that is always when I’d want a drink. It’s just that I haven’t thought of one for so long now. At least I’m not worring about acting on it.

TG…I am having a quiet weekend and not thinking about work. It feels like I’m slowly getting my energy back but I’m still not going to push it. Told the boss I might be able to work full time in the office sometime in June. LOL Glad you’re feeling stronger today. Does the “Covid Brain” last long? I love the PBS shows.

Hope we all have a restful evening….:smile:PPQP
