    Re: 19th February

MAE ALL...worked from 8am to 4pm on Friday and yesterday and that seemed to work out well. So that will be my schedule moving forward with the boss's caveat that if I feel like leaving at anytime just go.

Mick...congrats on selling the gold coin at estimated cost. Interesting where all the buyers were from. Hope you didn't fall asleep at yoga with all the work you did and the early morning rise. No snow last night and today so that's a plus. However we are under an extreme cold warning until at least Friday. Roads were much better as most of them were plowed. The car started fine, one of the better buys I've made. LOL

Lav...wow 73 degrees. Hope you don't get walloped in March, that's our trick. It was a good day at work, very busy which made the day fly by. Energy held up but the yawning started right after dinner. It'll be an early night for me.

Slo...it's a wonder where people get the names from these days. My nephew named their babies Sawyer and Dawson. Didn't know if the were boys or girls so didn't mention it till I was sure. They're both girls. Go figure. Glad Mother and baby are doing good and heading home. Jaundice seems to be quite common in new borns.

    TG...hope you're continuing to improve.

    Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

mae all....how are we doing today?hope all is good .Went to yoga last night ,it was a sesssion called "restorative yoga".....it didnt feel too restorative to me !aching this morning but enjoyable. The auction yesterday was absolutely crazy. If anything it was a lot more interesting than the previous day. Some of the prices were unbelievable..again a world wide audience .I did better than forecast....doubled the estimate .one coinI had on was estimated at £350....it sold for £860!!! my friend had a hawking ring on there.estimated at 400...sold for 1300!!there was a medieval iconographic gold ring found by a detectorist..estimated between 10-15k it finally sold for 30k!!!!Ive done what I wanted to do.I intend to buy a new laptop, this one is shot ,and also 2 folding electric bikes to take with us on the van.I am just watching the deer playing in the fields. The light mornings are lovely.

hiya teegee how are you doing? hope all is good with you.sounds like you are on the road to recovery and doing well.good for you .long may it reign

hiya ppqp...hows you then today? you sound pretty positive to me...well done .8 till 4 is a full day ...thats good you have the caveat to go whenever you want or need to .Funny you should say hope I didnt fall asleep...I actually did at the end!!!I could feel myself nodding off.hope you have a good day.

hiya Slo,how are you doing?yep sold everything I intended to .yes you are right ,my mum had one of those bikes ..and so did my auntie who was a nurse.both rabbits as we speak are outside playing just now. What do you like reading?

hiya Lav ,how are you doing today then?all good I hope. Its crazy here today as well...the sun is out ,and it was frosty last night!!!have you done a test?you are right old(er!!!) causes pain ,I use freeze spray ..that works for me .Went to Lidl yesterday ...bought some primroses...10 for £3.49....you would struggle to grow them at that .Work has started on the garden.

          Re: 19th February

          Good evening friends,

It only hit 71 degrees today, haha but it was warm enough to put the AC on in the car this afternoon. The temp is dropping into the 30’s tonight & the 20’s overnight on the weekend. I knew this would be a short lived event. I hear we’re breaking weather records for the warmest January & February. I have a feeling March is going to be a complete Bi*ch, Lol

Slo, you’ve gotten all the winter weather, good decision to stay inside.
I just saw an ad on FB for compression gloves for arthritis of the hands. They look pretty interesting. I think I need a compression body suit to take care of ALL the aches & pains.
We gave our kids traditional names, Elizabeth & Matthew. I figured they could choose funky nicknames when they grew up if they wanted but they didn’t. I do get confused with some of the modern names, not knowing if they’re male or female. Everything is different these days, that’s OK too. Glad to hear mother & baby are doing well & heading home. You take care, stay warm!

PQ. Sounds like you have recovered very nicely, glad to hear that. Just watch & don’t let anyone overload you with work & undoing your progress.
Keep yourself warm & safe too. I agree that March is going to wallop us one way or the other!

Mick, Congrats on the coin auctions, very nice! Enjoy your new laptop & bikes, sounds great!
I did finally get around to doing a covid test this morning, it’s negative. Took 2 weeks to get there, ugh. YB is back to driving Amish but only sporadically. They don’t have any crops to move this time of year but the guy who builds furniture needs to make deliveries to shops & the rest of them just want rides to hardware stores, etc. I hope your primroses do OK this early.

          Have a nice night all!

            MAE ALL...

TG...glad all is good. Keep it up.

Mick...wow! You must be right chuffed about those prices. We'll of course need some pics when you get those bikes. And a new laptop. YAY I can't believe you're starting on your garden.

            Waves to Lav & Slo.

No snow again today but man it's cold out there. We'll be at -40C/F tonight. The weather is supposed to improve on Saturday with temps above freezing. The parking lot at work will be a swimming pool. A little stiff today, didn't have a great sleep last night, but my energy held up.

            Wishing everyone a restful evening....:smile:PPQP

hiya slo how are you today? hows the babysitting going?..

hiya Lav ..how are you doing?hope you are wrong about March!A compression suit? get a scuba wet suit ...ok it might not look so smart jotting around Wal mart but in this nutty world I dont think anyone would notice.Im with you in the names department..gender neutral names ...wtf? more rubbish in the woke world .,,,as blood pressure rises!!!! have a great weekend .

                Re: 19th February

Good morning, as we head into the weekend…

TQ, are you still planning to go on that long trip out east on behalf of your clients?

PQ, 8-4 is a solid day, when you can handle it. And then shorten it on Fridays like Mick says, haha..
I can’t believe how cold you get there! We’re in the single digits F here today, just for one day.
Your nephew must have had twins then?! I would have guessed “boys” first for the names Dawson & Sawyer.

Mick, the auction was crazy the second day! The prices fetched were doubled. How great that you made enough money to get a new laptop and collapsible e-bikes! Those will be fun to ride for exploring new locales on your trips. No wonder the rabbits have to come together or not into one hutch now; since next week they go to the bunny hotel!

I’m not babysitting: the other grandma is there now, and the other grandpa is coming today too for the weekend. I’m giving them their space.
Tomorrow I’m going to go visit my young aunt & uncle for the weekend, in another state.

That’s a good idea about the compression gloves for arthritis, Lav; if it comes to that. My one index finger is already crooked from it.
I like the new baby’s name now. I’m a “name-ie”, the way other people are “foodies”. It’s hard for me when they just drop a name on us suddenly at the birth, without any time to get used to it. Mother and baby are home now. There were cute pictures and videos of the toddlers meeting their new brother!

                  Good evening friends,

Getting colder here just like it’s supposed to in February. Think we may see some snowflakes in the morning but not much.

Mick, we rode up to Quarryville in Lancaster County today. Had lunch at Lapp’s & stopped in Goods country store for hard to find things that they always have. Too cold to do any gardening yet but we did pick up several seed packets. YB can get them started in the greenhouse. I hope your driving weather is clear & you enjoy your trip

Slo, I’ve been wearing the alpaca compression socks, love them. Less ache & swelling in the lower legs & that also helps my feet. I’m really thinking about trying a pair of the bamboo gloves to see if they help. Can wear them overnight or at least when staying inside. I have a crooked index finger too, have had it for years but it didn’t really start hurting until recently. Glad to hear you’ve adjusted to the new baby’s name, understandable about he surprise element

PQ, I really hope you get a warmup this weekend. Glad the snow went somewhere else. Plan on getting lots of rest this weekend, that’s what weekends are for.

Cyn, how are you doing & how’s your weather holding up? Hope you’re feeling more like yourself now, post covid.

Have a nice night one & all!

MAE ALL...:yay: It's the weekend :yay: For a short week it seemed very long!

Mick...did you get the work done and the rabbits moved in together? I'm glad the weather was better yesterday and hope it continues to improve. A trip to London eh? I always remember my visit to Harrods. This is the same weather we got just before Christmas. Hope that arctic air goes home and stays there. Yup, left early today without a guilt thought to be had. LOL

Slo...yup, did shorten it a bit today. No my nephew didn't have twins (that would be my niece) they are 18 months apart, second pregnancy unexpected. My first guess was "boys" too, glad I kept my mouth shut till I was sure. LOL You deserve a break from babysitting. Hope you enjoy your visit with your aunt & uncle.

Lav...cross posted with you yesterday. The weather this year has just been crazy, have you seen what's happening in California? Don't you have family out there? It'll be another cold one overnight but will start to warm up tomorrow. Not that I'm planning on doing anything but I might venture out for a walk or two depending on temp. I plan on picking up that B Complex and Vitamin C sometime this weekend, I'm still getting people saying I'm looking very pale.

TG...sending the light to you, did you get it? LOL

                    Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                      Re: 19th February

                      mae all,

Sorry to be away... I worked on Wednesday making lunches for the homeless, then took home a special baking project to finish up for them... she asked me to stay, but I was too spent. But it turned out to be a bigger project than I thought, and it absolutely wore me out (plus making dinner for my elder and dropping it by). It was a terrible ice storm here that night, and I am lucky that I got home without incident... Anyway, that seemed to completely sap my strength... yesterday I slept and slept to catch up. Still tired with a headache today, so hoping that will pass soon. Going to stay in and stay quiet tomorrow - weather is cold - 0 to single digits!

Mick, congrats on your super sales with the coins! And how exciting to be able to use that money for such great purposes... good job! I am hoping that the Hutch experiment went well with the rabbits... you'll soon have them in shape (sooner or later...). And primroses, my favorites... it must be wonderful to have a greenhouse to get those things going... a taste of spring.

Lav, sorry to hear about the aches and pains... treading those hard hospital floors for years must have taken a toll; thanks for being a great nurse. Good luck with all. Here's the strange thing. from day 10 on with my COVID I was testing negative! I've continued to test to make sure I'm not falling into the Rebound from taking the Paxlovid - 2 more days to go to be clear of that. But so far so good as far as the tests go... I am still so exhausted and dealing with bad headaches, but I'm hoping that will ease soon. I'm still staying away from people... you never know...

PPQ, congrats on the work re-entry, you are really doing such a great job. And a splendid job in the Nosmo arena, congrats!! We are sharing your low temps here... but I'm looking forward to a little break in March, crossing fingers.

SLO, yes, I was supposed to go east, but it all fell through. I missed my SIL's 70th birthday party, but in all honestly I was not looking forward to having the job of getting a client's house ready to sell, so it all worked out. We'll see what the next trip is; could be East or West, depending on how the chips fall. I'm going to use the next week to finish up taxes so that's out of the way, in case something comes up where I need to travel.

Wishing all well - try to stay safe - I am now reading about all the conditions diseases that one is more prone to after having had COVID... crossing fingers I'll escape all of that, I'm still taking all my immune -boosting stuff.

Big hellos to all dropping by...

Hello and how are we today then? Hope everyone is doing well LV it is dry over here today day common but very very cold. Glad to say say that both rabbits did well overnight in the hutch. They stayed together, and despite my best efforts of putting a lead in for them to sit on on and working out a toilet area for them they decided they didn't want allege and they certainly didn't want the toilet where it was. I was up till 1 a.m. this morning with them then went to bed and up again at 6 just to make sure they were ok. Apologies for any grammatical or punctuation errors on this post, but I am doing it on my phone. I am out metal detecting tomorrow a journey of 290 miles. We officially adopted Argyle this morning.

Hiya teegee how are you doing today? It sounds like you have had a busy week. I take it you're having a rest this weekend? Yes I hope you don't get any of the long term effects from covid they seem to be many and varied
. Take care have a great weekend

Hiya lav how's things with you today then? Snaps I picked up old of seeds yesterday as well exclamation mark both rabbits have moved in and are doing pretty good together apart from being awkward! I can join you in the The Crooked finger Brigade as well many years ago when I was in the engineering, I was turning a crankshaft on a lathe, for some stupid reason I forgot that it wasn't central and the crank was offset when I put my hand on it to check the finish it pulled my hand under with the throw of the crank I managed to pull it out but but it's ripped the nail and smashed the top of my little finger. So between us we would have to buy the most odd pair of gloves you would ever see! Hope you get the rest in this weekend.

Hiya ppqp..yes it is the weekend. Argyle is paid for and is now part of our gang. The next thing I must do is Bury Jeeves ashes in the garden I I said I would once I had got these two settled together. I take it you're having an easy weekend? Yes we are off to London next week Harrods isn't top of my list trust me I'm more of a Primark Lidl and Home Bargains man!

Hiya slo how are you doing today?hope everything is going good for you. You have done quite a bit. Yes I was well pleased with the auction prices. At least we will see the benefits of my digging! Take care and have a great weekend

Right folks time to go *♂️ have a good one'

                          Re: 19th February

                          Greetings friends,

Mostly cloudy & cold today, counted a few snow flakes & it stopped quickly. I guess we will keep our no snow record going for now.
Cleaning out the chicken house bit by bit including the empty side that we use for ‘guests’ haha. We will be chicken sitting the first week of March for our neighbor. She lets her girls free range & has been losing them to the various predators in the neighborhood. I think she only has 3 hens left so that will be easy to watch them. I don’t let anyone free range around here anymore, learned my lesson several years ago.

PQ, yep my brother is in California but he’s north of San Francisco. Not sure if the snow is impacting them but I’m sure I’ll hear at some point.
Hope you get your vitamins soon & get them going, they help. And by the way, most of us are pale & pasty looking this time of year so don’t let anyone get away with that, LOL
You’re not feeling any shortness of breath? Then you’re good!

Cyn, I have read repeatedly that each time we get covid it takes a little longer to get it out of your system. No one really knows much about this yet but the research is going on. Just take care of the basics, rest, healthy food & do what exercise you can for now. I still can’t taste much of anything but I’ve been through this before after my head injury & surgery in 2000. I couldn’t taste or smell anything at all for over a solid year. It was like living in a void of some kind, ugh. The neurosurgeon told me to take zinc which I did but it was no help. Time fixed it & I guess time will fix it again. Like I just said to PQ, do what you can but get your rest too. We, unfortunately are not spring chickens anymore & these physical insults are hard to deal with, right? Make sure you’re getting plenty of fluids, the headache could be due to a little dehydration take care & I hope you feel better very soon

Mick, I was very happy to see the bunnies getting along so nicely. You’ve done a great job with them. Now you can relax a bit & enjoy your trip to London.
Good luck detecting this weekend. Could there be anything left to find at this point? Haha! I did end up ordering two pairs of those gloves. I really hope they give my chronically achy hands some relief & keep them from cramping up when I get busy doing things. Getting old is so annoying.

Slo, I hope you’re taking a little R&R this weekend.
I made a pot of mushroom soup today & a bowl of chicken salad so it’s a soup & sandwich kind of day. All that chopping, slicing & dicing makes my hands hurt btw. Maybe the gloves will help, we’ll see.

Hello to anyone else popping by &wishing everyone a nice night!

                            Mae all -

Lav, so glad that you have gotten the gloves... hand pain is no fun, and you are always doing something interesting with your hands! How nice of you to be taking care of the neighbor's hens... she is lucky to have you there. I have been lucky that I have not lost my sense of taste or smell with either of my bouts of Covid... but I did lose them when I had influenza years ago... that was wild... I took a sip of coffee, and it tasted like hot water... crazy! That's how I discovered it. I wish you speedy healing!!

SLO, hoping all is well - are you still off of babysitting duty? Enjoy the freedom, if so...

Mick, congrats to you for the rabbits in the hutch, and the bonding, and adding Argyll as a new family member! That is so much to happen in such a relatively short amount of time... you have worked very intensely... enjoy planning for your London excursion - anything on the list? I hope your detecting outing is good- was it today? Tomorrow? Whenever, I hope it is good...

PPQ - I agree with Lav, we all look pretty "pasty" this time of year... but you have been through so much - I'm sure fatigue has something to do with it... I remember that adage the x amount of days in the hospital needs x amount of days recovery... but you are getting so much stronger, fast! Good job! Take care and hope you can rest this weekend.

I am still feeling pretty tired... it was sunny out, so I challenged myself to get some sun in my eyes by walking outside. That 15 minute walk was enough. I'll be going to bed early. (Lav, I think part of the headache was lymph glands in my neck - now I massage the back of my neck before bed and before getting up, and things are better.) Dang virus. But slow and steady wins the race, so I am taking 1 day at a time. If I get through tomorrow without a Positive test, I perhaps will have evaded the "rebound"... that will be a gift.

Sending greetings and thanks to all -
