Re: 19th February
Hey friends,
Just back from an awesome concert, had a great time
I was surprised to see 3 of the original band members are still performing. They formed their band in 1968! Anyway, glad we went, it was great.
PQ, sorry to hear your snow forecast. I know you’ll be careful, you have loads of experience in the snow.
Mick, glad you had a good day out with Amy, sounds nice.
The rabbits are doing nicely, I’m happy for you.
Cyn, I’m finding my thinking improving daily so maybe the Covid brain isn’t as severe as it once was. Let’s hope so anyway.
Those night chills are the exact opposite of the usual hot flashes/night sweats I’m accustomed to & O have no explanation for them, so weird. Last night I was fine so hopefully will be fine tonight as well.
Slo, I hope you had an easy day.
Hoping everyone has a nice night!

Re: 19th February
It’s a good thing I fell asleep for that 3-hour nap Saturday afternoon, because the call came at 2:20 am in the morning on Sunday that baby was coming, and to get up to D1’s house pronto! I had enough energy to get through the day then with the toddlers. The other grandma came too, since she was already planning to come for the week for Beckett’s tonsillectomy on Monday; which has now been cancelled. So we had a nice day together caring for the kids! I fell asleep by 8:00 pm though, and missed the news of the birth. Baby baby was born at about 10:00pm. He’s a month early, and weighs 5 pounds 14 ounces.
More later, as I hear Mabel is awake.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: 19th February
Greetings friends,
Not much going on today, President’s Day so schools, etc closed.
I just saw that we may actually be at 70 degrees on Thursday, almost summer
Slo, Congrats on the new grandbaby! He’s a pretty good weight for a premie so he should do just fine. I imagine your daughter was a bit surprised, hope she is well.
Glad you were able to team up with the other grandma & take care of business!!
Mick, bunnies are still keeping you on your toes I see. I have a feeling they will settle down very soon.
There was definitely no Woodstock tunes last night. Tower of Power is all about funk/soul sounds. Tower of Power - YouTube
We really enjoyed the show. That’s great news about your coins, hope you get lots of $$
Hello to PQ & Cyn, hope you are both in fine shape today.
Have a nice night all!

Re: 19th February
MAE ALL…
Woke up to a Winter Wonderland as promised. It was still mild out today so got out for a walk during a break in the snowfall. More coming tonight with temps plummeting. Will be heading to work in morning with another 10 inches of snow and temps at -17C/1F.
Mick…sounds like you had quite the feast with Amy yesterday. The rabbits are coming a long way. Got to remember that even in the best of families there’s always a tiff along the way. Glad they made up. Good luck with your coins, I hope you reach your reserve prices. Nosmo king project still on track but it was tough over the weekend.
Lav…glad to hear the concert was a success. Not much going on here today either, we were off for “Family Day”. 70F, what’s up with that!
Slo…so do you think having that nap on Saturday was an omen for an early delivery? Glad you had help getting through the day with the toddles. That’s a nice weight for a preemie. Hope everyone is doing good. I’m lucky if I can wait till 8pm to crawl into bed and read. LOL
TG…thinking of you and hope the brain fog is getting better.
Have a good night all…:smile:PPQP

Mae all -
A little bit better today in the head... some back pain and tired of course, but I think all is headed in the right direction...
Lav, so glad you guys went to the concert and enjoyed it so much! Nothing like those funky sounds to get your toes tapping! I hope you are feeling better, and no more chills! Did you say you are starting up embroidery again? And grandson is doing okay - didn't get the bug?
SLO - well, what excitement for you! I'm so glad that it worked out that both you grandmas were there.... sounds like an awful lot going on!
PPQ - great job on the nosmoke - you made it through the weekend, congrats! I hope that snow doesn't turn out to be as bad as expected... we got a surprise 8 inches the other day -- of course, I loved it because all I did was look at it through the window!
Mick - what a delicious sounding menu - yum! So glad that you were able to spend time with Amy and have a night out. Well, it sounds like the rabbits are figuring it all out - and will be ready for the beautiful, spanking clean hutch... you are a great caretaker...
Hello to those dropping by - wishing all well -
I'm off to PBS-land before an early sleep...

Re: 19th February
MAE ALL...OMG, all the crazies came out to drive in the 4 feet of snow we got! The roads are a disaster, even the 2 blocks I had to go were tricky.
TG...good to hear things are going in the right direction. I think a lot of people worked from home today. The snow wouldn't have been so bad if it hadn't gotten so nice on Monday. Lots of melting which then froze and got covered up by snow. Hope you got a good sleep last night.
Neighbour shoveled off my car this morning, that was greatly appreciated. The 2 major programs that were to run today were cancelled. Made for an eerily quiet day. Couple of programs scheduled for tonight, sure glad I don't work the late shift! Going down to -27C/-16F tonight and the high tomorrow is only -21C/-5F with a strong wind. Hope the car starts in the morning.
Shout out to the gang. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Re: 19th February
Greetings friends,
We had some rain & hail this afternoon, didn’t last long. Then I heard a tornado hit New Jersey & did some damage, geez. That’s spring/summer-like storms, shouldn’t be happening in February.
PQ, wow yo really have the winter weather going on. So cold & so much snow, ugh. Glad you made it to work safely.
Keep yourself safe & warm, stya inside if you can.
Cyn, glad you’re feeling better each day. I’m amazed that my usual allergies seemed to disappear when Covid arrived but now they’re back with a vengeance, Lol
I did do some embroidery work for a local customer over the weekend, she keeps me busy. She’s the one dealing with the contaminated well water from the Gore company near her home. Stay well
Mick, so what’s the verdict on your coins? Are you a rich man now?? Can we borrow some money?? Lol
Slo, hope you had a good day & everything is well with your newest grandbaby & his mama.
Have a nice night all!

Re: 19th February
Hello all,
Geez that’s cold, PQ! Not to mention snowy & icy. Maybe you could work from home tomorrow! Glad you have such a thoughtful neighbor.
TG, I read the James Herriot trilogy of books in the 70s, but didn’t see the original show based on it. I have tried a couple episodes of this one on PBS, but it hasn’t held my interest. I love “Call the Midwife”. Another season is starting too!
Mick, that meal out with Amy sounded divine! I wouldn’t have had room for pudding either.
Two dyslexics walk into a bra! -ha!
So this time it was Argyl who took a swap at Bonnie!
That’s something that there’s still three original members in the 55-year-old band that you saw, Lav.
I had a nice if uneventful day with baby Huxley today.
I hear the new baby grandson has been transferred to a children’s hospital today for treatment of jaundice.
They named him Cooper Ole. I’m getting used to it.
My fingers are breaking out in arthritis. The one middle finger especially has an acutely swollen joint and aches. I hate aging.Last edited by Slo; February 21, 2023, 09:21 PM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: 19th February
Good evening friends,
We had rain overnight then the sun arrived & it warmed up to 44. Tomorrow we will hit an unbelievable 73 degrees which is insane. Then the nightime temps drop into the 20’s for the weekend. We’ll all be sick again, ugh.
Slo, Cooper Ole? Where did that name come from, unusual. I hope he’s OK since he’s been transferred.
Sorry to hear about the arthritic fingers, I know the pain. All this cold & damp weather isn’t much help either. I’ve been dealing with an uptick in L hip pain, waking me up at night too even when taking ibuprofen at bedtime. Getting old is painful, no doubt. We have to keep moving though or risk things getting worse.
Mick, I love hearing about all the things you accomplish in one day, good for you. I will keep my fingers crossed for an easy bunny move in together day.
Congrats on your coin sales, great $$. I hope your weekend is good for detecting.
Cyn, how are you doing? YB finally is testing negative for Covid, I should do another test myself.
Are you getting a lot of snow from the big storm moving west to east?
PQ, I hope your home safe from your snowstorm. I almost feel guilty for not having any this winter. We’ll probably get a huge March storm haha!
Hope everyone has a nice night!

Re: 19th February
There’s been a snow & ice storm going on all day. It’s a day for staying indoors.
Congrats on selling the gold coin, Mick! So many bidders from all over too. And you might sell more.tomorrow!
The bicycles on ‘Call the Midwife’ is just a plain old bike to you!
Wow, you get a lot done in one day. I get a little bit done, but then my knee starts hurting.
I hope those bunnies accept one another and their shared quarters tomorrow.
Who knows where the young parents get their baby names from these days, Lav. She picked the weird middle name, so he got his choice for the first name. And to think it could’ve been Caleb Matthew! But that would be too normal for nowadays. Mother & baby are supposed to go home today.
I wonder what’s up with your hip? Arthur-itis I guess. Ouch.
PQ, I guess the weekend was harder for being NoSmo, without the busyness of work to distract you. Good for you for persevering!
I’m with you -often like to be in bed by 8:00pm with my book.
Are you on the mend, TQ?Last edited by Slo; February 22, 2023, 09:36 PM.Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.
