    Mae all,

Also a quick one here from me... I am making dinner for my elder friend, and will take it over in a bit. I was out picking up things for dinner (this morning) and she texted me that she was having trouble getting awake and up out of bed. So I went by there and made breakfast and coffee, etc. Once she was up and walking around she did better, and of course breakfast helped. On the weekends her granddaughter doesn't come by, so I think she was also a little lonely. It's tricky finding my way in terms of trying to know how much I should be around. It will get figured out... will bake Salmon Cakes and take other stuff over to her this evening. I have been just dropping things off and staying only a bit, but if I test negative this evening I'll stay... this is the last day that I would show signs of "rebound", so hoping I am finally in the clear...

Lav, hoping all is well at your place and you didn't fall into any holes while getting the chicken house ready for guests.

PPQ, hoping that you are having a restful Sunday - And you too SLO!

Mick, congrats on the great work with the rabbits... what a great sight for you to see - both of them cuddling. You changed Argyll's life, most definitely - Great Job!

Okay, off to put a dinner together...
    May we be well -
    TG

      MAE ALL..

I did post yesterday but apparently it didn't stick around. LOL Got out for 2 walks yesterday afternoon, not far but sidewalks were clear of snow/ice. Having a tough time with the nosmoke but still hanging in there. Lots of work on my lung exerciser to ride the crave wave. LOL Hope the weather is good for your trip to London.

Mick...hope your detecting was another success. I bet it was lovely to see them snuggled up together. So happy that everything has worked out.

Lav...got out to get my vitamins today. I was still taking a multi and B complex but now have stocked up on the Vitamin C. No shortness of breath so all's good.

TG...I've never been one to be out in the sun, do take Vitamin D3, and at my age I don't even bother with makeup anymore. LOL Hope you're feeling better today.

Temps above freezing today so a quick trip to the store and one walk. Being lazy and doing a lot of reading.

Hope everyone has a good night...:smile:PPQP

        Good evening all,

Mostly cloudy here today but it warmed up to 52 so not complaining. We went to Costco to stock up on necessities, it was a weekend madhouse of course. The chicken hotel is all clean & ready for our guests later this week. Glad to be able to help the neighbors with something as simple as chicken sitting

Mick, I hope you had a productive detecting day. Once yo get to London & get your van parked somewhere how do you plan to get around to see things? I’ve seen people towing a small car behind their campers just for that reason. Glad the bunnies have settled in together & just in the nick of time too

Cyn, glad you’re getting to the end of the virus. I was thinking today it’s such a waste of time being sick. I am not a good patient haha!
I imagine your elder friend is lonely & basically unmotivated to get up & get started in the mornings. It’s a shame there isn’t some adult day care situation available for her. I actually looked into the requirements of opening one myself many years ago but I found the PA. Health Dept. Requirements were kind of ridiculous. I would have had to have not only adequate staffing but also a nutritionist, a physical & occupational therapist & more on staff to be licensed, ugh. Too much for me to deal with at the time. I hope you can find some way to keep her active & involved in something in her area. Stay well!

PQ, glad yo didn’t disappear in a snow drift yesterday, Lol
Good for you getting out for some sun & fresh air. We’re in for some rain tomorrow so I guess I’m not going to be out much. You should start feeling pretty peppy with your new vitamin schedule. Just don’t take any B vitamins after lunchtime or they could keep you up at night . Good job kicking to smokes, I know it’s rough as hell but your body will thank you in the end!

Take care everyone & have a nice night!

          Re: 26 Feb

          Evening all!

I’m back in town now after visiting my young aunt & uncle-in-law over the weekend. And I got to enjoy with their grandchildren instead of mine! They were babysitting their 1 y/o granddaughter; their 3 y/o and 5 y/o granddaughters came over on Saturday to visit, and the somewhat older two kids were there on Sunday with their parents to pick up their baby sister after their ski trip.
It has been 14 months since my aunt & uncle’s son died tragically in a fire while firefighting, so it was the perfect time to visit: the hoopla & turmoil that ripped their world apart has died down, yet their grief is still raw enough that they wanted and needed to talk about it. So I and my twin sister whom I traveled with were glad to be supportive and provide listening ears.
And bonus: we got to have early dinner (or was it late lunch?) with a couple other uncles today before heading home.
I enjoyed the warmer weather there in the more southern state too.
But my sister turned critical and surly and mean towards me like she does, so I need to stop trying to travel with her. I have been realizing for a good 15 years or more that I can’t travel with her -anymore than I can live with her or work with her - and yet I just keep trying & trying to travel with her for these short kind of trips, hoping things will change. But they don’t: so I need to face reality and put my boundaries up and no longer travel with this person who is hostile towards me. She can use her own wheels if my driving is never good enough for her, and whatever else du jour she decides to get angry & picky at me about. Enough.

Mick, everything is working out! Happily bonded bunnies, and you finally can travel again in the van!

PQ, what you are doing is SO difficult -but you got this far with NoSmo, and you won’t want have to start all over again; so best to just keep going. PM Cowboy if it would help to talk to someone who is also going through the same thing.

Fingers crossed for a negative Covid test tomorrow, TG.
Hope your chickens are welcoming to their sleepover guests, Lav!

Hello everyone and how are we today? Yesterday was not success metal detecting, didn't find much at all but the weather was nice and it was a good day out. Rabbits are doing well, snuggled up together.

Hiya lav how are you doing?once we have settled on site in London, we plan to use the tube, going down the Thames on a boat, and use buses.its 10 minutes from the site to the centre of London. Thought about car towing, but it's illegal in Europe hence the bikes I even thought of electric scooters but they are illegal in UK

Hiya slo..how are you doing?wow, you certainly travel around a bit it's a shame about the family issues .you are right maybe you need to look at it through another set of eyes you are number 1 in your life.

Hiya ppqp .wondered where you were you are doing good with the nosmo. Well done you will feel the difference in the future. I know .are you back in work today?take it easy

Hiya teegee. Wow!you never stop. It's lovely of you helping others. You are a nice person I am chuffed the rabbits are together. Companionship for Bonnie and a good start for Argyl. They are adopting each others mannerisms. Hope the test comes back as negative

            Have a great day folks

              Good evening friends,

The rain held off until dinnertime but at least it’s just rain. Areas north of us will be getting some snow too.
Son & grandsons flew home from FL last evening after a long weekend watching baseball, they had fun. Granddaughter & her parents visited NYC for her birthday, stayed over Saturday night so they got to do & see lots of things including a Harry Potter production on Broadway. Sounds like the family enjoyed their weekends.

Slo, sorry about your sister’s behavior. I never understood why some people just hold all that anger & I can’t appreciate being a target for their angst. Go about your life on your terms, it’s a lot more peaceful that way. Wonderful that you connected with so many family members this weekend, sounds nice.

Mick, that’s great that you’re campsite is so close to the city. No need for a car, the bikes would be great!
Sorry about your detecting fail, can’t win every time I guess. Say Hi to the bunnies

PQ. Hope yuo had a good day & didn’t work too hard.

Cyn, hope your day was good too. I tossed & turned all night, didn’t fall asleep until about 4:30 this morning. Got up a few hours later with a headache, ugh. No temp, BP good so I think maybe the early pollens are getting to me already. Feel better now.

I hope everyone has a nice night!

                MAE ALL...

Had a terrible sleep last night, was up at 4:30am so it's going to be another early night for me.

Lav...wow, that sounds like quite a few hoops to jump through to open an adult day care/activity centre. We have a couple of them close to me, they're free to seniors and those I know that attend really enjoy them. Thanks for the heads up on not taking the Vit B after lunch. I usually take my vitamins after breakfast but sometimes I forget. The B Complex I picked up also has Vitamin C in it but I bought more Vitamin C as well just didn't think it had enough. Sounds like the family had a great weekend. Work wasn't hectic but steady, just the way I like it. Boss didn't come in till after lunch as it turns out he's covering the night shift tonight. Better him than me!

Slo...sounds like you visit with your aunt & uncle was a good one. Too bad about the traveling companion. I found my sister to be quite negative, probably due to the amount of drinking she'd done. I'm all for people having their own opinion but sometimes they should just keep them to themselves.

Mick...well it can't be gold mines all the time. LOL I never did get to take a boat down the Thames when I was in London, sounds lovely. Nice that you're so close to the city. Yup, back to work on my 8-4 schedule and it seemed to work out just fine. Had an email from the church this morning saying the kitchen was a mess on Sunday. The Scouts group that rented it on Saturday apparently did not do a good job of cleaning up. And of course my Saturday night cleaner didn't show up stating he couldn't get his car started. Just forwarded the emails to the boss, he can deal with it.

TG...hoping you're in the clear. It does sound like your elderly friend was lonely and I hope you can sort out just how much time you commit to being with her. You need to make you a priority.

We're cooling off tonight and it'll be colder tomorrow with a small amount of snow, but just for the day. I'm hoping we're winding down from Winter weather but March can be very tricky, supposed to be the snowiest month. Hoping they are wrong.

                Wishing everyone a good night....:smile:PPQP

                  Mae all,

PPQ, so sorry about the poor sleep... that is so hard to deal with! And CONGRATS on your continued dedication to the nosmo routine - great job! Glad to hear that you can just send complaints on to your boss! Perfect.

Lav, the family does sound like they all had good times on their trips, how very nice. Harry Potter on broadway sounds pretty fun...

SLO - so glad that you had a good time with extended family - you are one great "connector"! So sorry about your sister turning nasty... unfortunate after a nice day together... but you're right... she can drive herself!

Mick, your trip sounds absolutely wonderful. Glad that you have a place close to the Tube - London is a marvel when it comes to transportation... so sophisticated, and so much better than our large cities.

Well, I tested negative again yesterday, so I think I'm actually in the clear from any Covid "Rebound", thank heavens! Still very tired... I guess that will just take time to get re-charged. Now I'm reading about the Norovirus and "Schelle...." some other wretched bug. So I'll being wearing gloves anytime I handle food for my elder. Geez, if it's not one thing it's another!

Hoping all are well - Mick, say hi to the rabbits... so cute...

hiya teegee...how are you doing?Well done on the negative result ..the trouble is there are that many variations on a theme flying around ...We are only in London for 4 days..one day will be the tower of London, another the Thames cruise ,another we will do the hop on hop off tour ..where you buy a ticket and you tour London in an open top bus ..you can get on and off when and wherever you want ..last day I want to go to St Pauls ,the Cenotaph and the tankie memorial .and possibly the British Museum .you take care .

hiya ppqp...how are you today...apart from tired.good strategy.. boss +money =responsibility ...over to you .did you get the small amount of snow?.....well done nosmo...take care and get a good kip tonight ..

hiya Lav how are you doing? all good .We have a tomato ,peppers and fruit shortage over here, they didnt do any favours when we left the EU.Its really quiet here without the wabbits ,that sounds crazy but is true.Harry Potter on Broadway..that sounds good .hows the aches n pains today?

hiya Slo...hope today is a more positive one for you ..Have you been baby sitting?

right peeps next post will be from the site ..take care and be safe

                      Hi everyone,

It’s not Hello to the bunnies but Goodbye as they are off to the bunny hotel! Sounds like a great trip you have planned, Mick.
Yes, I’m babysitting Huxley today. He learned how to sit since I last saw him, and is scooting forwards and crawling backwards!

Your kid’s families really did have nice weekend vacations, Lav!

                      Huxley woke up. More later.

                        Good evening friends,

Treated myself to a haircut today since I have no patience with hair, haha! Partly sunny & not real cold, high temp of 45. Spring is just a mere 20 days away

Slo, I remember the kids going from sitting to crawling backwards, something they all do haha. Hope your day with Huxley went well.

Mick, my daughter & I used the river boats in Paris to get around easily, that was fun. I’m sure you will enjoy your London trip.
Glad your bunnies are all set in their hotel. Have fun

PQ, sounds like you’re doing just fine, good for you! I remember the church in my old hometown where we had our Girl scout meetings. We often used the kitchen for events but always left it spotless. The Boy Scout troop, not so much haha!! They had to be told over & over to clean up after themselves. We also taught the girls to leave the campsites looking as good or better than we found them.
We still haven’t had any snow here, could end up getting dumped on in March, ugh, hope not. I see the pussy willow starting to open up, the forsythia is getting ready to bloom too. Keep up the good work & take that extra Vitamin C - I do

Cyn, I haven’t heard - what new bug is coming after us now? Do we really need this?? I think not!
I’m a big proponent of handwashing from my nursing years. Since the start of the pandemic I’m sure to wash up the minute I get home from the stores or wherever. I ran out for a haircut today, stopped in the grocery store for some veggies & came home & scrubbed my hands - still.

If anyone is interested I made this cabbage pie tonight & boy was it good. You can add or subtract anything, make it your own. Lea's Cooking: "Delicious Cabbage Pie"

MAE ALL...this waking up at 4:30am has got to stop. Going to stay up till at least 10pm tonight. Oh yeah, sure. LOL

TG...congrats on day 2 of negativity. I never did get Covid so find it hard to relate sometimes. Yup, it take awhile to rebuild that energy, don't I know it. Haven't heard of "Schelle" yet, but don't blink I'm sure there'll be another different one right around the corner.

Mick...as long as you got the room I agree with better to have and not use. Did that rabbits go in the same cage? Glad they were no problem. This must be Argyle's first hotel visit. It'll be interesting to see how he reacts when he gets home. No small amount of snow, it started about 7am and is still going. Roads were a mess again today.

Slo...I bet Huxley's changed since you saw him last. Scooting forward and crawling backwards, sounds like a true male. Hope you had a good day.

Lav...I really need a haircut but the shop I go to isn't open on Sunday's, when I usually have the time to do it. There's a new place opened in the strip mall down from my house, it's open on Sundays so I think I'll check that out. I'm not as weary in the afternoons but I think it's a little early to attribute that to the vitamins. Maybe just getting stronger every day. With the Baden Powel banquet the scouts put on they are supposed to be learning responsibility. Maybe they felt like they had achieved that. Too bad because they have shot themselves in the foot. Full charge for next year's event. Your recipe reminded me that I haven't had cabbage in ages. Now I'm craving it. LOL

I did pick up some frozen meatballs for supper tonight. I find making them doesn't work out too well. Going to serve them with mushroom gravy, rice and corn. We will see how they turn out.

Shout out to Sam, Det & Pauly...miss you guys. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                              MAE gang,

I miss Pauly and Samstone too! Would be nice to see Det again too.

It’s partially sunny today! And relatively warm! I got a little walk in. Met a condo neighbor too.

I woke up at 4 am also, but finally managed to fall back to sleep until 6 am.

It’s amazing how the Boy Scout troops acted the same in both locations and in both time periods! Yes, they can learn responsibility right there in the kitchen by following the Camper’s Rule: leave everything as good or better than you found it!

                              Your dinner sounds good, PQ.

I guess Huxley isn’t really scooting forward yet. He’s moving around though; besides crawling backwards, he can move in a circle.
Beckett gets his tonsils out on Monday now, and they want me there for a few days at least. I would stay for the week, except for my obligation to Huxley.
Beckett calls the new baby Cooper “Pooper”, and Mabel calls him “KOO-ker”!

Thankfully you’re free to get back to normal with your elderly friend now, TQ. Maybe then she won’t get so lonely and call you on the weekend.

I was tipped off that my new arthritis might likely be from eating a high oxalate diet. If it’s not one thing, it’s another! I’m reading a good book called, ‘Toxic Superfoods’. I recommend it.

                              Wishing all an easy day…
