    Re: 5 March

    Mae all -

Mick, that joke was really good - caught me by surprise and I snorted out loud! (Don't tell). Glad to hear the bunnies are well and that you got the water out of the van before the freezing. I hope your temps warm up!

Lav, thanks for that link... It is just going to take some time I guess. Sorry you are still coughing, yikes!

PPQ, I hope that the weather turns around and gives you a chance to get outside soon - that spring sunlight will help each of us cope - -2F is too cold for March! I hope your week calms down...

SLO - Oh my! that sounds like quite the emergency, and scary-looking too. I have vivid memories of getting my tonsils out (I was about 4). I remember vomiting blood... even as a ting one, I thought that was gross and ridiculous. I also remember the ice cream, or something cold... so I guess that made it all okay. Best of luck, and I hope you got some rest.

Now I feel like I'm fighting off a cold, so I'm taking all my "protective" stuff. I have been walking a lot, trying to get sunlight in my eyes, as there is so much research on how great that is for the whole body. But it has been windy here, so perhaps I have allergies (or I just need to clean my dusty apartment!)

Looking forward to having this full moon get over itself... seems like this one has made a lot of things really wild...
    May we be well,
    TG

        Re: 5 March

        Greetings friends,

        Happy International Women’s Day
In honor of the day I decided to not cook so we ran out for a bite to eat at a local place. I was just happy to get a day out of the kitchen mid-40’s & very windy still. I think there’s some small amount of snow on the way this weekend. I hope it doesn’t wreck all the budding trees & shrubs.

PQ, you sound awfully busy at work. Tell them all to get in line & take a number, haha!! Don’t let them overwork you.
I was just thinking today how it was so much harder to quit smoking. After nearly 14 years I still miss the dumb things, go figure. You’re doing well, keep going & stop bumming smokes Lol
Hope it warms up for you soon, geez.

Cyn, this has been a difficult full moon period, we don’t need this. I woke up over & over last night but managed to get almost enough sleep anyway.
My daughter is also dealing with a lingering cough due to a case of viral bronchitis she picked up working with kids. I think it’s in our DNA - these lingering coughs.
I need to do more walking too but just won’t when it’s so windy & risk getting blown into an empty cornfield again like I did last year haha! Take good care

Mick, sounds like you’re having teh weather that’s predicted for us this weekend, ugh.
I hope your car search turns up something soon for you. Hope the bunnies are happy

Slo, thinking about you & Beckett, hope he’s improving. You take care too.

Hello to all & wishing a nice night for all!

          Re: 5 March

MAE ALL...from a frozen Calgary. I'll be glad when this winter is over.

TG...we're supposed to see some improvement next week, I'll be glad for that. It was a calmer day today, busy but steady not hectic. Hope you're not coming down with a cold. My sister always got allergies at this time of year. I've managed to dodge all these years.

Mick...so you finally got the snow. The ground must not be too cold if it's turning to slush. Glad you got the van de-watered before it hit. I didn't know you were shopping for another car. Are you going for a used one? The cig prices are crazy $21 Canadian for a pack of 25. At least I haven't been shelling out money on those. I've been feeling ok, no pain at all, just seem to be a little tired all the time. My eating habits aren't as good as they were when I was at home so will have to work on that too.

Lav...good for you honoring International Women's Day and not cooking. I hope your weather behaves and leaves the plants alone. When my Dad was in assistant care at age 90 he commented that he still gets the urge to have a smoke now and then. He quit every New Year's but when he turned 50 it stuck. A couple of comments the boss has made in passing shows he's noticed how busy I've been. It's tough when 2 or 3 things happen at the same time, summer camp prep along with spring programing prep. I'm still tracking my time/task for the month and can't believe how much is spent on programs. It's an eye opener how much taking that on has added to my workload.

Slo...hope all is going well with you.

I had a treat tonight with my son cooking the meal, not that he knew what day it was, he can just cook that meal better than I can. LOL Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

hiya all...how are wee today then? hope all is well with everyone ..Went to yoga last night ...and then after it had snowed ,then rained ..it froze ..and overnight we have had a bit more than a dusting ..and now its raining ..just a normal Spring day.both rabbits are having a real tuff time ...sprawled out under the radiator in the conservatory. We are supposed to be having bad weather for the next few days ..We cant get grit lorries up here ...a massive tractor has just come up gritting and salting the road

hiya ppqp .how are you doing? welcome from a snowy rainy icy Lancashire ...at todays rates a pkt of cigs here in Canadian dollars is around 26...and thats for a pack of 20..good for you not shelling out for them...Interesting that you are time tracking ..be worth your while to note it all for your bilat with the boss.

hiya Lav,how are you doing today?yep Ive got your weather here..Went to look at a car ..but nope ..pictures paint a better view than the real thing..Ive got a plan to get one for the future ....the bunnies are real happy ..Argyl runs to you when he sees you ,and now madam is doing that too...(Bonnie not Julie!!!)hope you have a good day.

hiya teegee,Slo how are you both doing?hoe all is well.

right good people take care and have a lovely day

              Re: 5 March

              Hi,

I’m home now, and over babysitting Huxley. He finally fell asleep for his nap.

I agree, TG -so glad that full moon is over! It pulls on me, and increases all aches & pains, tiredness, irritability etc. etc. Always a relief to leave it behind for a couple weeks.
That must’ve been scary for you as a tiny one to be throwing up blood! PQ too. My three daughters who had their tonsils out never bled.

I guess we have a big snowstorm heading our way today. It is quite cold out.

PQ, I guess you’re doing the Program Coordinator's job as well as your own.
Bonus that Son cooked dinner when it wasn’t his night!
Shelling out for the cost of cigarettes is a motivating reason to want to quit anyways.

Aww, cute: the bunnies are sharing the radiator now!
My car is 7 years old. I love it, but it won’t last forever.
Well, at least some-bunny runs for you when you get home, Mick!

Yesterday was a good excuse for sure for getting out of the kitchen, Lav.

                Re: 5 March

                Hi all,

Feeling a little guilty we had a sunny 50 degree day today. Looks like we get rain tomorrow in to Saturday, bummer. Little chance of a drought around here so that’s good.

PQ, you are doing the jobs of two people. That should be reflected in your paycheck!!! Doesn’t hurt to remind the boss haha!!
I walked thru the supermarket today & couldn’t help but notice the organic brown eggs are selling for $7.19/dozen. That’s freaking crazy!! I looked into buying organic feed many years ago for my chickens but it was just too expensive. At least we get plenty of fresh eggs from our girls.
Hope it warms up for you soon, geez!

Mick, enjoy your winter wonderland but I hope it doesn’t stick around too long. It’s fairly hilly around here too so I wait for the plow &salt trucks to do their thing before I head out after a snowstorm.
Glad the bunnies are warm enough & appreciating their home & family

Slo, hope you don’t get too much snow, ugh. With all the traveling you do it would be a worry for me. I just don’t trust other drivers. I learned to drive in December when I turned 16, there was ice & snow on the ground so I’m not afraid to drive. It’s just the others. I hope Beckett is a lot more comfortable today. Hope your Huxley day was nice.

Cyn, are yo getting hit with more snow too? Hope you’re feeling a bit stronger now.

Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night.

                  Re: 5 March

Mae all - did I skip yesterday? Honestly, I hardly know what day it is! I finally just took my work over to my elder’s place this morning when she asked me to come. I knew she would’ve happy to see me, then go back to sleep, which is what happened. Later I brought some coffee and toast, then she fell asleep again. I think she did not eat a bit of dinner last night - her granddaughter was supposed to go and get stuff ready, but I don’t think that happened. So I did my work there, came home for a bit and will go back a little later to make sure she is eating a good warm supper...
Snow here today, but it has all melted. It was pretty this morning - as long as it was light and not sticking around!
Not much else going on - trying to get go-to food, recipes, and grocery lists done for a client in California who is dealing with Parkinson’s. She is not well, and got some recent bad news about 2 friends close to her... getting older is not for sissies!!
Glad to hear how things are going for all - take care - thanks for being a “touchstone” here.
                  May we be well -

                    Re: 5 March

MAE ALL...well, I could just copy and paste the last thread. Not much has changed weather wise or work wise.

Mick...so you get all 4 seasons in one day as well. LOL It warms my heart to hear how close Argyle and Bonnie are now. I really didn't think you were going to make it. How nice that they both run to you now. You be extra careful if you have to go out anywhere. Wow, I'm not sure how much a 20 pack is here but those prices are definitely higher than ours. The time tracking has been an eye opener for sure.

Slo...glad you're home and that Huxley is napping. Things must be improving for him. Yup, doing two jobs which was ok in the beginning when there was little interest in room rentals but those have been increasing daily. Hope the snow isn't too much.

Lav...you made me smile when I read the beginning of your post. There's no room for quilt on this thread don't you know. LOL I did get a hefty raise after taking on the pro coord's job but the role has evolved and it seems like I spend more time on that than my other tasks. So the time tracking will show where there has to be some changes made. I just can't do it all, I'm not one of those women. Our Organic brown eggs are $9.75/dozen and don't get me started on bread! The Federal Government is currently conducting an investigation into the major food companies, they are making $1 million a day in profits at the moment and are trying to defend themselves. Can you imagine. It'll be interesting to see what the outcome will be.

TG...I looked back to re-read Mick's post and saw you had posted. I hear you about knowing what day it is. I had a call from a renter inquiry who said she was sure she submitted the request but wasn't sure she actually hit send. I just laughed as I'm right there with her. Told her she had hit send and that I had replied and she said really and a moment later said oh yes, there it is. She said she gets so many emails (she works for the city) and I could relate to that too. Look at you knowing the score and taking your work with you. You've got this figured out. I think her granddaughter needs to step it up. Don't let her get away with dumping all the responsibility on you.

Well, it's left overs, soup or eggs for whoever wants something to eat. I personally am making myself some eggs. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Good morning all .from the winter wonderland! We have had snow most of the night and it is still snowing now now the motorway around here was jammed solid with people in their cars trapped overnight. They reckon maximum depth recorded was 20 cm. According to the forecast it will snow here up to 12 today and then the rains will start full stop both rabbits doing ok however quite happily munching away and snuggled up.it was also very windy and freezing. This is storm Larisa few pictures for you

That’s a lot of snow, Mick! The trees and rooftops are all coated in white here as well. Sad about all the people trapped in their cars on the motorway!

Your elderly friend sounds like she’s approaching the end of her life, TG; what with all the sleeping she’s doing. Bringing your computer along and doing your work over there is the perfect solution!

Beckett seems to be recovering fine from his surgery now. I came home in order to babysit 8-month-old Huxley for D2. He’s doing well, but is on the verge of being kicked out of daycare (needy baby), so I will be babysitting him two days a week on both Monday and Tuesday for a little while.
Today I am happily babysitting no one!

PQ, the tracker is proving to be a valuable tool after all.
When I was up by Beckett, Mabel, & Cooper (Daughter calls him “Pooper Scooper”!), then the parents signed the kids up for Summer swim lessons promptly at 7:30 am, right when enrollment opened! I thought of you.

It was fun taking care of teeny tiny Cooper while he’s still so small, and putting those teeny diapers the size of a Kleenex on him.
Meanwhile, 4-month-old Andy a couple states over is at the 99.7 percentile for height! Holding him is like holding a strong, slippery eel. He is outgrowing everything, like his swing, and his bassinet is long gone. Only two-piece outfits for him!

How’s your kitty doing, Lav? My cat puked all over my bedding while I was gone, but otherwise ok.

Rain, sleet, or snow, I hope you all have a good day.

                              Good evening all,

While the rest of you are dealing with snow I’m getting rain here, lots of rain. 40 degrees now but heading down to 31 tonight, chilly.

Cyn, so nice of you to care for your friend. I’m really wondering if something’s going on with her causing her to sleep so much. Depression, meds, constipation, UTI? In that age group almost anything just a bit off could cause the sleepiness. Do you know if she’s had any bloodwork done recently? Could be anemic as well. Definitely make sure her granddaughter is aware that she’s skipping meals & sleeping so much. Thank goodness for laptops that allow us to take our work anywhere, right? You take care of yourself too & don’t worry about what day it is. I often check my phone for a hint on that haha!

PQ, does your community garden allow any chicken keeping? It would certainly help offset the outrageous cost of eggs, geez!
Maybe you should ask for an assistant at work? Sounds like a good plan to me . Have you ever baked bread? I have some simple recipes if you want them. You could do a few loaves on the weekends to hold you over for the week. It’s getting too expensive to stay alive these days. I ran across a banana spongecake recipe today, baked it up in a long pullman loaf pan, simple

Mick, lovely snow, sorry about the bad roads though.
Glad the bunnies have a warm & dry spot to go to when needed. Did you make a snowman yet???

Slo, glad to hear Beckett is doing OK, such a worry.
The newborn sized diapers are so cute, I remember. So Andy could end up playing pro basketball some day with his height, cool! You’re going to be extra busy watching babies.
The kitten is doing fine, he’s just a major pain in. The a$$ getting into everything. YB has an OLD cat who does nothing but eat, puke & sleep, ugh. Here’s the little one where he climbs up the big wooden bear to get onto hutch to chew on my silk flowers, haha!

                                MAE ALL...from snowmagedon!

Mick...I could be looking out my window with those pics. Our snow started about 3pm and is going to go all night and tomorrow with a forecast of 30cm. At least it waited till the weekend to hit. I think mother nature made up for the lack of it all week. Rain after snow spells disaster. I have never been trapped in my car due to road conditions only because I'm not stupid enough to be on them. Hope you're able to stay put this weekend. So glad you reposted the bunny pic. Wanted to see how stressed they were. LOL

Slo...I just love new born clothes and accessories, everything is so cute. You're going to have your hands full with all that babysitting. Glad you're getting a break from it today. I was ever so lucky when my kids were in daycare, they were angels, yeah right. I'm glad Beckett is recovering. Yes, the tracker is actually going to come in real handy when I discuss my workload with the boss. I'm glad we don't have pool and swimming lessons, people do book at the crack of dawn because spots fill up so fast.

Lav...oh yay for you, more mud! Rain and then freezing can be treacherous, you be careful if you're outside. Bite your tongue, chickens in the community garden, I'd have to resign. LOL The city did allow people to have chickens in their yards and guess where they're all ending up, yup the animal shelters. I'm sure the boss would consider a part time prog coordinator to take some of the load off. We just need to figure out what's going on with the MIA one. I wish that would get resolved so we could move on. I'm barely a cook let alone a baker. Thanks but I'll pass on the bread but the banana spongecake recipe sounds interesting. I'll have to google pullman loaf pan though. When I was drinking I never had a sweet tooth. Now I'll go on sweet benders and bring home cakes every so often. Just blows the kids away because they're not used to having sweets. LOL I've been thinking of the kitten, so glad Slo asked and thanks for sharing the pic.

TG...I hope you're taking time for yourself. Lav raises a couple of good questions.

Got lots of books to see me through this snowy weekend. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP
