5 March

Good morning!

It was just a day of R&R yesterday -one of those ridiculous days where only getting 6 or less hours of sleep for a few nights catches up with me, and I napped all afternoon, then still went to bed early, and slept through’til early morning.
Today I’ll head up to my daughter’s house to help take care of a newborn, a 1-year-old, and a barely 3 y/o who is getting his tonsils out tomorrow. I need to be well-rested!

TG, as long as you don’t mind sharing breakfast as well as dinner with your sweet elder friend, enjoying her company while she’s still here.

PQ, hope you are finding the balance between resting and keeping busy over the weekend, in order to rejuvenate for the work week as well as finding enough distractions to keep NoSmo going.

Lav, we had a couple warm-ish days here (40s F), so it was nice to be able to get out for little walks. Your mud sounds difficult; makes it hard to feed the chickens and check on your garden beds. I hope you have a nice day out visiting and hearing all about the NYC trip.

Welcome home, Mick! That carved graffiti in the tower was fascinating.

Re: 5 March

Greetings friends,

I had a real nice afternoon with my 12 yr old grown up granddaughter. She’s such a happy kid & very pleasant.
My daughter is dragging & can’t seem to get rid of a case of viral bronchitis she picked up in the schools where she works (germ factories). They’re heading to London & Paris for 10 days at the end of the month so I hope she gets herself feeling better soon.

Slo, with this full moon thing sleep is difficult although I did seem to sleep better last night. You are going to need all the energy you can muster up to watch the kids this week. I hope Beckett has an easy time with the tonsillectomy. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all of you

Cyn, glad you are close enough to help your friend when needed. She’s lucky to have your help!

G, good to see you dropping by.

Mick, glad you got home after the road delay & all. Thanks for all the pics, very interesting!!

PQ. Hope your day was nice & snow-free!!!

Hello to all & hoping we all have a nice night!!

MAE ALL...

Had a really down day today for some reason. The temp plummeted on Saturday and staid cold today so I didn't get out for any walks. That might have had something to do with my mood. Just wanted to check in with everyone though.

Slo...thanks for starting the thread and hope you get a good sleep tonight.

Mick...glad to hear you're home safe and sound.

Lav...sounds like you had a good day.

TG...you are so good to be there for your elderly friend.

Going to be an early night for me. Hope everyone gets a restful sleep....:smile:PPQP

MAE ALL...bitterly cold out there but the snow has stopped. Going to be like this all week. My mood has improved so at least there's that. It was a busy day at work, a lot of sitting at the computer so I'm a little stiff now.

Mick...yup, managed to lose the blues and got a good sleep last night. Do you usually get snow in March? With the day being busy it did fly by. Glad the rabbits are happy and they probably think you planted new grass shoots just for them. Take it all went well at the hotel with those two.

Waves to Slo, TG and Lav, I'll check to see how your days were in a bit. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Hey kids!

All is well here. We’re getting more rain tonight with some snow flakes mixed in. I guess this will increase the mud situation around here haha!!

PQ, those blue days just happen for no particular reason, especially this time of year. Glad today was better for you.
Sitting in front of a computer all day would make me stiff too, ouch. Set a timer for yourself to get up & walk around once in a while. My Fitbit used to do that for me until it croaked, Lol
I slept better last night, hope you do as well.

Mick, washing the van in the rain? Your neighbors must think you’re a kook, haha!
Glad the bunnies are feeling comfy at home doing what bunnies do.
PS: I can’t giddyup either LOL

Hello to Cyn & Slo, both of you busy ladies

Hello to all & wishing a nice night for everyone!

Mae all -

G. So good to see you! Thx for dropping in... it gives me a chance to say how inspiring your posts were for me in my early days here... so appreciated!

Lav, good luck with the mud! My your daughters is a traveling fiend, good for her. Hope your weather improves.

SLO - I’ll be thinking about you tomorrow... I hope all goes well...

PPQ - I have been in a funk a bit lately... I’m blaming it on the almost-full moon... lots of weird things going on all over.., glad your spirits improved.

Mick, loved the jokes, thank you! So relieved that you are home safe and sound. Lovely that the bunnies are doing well, no stress. Enjoy some peace and quiet for a bit, okay?

Wishing all well -

Evening check-in before bed:

Beckett’s T&A surgery went fine today, and they put tubes in his ears too. Mabel took a good nap today. I get to hold that tiny little Cooper too! I made Parmesan Chicken with rice and broccoli for dinner. Had a pretty snowfall up here in the early evening, and also overnight last night. I’ll take that over rain & mud!

Your van is a beaut, Mick! You washed it and let the rain rinse it I guess.
I wonder if those double entendres jokes would be good to share with English-as-a-second-language students, as a way to learn words with double meanings?

Glad your blue day moved on, PQ. I get them fairly often. They are a part of the detox process too, and you are detoxing from nicotine right now.

I guess you’ll just have to rest more each day, TQ, as you slowly bounce back from Covid.

Your daughter & her family sure get around, Lav! A European trip for Spring Break! I hope she gets better by then.

It feels good to be up here with this little family. I think I’ll sleep well tonight.

Hello and how are we today then? It is a very cold day over here but it is really sunny with blue skies! So in that case we can certainly put up with the cold. Both rabbits don't seem to be bothered with it however, and they are happily eating the new grass shoots. Van has been cleaned inside and out now, all the water drained off thankfully I did that yesterday before it froze last night, so all is good

Hiya lav how are you today then? hope all is well with you. Crazy enough you want going to believe this but I couldn't really care if the neighbours thought I was off my head anyway! The rabbits have definitely settled in together, I opened their hutch this morning and they both came out together. Argyle is a real case he is so friendly. Hope you have a great day

Hiya slo glad the op went well not sure about the jokes and the double entendre but you could always give them one to find out haha. It sounds like you have got your hands pretty full at the moment karma take care and look after yourself.

Hiya ppqp how are you doing today,?glad you got rid of the blues .no snow but they keep telling us it's on the way how is the nosmo king doing?you can do it!!!!!

Hiya teegee how are are you feeling today then? Hope you have managed to shake off the blues as well. I think a lot of people are suffering from the after effects of covid and didn't know so what they actually were. Fatigue lack of energy and lack of enthusiasm are definitely on that list. Take things slowly I guess.
Hiya pauly det pie Sam etc hope all is well with you. Take care and be safe xxx

Re: 5 March

I slept well until 2 am, when Beckett hemorrhaged badly and had to be taken back to the hospital for surgery to cauterize the bleeding wounds where his tonsils had been taken out. There was so much blood it looked like a crime scene in here! Plus he vomited more blood while in the emergency room, plus they had to pump his stomach of more blood. He’s back home now, with a chalky white complexion. His parents are exhausted! Thankfully Mabel & tiny Cooper are taking nice naps. The chalky white one won’t sleep, despite being up all night.

I’m missing a sunny day outside! Kinda tired though. Maybe when Mabel wakes up, I’ll get her and the dog outside some, in the snow.

Good to see you, Guitarista! Hello to all.

Greetings friends,

Sunny but very cold & windy here today. It’s too muddy to do anything outside anyway.

Slo, I’m sorry to hear Beckett had to go back to the hospital, poor kid. I hate seeing the little ones dealing with stuff like that. They do heal quickly though so I hope he stays hydrated & gets some rest. I’m sure all the adults are tired too. Take good care of yourself & everyone

Mick, haha I remember my grandson sticking food in the VCR way way back but it wasn’t a burrito, Lol
Glad you & the bunnies are doing well.

Cyn, believe it or not I still have some lingering cough from Covid. It just takes time to spring back. The older we get the longer it takes unfortunately.
I ran across this on FB & I think it explains a lot: A47F0D1C-E08E-4011-97CC-DE4D4F76C62E.jpg

MAE ALL...man what a day. Glad this one is over. It was no stop go the minute I walked into the office. Having an issue with one of our long term renters, they're not playing nice! Lots of rental inquiries, spring program registrations and I've been trying to get organized for Craft Sale, Community Clean Up, Community Garden. I hate having to announce everything a month in advance. Oh well, makes the day go by fast.

Lav...I'm a worrier by nature and when money is tight (or non existent) it really gets me down. Didn't have time to think about money today. LOL I had planned on moving every 1/2 hour while at work but sometimes 2 hours will go by without me even noticing. I'll have to do better with that. You'll probably be in the mud zone for awhile now. It's still bitterly cold here, it's been -19C/-2F since Saturday, geeze!

TG...hope your mood has improved and that you're taking care of yourself.

Slo...was going to say glad to hear everything went good with Beckett yesterday until I read today's post. That would have been a shock to wake up to. Not sure how old I was when I had my tonsils out but I was a bleeder as well. Didn't go through what Beckett did though. I bet you're tired. Hope you were able to get out for a bit.

Mick...I used to think it didn't matter what the temp was as long as it was sunny but I'm starting to change my mind. LOL So glad the rabbits have settled in. I'm having a tough time with the nosmo to be honest. Haven't bought a pack but have bummed 3 cigs. I do feel that's pretty good, 3 cigs in 32 days! I'm planning on being more active outdoors when it warms up and that will help.

Shout out to Det, Sam and Pauly. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP
