    MAE ALL...

Sorry for MIA but I really had to unplug this weekend. I felt like I put 2 weeks worth of work in last week. Had a successful AGM Thursday night and did manage to take Friday afternoon off. This time tracking has sure opened my eyes to how long it actually takes to complete one event rental. We're on a freeze melt cycle, warm and sunny during the day and then everything freezes over night. Makes for some tricky walking but I did spend a lot of time outside this weekend. Time to do some chores and get ready for the week ahead. I did read back a bit and it sounds like everyone is doing ok. I will check in daily next week as it's too hard to remember everyone's story after the fact.

Mick...thanks for kicking off the thread. I did get a little confused with last weeks thread being closed, new one started and then the original one opened again. Hopefully this thread stays intact.

Shout out to everyone else, will check in with you all in the morning. Have a nice Sunday all....:smile:PPQP

      Re: 19th March.

      MAE all,

Sorry to go MIA. I got busy with travel for child-minding, etc., and some heartbreak. My young daughter wouldn’t let me sleep over at my old house with her and my old dog last night, while her dad was away on vacation. She kicked me out. So many losses. At least I know where I stand with her now. He (ex-HB) has my Baby now too, and I’m chopped liver, cast out on my ear.

I tried again to wean caffeine, and I can’t do it. It’s a good thing I’m not trying to wean from nicotine.

TG, this is your client friend in California, who moved from out East, presumably to be near family as her health is declining? So sad. Sad for her husband too, as it’s hard for him too. He’s overwhelmed. Parkinson’s disease is awful. I hope a solution can be found through home care or through assisted living.

That joke is hysterical, Mick! That sounds like a fun playground you made for the rabbits in the conservatory.

Hope you and the greyhound dog had a good trip together, Pie.

Spring is coming, Lav! We went back to cold & snow here though.

PQ, you did need to really rest this weekend, since you overdid it all last week with the extra work.

I’ll help my mother pack this afternoon, then sleep over at Huxley’s to babysit him for a couple days, Monday and Tuesday.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

        Good Spring eve everyone

The temp is falling below freezing tonight but Spring arrives tomorrow so I’m happy about that. It will warm up soon enough.
I just realized I posted on the wrong thread last night haha!

Mick, thanks for starting up this week’s thread & I hope you got your sunshine this afternoon.
There always seems to be a cat underfoot, they’ll learn someday when they get tired of being stepped on I guess. Good luck with the car shopping, not a favorite thing of mine.

PQ, glad you took some time to rest up a bit. We can only goat full steam for so long, then it’s time to take a break.
I hope your snow continues to melt & disappear. Who needs it, right??

Slo, I’m so sorry to hear about your young daughter treating you like that. What’s it to her where you choose to spend a night? Not sure how I would handle that situation. Maybe she needs to be treated in a similar fashion, doubt she would enjoy it either.
I hope the start of your week with Huxley goes well for you.

        Cyn, thinking of you!

Hello to Pi, how’s it going?

        Have a nice night all!

          Re: 19th March.

          Mae all,

I got a little confused about who/what/where and posting... then I figured that it probably doesn't matter, but please excuse me if I miss some of the goings-on! My cognition is not improving from when I had Covid in February... I am the poster-child for absent-minded and lost thoughts, uuuuughhh so frustrating. Especially as I'm supposed to be the one "with all the answers"... I just about wrote to all my clients today to tell them I am closing up shop, they have to find someone else with all the answers. Then I took a walk and calmed down, but I do need to dial things down for awhile until I know that I can think straight, grrrrrrrr.

SLO - I was so saddened by your telling about the house and young daughter. I think I would throw a fit if someone kept me away from a pet... it seems so senseless, and I'm sorry you have to go through this. Good luck, and I hope that being with Huxley picked up your spirits.

Lav, having those Amish boys around must be a good thing... I imagine that they do good work? Hope so. I think of you when I speak with my suffering clients - how did you handle all that for the years that you were nursing? I think you (and probably most nurses) deserve a medal (and probably a lot of back pay).

Pi - how lucky greyhound rescue is to have you do the transporting of the rescues. And thank you for your work in rescuing... all my dogs have been rescues (and very interesting personalities because of that) but I have loved them all. I really, really miss having a dog now, but it just wouldn't work for me now, so I am content to give love to the pups here at my apartment complex.

Mick - good luck with the car search, that can be awfully time-consuming. I love that Argyl wants to be close to you -- he is forever grateful to you for saving him, I think.

PPQ - so glad you took some time for yourself -- I hope this upcoming week is a little easier for you, and that the weather warms up. we were 11 F yesterday, but hopefully the turn to spring will bring some warmth.

Hello to all stopping by - may we be well -

                Re: 19th March.

                Happy Spring 2023 friends

It’s finally here, we made it through the long & dark winter. We enjoyed a sunny & dry day although it’s chilly still. I think it’s going to warm up later in the week.
I’m looking forward to cleaning up these garden beds then deciding what to plant when it’s warmer.

Cyn, I’m sorry you’re dealing with trouble concentrating. I actually think I am too as evidenced by some of the stupid things I’ve done lately. Felt like an idiot in the supermarket yesterday, dropping everything I took from a shelf. Then I got to the self-checkout & had to really push myself to get it all done. I’m sure your clients will understand, at least I hope they do. I have also been pretty much staying out of my embroidery shop, decided not to do any spring/summer craft fairs. I want to rest what’s left of brain, you should too
You’re absolutely right, the Amish kids are hard workers & deserve to be paid well. That young man has gotten into horse shoeing for his trade. He doesn’t have the proper steel toed boots he needs so we ordered them on Amazon for him & his father will reimburse us. The teens aren’t allowed to have their own bank accounts so all the money they make has to be held by the parents.
30 years of nursing wore me out, physically, mentally & every way you can think of honestly. But I wouldn’t hesitate to help someone who needs an occasional hand at this point. I still care about people but not in a full time way if you know what I mean. You can’t allow yourself to get too attached to them, makes everything too hard.

Pi, how did your dog transport go?

Mick, are you looking at new or used cars? We always had bad luck buying used vehicles when we were young & finally started buying new to avoid all the hassles. Still not my favorite thing to do.
                Hope you enjoyed the curry!

PQ, how was your Monday? I hope this week is less hectic for you.

Slo, have fun with Huxley this week.

                Have a nice night all!

                  Re: 19th March.

MAE ALL...it was one of the better Monday's I've had in a long time. Nice and quiet, most of my programs have wound down till April now. Started working on the Tennis Court Booking site and ran into a problem with memberships and credit cards. Managed to get it fixed. Then childcare came in with a unique booking problem that I managed to come up with a work around for. And to top it all off the Program Coordinator has decided to retire. LOL

Slo...sorry to hear how your daughter treated you. Like they say you can't control other people but you can control how you react. As you say now you know where you stand. It'll be nice to spend a few days babysitting Huxley. Hope your day was good.

Lav...you be careful around those cats, you don't need to be falling. I definitely needed the break this weekend, it was nice to have Friday afternoon off. My weather is the same as yours, sunny and dry but still a bit chilly. There is a lot of snow around I don't think we're done with it yet. Sounds like you do need a brain rest and this is the perfect time. Concentrate on cleaning out those flower beds and deciding what to plant this year. Good decision not to do a spring/summer craft fair.

TG...I got confused over the who/what/where to post so you're not alone. And you're right it really doesn't matter. I think dialing things down for a bit is the right decision. I can't see you completely stopping what you're doing.

Pi...yup, still at the community centre with a new General Manager who seems to get it and is actually willing to work. Told the boss about an idea I had but that my plate was full so if he thought it was a good idea he'd have to do it himself. His answer was ya I think I can come up with something. LOL I'm glad to hear you're still doing the rescues, I'm sure that brings you a lot of satisfaction and accomplishment.

Mick...sounds like you had a long day. I don't envy you the chore of car hunting. Good luck tomorrow, maybe that'll be the one! Curry sounds like the perfect meal for your dreary day. Hope you have a good night.

Left overs for dinner tonight. Made a batch of my spaghetti sauce yesterday, really didn't feel like making it but glad I did.

Shout out to Det, Sam and Pauly. Heard Red Rock Canyon is for 60cm/2ft of snow! Have a nice night all...:smile:PPQP

                    Re: 19th March.

                    Mae all,

As Lav said "Happy Spring!" I decided to take and afternoon walk for a break from my work, and I realized as I was walking that it was right around the time when the "switch" was occurring (astrologically). So I smiled and said happy spring to the trees... and I noticed that the buds are swelling... such hopeful signs.

Lav, I think that working in the garden would be a great break for you! I would welcome that so much, but there's no garden here in my apartment! Maybe if I stay put this summer I can grow some herbs on my balcony... or volunteer for a community garden, if there is one around here. (Kinda doubt it, but who knows.) I think physical work is so good for our bodies and brains...

Mick, good luck on the car hunt. I am looking also, but I will get a used one... just get my "tough act" together before I have to talk to the salespeople...

PPQ, congrats on everything at work. What a wonderful day - to figure out so many things! And set boundaries and keep them! I love the sound of your spaghetti sauce... I should try that too - make a big pot and divide it up...

SLO - here's hoping that your time with Huxley is happy and not too tiring.

Pie - did the rescue transfer go well? Or maybe you are still on the delivery portion. Again, thx for doing such beautiful work.

That's me tonight - wishing all well -
                    TG

                      Re: 19th March.

Yes, the rescue transport was completed smoothly on Saturday. Pup is now in the care of an excellent group who will see to his needs like neutering, dental cleaning, etc. This breed is known for tremendous tartar build up, and his teeth looked really bad to me. Likely he will need extensive mouth care, including extractions. Hoping to learn more in a few days.

I'm with y'all in noticing the need to work harder at concentration and memory. Just one more aging related adjustment to make? TG, you got the Covid this February?

PQ, so glad to hear you've got an improved GM! Over the years, you've handled so many of the center's operations. They're so fortunate to have your experience, concern, and work ethic day in and day out.

Mick, looking forward to learning what you choose on the new car front. Wondering if Argyl is a new wabbit? Has Jeeves left us?

Lav, started garden bed clean up last month, and just yesterday put in some new plants. Here it's important to get the heavy work done before oppressive heat sets in. Might add a few more plants, and mulch this week.

Thank you all for saving my seat. :heartbeat:

                        Re: 19th March.

Sorry I got too tired to post last night. Having a good couple of days with Huxley. He is so cute at 8 months! Huge blue eyes, a full head of blond hair that parts at the side, big bright smile with two dimples! He is sick though with a super runny nose and a chesty cough. I hope I don’t get it. I bought some silver throat spray to ward it off.
This is my last scheduled day with Huxley; then the day care provider wants him to go there full time to “get used to it” and be consistent.

Young daughter is within her rights to make me go out of the house, because it’s her dad’s house now. Hers and her dad’s. Well, I couldn’t keep it after the divorce. That would be financially foolish of me, I would think; to take on a full-sized aging family home. She will be living there this summer with her dad, to be close to her work as a teacher’s aide at the Summer School program at her old high school. I thought I would stop in to see her at home in the afternoons after her work, when her dad was still at work. I know not to now.

What kind of car are you after, Mick? I love my Ford Escape, but it’s a 2016, and I put the miles on fairly quickly. So by next year or the year after, I’ll need to be looking too. Curry sounds like the perfect end to your day, and especially on a rainy day.

PQ, you are invaluable there at the community center. Thankfully you have a decent boss to work with now -and FINALLY the bad and absentee Program Coordinator will be gone!

I feel foggy and tired a lot too. I have added a Thiamine supplement in, to help with what I think is an oxalate sensitivity, and am feeling better with that.
I hope Spring will help you heal fully from Covid, TG. Getting out and getting regular sunshine…

I never picked up the gardening habit in my life. It is supposed to be healing to dig in the dirt. Luckily you have a long growing season in Texas, Pie.

I’m happy to see Spring too, Lav! Was able to get Huxley and their dog out for a nice walk yesterday. With the Voltaren pain gel daily to my knee, I can increase my walks to 25 minutes now instead of only 12.

Will take Huxley to my mother’s house this afternoon to take pictures of the furniture she is moving, in order to get an estimate from a moving company. Take care!

Hiya all how are we today then?hope all is good..phoned up about going to look at this car. The guy said that they are now internet sales only .I pay a deposit, they then clean the car up etc then I go and look at it.then if I want it I buy it. If not then they return the deposit. Call me strange, but I like to browse and choose so didn't bother what I did get though was a second bike..exactly the same as the first one. A Btwin 120 tilt folding bike .it needed a clean and chain tightened. They look like new.so for the 2 bikes, a helmet stands and carry bag about £600 worth for £185 plus a few hours work and cleaning. Julie is well impressed with her bike we are sitting in the conservatory with the rabbits they are brilliant.

Hiya ppqp how are you doing,?hopefully you are doing good yes you will soon see where the time goes especially on these "just "jobs.its certainly a good tool to take to any bilateral.

Hiya lav. How are you doing today,?hopefully you are doing ok..nah,you know me..I want a car that looks good yet can be a bin as required, all for a couple of dollars the curry was lovely.
We all do crazy things..but cast your mind back..you did the same or similar when you were younger..its just as we get older they tend to stick out more. I am with you. I do care for others but nowadays in this world. Me and mine come first .I saw on the news about trump possibly being arrested,. That will be interesting. Hope you have a good day

                              Greetings friends,

It was sunny & 60 degrees here today, nice
Need to go get chicken feed tomorrow so they don’t starve, haha. That means a lunch out somewhere in Lancaster County Mick.

Cyn, I think we need to rest our post-Covid brains but at the same time exercise them if you know what I mean like physical therapy. I’m not willing to lose any more brain cells, haha.
I think balcony gardening sounds perfect. You can get a nice herb box going, a tomato plant or two, etc. I really do enjoy digging in the dirt & enjoying whatever decides to grow. Take care of yourself

PQ, sounds like things are good in your world. Glad the work stuff is somewhat manageable.
I had a FB memory from 5 years ago today where we were getting a pretty good snowstorm. Hasn’t happened this winter, weird.

Pie, glad your pup transfer went well. I’m jealous of your gardening but I couldn’t cope with your summer heat. I’ll have to practice some patience & wait for the right time to plant.

Slo, glad your Huxley time has been good. Getting outside with the little ones is always nice.
I’m really liking the Votaren gel for my messed up feet. I absolutely wrecked them working all those years. Nice that you doubled your walking time!!!

Mick, have yo thought about some sort of pickup truck for those messy jobs? I’m glad we have the truck for dragging 250 pounds of chicken feed home or bags of potting soil & fertilizer. That way my car stays pretty clean now that the grandkids have grown Lol.
If Trump is indicted & arrested tomorrow I’ll be doing a happy dance. That fool deserves anything he gets!!
