    Re: 19th March.

MAE ALL...another steady day with no drama and programing problems popping up.

TG...you could always google vertical gardening, there's so many options including herbs. Yes, it was a nice start to the week. I can only eat so much spaghetti and then I add macaroni and cheese to it and bake it as a casserole. A co-worker of mine puts it on nacho chips and in tacos. Let me know if you want the recipe.

Pi...glad the rescue went smoothly. Sounds like he's going to need a lot of attention. The new GM made everybody's work life better, we all started communicating with each other again. He's a little heavy on meetings. I've learned to keep my mouth shut and not volunteer for anything. LOL Thanks for the kind words, I do feel appreciated now.

Slo...I bet you got tired. Glad you enjoyed your time with Huxley and I hop you don't catch any as well. Makes sense that the daycare provider wants him full time to get used to things but I bet there'll be lots of days he'll have to stay home. LOL You've got a good attitude with your daughter's situation, stay positive. Thank you for your words. I am so glad that things have smoothed out at work. I remember all the bitching I did on here a couple of years ago. Got to say it was kind of satisfying to eliminate the prog coord from the website, newsletter, email account. LOL Good luck with the moving estimate.

Mick...internet sales only...hmm sounds strange to me. Nope, not strange I agree with the browse and choose. Good choice to give him a pass. I missed what had happened with the bike but it sounds like the second bike was a good score. I agree the tracker is a good tool and I did have a good day.

Lav...getting chicken feed is always a good excuse for a lunch out. Yup, things are good and work is manageable. I've had those FB memories pop up and do consider myself lucky even if this winter has dragged on. Hope your weather continues to stay warm and sunny.

Younger son is into making pasta salad as long as I supply him with Feta cheese. Hope there's some left because that's going to be my dinner.

Shout out to Det, Sam and Pauly. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

      Re: 19th March.

      Mae all -

Short note tonight - though I loved reading all the news from you -- have just spent HOURS online (yes, Mick online) looking at cars and options and reviews. And in a couple of cases stopped short of wasting my time going to see cars... I used a company call "BeenVerified" to get all the details on some cars I was interested in... they all had accident reports and or Salvage notices!!!! I can see that I'll have to increase what I am willing to pay if I want a car that has a clean record. Sigh. My eyesight is so blurry at this point that I'll just say goodnight. (Also, I AM getting outside - making sure that I get sunshine in my eyeballs, or at least get my body moving... one day it was 11 degrees and gale -force winds, but I got outside. Thanks for the encouragement to keep at it! I'll look into the gardening - it all depends on IF I go west again, as I have in the past summers... all will be revealed...

Wishing all well - sorry not to say hello personally to each - thanks for your patience!
      TG

        Re: 19th March.

Hi TG, I think every post is a good post, and likely therapeutic in one way or another for yourself, and/or others.

Not sure what IÂ’m doing today. Chances are good though that either flower beds or dogs will be involved.

        Greetings, All!

Hiya all..how are we doing today then?hope all is well .not long home, been looking at cars, completely forgot that it is yoga night tonight, so I need to get my skates on.
Saw a couple of cars, but value for money..nah everyone seems to be trying to recover covid losses. At least I know what type I want now. Just booked a couple of days away at our local site beginning of April, before we go on our big jaunt. Take the bikes and go for a few bimbles on them. Apologies for the short post, but I need to get ready.
Take care and be safe all

            MAE ALL...

Short post from me too before I jump onto my Community Cleanup Zoom meeting with the city. I sure hope it doesn't last the 2 hours they scheduled. Was swamped at work and my usual 20 minute meeting with the boss went for an hour and 20 minutes. Didn't get 1/2 done of what I wanted to accomplish, oh well there's always tomorrow. Had a resident stop in 5 minutes before I was leaving and wanted to know all about the community centre, the advantage of a membership, what we offered, what events we had planned, and on and on and on. so was late getting out of there.

            Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

              Re: 19th March.

              Good evening friends,

We had a nice repeat today of sun & 60 degrees. The next few days will be interrupted with rain though.
The severe storm out west are worrisome, hope they don’t make it to the east coast. One of my brothers, who is 75 now just had a repeat clearing of his Left carotid artery today. We have such an awful family history of clogged arteries & really need to pay attention to diet, exercise, etc which h doesn’t. He will be discharged from the hospital tomorrow if nothing pops up overnight. I’d love to call him & offer support but he refuses to talk to me because I am the ‘ultimate bitch’, LOL

PQ, glad you had the opportunity to personally delete the program manager. You earned that right, haha!!
We did get 450 pounds of chicken feed, scratch & oyster shell today but decided to skip lunch. The place YB likes to go for lunch doesn’t have anything under a 1000 calories, LOL. We both need to keep dropping the winter weight which seems harder to do every year.

Cyn, on the one hand I imagine searching the internet for a vehicle saves time but it’s just not the same as being out there kicking tires. Since we moved down to this area we’ve used only one car dealer, they’re trustworthy & they know us well enough to not try to put the screws to us. I wish you luck on your search. Take care of yourself!

Pi, I’m guessing it was the flowers today

Mick, I hope yoga went well & wishing you luck on your vehicle search too

Slo, how was your day today?

Hello to everyone & hope we all have a nice night!

                Re: 19th March.

Will try to post a little before my houseguest arrives imminently. I had a real nice day. Got my tasks and errands done efficiently, and went out to lunch at Applebees with my former Sister-in-law and her caregiver whom I’m friendly with, and then we went to the Domes (think Longwood Garden’s poor cousin) and enjoyed tropical and desert botanicals with their warm air -a respite on this cold, damp day.

Haha, Lav! Yeah, that was fun for PQ to get to delete the program coordinator personally!

Pie, I live in Wisconsin. Howzat for a heavy-drinking state?! We usually rank first for # of binge drinkers, # of drunk drivers, etc.

I think I hear my overnight guest arriving!

and good morning all.how are we doing today then?hope everyone is doing ok. cold day over here again today ,but at least it is dry.Yoga was good ...it gets frustrating at times ,Im not allowed to do headstands or inversions ,there are another couple of folk in the same boat,so we have to do different exercises.Car hunt didnt go great ,but Im sure I will get one

hiya Lav ,how are you today?hope all is well .how is your brother doing?I get so frustrated and annoyed at my brother ,his attitude at times winds me up so much .yep I hafta drop the winter pounds too...as you say it gets harder as the years go on .Ive got to lose about 8lbs..mebbe Ill chop my leg off ...job done .!!!hope you have a good day .

hi Slo,how are you doing today? hope all is good..Did your house guest arrive?are you into gardening or just like the plants?hope you have a lovely day.

hiya ppqp..how are you doing? all good? dont forget to add the extra hour on to your chart for meeting with your boss!!how are you feeling nowadays health wise? hope you are better .yep why go crazy working today when it will be there tomorrow.I guess you will be starting to get busier now that the seasons are changing .

hiya teegee ...how are you doing?hope you are ok .I dont mind looking at cars online ,or finding a decent dealer ,but I certainly wouldn't buy or reserve a car online without actually seeing it .Yes I find it annoying too ,you see a good bargain or a car you like ,to read the advert to find in small print somewhere that it is a Cat N or S ..been involved in an accident or written off and rebuilt.ok they may be roadworthy ,but it bumps the insurance up .and also the price is lowered of you try to sell it in the future.Go west ....get the sun ...take care and have a good day .

hiya pie ...how are you doing?hope all iswell with you .. what was it dogs or plants?or both ...take care and have a nice day .

right good people ...and so the day starts ..take care and have a good one.

                    Re: 19th March.

MAE ALL...zoom meeting went really well last night. New city employee has taken over the community cleanups and she know her stuff.

Lav...oh you "UB"! That's my title from my sister. LOL I walked into the office this morning and saw the red light on the prog coord's phone and thought dang, I forgot to take her off the phone menu. She's gone now. LOL I managed to drop my winter weight in January but I don't recommend that method to anybody. At least your weather interruptions will be rain, ours is going to be snow. I'm sure it'll be more like snow showers, I think we're done with the heavy stuff. Knock wood.

Slo...sounds like you had a really nice day yesterday, just what you needed. I buy the lottery tickets for a group of us at work and haven't had a chance to look at Wednesday's draw. This is the first draw without the prog coord, would be a hoot if we hit the big one without her.

Mick...you can live that yoga frustration, we'd rather have you whole. I'm sure you'll find the car you want, slow and steady wins the race. The spring programs will be starting soon so I'll have time to work on a new tennis court booking system, new online childcare registration program, new venue booking system and try to make them all work together. Geeze, it never ends. I'm feeling pretty good these days but still get a little weary at the end of the day. Probably due to the increased work more than anything.

Shout out to TG, Det, Sam and Pauly. Planning on an early evening once I figure out what to have for supper. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

                      Re: 19th March.

                      Good evening friends,

Today was sun, clouds, rain……but relatively mild. It will be getting slightly cooler over the weekend, not surprised.

Slo, sounds like you had a nice day yesterday, glad you got out. We haven’t actually been to Longwood Gardens in months. YB is too busy to go so I’ll just likely take myself & take my time seeing things

Mick, I heard from my sister-in-law & my brother is home & doing fine. He’s darn lucky considering the family history we have.
It’s funny I have about 8 pounds to lose as well. Which leg did you chop off? Haha!!

PQ, it seems it’s always the siblings with the biggest problems that start all this sh*t. My brother has had a drinking problem since he returned from Vietnam but we always got along. He pulled that stunt on me when I asked him nicely to please stop picking on my daughter-in-law on FB. She was pretty young & not used to the sibling BS being an only child. So I figured to keep my peace I’ll just pretend he’s not around anymore, Lol. I just wish he would have gotten his depression treated properly decades ago. We were friends, he was Best Man at our wedding. I gave up on him.
I hope your snow showers are light & our rain showers quick.

Cyn, hello to you & I hope all is well.

                      Pi, how are you today?

Pressure washing of the siding at my condos started this morning at 8m. Spent most of the day assisting with small issues. Our property looks quite nice again, for which I’m grateful. Planted a small bougainvillea and a foxtail fern. Still need to get mulch.

That’s all I’ve got for now.

                          Re: 19th March.

                          Mae all -

Sorry if I skipped yesterday (?) things have been hectic - Mick, I actually did buy a car yesterday - I DID drive to a small town 30 minutes away - where my dad grew up and I had family... turns out there were all sorts of connections with the salesman, who played basketball for my uncle at the college in town. And his wife plays golf with my cousin's wife... so it all felt quite homey, he was not a "pressure" guy, and I bought the car after the test drive. Surprise - it's YELLOW! I almost passed on it because of the color, but I really felt like it was the car I've been looking for - 1 owner, immaculately taken care of - so I went for it. Besides, they said it will make me more visible on the road - that's for sure!

I'm starting a really hefty online course - just got through the intro material, OMG. From the University of Vermont: "End-of-Life Doula Certificate". I think it may be my next chapter... if I hadn't already paid the 1K for the course, I might bail... holy cow what a lot of material, plus quizes and mandatory discussions online, etc. Very thorough. But there you have it, so... please be patient if I am not always "Johnny on the Spot" for posting here.

Mick, where are you off to next? I hope you got permission from the rabbits...

Lav, so sorry about your brother. War changes people. My nephew who is Commander in Special Forces (11 tours of Afghanistan) is under suicide-watch... heartbreaking. He won't take the meds they give him. I'm hoping the Navy will get with the times and offer psyllocybin nasal spray, or something else that can act quickly and doesn't make him feel like a zombie. So much for serving your country - now we need to serve him, and save him...

SLO - I'm glad you had a good time with your former SIL... nice when connections continue.

PPQ - I was tired from reading all that you accomplished!! Be sure to get some rest - TGIF tomorrow!

Pie - I love to hear about flowers being planted and dogs! You are living my dream life - dogs and plants. Great to hear -

Okay, I'm going to take my Covid-foggy brain and try to get a good night's sleep. I keep waking up in the wee hours, staying awake, and then getting and hour in before I have to get up. Grrrr! Ah well, I have new "sleep" gummies to try...

                          May we be well -
                          TG

Good morning! Sorry, my friend has been staying with me, overnight for two nights; and I can’t get a chance alone to post. She is still sleeping now.

I caught (my baby grandson) Huxley’s and his mother’s bad cold!! Today I was supposed to be driving my mother and sister up to meet (my infant grandson) Cooper, and see (my baby grandson) Andy, who has traveled a long distance with his parents for this weekend to meet newborn Cooper! I’m bummed -but I know how they feel about having their babies exposed.

Congratulations on the new car, TG! You really did your homework, and found a good one, other than the weird color. Interesting how your roots went deep in the small town, and maybe helped with the sale. Comforting to be so rooted.

PQ, good thing the meeting was productive the other night! Otherwise it would be hard to go through a long, unproductive one after you already had had another long meeting that day.

I want to lose exactly 8 pounds also! I have alarmingly put on weight over the Winter, and continue to.

Mick, that crop of play-on-word jokes were particularly creative! Is your dentist appointment coinciding with rush hour traffic in Manchester, or is it always that way?

War certainly changes people permanently…shell-shocked and all. In that way, the surviving soldiers are casualties of war as well.

Your condos must get dusty where you are, Pie. Spring has arrived for you, with plants to plant and freshly washed buildings. We woke up to some snow here yesterday.

                                Happy Friday!
