    Re: 16th April

Food trucks are ubiquitous these days. They can really have some good food.

D1 just called. She is all so full of mama guilt for not realizing that Beckett had sinus infections going on this Winter. Well, I didn’t realize it either. I never had a sinus anything, so I’m not sensitive to the symptoms in others. He has his tonsils & adenoids out now, so hopefully he will do better and not struggle with colds so much.

So the “soothing” wind chimes aren’t so soothing, TG?! They had a funny episode about annoying wind chimes on “The Middle” once! That was such a funny show.

I remember “Sky” service in Ireland when D3 was interning and going to school there for 7 months.

Thanks for the movie recommendation, TG.

Will you get cataract surgery too, Lav? You probably have to wait until they get worse. The really annoying thing is the scarred cornea. I hope your new prescription does a good job of correcting your vision.

Good luck with the post-op dog, Pie.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

hiya Slo,how are you today then? hope all is well.Nope I never slept brilliant last night either !Yes Sky has come a long way since its inception ..no more cabling ..its all glass fibre and signals ..hope you have a good day

ppqp...snow tomorrow?????stay wrapped up!thats one of the reasons we moved from Virgin to Sky ...price ...virgin were sneakily putting their charges up,whilst Amazon were bringing in their fire tv,so Sky put up a deal to entice custom. We have got streaming tv ,with extra programmes ,plus landline telephone ,plus Julie got a new phone and tariff....and the monthly charge is ?82 .LESS than virgin were charging for television alone .How is work doing?

so the calming chimes dont work teegee?oh dear ..hope all is well with you today.thanks for your best wishes ,believe me at times they are needed ..take care and have a good day.

hiya Lav ,how are you doing? sorry to hear about the cataracts ,my mum had them,if you look at some of the operations it seems quite straight forward, though I confess the thought of anyone messing with my eyes scares me.I agree with you over the walking...its about maintaining ..not an olympic challenge.you take care .

hiya pie how are you doing ? hope all is well ..how is the dog doing???hope he/she is doing ok.

right peeps take care and have a good day .

I went into a Chinese takeaway last night. The owner of the shop said, "What do you do for a riving?"
I said, "What do I do for a living? I'm a bit of a comedian."
So the Chinese chap says, "Go on then, change colour."
      I said, "No! I'm not a chameleon, I'm a comedian."
So then he says, "Tell me a joke, make me raff."
I said, "You want me to tell you a joke and make you laugh?"
Just then his wok caught fire, so I said, "Wok! Wok!"
      And he said, "Who der?"

        Wok! Wok! I’m here.
All went well with doggy surgery yesterday. She’s a bit lethargic today; takes a while for anesthesia to clear in these skinny hounds. She was happy to see her breakfast however, and to go on a gentle walk. Pathology report expected in 7-10 days.

TG, I enjoy my neighbors’ wind chimes, especially the sound of wooden ones.

Hi fives to you on your housecleaning, Slo. I procrastinate on doing floors, but enjoy the results once done.

PQ, I can picture you ignoring boss’s summer ideas! Do you still do a community garden?

          Hey folks,

Nice day here, can?t complain. I have 43 minutes walking time in so far, just may hit that magical 60 minutes after all.
Rain moving in Saturday night to the tune of 1? I hear.

PQ, keep on ignoring the boss?s thinking out loud thoughts, haha!!!
Apparently my cataracts are still quite young so no talk of surgery yet. If & when the day comes having them extracted these days is like a walk in the park compared to what it was 50 years ago. I remember taking care of those postop patients starting back in ?73, ugh. Today it?s in & out in a matter of a few hours. Hope your day was good!

Slo, no surgery for me at this point. Just looking forward to the new glasses. Being able to see is such a blessing, Lol. Reading has been problematic for quite a while now.
Some kids are prone to tonsillitis & ear infections, some it?s sinus infections & it?s so hard to tell on the little ones since they can?t tell you what?s going on. I know once my tonsils & adenoids were removed I was a lot healthier & stopped having nosebleeds, ugh. Good job on the cleaning, I still drag my tail on that, haha!

Mick, good luck with your new internet & glad to hear Julie?s Dad is improving. We?re still not planting anything here, last night it was down in the 30?s again.
The Amish neighbor is laboring plowing up a giant field for tobacco. They get contracts with companies who buy the full semi dried leaves to use as cigar wrappers. He will probably yield $15-30,000 from that one field!! Of course plowing with a team of horses & some old rusty equipment looks awful but he?s young & eager.

Pie, glad your pup is doing OK. Hope your weather remains decent for gentle walks outside.

Cyn, hello to you, hope your day has been good!

Please excuse the mess on my counters but here’s my hippo gray cabinets:

            MAE ALL...

Slo...waking up at 4 is just too late for me to go back to sleep. Usually stay up and wait for the news to come on. Lately it's been 3am and usually I can mange to get back to sleep for about 3 hours. It really starts to wear on you doesn't it. I've never had sinus issues either. Hopefully Beckett's colds will be milder.

Mick...I wouldn't be comfortable leaving the house with the internet being installed. Good thing you stuck around. Nice savings with the switch. I have my fingers crossed for Julie's Dad. Work is still busy but now that the spring programs have launched the pressures off for a bit.

Pi...so glad doggey surgery went well. I laughed when you said she was happy to see her breakfast. Yup, still have the community garden going with lots more interest since this crazy inflation.

Waves to TG & Lav, will check back later for your posts. Chicken lasagna for supper tonight, just couldn't do beef again. Hope you all have a restful evening...:smile:PPQP

X-post Lav...thanks for sharing the pic, the cabinets look great! Love the colour.

              Howdy,

Well, that cleaning all in one day didn?t work as my knee got quite painful and swollen. I?ve been putting a heat pack on it, but that didn?t do much, other than I burned my skin a bit. So, it is back to having to do a little at a time.
I like vacuuming, Pie. It?s dusting that I dislike.

I love the new cabinets, Lav! Hippo Gray is a good description. Tobacco is quite the cash crop.

Chicken lasagna, PQ; yum! I was back awake at 4:30 this morning, and yeah, just had to stay awake.

The thought of surgery on my eyes scared me to death too, Mick. But, then I felt backed into a corner due to intolerance to contacts and the contact solutions, so had LASIK surgery done in 2005 -and it has been a miracle! My sight was restored to near perfection!
Good thing you kept an eye on the installation process of your new internet service, and got it done right!

It was a cold & rainy day here.

Lav how are you doing?hope all is well. The cabinets look good,Hippo grey?I didnt realise the market was still as strong for tobacco,,that for a young guy is a great return for one field .Go for it with the walking !!!

hiya pie ....glad the surgery went well with the dog...fingers crossed it carries on .We have got wooden wind chimes ,they sound good ..I like the sound of the wood as opposed to the metallic dings.take care and best of luck with the dawgs.

                  Re: 16th April

                  Hello,

Hope you are able to plug away at your challenging course while in Tahoe, TG.

PQ, Mick makes a good point that I didn?t get before: the boss is just thinking out loud!

I was up at 4:48 am today. Grrr. But, I have to get on Huxley?s schedule starting tonight anyways. And D2 & her HB are going to bed at 7:30p tonight before their early flight out.

Big hound continues to convalesce well, Pie?

Mick, I talked to D2 at length about where I stand with the fam on holidays. I didn?t bother with D4 as she?s pretty innocent in it all. D1, whom I really want to discuss it with, I can?t; because of her fatigue and postpartum depression and overwhelm.

Time to pack up and head to Huxley?s house until Sunday night!

                    Re: 16th April

                    Greetings kids,

Real nice day here, sunny & 77 degrees. Did a little work outside pulling weeds & now my allergies are going crazy haha.

PQ, I actually woke up an hour later than usual today, don’t know how that happened. It’s so hard to get decent sleep & now we know how vital it is to our overall health, ugh.
I hope work didn’t drive you crazy today & the weather is half decent

Slo, sorry you aggravated your knee. Have you ever thought of seeing a pain specialist? They could possibly come up with a better plan for you. After all this time your TKR shouldn’t be so touchy.
I am liking the new cabinet color & I’m going to start looking at fabric for a new window treatment to go along with my hippo color theme. I hope you can get things settled soon with your oldest daughter. Enjoy your Huxley time & be sure to take a nap when he does!!

Mick, glad it looks like your trip is still on. I hope you two really enjoy yourselves in Scotland. Is Julie from Scotland too?
I haven’t seen deer in my yard lately but they’re likely not too far away. I think my dog makes a lot of noise keeping them in hiding.

Hello to Cyn & Pi. Hope yuo both had a great day!

                    Have a good night all!

                      MAE ALL...

Slo...sorry to hear about your knee I hope it feels better soon. Do you wear some sort of brace on it while doing chores? Just a thought. I'm with you, dusting is the worst, seems never ending. My last boss was really bad for talking out loud and I quickly learned that he was all talk no action. Not so with this current one. LOL He sent me a spreadsheet with numbers and asked my thoughts. So I said I guess the guy (who wants to rent all day, everyday in July & August) is serious. I was ok with the numbers, it's revenue we can use during the slower summer months. Boss figures the guy is still fishing and probably looking for the best price. It just puts a bit of pressure on me to watch what I book for events for now.

Mick...as I said to Slo, he's not quite like the last boss. My comeback is I'll just say no to anyone who wants to rent and put the pressure back on him. LOL Good to hear about Julie's Dad and that you're moving forward with your plans. Hope it all works out. There's a flight/travel special to Scotland right now and my thoughts were one of these days I'm going to book one of those and try and meet up with you and Julie. I would love to get together in person.

Lav...well I'm glad someone is getting good weather. It was snowing this morning and lasted most of the day. Light fluffy stuff but still cold and overcast. It was very calm at work today for a change. Accountant wasn't in and it was apparent how much drama she brings to the job. Boss left early for a much waited for ultrasound so I was out the door shortly after him. LOL I too woke up an hour later this morning and it really made a big difference. My plan is to get out for a walk after dinner every night when the weather settles down. Nothing strenuous, just some fresh air and movement. I'm thinking that'll help with the sleep. Good luck with the new window treatment, I've always liked royal blue with grey.

TG...hope your course is getting easier to manage.

Pi...hope the greyhound continues to improve.

                      Have a nice night everyone....:smile:PPQP

Mae all - so great to hear everyone?s news?
PPQ, I?m with you - I would love to meet up in Scotland! It?s the last trip I really care about making? we should all go! (Don?t worry Mick, not on this trip &#128521

Lav, did I say that I also love the gray color? Calming and wonderful. And what an e terrorizing young man? I would love to see those fields plowed by a horse?

PPQ, sounds like you have everything ?sorted? with your boss?

SLO, sorry to hear about your pain? good luck with that. I didn?t know D1 has all those conditions; postpartum, etc? o wonder if some of these family issues will straighten themselves out when she starts to feel better? Anyway, here?s hoping so?

Pi, it was good to hear that your ?patient? is doing well? I?m crossing fingers that the margins were clear?

Things are a little easier in this week of class? focusing on how to proactively fight against burnout? this week delves into ?turning toward suffering? and ?self-care?. I?ve never really understood how to do that, so all these questionnaire and being forced to write out Self-Care plans is really good for me. Not easy! But good.
                        Wishing all well -

                              Greetings friends,

Hokey pokey addiction Mick - Ha ha!!
Sounds like you are just about ready for your trip. Hope it’s wonderful, fun & rain free

Cyn, our young Amish neighbor is anything but terrorizing, Lol. They are all hard workers, have to-give them credit.
I can still write a patient care plan with my eyes closed & one hand tied behind my back, geez. Writing a care plan for yourself requires some thought to be sure you address all of your particular stressors. I’m sure you’ll get it done right. Glad the week’s studies are a little lighter. Have a great weekend!

PQ, I do feel lucky having half decent weather while you’re still getting snow, not fair. I’ll pray for warmth & melting for you.
I happen to be wearing a royal blue T shirt today - I like your idea so I’ll look into fabric with hippo gray & royal blue, thanks
I hope you have a gentle weekend.

Slo, hope you & Huxley are having fun

Pie, what’s your weekend looking like?

                              Have a nice night all!

MAE ALL...boss and I sent out 64 business letters encouraging Corporate Memberships. Boss had a call from a pizza company that was interested and we'd never heard of them. New business opened start of Covid so we had to look them up. That did it. Couldn't get pizza off my mind so stopped and got one on the way home. Dinner done.

TG...Scotland is the only trip I want to make before I kick the bucket. I'll need to win the lottery and in that case I'll pay for everyone else's trip. LOL Glad your class is a little easier this week and having to write a Self Care plan is perfect for you. I'm glad you clarified "enterprising young man", I didn't think he was a terrorist either. LOL Try googling apostrophes appear as question marks. It sounds like you've hit a combination of key and switched your keyboard. I've done that before.

Mick...glad to hear the plans are coming together for your trip. I hate those elastic bungees too. I've witnessed too many accidents with them in my time. WOW, I didn't know you were famous bought a tank magazine from 1979,with my smiling face on it ..well my head, you'll have to take a pic of it and share it with us. That was quite the flight, 28hrs and an inflight refuel, thought that was only done in the movies. LOL Yup, I win that lottery and were all going to transcend on Scotland. LOL

Lav...it was like the middle of winter today. Heavy snow that stayed on the ground until about 3 this afternoon. One year we had 2FT of snow this time of year so I'm not complaining too loudly. The prayers will help. I think that's funny you were wearing a royal blue T-shirt today. Good luck with finding the fabric, i think it'll look great.

Slo...hope you're getting some relief, you need those knees to keep up with Huxley.

Pi...thinking of you and crossing fingers with TG that margins were clear...whatever that means. LOL

                                Wishing everyone a good night....:smile:PPQP
