    Re: 7th May

My cat always tried to follow us on walks with the dog too! Yes, very dangerous. He couldn?t understand why he was excluded from the family walks?

That cat puked over & over again all over my carpets again last night! Grrr! So sick of having my new carpets ruined! So, back to feeding him his wet food slowly & incrementally?hard to do when I run in late after being far away for the day with grandkids, and he?s starving.

I fell ill yesterday, so having to take it easy today and try to get over this. It was after a couple nights of bad sleep. So a rough and not very productive day with the grandkids yesterday, since I wasn?t feeling well.

Lav, is the outdoor cat forgiven for killing the bluebirds?!

The day before traveling to help out with the grandkids, I once again helped my mother with packing to move. She sure is a borderline hoarder. Shocking the amount of stuff she keeps, and stocks up, and buys duplicates of many things?then loses things under the mountains of stuff. She?s unearthing a lot of forgotten things! And the filth?doesn?t bother much with cleaning. I?m sure her poor vision plays a part in this -it looks clean to her! But, I knew about this lack of cleaning from clearing out the house I grew up in when she moved from there in 2010.

Good to have you back, Samstone!
So glad you can get away a bit, Mick!
    I have enjoyed everyone?s updates.

      Re: 7th May

      Greetings everyone,

Summer arrived uninvited today - 86 degrees, geez! It will cool off with rain tomorrow so that’s good.

Slo, sorry you’re under the weather again. Please take care & rest up.
Well, I’m still feeding the outside cat since we still can’t trap her to relocate her. I guess she loves me, haha!!
My husband’s ancient cat pukes often, gross. Feeding her is always an issue. If she puked on the hardwood floors it wouldn’t be such an issue but she prefer to stain the carpets, ugh.

Sam, good to see you! I guess being busy is a good thing, right?

Mick, keeping my fingers crossed for an easy & relaxing weekend for you & Julie.

PQ, I’m seeing more in the news about the wildfires north of you. Are you getting a lot of smoke & red sunsets like we get when the western fires are going?
I hope your weekend is nice

Cyn, hello to you, I know you’re busy!

Pie, it almost feels as hot as Texas here today, haha! Have a nice weekend.

So I used the air fryer to cook up a few chicken drumsticks & thighs tonight. Gave them a very light coating of olive oil & a heavy sprinkling of herbs, salt & pepper. Air fried them at 400 degrees for 20 mins &they were perfect. We buy locally produced chicken & have a freezer full. I defrosted 2 packages yesterday. The Amish pack up 1 breast & 1 drumstick & thigh per package. I poached the breast meat to use for other meals.
When we have the grill going on the deck we put corn on (still in the skins), slice zucchini & yellow summer squash in half lengthwise & give them a little olive oil coat with seasonings & it all turns out good.

      Have a nice night all!

MAE to Mick and Lav, PQ and TG, Pie & Sam, and anyone else here:

Mick, it looks like a nice set-up, and a little chance to relax and get away.

It was just a 24-hr. stomach bug. One way to drop a couple pounds off. The trouble is, Huxley has it! And, as a baby, he’s pretty sick with it. And he can’t go to his cousin Mabel’s birthday party today.

I had to rent a whole condo for my niece-in-law’s wedding because my former sis-in-law decided she didn’t want me on the pullout couch in her rental next door. Now she contacts me last night and says I can cancel my rental and stay with her after all, because her husband can’t come to her daughter’s wedding because she had to ship him off to a long-term (couple months) alcohol rehabilitation center!
Too late for me, as I’ve already invited my friend to come along with me to stay in my condo rental!
Sounds like she has a real mess on her hands with her second husband. He has seizures, he has confusion and like an alcoholic dementia setting in; he’s pretty immobile due to running too many marathons and now has shot knees that he refuses to get surgery on etc.
Now she’s trying to make up a story to account for his absence at the wedding.
We are doing the right thing by getting off of alcohol NOW!

We had one hot day like that too, Lav. Now back to cooler.

I hope all is well with PQ, TG, and Pie this weekend. Stay strong, Pie: it is worth it!

            Re: 7th May

            Evening greetings friends,

Dark & damp here but better than that too hot day yesterday, haha!!
Grateful for my AF time & overall good health like all of you. Besides AL & smoking there’s something else I swore off years ago - allowing myself to be manipulated by ANYONE who doesn’t have my best interest at heart. Last night I received a text message from my narcissistic somewhat psycho daughter-in-law. My son is traveling up to Massachusetts for his graduation on Monday. He completed an online Masters program in Public Administration. Of course we are very proud of his accomplishment BUT according to this girl he will be extremely disappointed if we don’t go. Excuse me, we never received any sort of invitation or notice about the graduation & now she expects a couple of 70 yr olds to hop in the car & drive 6 hours each way. NO THANKS! She offered one of her employees to house & animal sit while we’re gone. I’ve never met this person & I understand she’s homeless right now as her roommate threw her out a few weeks ago. Again, NO THANKS! This girl has been living in their house, not my problem & I’m not taking her off their hands. Do I look that stupid????? Lol. I’d bet a million dollars our son wouldn’t be upset one bit by our staying behind. I can honestly smell a manipulation coming from a mile away & I’m not allowing it anymore. Other than that it’s been a fine day.

Mick, glad to see you made your destination, looks nice have fun & relax!

Slo, glad you’re on the mend bust sorry Huxley is still sick & missed the party.
Your former sister-in-law sounds like she’s having some difficulties of her own, that’s a shame. Alcoholic dementia is nasty, let’s keep our quits going forever.

Hello to PQ, Cyn, Pie, Sam & anyone else checking in tonight.
Hope everyone has a nice night!

              Re: 7th May

              Mae all,
So sorry to be away? I have been dealing with a very painful low back since Wednesday, and it?s worn me out. I did keep a promise today to drive an hour away to watch my grand-niece in her horse trials (she was superb), but the sitting in the sun for hours on bleachers really took the starch out of me. Made it home and took a long nap!
SLO, sorry for the continued family drama? and sorry you were sick! Here?s hoping you feel better and all plans workout.
PPQ - loved the bbq story? glad that it made it to the end of the cooking! Thx for the reminder that I need a canister of propane to fire up my mini-grill.
Mick, your conversation skills seem to have worked! Congrats on getting the new parts you needed. Loved the description of all the creatures you see across the road? of course the nurses are impressed with Julie! Hope your quick holiday is good.
Pi - glad you like the AG podcasts? whatever it takes, right? I just watched a great discussion of the neuroscience of addiction? so helpful to know these facts about our brains.
Sam! Great to see you - thx for popping in - so glad to hear you are doing music - lucky audiences!
Lav, crazy DIL raises her head once again,eh? I?m sure your son would have mentioned it to you if he wanted you to be there? stay home and your new kitchen!

I?m off to slumberland? hoping my back doesn?t wake me up! Maybe tomorrow it will be better?
              Cheers all -
              TG
