MAE ALL…got to work around 7am, got all the signage and balloons set out, vendors arrived around 8am to set up and at 9am we had people waiting to come and shop. YAY! A little nervous when the weekend staff didn’t show up at 8 but she arrived just before 9 with apologies, bus delays. She had texted the boss and he replied don’t worry PQ is on site. Was going to go back to help with the memorial but have decided nope, the boss is on site. LOL
Slo…you made me laugh when you said you were spending your Friday night watering the lawn. Banff, a town west of us, has ordered a no watering ban and there’s talk we may be next. When you posted that you water your own lawn at your condominium, I walked out the next morning, looked at all the grass around us, and thought, I’ve never seen the grass being watered. Decided I need to investigate that, have a neighbour who knows everyone and everything. LOL
TG…glad to see your post. Thanks for the congrats it does feel like a lot has been going on lately. I am taking the rest of the weekend off, not taking any work calls. Hope you are getting some YOU time.
Wags…I plan to spend the rest of the weekend relaxing as well. I haven’t biked in years but working in the community garden will be enough physical activity for me. Is your Dad close to you? We were able to get my Dad into a Veterans care facility with escalating support as needed. It was just down the hill from where I live and work. Spent every Saturday morning there for 2 years before he passed.
Pi…we barely have anything coming up in our community garden. Good haul! I’m so impressed with your menu; I wish I had more smarts when it came to cooking. I’m one of those who measures the water when making Kraft Dinner! Seems like the garage sale was off to a good start. The real work will be the community cleanup next weekend. I’m slowly losing volunteers so have to get creative recruiting some more now.
Mick…is it great when the weatherman’s prediction is wrong in your favour! Gotta love those car parks, glad you were able to polish out most of the marks and that it hadn’t dented the bodywork. When I bought my very first new vehicle, after my divorce, I treated it with kid gloves. Then dealing with my ex-MIL in the hospital ended up getting the drivers side door scraped. It was a freeing moment, parked anywhere I wanted in car parks after that. LOL Good job on redirecting the horses before it got worse. You managed to stave off a lot of work. We’ve been clear of smoke for awhile but there was a bit in the air this morning. One of the northern fires has flared up again with mandatory evacuation. It’s nothing compared to what’s happening in the east.
Time to go refill the propane tank as I plan on BBQ’ing tonight. Have a great Saturday all…:smile:PPQP
