MAE ALL...successful cleanup yesterday but a long day. There was a woman there, who I thought was with a group of volunteers we were expecting, but apparently she just showed up on her own. Ran around like she owned the place, brought a friend with a truck/trailer to collect metal, which we weren't accepting. The boss told her to leave twice, she didn't even flinch. Was talking to the city foreman, in charge of the city packer trucks, and he was saying she shows up at all the community cleanups and becomes a real nuisance. She's been escorted off premises by the police 3 times!! New rule for next year, all volunteers must be registered with me. LOL

Slo...you nailed it! I was toast when I got home. Could hardly walk let alone do anything else. Hope you have a great time with the long-lost relatives today.

Mick...we had great weather yesterday, a storm like you described is heading our way today. How lucky was that. Sorry to hear about your tooth, glad you can put off fixing it till after the trip. Glad you're safely at the site, nice view. Hope the weather improves for you.

Pi...thanks for popping in. The last post I remember from you was you were off to do a rescue. Hope it went well. You didn't bring them back to your place did you?

Lav...exciting to come up with a new embroidered pillow for the sale. Must give you a little bit of a boost.

Sorry for not addressing everyone on the thread, still recuperating. LOL Have a great day all....:smile:PPQP

          Sunday evening greetings friends,

It was a bit warmer here today, humidity starting to creep in, naturally. Glad I got my hair cut last week, haha!
Well, the feral cat who lives on my deck finally brought her 3 babies out of hiding. She literally dropped one at my feet, LOL. I guess they are nearing 4 weeks old now, very cute. I set them up in the outdoor cat condo on the deck so they?re safe for now. I?m going to find homes for them if I can, if not I?ll have to contact a shelter at some point. Here?s 2 of the 3
          IMG_6076.jpg

Mick, sorry about the rain, hope it doesn?t ruin your trip. Also sorry about the tooth, ouch!! Were yo eating rocks again? Haha.

PQ, glad the cleanup was a success. Every neighborhood has a weirdo or two & they are annoying. Next time maybe post a security guard at the entrance, they can send her on her way!

Slo, our air quality took another dip this afternoon. It just depends on which way the wind is blowing I think. Don?t stay outside too long or you will feel the effects, honestly. I am working up another idea in my embroidery shop - have to strike while the iron?s hot so to speak! We did not go to cemeteries today, probably should have but there?s still some hard feelings where our dads are concerned.

Hello to Cyn, hope all is well.

Happy Father?s day to Mick & Sam. I almost forgot Lol
Hello to all & wishing everyone a nice night!

MAE everyone - busy weekend here in Wagland. I visited my dad both days - he's doing well and I'm feeling really good about all of my efforts to find this place for him to live and to get him settled. I also made some good progress with setting up my new office & teaching space.

Mick - safe travels to you! Will look forward to hearing updates and seeing more pics when you're able to share.

PQ - glad your day went well yesterday, in spite of the women who showed up unexpectedly. Was she a scrapper looking to gather a lot of metal she could then cash in? I hope you have a much easier week ahead of you.

Lav - how exciting that you came up with a new pillow, and you've got another in the works! It must be fun to have the craft skills that you do.

Waves to Pi, Slo, Steady and everyone!

              MAE All,

Did some catch up reading on recent posts and made a discovery. More on that in a bit.

Lav, yes the brutal heat has found us here in south Texas. Tornado activity happens mostly in north Texas, think Dallas, and Oklahoma. Those two kittens in your photo are precious! Enjoy your berries. I?d be tempted to make shortcake.

PQ - Visualizing you cleanup crasher made me giggle. Apologies, probably wasn?t funny at the time. Last Wednesday transport mission was to drive a surrendered pup to foster home. Only 80 miles away, but return trip took two hours in 5 o?clock traffic.

Mick, I?m stealing the Amazon chicken and egg joke. Way too funny!!

Ways, high fives to you for efforts in getting your dad settled in new place.

I?ve joined a class at This Naked Mind geared to folks who are AF, and wondering, what?s next. Now that I?m free of alcohol obstacles, what can I accomplish?

The other thing I wish to share with you is how to have Siri read posts aloud. Will do in separate post.

Hiya wags, how are you doing today then?hope all is good. Yes good on you for getting your dad settled. Julie's dad seems to be coming out of his shell, he was sitting playing dominoes in the big room yesterday.

Hiya lav how are you doing today then?the picture of the kittens is ace don't think you will have any trouble finding them homes.phoned dentist..got an appointment when I get back. Amy sent me a lovely card for father's day .it hit home a bit. So nice. Have a good one

Hiya ppqp..congrats on the clean up. Glad it was a success despite the efforts of scrappy sue.has the boss said anything to you about it all?

Hiya teegee, slo steadfast Sam and everyone else..sorry for the short post ..take it easy.

                  howdy all
in the midst of serious drought, as are many folks, hoping for some relief today.
Been on rat infestation tear this spring and early summer.... so far trapped about 30 of them, I first noticed the deluge about a month ago when I went in to close up the chickens and they were scattering in the hen house, one fell on my shoulder from the rafters in its panic to escape the flashlight. Seems the old snap trap works the best on getting these things.
                  fun times!

                    Greetings everyone,

Sam, if a rat fell on my shoulders I’d have a deadly heart attack right then & there
Knocking on wood - we’ve had no rat problems. In & around the chicken house. We did have a fair share of field mice but having a cats running around the property now has taken car of them. I am grateful for their service haha. Good luck with the traps!! We are due for rain starting Wednesday thru to next Wednesday, yikes!!

Mick, very picturesque little town, nice
Glad you have a plan to get your tooth fixed. My kids don’t send cards anymore but they did text their dad haha!

Pie, your class sounds interesting, enjoy! Is it in person or online?
I-firmly believe we can do anything we want once we get the AL monkey off our backs! Starting life all over free of addiction is priceless. Stay cool!!

Wags, sounds like the universe has smiled on you. I’m glad your Dad is happy & settling in his new place. Glad you have more space to do your thing too!

Hello & Cyn & PQ, to Slo anyone else stopping in tonight!
                    Have a nice night all.

                      Re: 18th June .

MAE ALL...news headline this morning SNOWFALL WARNING! Thankfully it's not for Calgary, more norther AB/BC. It was a cold, bitter day today, only 13C/55F, tomorrow the is going to be 8C/46F. I'm wearing my winter jacket tomorrow. haha

Lav...you called it, another litter. That's funny she dropped one at your feet. They're supper cute and like Mick says will have no problem getting adopted. The way I look at it is it's all stuff that's not going to the landfill. She will not be coming back, she's on my radar now. There are some metal businesses that will come to the community cleanups, sell the metal they collect and then donate a portion back the the community association. I will be getting in touch with one of them for next year.

Wags...all in all she was a good person, just annoying. She did do her fair share of the heavy lifting and unloading vehicles, it's just the way she went about it. Her friend the metal dude was definitely in it for himself. You should be feeling good about all the work you did getting your Dad settled in a good place. Good job with setting up your new office. What kind of teaching will you be doing?

Pi...no apologies, from the outside looking in it was funny. That's what I figured you were doing with the rescues. Sorry about the 5 o'clock driving. YUCK! Interesting about the Naked Mind class. Is it based on Annie Grace podcasts? I will never enable SIRI or any of the other verbal programs. Just goes against my grain.

Sam...was wondering how you were doing. A lot of the southern farmers/ranchers here are also going through a terrible drought. Rats, YUCK! I'm so glad we still call ourselves a rat free province. Not that rats don't get in while hitching a ride but they're quickly eradicated. Good luck.

Mick...glad that it at least stopped raining for you. What a lovely town, I'd love to see it in person. Glad you got a dentist appointment lined up. You have to quit eating those rocks. Boss hasn't said anything about the cleanup. I'll be giving a debriefing at our next team meeting because I think he was out of line at times and I'll say so. It was a weird day at work. The weather felt like the beginning of winter, quiet in the centre as programs are winding down and no drama to be found. Probably had something to do with the accountant being off. LOL

Waves to everyone else. Hope your traveling is going good. Made a Sunday dinner for tonight, pot roast with carrots and mashed potatoes. Just kinda felt like that kind of day. Off to eat, take care...:smile:PPQP

                        Mae all -

Glad to read all the posts...
Pie. so glad all your travels were safe. I read the Annie Grace books years ago - I highly recommend them... she's great on the science of addiction and shares her personal story honestly. I'm not into podcasts, but hopefully they are valuable too...

PPQ - congrats on your success with the event!!! Sounds like it was an exhausting day... I hope you are getting some rest? You deserve a break!

Lav - Yep, I do the meditations... short ones, long ones, guided, non-guided, listen to rain, waves, etc. My monkey mind still wants to be heard! Oh well, I am making progress... really working on "one thing at a time" is helping. I am researching low-histamine foods; I think anything I can do to remove inflammation will be a help. Waiting to receive those B12s... I'm sure that will help everything. thx!

Mick - oh my, thanks for the Welsh greeting. Sounds wonderful where you are - sorry about the tooth... hope you can still have plenty of fun.

Sam - what a treat to see your post. But the rat story did give me a shiver... hope you can get those under control, sorry you have to cope with that. I hope you are getting some music in too -

Hello to all others stopping by -
                        Cheers,

                          Re: 18th June .

I?m home from my long 12-hour day with Huxley now, and head up to help with his three cousins bright & early tomorrow morning. I had a nice day with Huxley: we got outside a lot, he ate well, and he loved the strawberries I brought him; and he took a long nap.
So thankful to be firmly AF and able to be leaned upon and trusted with grandchildren! My twin sister, meanwhile, is still faffing about with booze, and missing time she could be having with these kids.

Strange that Boss didn?t say anything about the big community cleanup, PQ.
                          Pot roast?! That sounds delish!

Lav, I can certainly see not really caring about visiting your fathers? graves, considering the difficult fathers you both had.
Gray kittens with blue eyes?! Gorgeous!

30 rats, Sam??? Yucky! Mice are creepy enough.

TG, my understanding is that B12 should be taken with folate/B6, FYI.

Annie Grace?s Path program sounds like an excellent choice, Pie.

Wags, I love how your dad and Mick?s FIL are both settled now into their new homes in the care facilities at just the right time in their lives.

Lots more to say, but I?m too tired to continue.

Pie - I'm very curious to hear about your Naked Mind class! I just borrowed that book from the library but haven't started it yet. What's the class??? And yum - shortcake sounds good!

Mick - glad to hear that Julie's dad is getting a bit more settled in too. Let's hope all the good vibes keep on vibing for both of them! When you said the bikes were loaded for your trip a couple of days ago, is that bicycles or motorbikes? I'm an avid rider of bicycles - for fun, exercise, transportation, travel (bikepacking), etc.

Sam - sorry to hear about the rat problem. We had something similar a few years ago thanks to neighbors stupidly putting food out for critters, and after trying 4-5 different methods I found the snap traps to be most effective. Nothing fun about it though. Hope your area gets some drought relief soon!

Lav - I'll take some universe smiles! After the previous few months of everything being hard hard hard this is a relief.

Hellos and waves to Slo, PQ and everyone else stopping by to read or post. Catch you all tomorrow!

Good morning all and how are we this morning? Hope everyone is doing well poured down with rain during the night but it is a nice morning. Just getting ready for breakfast , and then going for a walk around the lake this is our last day here and then we move on to lake Bala.

Hiya wags how are you today then? hope everything is well. Glad your dad is doing okay fingers crossed they both enjoy the quality of life in their respective places. Yes we have both got folding bikes in the back of the Motorhome, it is a massive garage and can take them easily. At one stage we were going to get electric bikes, and may still do in the future however we just use these for getting out and about. Hope you have a lovely day.
Hiya ppqp how are you today then? Well done on the event over the weekend. Good idea reference the scrap metal , at least you will get some return from it. It is interesting that your boss hasn't mentioned anything about the weekend, hopefully it will come up in your next bilat and you can let him have both six guns don't forget to compare what you are actually doing to the job specification that you are supposed to do! Reading on here it seems to me that there is a mishmash of both his and your jobs with a lack of financial remuneration thrown in! Yes hopefully get things sorted out at the dentist when I get back, because on the 10th of July we are going to the Great Yorkshire Show for stop it is a fantastic show , very hard to get tickets for full stop it was actually cheaper for us to join the Yorkshire agricultural society and get tickets through them than it would have been directly! So now we are pseudo farmers! have a great day

Hiya slo how are you today then? hope everything as well after you're tiring weekend . take the time to recover. Yes I am glad Julies dad is settling in, he was playing dominoes the other day. I think this care facility is turning him into more of a socialite perhaps I should go haha take care have a great day

Hiya lav how are you doing today then ? hope everything is good with you. Those cats look absolutely gorgeous. I showed Amy that picture and she thought they were super. I put some grass seed down before I left home , and looked on the CCTV on my phone yesterday to see that the pigeons were having a real Feast on it so me thinks that idea has failed miserably the idea being to get the grass growing before the rabbits came back. You take care have a great day

Hiya Sam the man how are you doing mate? Sorry to hear about the rat issue. Strangely enough I was watching a video yesterday on a group called The Suffolk Rat Pack whereby they have a group of terriers and dogs and the take them out ratting on farmer's fields and properties if you can find it on YouTube it is well worth watching .apart from that I hope everything is well with you mate take care

Hiya teegee and how are you doing today then question mark hope everything is well with you. Yes enjoying myself, the broken tooth isn't going to spoil this. I'm very much like you as well my mind starts in One Direction and ends up like a washing machine all over the shop with about a million things going around at once! I really do have to concentrate at times full stop the thing is I can juggle all these balls, however every now and again you do tend to drop one through lack of concentration thankfully it's usually the one with the least consequences! That's a pretty high brow conversation for 8 o'clock in the morning exclamation mark take care and look after yourself

Hiya pie and steadfast hope you are both okay. Right good people time to go, take care look after yourselves stay safe sane and sober
