Re: 9th July .
Hello and good morning everyone how are we today then? Hope all is well I slept brilliantly last night full stop walk up quite late this morning to the sound of helicopters ferrying the great and good from the hotel in the grounds which are absolutely massive over to the Great Yorkshire Show which in fairness is about a half mile walk from where we are! Yesterday was absolutely fantastic we watched sheep shearing, sure jumping the horse trials and the great Lorenzo with his horses he is superb. I sent a couple of people videos that I did, but unfortunately I don't know how to put videos up here or indeed have everyone's messenger address, so if anyone knows how to put videos on here straight from a phone please let me know. It absolutely hammer down at one point but luckily we were in the stand and watching the Horse Show at the time. I will put some pictures up but obviously they do not do what we saw Justice we'll stop we are back there today having a look at a different section I would say it would take at least three days to see most of it.
Hiya wags how are you today?hope the headache has gone.
Hiya lav..how are you doing today then? Hope all is well over your part of the world who stop if we are going to program, then you should have had storms either last night or today! The Great Yorkshire Show was on Julie's bucket list that's why we did it, but it is certainly one of the best we have ever been to. Hope your day goes well and yes I have just seen nine rabbits this morning all eating together at the side of the van including mummy rabbit!
Hiya ppqp how are you doing today? How are things at work? Are we back on an even Keel? In respect of the boss doing his share of the work. Did you manage to get rid of the question marks??????????????????????????????????????? I think your boss has a cheek to be honest with you. I would definitely put myself down as exceeds from what you have said that there are plenty of examples to back and substantiate that I wonder what his evaluation of himself is? That would be a real battle royal I can assure you I would go in there with so many examples. I could write it just on what you have said on here never mind the full package by the way what is a four level swimming pool? Hope you have a great day
Hiya pie how are you doing? Hope all is going well with you. Your trip sounds interesting, hope you enjoy it. How is the fostered dog doing? Hope all is well there. I had to put in dog because I have to work around different words for instance when I say poppy dictating to this phone that's what it gives me as opposed to young dog, I have to do that a lot full stop the phone definitely was not made to comprehend Scottish dialect! Take care have a great day
Good morning ns how are you doing? as well with you. A lot of people have quit drinking. Good for you making memories..that's what it's all about
Hiya kensho Sam steadfast and everyone else

Re: 9th July .
Don't worry about those ?s, PQ. We can figure out what you're saying. I think they mostly appear where there should be an apostrophe, I think.
Also they seem to be most frequent when posting from a phone. Anyway, you don't have to take the time to edit!! Just posting is enough

Re: 9th July .
It’s like a ghost town here in MWO. But at least we’re still here!
Yes, Monday was Huxley day, and Tuesday was the day with D1’s three little ones. Such a lucky grandma am I! Lots of baby cuddles.
I have noticed that if I edit my post, then there are more apostrophes morphing into question marks here.
PQ, Boss used YOU as an example of what EXCEEDS job description actually means! He notices!
I should listen to more Moth Story Hours. D3 turned them on -maybe in podcast format? -once when we were traveling together, and they were very poignant and entertaining.
Pie, I hope your venture out to the Story Slam ends up being a worthwhile adventure.
Mick, thank you for sharing about The Great Lorenzo at The Great Yorkshire Show. How good that Julie’s dad is now being looked after properly so that you two can travel again.
I have been discombobulated the last couple of days because I saw the name & address of ex-HB’s girlfriend, so dove headlong into stalking her on social media. Of all things, she’s from my hometown! Of all the places around here! I went to school with her cousins, worked with her aunt…She’s from my hometown, worked in the same profession as me, has the same color hair as me…like WTF. Haven’t been able to sleep well lately.
NS, how great that you & your cousin have reconnected!! Isn’t it interesting how we end up circling back to the beginning, the roots, of our lives?
I got all my laundry done today. My car has been in the shop all day for A/C repair. Hopefully they will call soon so I can go pick it up.
Hi to all!Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Re: 9th July .
Greetings friends,
Still hot & steamy here in SE PA, typical summer I guess. Hair frizzing is an issue lately haha!
PQ, you sound like the teacher’s favorite pupil at work, Lol. Let him use you as an example but makes sure he pays up $$$
I hope the vendors don’t get into fights trying to get the last few spots. It’s more of a cutthroat business than I ever knew, they can be feisty!
Wags, sorry about the headache, I feel for you
Hope today was much better.
Mick, WOW! All I can say is the Great Lorenzo must have some really great knees to be able to ride like that. That video was very cool to watch. Glad you got to see the show! Say Hi to. The rabbits for me
NS, I agree, no need to make edits, we all understand the language, regardless.
Slo, glad you’re getting good grandkid time, it’s the best!
About the gf, don’t drive yourself nuts, please. Obviously he’s missing you & trying to find a ‘similar’ replacement. I say screw that
People will notice sooner or later & begin to wonder about his motives. Keep yuorself strong & movimg forward, you’re doing great!!!
Hello to Cyn who has been on FB a lot lately, great to see you there as well.
I started a hypnotherapy program online today called Nerva. I think I’ve always known my IBS symptoms were related to the gut brain axis & the medical world doesn’t get that. All they do is throw meds & xrays at you that don’t do a thing. So in an attempt to self-heal I started this program with daily readings & 15 minute hypnotherapy sessions. Keeping my fingers crossed, I think this is the best bet. Diet & medication approaches have not been effective. We shall see, hoping for results within a 6 week period.
Hello to Pie, Sam, Kensho & everyone stopping in tonight!
Have a nice night all,

Re: 9th July .
Y?all, the Moth Story Slam was more fun than I deserve! The venue was a former warehouse downtown, converted to concert space with seating for about 300. It didn?t sell out, but was maybe 80% capacity. Casual, friendly crowd. Ages probably 30s to 70s. Anyone wanting to tell a story signs up, and names are pulled at random. Ten slots available, five minutes each. Three pairs of judges hold up numeric score cards after each story, based upon some simple criteria. The winner of each month?s Slam competes against the year?s winners at a Grand Slam event.
I chose a seat up close and got chatting with a gal who was also attending solo. Spotting open seats in the front row, we moved up there. My companion was asking questions of one of the event organizers, and after a few minutes, he asked us to be judges! A quick lesson followed regarding story criteria, and he reminded us of the night?s theme which was Sweat. 😁
Stories were mostly humorous, personal experiences involving a stressful situation, and in some cases, literal sweat. Took us a couple of stories to kind of calibrate with the other scoring teams, and I don?t think we awarded anything lower than an 8.0. The winner ended up being a lady in her 50s who relayed the story of her first date with her husband.
Such a great night! All in good fun. SO glad I went!!

Re: 9th July .
PQ - sounds like your pic is in the dictionary next to the word EXCEEDS!!! That must feel good. Hopefully it will turn into more appreciation and an actual pay raise!
Pi - the Moth Story Slam sounds like a successful adventure for you. I'll have to poke around and find some info online as I'm not familiar with this at all even though I've been an NPR fan off and on for decades.
Mick - thanks for sharing all the great things you're seeing and doing as you travel about. Because I so viscerally understand the "not able to travel" part of caring for an elder, hearing your stories makes me even more excited for our upcoming travels in August.
Lav - I hope you have tremendous success with your readings and hypnotherapy approach to getting well (or at least better). I think there's a LOT of credible evidence to back the mind-body approach to medicine. You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Slo - def walk away from stalking or even thinking about the ex's gf. There's nothing positive to get from that - just feeling bad, and you don't deserve a minute of that. I know you already know this - just reinforcing and supporting your healthier focus on family time, your new friends/neighbors, and yourSELF.
Headache gone! I haven't had one in a long time and I'm glad this one was short-lived. Today was a busy but good day, and tomorrow looks to be the same. This weekend is the belated Pride celebration in my city, and my wife and I will be joining a friend to march with her carpenter's union group in the Sunday parade (there are at least two - one Sat and one Sun). It's hard not to be worried and a bit scared with the way this country is turning so hard toward the political right, but we will seize the streets as usual and have our celebration. It's always fun, even if just for a few hours, to be the MAJORITY and to feel the energy of a crowd directed in such a positive direction (Love Wins!).
Hellos and waves to those I missed. Catch you tomorrow!

Mae all how are we today then?hope all is well. This is our last day here, off tomorrow..really enjoyed it and Julie not once has mentioned her dad .we have seen all sorts wood carving, sheep shearing, dog trials, horses, cattle goats pigs, cheese tasting wine tasting forestry the lot yesterday we watched the dray wagons with the big Clydesdales and Shires..always reminds .o Busch gardens first time I went.
Nice and sunny this morning, a change from the previous couple of days. Here are some of the wagons from yesterday
After a British Airways flight had reached its cruising altitude, the captain announced:
"Ladies and Gentleman, this is your Captain welcome to flight 293 non-stop from London Heathrow to Toronto the weather ahead is good, so we should have a smooth uneventful flight, so sit back, relax and... OH, MY GOD!.....
A scream then silence followed,
Some moments later the captain came back on the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm sorry if I scared you, while I was talking to you, a flight attendant accidentally spilled a cup of hot coffee in my lap. You should see the front of my pants!".
One passenger yelled... "For Christ's sake.....you should see the back of mine!!!"
Jack goes to his friend Mike and says, "I'm sleeping with the priest's wife. Can you hold him in church for an hour after mass for me?" The friend doesn't like it but being a friend, he agrees. After mass, he starts talking to the priest, asking him all sorts of stupid questions, just to keep him occupied. Finally the priest gets annoyed and asks Mike what he's really up to. Mike, feeling guilty, finally confesses to the priest, "My friend is sleeping with your wife right now, so he asked me to keep you occupied." The priest smiles, puts a brotherly hand on Mike's shoulder and says, "You'd better hurry home now. My wife died a year ago."

Re: 9th July .
After a long night of making love, Danny rolled over, pulled out a cigarette from his jeans and searched for his lighter.
Unable to find it, he asked Sheila if she had one at hand.
"There might be some matches in the top drawer," she replied.
He opened the drawer of the bedside table and found a box of matches sitting neatly on top of a framed picture of another man.
Naturally, the guy began to worry. "Is this your husband?" he inquired nervously.
"No, silly," she replied, snuggling up to him.
"Your boyfriend then?" he asked. "No, not at all," she said, nibbling away at his ear.
"Well, who is he then?" demanded the bewildered guy.
Calmly, Sheila replied, "That's me before the operation."
A farmer drove to a neighbor's farmhouse and knocked at the door.
A boy, about 9, opened the door. "Is your dad or mom home?" said the farmer.
"No, they went to town."
"How about your brother, Howard? Is he here?"
"No, he went with Mom and Dad."
The farmer stood there for a few minutes, shifting from one foot to the other, and mumbling to himself.
"I know where all the tools are, if you want to borrow one, or I can give Dad a message."
"Well," said the farmer uncomfortably, "I really wanted to talk to your Dad. It's about your brother Howard getting my daughter Suzy pregnant!!"
The boy thought for a moment... "You would have to talk to Dad about that. I know he charges $500 for the bull and $50 for the pig, but I don't know how much he charges for Howard."
A man was driving and saw a truck stalled on the side of the highway that had ten penguins standing next to it. The man pulled over and asked the truck driver if he needed any help. The truck driver replied, "If you can take these penguins to the zoo while I wait for AA that will be great!" The man agreed and the penguins hopped into the back of his car. Two hours later, the trucker was back on the road again and decided to check on the penguins. He showed up at the zoo and they weren't there! He headed back into his truck and started driving around the town, looking for any sign of the penguins, the man, or his car. While driving past a movie theater, the truck driver spotted the guy walking out with the ten penguins. The truck driver yelled, "What are you doing? You were supposed to take them to the zoo!" The man replied, "I did and then I had some extra money so I took them to go see a movie."

Re: 9th July .
Thanks for the jokes, Mick. I especially like the one about the pilot and passenger
Wow, Pie, getting to be a judge is fantastic! I hope I manage to hear the one about 'Sweat". It will be cool to think about you being involved.
Hope the Pride event is a positive experience, Wags, with no hateful disruptions. I've had similar safety concerns at some of the anti-gun rallies I've attended. Fortunately nothing has occurred but it is sad we even have to think about potential violence.
Lav, it is weird that we ever thought about the mind and body separately, isn't it? It is ALL connected! There is more serotonin in the gut than in the CNS! I hope the program you've begun is helpful. I'm always willing to try anything that is unlikely to cause further harm (as so many drugs will do). I'm with you on the frizzy hair - my hair appt has been delayed twice so the situation is DIRE. Hopefully today is the day!
Slo, I can see why you went down that rabbit hole but like others here, I hope you can let it go. People show only their best selves and lives on social media. It will seem like she's totally happy with a perfect life. In truth, your ex probably dumps the same passive/aggressive and demeaning BS on her that he did on you. You've got so much good stuff in your life- I hope you can focus on that.
I've been offered some contract work similar to what I used to do for a living. It is amazing to me how ambivalent I feel about it. It might lead me to explore using AI in writing, though, which would be interesting. We'll see.Last edited by NoSugar; July 13, 2023, 09:38 AM.

Re: 9th July .
Greetings friends,
Sunny, hot & humid - repeat repeat haha!!
Drove almost an hour today to drop off 3 bikes at a repair shop. I don?t own a bike but my husband, son & grandson do & they all need repair. Apparently there are no repair businesses around here so we ended up right near our daughter?s house & had a quick visit with her & granddaughter which was nice.
Pie, what a great time you had, good for you!
I am familiar with some NPR but not the story slams, sounds great. Glad you enjoyed yourself!
Wags, headache gone, yay!!
I am definitely a big believer in hypnotherapy. The MWO CDs really helped me out big time when I first quit. It?s a shame they?re no longer available for others. I have had an entire lifetime of stress related GI issues, starting as a little kid. Swapping. Out certain foods helps for a while but it always comes back & I?m tired of the routine. Hoping this is the final ticket for me. I love the 15 minute sessions, very relaxing!
Enjoy the Pride celebration this weekend. Someday, hopefully soon everyone will understand & be more receptive to ALL of our differences
Mick, glad you started the day with sun
Sorry your pics won?t open but i have an idea that you two have had a great time! Love the blonds joke LOL
NS, after spending a huge portion of my life working in healthcare I just don?t want to be a patient or have anything to with doctors & medications if possible. I really believe we can soothe ourselves more naturally. I?m giving this program a good shot & keeping my fingers crossed.
Be wary of job offers after you retire, haha. I had a few people try to get me to take jobs, didn?t want any of them. I focused on my little embroidery business & that was enough for me. It?s much nicer being your own boss.
PQ, hope your day was fab!
Hello to Cyn, Sam, Slo, Kensho & everyone checking in tonight!
Have a nice night all!

MAE ALL...just checking in to stay accountable. We were blanketed in smoke today, haven't seen it this bad for awhile. Ended up watching Columbo movie most of the day. Anything to stay off the computer so I didn't check in with work.
Sorry for not posting to everyone individually, we resume normal posting tomorrow. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP
