MAE ALL...I think the accountant has lost her mind again. She's been on a tear and really p*ssed me off today. We had set up a procedure for event rentals and she has now decided to do things her way. Wonder how long it will take her to realize I'm not including her in anymore correspondence with the renters. Childcare director has been getting it worse. She actually went to the boss and asked him what was up with the accountant. He said she's been pretty miserable for awhile now. At least he sees it. Other than that a busy day because of course everyone's long term rental agreements are due on Thursday and they all want to make changes! LOL

TG...sounds like you're loving your new job. Way to go.

Mick...I saw the same news item about the totem pole. The history behind the totem pole is quite interesting. Yes, the Scotland museum has started a movement. More and more museums are returning items that should never have had. I think it's a nice thing to do. And the repacking begins. Looking forward to my trip vicariously through you. Haha

Sam...good to see you popping in.

Slo...I tried Pilates once, and once was enough. I hope it helps with your knees. Have fun with D1 and the three kidos tomorrow.

Lav...I've been watching the Florida news as well. Apparently it's supposed to hit land tomorrow. It does appear that the residents aren't too worried about it. I hope the abscess heals quickly and your face returns to normal. Are you doing any school runs with the g/kids? Our schools open on Thursday. I haven't said anything about the craft fair cancellations, just quietly refilling their spots. Come October I'll have an onslaught of vendor requests.

Time to shut the laptop down, my eyes are burning. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Quick hello and sending good wishes? didn?t work at the store, but long day nevertheless? started at 7:46 by seeing a cardiologist (such a kind man!) and he recommends the stres test, so no that?s scheduled. Also heard from the long COVID place, so will have an intake with them on Thursday. Eventually I?ll at least get more info that might be useful? who knows?

Doing the homeless meals tomorrow, then some meetings? take care -hope all difficulties smooth out - Sam, nice to see you!

      Cheers,

Hiya all how are we doing today then?hope all is good bit of a crazy night last night...Julie went into the freezer, and told me that it wasn't working. Sure enough it wasn't..can you guess what the problem was children?yes you are right..Bonnie had got into the gap behind it,which is no more than 3 inches..she then chewed through the wires which were plugged in the mains..4 bags of chicken defrosted cant be eaten, 3 of fish we cooked all the chicken off last night 96 mini fillets.I am sick of chicken. Had my bloods done this morning, and now putting the final items on the van for tomorrow.

Hope the pain has eased a bit for you .Lav.

Best of luck with the long covid and the stress test teegee

Lav - so sorry to hear about your tooth and I hope the tylenol is at least taking the edge off the pain. Does clove oil help with that type of pain? I know it does wonders for other "toothache" related woes.

TG - wonderful to hear that you're enjoying your work so much - sounds like a great fit!

Mick - ugh, losing a freezer full of food (or cooking and trying to eat it so it won't go to waste) is a massive bummer. You may never want to eat chicken again!

Slo - hooray for Pilates and a bike ride!

PQ - sorry your accountant co-worker is being difficult again. It's like you can't have a full week of peace and quiet. At least your day was busy after you found it difficult to get up and go.

Ok, I just have to share this fantastic news... Today is score release day for all of my students who took that disastrous test earlier in August. I'm hearing reports from them as we speak, and the first one who wrote shared the AMAZING news that she earned a PERFECT SCORE!!! This is like a glitter unicorn - really almost impossible to achieve. She's my first student to earn this perfect score and I'm probably almost as happy (elated) as she is.

This is what happens when you don't drink: You pull your sh1t together and not only make your own life better you also help change other lives in a positive way.

Don't drink - it's absolutely not worth it!

            Good evening friends,

Woke up to a brief but hard rain this morning but it?s been sunny ever since, go figure.
Still dealing with my chipmunk face, today is the 3rd full day on the antibiotic. I will be calling the dentist back tomorrow if there?s no improvement. I really think I need a stronger antibiotic. Doc Lav usually knows best haha!!

PQ, I?m sorry you?re still dealing with your psycho accountant. Maybe it?s time for the boss to send her home - forever. She sounds so consistently disruptive. Who needs that BS? My oldest grandson has started high school this year & I have no idea how he?s getting there or back. I figure he?ll let me know when he needs a ride. We just don?t want to hear from his mother after her rude attacks this summer. My granddaughter hasn?t started school yet but she?s busy babysitting a neighbor girl this week. All of a sudden she?s the kid watcher, geez!

Cyn, I?m glad you?re finally get the medical attention you deserve. Keep in mind the medical community has never seen the effects of a virus like Covid. I think they?re trying to figure out what to do for people. Glad you have folks listening to you now

Oh Mick, sorry about the freezer incident!!! You have a seriously luck rabbit since she didn?t get a massive shock chewing through the wiring.
I hope your trip is fun & relaxing & gets your mind off of chicken LOL

            Wags, this is for you!
            IMG_1835.jpeg
CONGRATS to you & your student on a perfect score - WOW!!!!
The pain I?m dealing with is due to the large size of the abscess (saw the Xray) pushing on nerves nearby. I don?t think clove oil would be helpful in this instance. Hoping for a magical massive improvement tomorrow haha!

Hello to Slo, Pie, Sam & everyone.
            Have a nice night!

MAE ALL...well the accountant apologized to me this morning and explained what she had done. Must have taken her all night to come up with that after flat out lying in the first place. At least it's over and done. She's still driving childcare crazy but they're so busy getting ready for the start of school tomorrow they're ignoring her. LOL Boss is taking tomorrow and Friday off and Monday is a holiday. Should be able to slide into the weekend with no more drama.

TG...sounds like all positive actions are happening for you. Hope your intake goes well and they have some helpful information for you.

Mick...yup, this child guessed the answer. Bonnie is so lucky she didn't shock herself. On the bright side you noticed it before you went on your trip. I've come home to a week of no power, not pretty. Yup, I'll be taking the back seat. Have a great trip.

Wags...that is fantastic news. A perfect score, you should be ELATED!!!

Lav...one magical massive improvement on it's way. Your oldest grandson will probably let you know when he needs your car, not just a ride. LOL The kid watcher...haha, they grow up so fast. Boss shared with me the accountant has been talking retirement lately, I say bring it on!

Shout out to the rest of the group, hoping all is well with everyone. Have a good night...:smile:PPQP

hiya Wags ...well done to you and your students ..as you say ,drinking isnt worth it ..I was listening to the news yesterday ,,Scotlands deaths through alcohol are on a dramatic increase .more so than anywhere else in the uk.Scots tend to like a wee dram every now and again ....

hiya Lav ,how are you doing this morning? are you any better or is the abscess still giving you grief?I think the next move for grandson will be taking driving lessons ...and then borrowing your car!Bonnie has this knack for chewing through live wiring whether its 230v or dc ..it doesnt seem to phase her .the number of chargers and computer leads she has done is unreal..plus the freezer ,the television and hoovers!!I hope your mouth eases off before the weekend .

hiya ppqp ...ding ding ...I note the boss is off ..is this part of the lets share it together ethos he has ...? ha .are youoff Monday too?Yes Im sick of eating chicken ,chicken strips ,southern fried ,tikka strips ..you name they have all been eaten and disposed of .hope you have a good weekend

right folks time to go take care everyone .

                  Re: 27th

As far as “12 Commandments for Seniors” go, I’m represented by #3! (And PQ is #4 -haha!)
This kid did not guess why your fridge stopped working -although I should have, since mice did similar in my old house! If my rabbit did that, Mick; then she wouldn’t be allowed in my house. You have far more patience than I do!

Ouch, Lav. I just don’t envy you that abscess.
My knee pain is slightly better! I’m using Bio Freeze twice a day instead of Voltaren gel, and using just a soft brace that is not reinforced with straps for extra support now.

PQ, that accountant can’t retire soon enough! Glad you can hopefully slide into the weekend with no more drama.

It’s a holiday weekend here in the States! I’m heading Up North with D2 & her HB & Huxley; and their sweet new deluxe fishing boat. It is to the family cabin/lake house in my ex-in-law family that I used to co-own legally, although I was never treated like a co-owner. Ex-HB has decided that I get one weekend per year up there with a daughter or daughters. That wasn’t quite how it went down in divorce negotiations, that I would be limited to only one; but whatever. It’s supposed to be a nice hot weekend, weather-wise! Not like the cold, rainy, crappy weekend that ex-HB & his gf and young daughter & her bf had earlier this month. Ha.

Wags, that is excellent news! Look at what you have accomplished by leaving drinking behind! You can truly serve your students well now, and run a great business.

TG should be back at her new job today…

                    Re: 27th

                    Greetings folks,

Woke up feeling & looking much less like a chipmunk this morning, yay!! So I didn’t have to call the dentist & demand a stronger antibiotic after all.
It only went to 78 degrees today with low humidity, so refreshing. I hear by Monday it will be 96 degrees again & humid, ugh. Another holiday weekend. Is here & we have no plans primarily due to the dysfunctional DIL. I just don’t want her here right now. To top things off YB has reactivated some issue in his back like he had 12 or so years ago. He has pain traveling down one leg into the kneecap area. He’s pretty much crippled right now. He needs to get in touch with the pain specialist again & go for more injections. Fun times for sure (not)!

PQ, make sure you throw the accountant a big freaking retirement/go away party - I’m sure she’ll appreciate it LOL
The grandson will be turning 15 in November so only 1 more year until he can get his learner’s permit to drive. Not sure I can live thru another kid learning to drive haha!

Mick, I hope your trip is going wonderfully & you have perfect weather too.
Housing costs are outrageous here too & the mortgage rates are frightening. I cringe when I think how much debt my kids have taken on just to have a decent house to live in & raise their kids.
Btw - I wholeheartedly agree with the senior commandments!!

Slo, happy to report little to no pain today. I’m glad you found something better to treat your knee pain.
I hope your weekend goes well & it’s not too hot!!!have fun

Hellos going out to Cyn, Pie, Wags, Sam & everyone.
                    Have a nice night all!

Good morning all from Beadnell Bay..what a gorgeous morning. The site is 20 yards from the beach, absolutely brilliant. A lovely sunrise this morning. We had a good trip up her,3hrs 10 minutes..some of the lanes arr a bit narrow but passable...apart from one suv driver who thought he could zoom past in the opposite direction I have mirror protectors fitted..result..I got some colour from his mirror on my protector..
We walked into Seahouses last night..,booked a trip today for this afternoon..a trip around the Farne Islands,Holy Island and Lindisfarne. Another thing on Julie's bucket list.

Hiya lav, glad the pain in the mouth has eased off a bit. Hopefully yb can get some relief for his back.

Hiya slo,how areyou doing?hope the knee is easing off..I get backache at times, and and used to use voltarol ,but I use a cheaper, but a lot better for pain relief.its like a freeze gel.
I am sorry if I don't address everyone individually, but it is difficult on the phone at times.
                      Have a great time all.

Lav, hope your tooth is settling down.

TG, what is your role at Trader Joe?s?

Going to Google Beadnall Bay, Mick. You travel to such interesting places!

I reported to jury duty yesterday, and was released quickly. Plaintiff was a no show, so case dismissed. Happy to have our hottest and driest month in recorded history, in the rear view mirror. Now under water restrictions though, so keeping plants alive is tricky. Been working on a project for my condo association updating owner contact info. I like that it puts me in touch with folks who I don?t normally speak with.

Hi, All. Made it home yesterday after 25 days away. I don't think we've ever been gone quite so long. It was fun and relaxing (when there were no visitors!) but I'm glad to be home. Apparently it did not rain while we were gone and the temps were often in the 90s so the yard needs some work... I'll get to some of that today.

I hope you all are well and enjoying the end of summer.

                            Re: 27th

Welcome home, NS! September is here now, and so, on to Fall.

Pinch, punch, first of the month, Mick!
That is surely a tight road that you are describing.
The price of the house for sale next to you is astronomical compared to what you paid. I must say, it does sound similar to what is happening around here too.

Pie, I am all of a sudden doing something similar in my condo neighborhood. My real estate agent has goaded me into hosting a party for my neighborhood, and I bit and we are doing it! That is so far out of my comfort zone!! But it will only be a two-hour meet & mingle thing in my yard, with everyone bringing an appetitzer. I can do it…right?

Lav, so sad that you can’t just have a little family time this weekend thanks to the DIL. I wish she were working, so you could have the rest of them over. But she doesn’t work weekends. My next door neighbor described similar with one of her HB’s sons…they don’t see those three young grandkids much, because the DIL is mean.

I hope TG’s jaw has settled down, along with Lav’s tooth.

The freezing gel doesn’t control my knee pain better than Voltaren gel, but, since I can feel it, I’m less likely to move it in slightly the wrong way…so perhaps it can heal better?

I wish you all good weekends ahead. Hopefully my new plantings and porch pot can withstand the extreme heat while I’m away. Now to get Boyd off to the “cat hotel”.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

                                Hey everyone,

Feeling much better myself but YB is a disaster. He can barely walk so I’ve ordered a lightweight arm crutch to give him some support on his affected leg. He did manage to get an appt for. Tuesday morning with the pain specialist he saw a decade or more ago. This will likely be a series of injections every two weeks like previously. I Imagine he will need to have a new MRI done first. Glad I don’t drink so I can help manage this situation.

Mick, glad to hear you made it to your campsite, sounds like a great spot! Enjoy yourselves!!!
YB is currently icing a spot on his back but I doubt it will help with the nerve pain in his leg.

Pie, you’re keeping busy & helping. Others at the same time, nice. Even with all the rain we’ve had this year my garden beds are as dry as a bone. Hope yor plants survive.

NS, welcome home after a very long vacation. Don’t think I’ve ever been away from home that long haha.
Looking forward to the autumnal equinox 3 weeks from tomorrow

Slo, as long as you’re not expected to provide alcohol for the neighborhood party you will be fine. I know how some people expect to find drinks everywhere they go Lol. It should be a great way to get to meet neighbors though, have fun.

Cyn, hope your day was good.

PQ, I imagine you’re well & ready for a quiet weekend
