    Re: 24th September

    MAE all,

Got my billing done last night but was up late finishing it. Today was 3 long-ish classes, so the time flew by. Tomorrow will be easier - 2 short tutoring sessions plus tending to our community garden plot and dropping off some donations.

Slo - we got the same rainy weather here today. As you said, at least the gardens are getting watered!

Lav - I hope tomorrow's early morning at the hospital brings your husband some pain relief. I imagine you're both about over it by now.

PQ - sounds like a horrible renter! Or at least an inconsiderate one. No thanks on borrowing your accountant though lol

Mick - like the others, I'm impressed with your industriousness in spite of weather and other things. I'm inspired!

Hellos to Pie, TG, and anyone else who pops in for a bit. Hope everyone's Wednesdays are fab

        Re: 24th September

        Hey friends,

We made it thru the day, ugh. Up at 4 am, out by 5 am & arrived a little early at the hospital (somehow) at 5:45. YB said the pain specialist & the anesthesiologist both claim that the pain he’s having just may be a side effect of the covid vaccines. I think that’s BS because it’s the same pain he had 11 years ago - long before anyone heard of covid or the vaccines. YB hasn’t had any boosters lately so no, I don’t think it’s vaccine related. Anyway I actually had him home & in the house by 8:45 am - not bad. Hoping for some relief this time, for everyone’s sake & sanity Lol

Mick, I’m hearing Sean Connery’s voice in my mind now, hahaha!!
I hope Agnes didn’t do any damage, you don’t need that. We actually had a touch of sunshine this afternoon for the first time in a few days.

Wags, YES, we are both over this, seriously!!!
I hope your day went well & you crossed off everything on your to do list

PQ, Oh no, the renter from hell! Sounds like a group of ignorant teenagers to be honest.
I read today that a combination of continuing warmer than usual weather & El Ni?o means we will have little to no snow again this winter. It’s just weird anymore.

Cyn, back to work already, good for you, hope it was OK.
I love Agatha Christie mysteries too. Haven’t read any for quite a while. Sunday nights are PBS nights here so I can catch the British shows. So what do you prefer? A glittery gown or overalls covered in sanding dust? LOL I imagine we all have some weird stories like that.

Hello to Slo, Pie & everyone stopping by. Have a nice night all!

          Re: 24th September

MAE ALL...it was another busy day and productive. Had my one-on-one with the boss today and we reviewed my time tracker. Have to do it once more for October. He said I know you do more than what you put on your tracker, I know you come in early all the time. I do but it's not approved so I don't record it. He said the objective for my time tracker is to see if there's enough work to warrant another body in the office. So I will faithfully record everything I do regardless of the time. LOL The assistant childcare director is going through tough times and her granddaughter (21/2 years old) went into hospice care this afternoon.

TG...another Agatha Christie fan here. I've enjoyed the books more than any of the movies I've seen but I might have to check out Ten Little Indians. Glad you're back at work but even more glad that you relaxed last night with the ipad. Keep looking out for number 1!

Wags...good for you on completing the billing, bet that felt good. We're turning the irrigation off in the community garden on Oct 4th and they have to have their plots put to bed by the 15th. We have such a short growing season here.

Mick...of course storm Agnus is there, you cleaned the van. LOL If people are shuttering windows it must be a doozy coming in, you be safe. I had to chuckle, of course you're going to change things up with the trains. I'm glad you've been taking videos of all the layouts, it would be interesting to put them all together to see all the transformations you've made.

Lav...good job on getting up early and getting to the hospital early. I totally agree, you can't blame covid vaccines on everything, geeze. I'm impressed that you were home by 8:45am, thought you'd be in for a long day. It was actually a Woman's Networking event. I believe it was the catering company she used as the last time she did the event here it was hectic but nothing like this.

Boss actually asked me if I wanted to book a day off over the Thanksgiving long weekend. Told him no he could go ahead. I'd rather book a day off during the week. I'm seeing my Dr. on Tuesday, she got the Rheumatologist report, and I'm sure she'll be setting up a CT Scan. I also know I'll have to have cataract surgery and have no idea when that will happen. So will keep any extra time off I have and besides, I'd rather take a day off when it's -30 and stay home with a book. LOL

Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

            Mae all,

Doing this on the computer tonight - hopefully I'll see all the posts, and there will be no crazy Question marks flowing in.

Lav, so sorry that I missed your post last night about the schedule with YB - fantastic job getting up at o'dark and out the door. I really really hope that this does some good this time!! Sending healing thoughts to you and to him... I hope you can turn in early and get some rest...

Mick, batten down the hatches! Sounds like you are in for a big storm. After hearing all the parts of you that are hurting, I am amazed at all you do. Well, extra amazed... I was pretty impressed to start with

Wags - one of the great joys of working for Trader Joe's now is that I don't have to do billable hours!! Or figure out the details of my taxes! I feel free as a bird. Especially since I am just now finishing up my 2022 taxes to submit to my accountant... guess I put all that record-keeping aside for long enough. Good luck on all.

PPQ - that job of yours surely keeps you rocking and rolling! Amazing how you take it all in stride... and your health concerns... I hope you get all your appointments set and fured out. Sending support.

SLO - I hope all is well with you! Take care.

Pie - there is a dog in Austin (not your breed) that really needs a home... a senior dog... it's in a shelter there... I see it on FB, from Shelter friends in MN - any ideas of folks in the area that might be interested? I know you already do so much...

Okay - on to figure these taxes out and get to bed at a reasonable time. I shouldn't have watched that mystery so late in the evening... it took me a long time to get to sleep. (That reminds me that it is time for me to put on the "blue-blocking glasses" if I'm going to keep working on taxes on my computer...

            Cheers to all dropping by...

Quick sober check-in for me tonight. Our dog isn't feeling well - not sure what's up with her but I want to focus on her and help her be as comfortable and as comforted as possible.

Hope everyone is doing well and I'll be back tomorrow.

Welcome back one and all..how are we doing?Storm Agnes ...well what can I say it was really under impressive ..years go by it would have warranted a remark like its windy and raining ...wasnt really even hooley stage .Granted some are heavy duty ,but this was a lightweight.
hiya Lav ,how are you doing today then?hope you caught up on the missing sleep and that the pain meds worked ...(I note the "for everyones sake ...")A lot of stuff is being put down to the side effects of the vaccines ,and some of them are definitely legit ,however there are definitely a lot of jumping on the band wagon instances going on ..hope you have a peaceful day.We have got tickets to see Agatha Christie .."The Mousetrap" in April at the Lowry in Manchester ,,,thats how far its booked up to and even then it was a friend who sorted it for us .

                  Jusht shayin ........

hiya ppqp how are you today then?hope all is well ..so another Miss Marple /Poirot /Tommy and Tuppence fan eh?excellent ..so you had a bilat with your boss today? Why dont you keep 2 sheets ...one of actual and one of scheduled hours worked ..Me being a glass half full guy ,would be thinking its not a justification for another person ,but to look at my job loading and am I busy enough ..or could they integrate it with something else?It may be genuine but bosses bearing gifts dont do it for me ..they are bosses for a purpose ...I know!
yes going to start on the trains next week ,greenhouse is ready for overwintering etc .. house will be decorated so its me time ..hope your day goes well..

hiya teegee...how are you doing? sounds like you are enjoying yourself at trader Joes..can you not put the blue block on your computer? The hatches were battened down ...but are up and off now ..Considering that its allegedly going to be sunny tomorrow ,its doing a pretty good impression of dull dark and rain incoming .

hiya wags ...hows the dog today mate?hope he /she is on the mend ..

hiya pie how are you doing ? hope all is good with you

I went to bed last night thinking I was Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits. Woke up this morning feeling fine!

I sexually identify as a microwave meal! I’m ready in 3 minutes and look nothing like my pictures!

So as I knelt down in front of a really hot sexy lady, in a short skirt, and helped ease her well pedicured foot into a size 4 heeled mule, she smiled, winked and slightly parted her long tanned legs, and said, "I bet you only work here so can look up women's skirts as they try on shoes."
"Madam that's rather a suggestive assumption, and totally not true." I smiled back.
"What, that you don't sneak a look up ladies skirts?"
"No, that I actually work here."

                    Re: 24th September

                    Good evening,

I read some Agatha Christie books when I was younger; one was called “Black Coffee”, as I recall. They were good mysteries.

Sorry your dog is having another episode, Wags. That’s worrying.
I’ve been busy cleaning up cat puke and poop. Grrr…
I got Boyd new dishes that are angled, that are supposed to make it easier for elderly cats to eat so that eating doesn’t bother any arthritis, and also are supposed to help to reduce vomiting.

                    PQ, a 2 1/2-yr.-old in Hospice?? That’s awful.
It makes sense to save your days off for better & more necessary uses than for a long Thanksgiving weekend.

Mick, I guess this is the age when we pay the price for the injuries that we incurred in our youth. I really hate being in pain with mobility, and the limitations it imposes, personally. Better get used to it though.
Not every storm needs to be given a name! If that’s the case, no wonder your storms have burned through the whole alphabet and are back to “A”!

TG, a revue of Irving Berlin’s songs actually sounds fun to sing! That’s quite a contrast to be a sanding all day, and then on stage in a glittery dress by evening!

I got my hair done this afternoon. Always enjoyable, and good to see my stylist again now that she’s back after having her baby.
Spent the day up with the grandkids yesterday. They are so cute. Mabel is starting to talk a lot now. Now two kids call me “Grandma”! Well, Gwamma and Gabba, anyways!

Time for my favorite show! (“Young Sheldon”: repeats; not affected by the writer’s strike!)
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

                      Greetings friends,

Slept fairly well last night after the early day yesterday. YB ?seems? to be moving better today & definitely is not moaning as much so I take that as a win
Stopped by a few Amish stores today, they still have fresh zucchini, corn, peppers, yum.

PQ, good idea to save PTO for more important things than turkey day.
So it?s the catering company that needs to be slapped haha! Call them & tell them they owe you $$ & can?t come back until they pay up!
Hope your doc appts go OK.

Cyn, being self employed is nice until it comes to tax time. It?s a royal PIA, we?ve both been thru it. YB has been reporting his earnings for hauling the Amish & their produce & I used to report my embroidery biz earnings. Now that I?m just doing crafty work (mostly) it?s all under the table. I ?mdone with that stuff. Good luck getting it done & enjoy your TJs earnings & a yearly W2 from them

Wags, sorry to hear about your pup. Hope it?s something easily fixed. Take care

Mick, glad the storm was minimal. We?re supposed to get flooding rain again tomorrow, not that we need any right now. The feral cat Penny has moved her 4 kittens into my garage - she?s smart. There was an old bed comforter sitting in the corner so she put them there.
                      IMG_6365.jpg

Slo, I always enjoy a new hairdo, makes you feel human.
Sounds like the grandkids are keeping you busy, awesome.

Hello to Pie & anyone stopping in tonight.
                      Have a good night all!

MAE ALL...a nice steady day with no drama, accountant has taken every Thursday off from now till Xmas. YAY Boss continues to piss off the childcare directors but it doesn't effect me.

TG...wow, no "?" marks. LOL I'll just concentrate on seeing my family doctor before booking any other appointments. Of course now that I have my car back it's not so stressful. LOL I actually didn't think I'd see her again as she's gone at the end of October so I'm glad for that. Hope you got all your taxes done.

Wags...sorry to hear about your dog, hope it's nothing too serious.

Mick...glad the storm was a light weight. The Mousetrap is playing here as well, don't think I'll be going. You've got that right about bosses bearing gifts, another is Human Resources has the company's back not the employee's. I'm just going to record everything I do whenever I do it. I don't another staff person is warranted unless they work a 2-10pm shift to cover off night programs. Then they at least could be trained properly. I'm just grateful that the boss and I get along.

Slo...sorry Boyd is giving you grief. Ha, I never thought Mick's starting again at 'A' because of all the storms he gets. Makes sense. I always get a lift after having my hair done.

Lav...less moaning is definitely a win. Glad it seems to be working. We don't know who the catering company was, they were hired by the renter. Regardless I won't have to worry about booking her again. The 4 kittens look so cute. I think the word is out about your place. It's been trying to rain all afternoon and is supposed to be steady over night and tomorrow. Our temps this weekend are a whopping high of 4C/39F, I see snow in the near future. LOL

Shout out to the rest of you. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Hi all, just checking in to say hey and to let you know everything is ok. We had a rough 48 hours or so with a sick pup but she's on the mend. Exhausted from two sleepless nights though so gonna keep this short. I'll catch up with you all over the weekend.

MAE ALL...had a lovely day at work, couple more hall viewings that ended up signing on the dotted line, and boss came by and said what ever you're working on rap it up we're going home early. LOL Nice way to start the weekend.

Mick...I'm not quite understanding your feelings towards Halloween and Christmas. :rotlf: So did the switch help? Did you get the car done? It's been so long I forget what he's coming to do. LOL

Wags...glad the pup is on the mend, sorry for your sleepless nights. Hope you can relax and rejuvenate over the weekend.

Our forecasted rain has not materialized yet but there's been some very interesting cloud formation throughout the day. Although they're predicting rain again tomorrow the steady downpour is not supposed to start till evening. I hope they're right because I've got a lot of running around to do. Will check back later to see if anyone else posts.

                                Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP
