    Re: 15th octomber

Oh, heaven’s no; I didn’t take those three babies swimming, and out to lunch, and to the movies all by myself! Daughter was with me. And she’s the one who fed her kid all the sugar; soda, ice cream, and a big bag of candy at the movies!
Root beer is popular here for the kids, Mick, because it’s one of the few sodas that usually doesn’t get caffeine added to it.

I was wondering where your post was yesterday, PQ! So you have traded sons for this week. That is so sad about assistant childcare director’s little grandchild, and the family and siblings. She is out of pain now though.
I didn’t get depressed this Sunday, but was tired and napped. Then couldn’t sleep much last night, then napped forever with Huxley this afternoon. Eeesh.I think the supplements that the pain specialist foisted on me are messing with me some.

That is hard to get up so early one day, and then have to stay late at work the very next day, TG. I would prefer more consistency than that.
Oh, I love it that your nephew recognized you as part of his family support team in the audience! And what a capable guy he is.

Fly, fingers crossed for a successful surgery for your cat tomorrow. Hopefully she will do as well as Lav’s dog did.
The same is wished for YB tomorrow, Lav. My pain migrates some between my knee and low back too.
So glad that your weekend was good, Wags, so you feel ready for work today.

    Take care, all.

My poor kitty is having surgery tomorrow morning. I'm beat. Been dealing with getting her treated all day, my mother in law is in the hospital, and I have a pounding headache. Hopefully I'll have good news when I check in tomorrow.

    Good night all

MAE ALL...I liked all the posts yesterday but I see my post didn't stick. Oh well, I'll carry on. The assistant childcare director's granddaughter passed away Friday night. She didn't make it to her 3rd birthday and spent 2 years in and out of hospital. She's at peace now and I hope the family can get some peace knowing she's not in pain anymore. It was a quiet yet steady day for me so it went fast enough. Youngest son headed to Montreal on Sunday and I thought yay I have my house to myself until oldest son walked in. He'd been up north and I didn't know when he was coming home.

Lav...hope you don't have to head out too early tomorrow and I hope this one does the trick. I'm the opposite of you, I think better early in the morning and it fizzles out early in the afternoon. LOL

Mick...always better to be proactive. I think winter will be arriving here on Saturday. We've got a mild week ahead of us but then we'll be sitting around or below freezing by the weekend and snow is predicted by Monday. It had to come.

Wags...glad you had a quiet relaxing weekend, you deserved it.

TG...it's an eerie feeling isn't it. Glad you don't have far to walk to get to work.

Slo...sounds like you had a lovely Sunday with the grandkids. Way to go filling them up on sugar and then sending them home. LOL

Fly...sorry to hear about your kitty, hope you can sort things out with diet and not surgery. Hope you got a rest today.

Time to figure out dinner. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

    Good evening folks,

Today felt like Tuesday all day, don’t know why. Taking YB for another steroid injection tomorrow - MAYBE this will be the one that actually works for him. His pain has left the hip area & is concentrated in the knee. This has been a very weird episode, honestly! Still mostly sunny & cool, perfect for me.
Philadelphia is losing it’s mind with it’s football & baseball team right now. Not something that holds my attention haha.

Mick, glad you’re not frozen yet. I just heard there’s snow in the highest elevations of the Blue Ridge mountains. Closer to Sam’s territory than here.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the cost of health services as they make changes. I hope the price gougers don’t take over.

Wags, glad you had a good weekend. I’m trying to run outside when I have a few minutes to do a little tidying up of gardens beds but I plan to leave most of it for the winter critters. Better to clear out in the Spring.

Cyn, wow you have been on a roll haven’t you? Great that you were recognized at your nephew’s award ceremony, that was thoughtful.
Changing shifts will get easier in time, I promise. I always preferred the later shift as my brain does not fully turn on at 6 am, Lol
Schedule yourself plenty of rest time, don’t wear your immunity down this time of year.

PQ, hope everything is OK with you!

Slo, hope your Huxley day was good.

FlyAway, you are going to need to buy a winter wardrobe when you come back this way! Hope yuo had a good day.

Hello to Pie, Sam & everyone.

    Have a nice night all.
    Lav

Fly - I'm so sorry to hear about your poor kitty! That sounds painful - no surprise she was crying. Glad you were able to get her to the ER vet, and I hope things resolve easily with just diet and not surgery.

Mick - great jokes as usual. Love your bunny pics!

Lav - glad your grandson was able to help with all the lifting! Sounds like he'll be a big help in the years to come.

Slo - that sounds like quite a day with your grandkids. Sugar is very powerful isn't it? It will be interesting to see how those behaviors evolve as he grows older. Enjoy your quieter day with Huxley tomorrow!

TG - your schedule sounds a bit exhausting, if only because you never get to have a consistent sleep schedule. That must have been wonderful to be named by your niece's husband. He sounds like a really great guy.

After some kinda crazy stressful weeks, we had a very quiet relaxing weekend. Actually got a lot done, but also had plenty of time to just hang out.

Hellos and waves to all! Hope everyone is off to a great start with this new week.

    Mae all,

Goodness, I thought I was just away a day, but guess not... I had to go back to last week's thread to catch up!

Wags, so glad to hear the good news about the pup... hope you can breathe a sigh of relief now...

Lav, maybe today was the doc day ... though it sounds as if YB is moving around a little better. Your animal stories are so funny... they must keep you on your toes... glad that your grandson can help with moving stuff around... and good for him to get time at your house, I'm sure.

SLO - I was worn out just reading about your day with the little ones! Kudos to you - sounds like a great time that they will remember. Hope you get some rest. So sorry about the medical system and all the costs of doing "other" therapies. I agree, most anything that was really helpful to me was no through the "regular" system - osteopaths, acupuncture, etd. all come out of my pocket... good luck with your therapies. Expensive, but if it really helps, worth it!

Fly - so nice to see you here - I think I remember your name from the "old" days. Nice to have you here.

PPQ - sorry about the dark drive in the morning. I get it - this morning I started at 6 AM, and it was dark - I don't have far to go, but I felt a little worried about being alone and no cars around... I walked right down the middle of the street, in the street lamp light until I got to the door of my work!

Mick - great jokes! thank you. Interesting that you have had a good result with TEMU. I tried them last spring when I wanted to put together a plant-stand holder - which came to me with some of the pieces, but no cross-bars, and no screws or nuts! I just donated the stuff right in the box - couldn't figure out I to get the things to make it work... too hard to send it back. But good luck and glad it is working for you!

Yesterday I was with family all day - my niece's husband (I am close to them and my 3 grand-nieces) had a very special day. My nephew was awarded Command of the 155th Air Refueling Wing of the Nebraska National Guard... next step will be becoming a General, but first he will command this force for about 5 years. They are massive planes that specialize in re-fueling the fighter jets while airborne... amazing. He is the most humble person, and I adore the whole family (3 girls). It was a proud day, and I was shocked that he publicly acknowledged me along with his Mom and my brother and Sister-in-law... he said "Aunt Cindy" was in the audience. (I cried!). My father, who was Navy, and my mother (who secretly loved "Fly Boys) would have been so proud to be there to see them. And my niece will be a great asset to him - she was wonderful in the (lengthy) reception line. Sometimes life really works out well...

Well, that's all for these tired fingers. Worked 6AM to 2 PM today - then went to "feed" my elder person. Trying to stay awake for a bit, as tomorrow I work 2PM to 10PM, and will also be at work on Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll see how this old body holds up!

Wishing all well, healthy and happy - sending love and care balm to help with all the violence in the world today... hugs to all of you -
    TG

    Good evening friends,

Mostly sunny & cool today ~ perfect for me
My grandson ended up doing all the lifting himself because granny is out of shape, haha. The new rug is in place, I’m happy & he was happy for the cash. We had a good hour to chat & catch up over coffee & banana bread slices.

Mick, nice of you to warm up the rabbits, I’m sure they appreciate your effort. We haven’t had any freezing temps yet, usually don’t before Halloween but who knows these days. So some parts of your health service are being sold off? How does that work with payments? Interesting. It’s all a great big capitalistic money grab over here, shameful really. I think your friend Bob has bigger problems than a cracked outboard motor, LOL

FlyAway, sorry about your cat, hope she feels better soon. When I was a kid I had a Pekingese-Poodle mix, cute little dog. I came home from school one day & she wasn’t there. My parents had taken her to the vet where she had a large bladder stone removed. She lived long & healthy after that. I hope your cat improves quickly. Catch up on your sleep, going down to 45 tonight - good sleeping weather.

Slo, you were brave taking 3 little ones to the movies & out to lunch. It wasn’t often when I had the 3 grandkids together but I always had/needed help haha. Enjoy your Huxley Monday

Hellos going out to PQ, Cyn, Pie & everyone looking in tonight.
Let’s all have a good night!

    Lav

Fly, poor kitty! She must feel better after getting those stones out. You need a nap today after that.

The bunnies are so cute together, Mick!
That’s quite a story about your muscle being pinched by your femur bone -for 10 years! Thankfully Rick knew what he was doing, and you finally got relief.

Lav, it’s a good excuse to spend some of the day with your grandson!

I got to spend the day with three of my little grandchildren. They came down to see Grandma’s house (condo) for the first time. We went swimming at the Y, went for lunch at a sub sandwich & ice cream shop, and went to the movies together: their first time at the movie theater!
You can sure tell which one is primed for addiction, based on his reaction to sugar: Beckett was having (root beer) soda for the first time, at lunch in the restaurant, and kept saying, “This is the best party EVER!!” followed by, “I need more SODA!” Mabel, meanwhile, would just say, “I don’t like the soda”, and drank plain water. What will Beckett be like when he tries beer for the first time?! He’s too much like his grandma! Baby Cooper thought it was the best party ever too, because he got to gnaw on a sub bun.
I was thankful that they didn’t stay overnight, because they were too destructive in my condo. I was ready to see them go after that. And Boyd was happy to have the little tail-pullers leave too.

Tomorrow will be my day babysitting 1-year-old Huxley.

I hope everyone is having a good Day of Rest. Except Mick, who doesn’t like to rest!

    Re: 15th octomber

Well things took an unexpected turn last night. My female 5 year old kitty first vomited around 7pm. Okay, perhaps a hairball, but I heard a cat vomiting and she vomited in the litter box. Weird. Never had that happen before. 8pm is dinner time and she is a food hound. We usually have to keep an eye on her so that she doesn't eat her food and the other two cat's food as well. She wasn't there for dinner. I went looking for her and she was in the litter box. She eventually came out of the box and ate. After that I noticed her going in the box, sitting there for quite a while, and jumping out after not passing anything. Long story short, we ended up taking her to the emergency vet at midnight, after she started crying in the litter box, and she's still there now. She has something called struvite stones in her bladder. They put a catheter in so thankfully her bladder was emptied and we are looking at options. They wanted to do surgery, but after reading about it, we may be able to treat the stones with diet alone. Both hubby and I were up until about 3:30 in the morning and were awakened by the vet calling around 7am. I feel like a zombie.

Lav, I look forward to your chilly weather, but not so much the darkness. Nice of your grandson to help.

Hiya Mick. Your bunnies are so cute! Just the two then? There you are, talking about frost while it's going up to 80F/27C here today!

?Hello, you have reached the ?Men?s Help Line. My name is Bob. How can I help you??
?Hi Bob, I really need your advice on a serious problem. I have suspected for some time now that my wife has been cheating on me. You know, just the usual signs: The phone rings and when I answer, the caller hangs up. Plus, she goes out with ?the girls? a lot. I usually try to stay awake to look out for her when she comes home, but I always fall asleep.
Anyway, last night about midnight, I woke up and she was not home. So, hid in the garage, behind my boat and waited for her. When she came home, she got out of someone?s car, buttoning her blouse, then she took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on.
It was at that moment, while crouched behind the boat, that I noticed a hairline crack in the outboard motor mounting bracket. Is that something I can weld, or do I need to replace the whole bracket?"

One day, Jimmy Joe was walking down Main Street when he saw his buddy Bubba driving a brand new pickup. Bubba pulled up to him with a wide grin. "Bubba, where'd you get that truck?!?" "Bobby Sue gave it to me" Bubba replied. "She gave it to you? I knew she was kinda sweet on ya, but a new "Well, Jimmy Joe, let me tell you what happened. We were driving out on County Road 6, in the middle of nowhere. Sue pulled off the road, put the truck in 4-wheel drive, and headed in to the woods. She parked the truck, got out, threw off all her clothes and said, 'Bubba, take whatever you want'. So I took the truck!"
"Bubba, you're a smart man!. Them clothes woulda never fit you".
Working...
