    Re: 22nd October

    Hi, all,

Huxley was pretty fine, but has a bit of runny nose, and he has a cough. He slept 12 hours through the night, yet woke up with a dry diaper! That concerned me, but I got him drinking & peeing again. Then I babysat him again this morning, while his mother had a procedure done in preparation for implantation of the next embryo. He was pretty fine again. And napped well yesterday, and slept well through the night. Tomorrow I go up to help out with the three grandkids.

Bummer that you couldn’t finish your project, Mick; but at least the main windows that need to be done are done now.
Those moon pics are unbelievable! That’s quite a camera!
One of your jokes reminded me of a “real life” joke in Reader’s Digest that I liked: A teacher was working at her desk after school was out for the day. A janitor/maintenance man who was going around doing repairs poked his head in and said, “Are there any little problems in here?”, to which the teacher replied, “No, all the little problems have gone home for the day.”

I remember when you had those nice older neighbors, Lav: before she got dementia. It’s such a cruel disease. Mt mother’s 65-year-old stepdaughter finally died from her Alzheimer’s last month.

Fly, that suit for your cat sounds genius! I hated those cone collars.

TG, did you have a 5-day week mainly because of picking up the extra day for your coworker? Do you mainly work about three days per week?

PQ, the work printer connected to your phone?! Thankfully IT guy was there to figure it all out.
Glad your son can help you out tomorrow, but yes: get a firm commitment! So he’s not liking his job too much?

Pie, it’s hard to be an informed voter, but good for you for doing the research and finding the actual facts out before voting locally.
I’m glad that poor abused rescue can experience love & care with you.

I’m going to the pain clinic 3x/week, and sure hope I can heal from this mess that my body is in. I hope it isn’t going to be a chronic condition that keeps getting worse & worse. But, nerve damage can be permanent. I can’t wait until my $750 foot orthotic comes in! That’s my best bet for improvement.

            Re: 22nd October

            Hey kids,

Really nice Fall day here, no complaints
The feral cat Penny has decided to move her brood again from my garage to the woodpile out & away from the house. The weather is fairly mild this week & it?s not a big deal to walk a bowl of kitten food a couple times per day. I don?t know why these cats do this but I?ve witnessed it a few times now. Maybe they want to be close but not too close? I don?t know. YB has had good relief from yesterday?s knee injection - hope it lasts a good long time.

Mick, did you eat anything yesterday that made your blood sugar jump up & then suffered the effects of a crash? That?s happened to me after eating something like honey nut cheerios. The same thing happened with my son years ago when he was young. It?s scary but teaches you what not to eat.
So Bonnie is a sun follower, haha! Sounds like the cats! Yep, the Phillies blew their chance to go to the World Series - it?s over for another year.

Slo, my former neighbor was really kind to me after my mom died. I had just moved my parents into the addition we built about 7 months prior when she suddenly passed. I?ll keep those special memories of her. Glad Huxley was OK. That dry diaper thing is scary, I remember.
I hope the new orthotic is the answer to your pain problems, that would be wonderful for sure

PQ, when you renew your license do you actually have to take a new test? I?m confused because all we do is send money to the DOT & we?re renewed. We do it all online now, easy. Hope your wiper can be replaced quickly. I just had that happen a few years ago while driving in a heavy rain the entire wiper broke off & flew off into a field, haha. When I get into YB?s truck my phone automatically connects to everything in the truck - annoying, Lol. I imagine your phone trying to control the printer at work is annoying too!!!! Stay safe out there & I?m glad you?re getting new glasses

Hello to Cyn, hope you?re OK.
Hi to Pie, busy with the doggies.
Wags, hope. Our day was good!

            Have a nice night all!

              MAE everyone,

Following the news right now on the mass shooting in the US state of Maine. It's really just horrific how many of these events we have here in the US (it's horrific no matter where it happens - we just have by far the most). Very sad.

Gonna just say a quick sober hello and goodnight this time but will check in more fully tomorrow.

              Take care everyone.

Siberian cold front to drop temps here to 50 or lower next week? We?ll see if the front makes it all the way to south Texas. A lovely pair of moss green, suede boots at Lands End has caught my eye. In truth, boots need to be dusted more often than than they need to be worn. But still ?
I?m working on a rescue transport involving Pilots and Paws. We?re needing to get a surrendered, diabetic pup from west Texas to Kansas, a distance of some 600 miles. First time attempting to coordinate with this group of volunteer pilots and plane owners; much to learn.

Lav, I think Texas requires vision test periodically. Glad you asked the question because my license renews in 2024, and I need to get clear on requirements.

PQ, I?m visiting an optometrist tomorrow to see about eyeglasses for driving. Have you gotten new ones?

Slo, what happens at your pain clinic visits?

Fly, what part of the world are you in?

                    Re: 22nd October

                    Good evening friends,

Rather warm today 79 degrees! I miss the cooler weather already
YB had to see the dermatologist for his 3 month checkup today & she ended up scraping another kin lesion from his lower leg. Specimen to go to the lab, hoping it’s not more melanoma. His knee is much better today, fingers crossed it stays that way.

Mick, now I’m picturing a deer with buck teeth, thanks haha!
Congrats to Amy on her engagement. Can’t wait to hear about wedding plans. I think it’s nice her guy talked to you first. Hope your weather clears so you can exercise your new camera all you like. I’m hearing the Maine shooter recently had a two week inpatient stay at a mental hospital because he was acting erratic & hearing voices. Taking away people’s guns in this country is damn near impossible sadly. Bill Clinton had it right way back when he banned assault rifles. They never should have been sold again. Damn gun lobbies

Pie, the green boots sound awesome. You only live once & should get what you like, right?
Pilots & Paws sounds like a great organization to work with, good luck with that.

Wags, it’s so sad we value gun rights over the lives of innocent people. It’s absolutely shameful!

PQ, someone in Calgary posted a very snowy pic on FB this morning. Hope it wasn’t too big of a hassle for you!

Slo, how was your day with the 3 kids?

Fly, I hope you & your kitty & your MIL are all OK. Warm here just like FL. Tonight is the Halloween parade in town, at least folks won’t freeze.

I ran down to the woodpile with a couple bowls of kitten food as soon as we got home. It was obvious they were waiting for me Lol.
                    Have a nice night all!

                      Re: 22nd October

MAE ALL?I was totally exhausted when I got home yesterday, so sorry for not posting. It?s been a quiet steady day, seems like I?m getting everything wrapped up. All Winter programs went live today so now I can get back to the craft sale.

Slo?it was more like my phone connected to the work printer so the printer wouldn't receive any print jobs, it was confused. LOL It?s not that son doesn?t like his job, he just doesn?t like working period. It?s so hard to grow up. LOL

Mick?cold, cloudy day yesterday but at least no more snow. Did you figure out what caused your blood sugar levels to drop? You?re not diabetic, are you? What a cute picture of Bonnie. Sorry about losing the addition to the post. The moon pics are so clear. The boys fed the existing wiper blade back into where it should be, but it won?t last. It?s working fine and they can replace it on the weekend when we?re out of the deep freeze. Congratulations on Amy?s engagement. I think it?s just proper he asked you first. No snowfall or freezing rain but we?re still in the deep freeze so all the snow is frozen. It?s warming up tonight and tomorrow, we?re sending the deep freeze to Pi. LOL The new glasses are more a precaution if they want to do an eye test. I?m not really sure if they will or not. I?ll let you know.

Lav?Penny has decided to change postal codes again eh? Good news about YB?s relief, hope it lasts too. We have to renew our drivers license every 5 years. I have glasses as a condition and I?m not sure if they?ll do an eye test so I just want to be ready. I think they make you do the test again when you turn 85, I?ve got a long way to go for that. Get one of the grandkids to turn your Bluetooth off and it?ll stop connecting to things in YB?s truck. Good to hear that the knee continues to improve, hope you?re not dealing with melanoma again. It was a wallop of snow and the amount varied where you lived in the city. NW, where I am, got 15 inches. My short trip to work and grocery store is on well-travelled roads so it was just a matter of watching out for the idiots. Those kittens sure have your number don?t they.

Wags?that?s all I?ve been hearing about in the news too. The gun violence in Canada has increased too. I?m curious how your Dad is doing too.

Pi?if you get the boots, we want a pic. I think you should go for it. Good luck with the Pilots and Paws, sounds like a lot of logistics. The optometrist said my left eye has changed and needs a new prescription, but the cataract isn?t bad enough for surgery. She said my right eye, where I?ve had cataract surgery, is clear. The new glasses should be here in about 2 weeks, they order from Vancouver, BC.

TG?thinking of you. Hope you?ve been able to work out when you can get your shots.

Waves to anyone I missed. Have a good night all?.:smile:PPQP

                        Re: 22nd October

                        Evening,

Melanoma, Lav? That is scary. Apparently YB has had a spot of it before?
That’s cute how the kitties are expecting their food!
It is nice that it won’t be too cold for the Halloween parade in town. Will your granddaughter go?

My day with the three grandkids did not go well. I need to back away from that now. It’s not working out for me with the chronic pain and heading towards paralysis condition that I am operating under. My body doesn’t work right, and I don’t have the needed alacrity and nimbleness. I have trouble completing my own activities of daily living and home care (need to space everything out and rest a lot), and don’t need to take on more. Also, it’s three hours on the road in one day each week in order to help her out.
In addition, Beckett is an out-of-control, manipulative little sh*t, and I’m not allowed to speak firmly to him in any way nor set any limits on his behavior. I am told that I am “yelling” -which I am not - and repeatedly get this lecture about how I am an adult, and I have to “model emotionally-regulated behavior” for him.
I was in so much physical pain in my ears from his screams yesterday -my left ear is still ringing -that I eventually had to get away. And of course I didn’t do that right either -escaping into the room where the mother was nursing Cooper was apparently incorrect. I was told I should have gone outside. Then I immediately ran into a typical landmine at their house -a full cup of water with no lid on it left nestled in the bed. After that spilled, immediately stripping the sheet off the big king-sized bed and blotting the mattress wasn’t the right move either. I was told I should be leaving that alone because Beckett needs to be attended to. No emotions are allowed for me: not even internal ones: now I’m accused of seeming to be “on edge”. Ya think? And I am told to “go home”. After I drove an hour and a half to get there. Yeah, I’ll home -and never going back!

PQ, now I get it about the printer interacting with your powerful new phone.
That has to feel good that the Winter programs are up & running, and you can now put your focus on the next thing.

The moon pictures just amaze me, Mick. Cute, crisp closeup of Bonnie too.
Well that’s fun that Amy is engaged! Although not a surprise to you!

Assault rifles definitely should have been kept banned & illegal. They cause so much carnage.

Pie, at the pain clinic I have a traction machine pulling on my knee replacement knee; and laser treatments to my lower spine, neck, great toes, and the other knee which I fractured last year. Then e-stimulation to my neck and lower spine, and the entire spine is rolled out on a roller bed. Then traction to my neck. My orthotics are in for my feet! I will have them fitted tomorrow.
Good luck with coordinating the Paw Pilots program.

Major congrats to Amy and her beau on the occasion of their engagement! Date set? Bonnie to serve as flower girl?

So far I?m showing fiscal restraint on the boots, but may reconsider once the freeze arrives from PQ.

That?s a lot of therapy at your pain visits, Slo. Thank you for explaining, and best wishes for success!

Lav, will you watch the World Series even though the Phillies didn?t make it? Starts tonight. Pretty sure I?ll be tuning in.

Doggie transport planning has lots of moving parts, so will take some time to come together. Turns out that the receiving foster lady is a pilot in training, willing to fly some portion of the distance herself.

                                Good day to all,

The shootings in Maine... Nothing will ever be done here and it makes me feel so helpless and angry. In Florida you don't even need a permit any longer to conceal and carry a gun. A woman I know was telling me about how she got into a road rage incident with a man and he came up to her car window and yelled at her. She told me that she was going to start carrying her gun with her so that she could pull it out the next time that happened! Why? Are you going to shoot someone over him yelling at you? It's crazy.

Pie, I'm in Florida. I just checked my weather for next week and it looks like there are a couple overnights where the temperature is supposed to go down to 52 with the highs in the mid 70s. I'm flirting with the idea of getting real glasses myself. My eyes are still pretty good but I'm noticing that my distance vision, which was once better than 20/20, is the slightest bit blurry. Been using readers for a few years. Btw, a former coworker of mine has her own plane and she does flights up and down the east coast transporting pets. So cool!

Hiya Mick. Really enjoying your photos. I had to really look at the last one you posted. At first I thought it was trees in a foggy forest, then I realized it was the water from the third shot! Beautiful. I wouldn't hold your breath expecting any gun laws to change in the States. Congrats on Amy's engagement.

Lav, yikes, how long ago was YB diagnosed with melanoma? Very scary. I'm glad to hear that his knee is a bit better. My cat and my MIL are both doing better, although MIL is very weak. She's been moved into a rehab facility but is so worn out that she pretty much sleeps whenever she isn't up exercising. She told her son in law that she's had enough and just wants to be done. Her daughter is just press, press, pressing her to do more, eat more, try harder, etc. I know that she doesn't want to lose her mom, but I sometimes wish she'd back off a bit. Frieda, my cat, gets her stitches out on Monday, hallelujah, and will get to give herself a proper washing after that! Poor kitty must be going nuts not able to lick all critical areas!

Slo, holy smokes, that's ridiculous how you were treated! I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to go back. I think I mentioned before that I have a grandson with some behavioral issues. It's not just him though, the whole house is filled with yelling. It's like how they all communicate with each other, adults included. I always have earplugs with me because I get so overwhelmed with it all sometimes that I can't take it. Your pain clinic treatment sounds intense!
