    Re: 29th October

    Good evening friends,

It was below freezing again when I got up this morning. Expecting some warmer weather for a few days after this. Kittens are keeping me running, geez. I find they are running back & forth from the garage to the lavender bed in the back of the house. A little while ago I saw all 4 of them running on my deck which means they managed the steps just fine. I really need to start finding takers for them, hopefully!

Mick, glad your storm is done & I hope the door job was completed.
Sorry Julie’s dad was having a down day, they do get like that sometimes. Hope he perks up soon.

Wags, my daughter also said the week was dragging for her. Funny how we all have our own perception of time
Have fun with your Spanish class, sounds cool.

Cyn, 11 am to 7 pm is a great shift to work. Hope you had a good day!
There was no water bowl spillage today so I picked up all the wet towels, haha! It’s so funny that both boy cats sat & stirred the water like that, Luna didn’t do it after her surgery, Lol
YB seems better after this week’s steroid injection in his knee but he’s also learned to not overwork it too. Finally, Lol

Slo, hope your day was good.
Hello to PQ, Pie & everyone.

Have to go put chickens to bed. Have a nice night all!

      Re: 29th October

MAE ALL...well my day went sideways pretty quickly. I didn't feel like I was under water when I woke up so figured I was on the tail end of this cold. As I got ready for work and headed out I felt strange. I felt very weak and figured it was because I hadn't eaten much. Stopped and got some breakfast sandwiches and went into work. After awhile I started feeling quite dizzy and when the childcare directors came in they were quite concerned about me. I was quite weak and had to keep putting my head down. By then the boss came in, he had been told I wasn't doing good, and said go home. They asked if anyone was at home and I thought oldest son was but when I phoned him he had headed up north. Younger son was home so the childcare directors drove me home, one using my car, and made sure I got in the house. I talked with a triage nurse and she said I was probably dehydrated because of the cold. With my immune system and COPD it could make me feel dizzy/light headed. Started drinking water and son got some Gatorade and I felt much better. Spent the day doing nothing but reading and drinking fluids. The last thing I wanted to do was end up back at the hospital.

So, sorry for not checking in individually, I'll see what tomorrow brings. Have a good night all...:smile:PPQP

Mae all,how are we today then?hope all is well. Storm is allegedly over, though the forecast for today is rain totally. Doors fitted yesterday..absolutely brilliant job..definitely not cheap but worth it...aaargh what am i saying?im Scottish!!!it took him all day nearly to put 2 doors in Mind you they are probably at least100 years old, so definitely not like modern stuff. Getting the one into the the kitchen done in the new year. It will be,because of where it is,a single door, similar to the one with glass in it,but cut straight down the middle and hinged both sdessingle pane of clear glass in each side so that you can see the views through the kitchen window and let's more light in.

Sheesh, how did I get so far behind? The days sure do fly by. Hubby made his 1000 mile drive back home, cats are good, just busy with the usual stuff.

Mick, that door is absolutely beautiful!

PQ, how kind of your coworkers to drive you home. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Lav, glad to hear that you moved the kittens and saved them from the freeze! Is the lavender bed their new litter box? Haha

Slo, good for you for taking more time for yourself!

Wags, good luck with your lessons. I'm anxious to hear how it goes with your language coach. I've been off and on trying to learn Spanish online. I've heard that having a coach or someone to talk to in your new language is really helpful. I'm supposed to travel to Colombia in 2025 and it would be nice to be able to understand what is being said and chat a bit!

          TG, hope you're feeling better.

            Good evening everyone,

Looks like the site is back - will try to post.
Glad I was able to chat with a few on Messenger & text IM. I think we all survived the ‘blackout’ here.

PQ, gosh, I’m glad you had some help the other day when you were feeling off. It’s a known fact that as we age we don’t seem to recognize thirst as much. We get busy & distracted & don’t even think about how much fluid we’ve had in a day. I hope you’re all recovered & keep refilling that water glass.

Mick, the door is lovely. You should have been a home decorator I think
You’re getting a lot of rain & I just realized how dry things are around here. There’s absolutely no rain on the forecast thru the next week & a half.
YB saw an eye doctor today who’s talking about cataract extractions possibly in January. I will never get any rest Lol

Fly, yes time flies these days. I have to keep checking my phone to see what day it is haha.
Glad your husband got back safely, such a long drive. Say Hi to the cats.

Hello to Slo, Cyn, Wags & everyone stopping by tonight. I am trying to get some Christmas themed stuff done for a Dec 2 craft fair.

            Have a good night all!
