    Re: 05 November

    MAE all,

I'm fighting off a cold so gonna keep this quick for this eve so I can get my work done and head to bed early.

TG - I'm so sorry to hear about the pittie. They definitely don't deserve the stigma or stereotype that has been given to the breed. I will cross all fingers and toes that a suitable loving forever home is found for her soon. Thank you for trying so hard.

Hellos and waves to everyone else and catch you tomorrow (hopefully feeling better!)

Tuesday was exhilarating watching the rescue transport unfold! There?s a flight tracking app that allows you to follow a plane in real time along its path. Pic is of pup at her destination with flight crew and new foster mom.

PQ, this one?s for you. This insulated cup is a hydration assist; every time you empty the tumbler, you move a colorful band upward. Adds a bit of fun to the simple task of drinking water. Got mine on Amazon, but see they?re also on eBay for less.

Hey kids, Happy Humpday for those counting work days still

We had a bit more sun today &it warmed up to 55 degrees, pretty nice. Nothing new happening just trying to catch up with normal stuff. had a chat with my daughter re upcoming holiday (Thanksgiving). Looks like I'm having them out here the day after so Thanksgiving will be on a Friday this year. not a big deal to me, did that often when we were both working shiftwork. Haven't figured out the son & his family situation yet, don't know what to do with them. honestly I'm beginning to hate holidays because of all the family dysfunction, ugh. Getting some stitching time in each day too to be ready for Dec.2.

PQ, sounds like yo handled the accountant well, Lol. I was going to put Bob in the garage with the lonely kitten last night until I found that the kitten had also disappeared. they vanish in a poof, I swear it's a mystery to me. So they're all out in the big world by themselves now, hope they survive. The trap has been baited & I've stopped feeding Penny the mama cat so I hope we can relocate her soon. I've had enough with all these kittens this year.

Wags, hope you're feeling better today, I hate colds.

Mick, can't you pay someone to make the rain stop? Geez, that's a lot of water.
Nice that you talked to JC, hope she is well I've never heard of the rose cuttings in a potato trick, interesting. Be sure to let us know how that works.

Pie, that's so sweet the pup made her destination safely!! great pic too!

Cyn, hope you're OK today, thinking of you

Slo, was this a day off from childcare today? Hope it was a good day either way.

Hello to anyone else popping in & wishing a nice night for all.

            Re: 05 November

MAE ALL...it was a strange day today. I swear this time change effected everyone this time. I wanted to move some articles around in the upcoming newsletter and the publisher wouldn't allow it. I think he's still p'oed at the boss. LOL Emailed the delivery gal and asked her when we'd get our Nov newsletter since it's now the 8th and I don't have them. She emailed back and said she couldn't deliver during working hours so left them outside the front door on Saturday. What! Boss replied, at what time? He had staff in from 8:45am - 4:00pm and the building was open. Of course the publisher was cc'd on all these emails and he called me asking if he emailed me a full printable pdf version would that help. So I can print off 40 copies, I don't think so. He said oh, I thought they just didn't come early enough, didn't realize we didn't get any. He's been out of the office all morning and can't get ahold of the delivery gal. He said he would find out what's going on and I said and when you do you can call the boss.

Wags...hope you're feeling better. I think I'm finally over mine.

Mick...I hope the rain let's up soon, you're probably going stir crazy. Despite the newsletter mix up things were fairly calm. So glad tomorrow is my last day before the weekend, I've had enough of this week.

Pi...wow, I bet it was exhilarating. How cool to be able to watch the flight in real time and what a great pic at the destination. You must be so pleased. Thanks for the pic of the hydration assist, I think it's a great idea. Anything that motivates me to actually drink the water will help. I'll investigate and let you know what I come up with.

Lav...I totally get the dysfunctional family and the holidays. I felt the same way. With any luck DIL will have to work on Friday and your son and the kids can join you. I was looking forward to another "Bob" story getting him to the garage. At least the kitten isn't all alone anymore. Good luck with catching and relocating Penny, you don't need another winter of surprise visitors.

TG...also thinking of you and hope you had a better day.

Slo...if I remember correctly, you're babysitting Huxley on Monday's until the new year but no more of the 3 grandkids? Whatever you ended up doing today, hope you had a good one.

Hey Sam...wondering how everything is going in your world. Hope you're getting lots of tunes in before winter settles in for good.

            Wishing all a good night....:smile:PPQP

mae all .how are we today then? hope all is well...I had a bit of a nightmare this morning ...yesterday I made the pelmet for the horse brasses to go on over the window ..it hs come up pretty good ,considering it was pallet wood I sanded ,then beat lumps out of it ..covered it in mud and sanded it ..the mud gives the grain lovely .then put it up and polished it ...all I need is some horse brasses now ..anyway the front room door needed waxing and polishing ...I enjoy doing that,so off I go..a good coating of wax.but ....I got it on the etched glass panel...so I rub it off and the frostyness now becomes clear ..so it looks a real mess .I thought I would have to replace the glass.. tells Julie who says ..oh yes theres a way to clean the glass...I had visions of shelling out another 400 notes ..Gets in touch with the company who says they cant understand it the frostiness is made by millions of indentations in the glass .what I had done was by putting polish on the glass ,had smoothed the surface out to alter that I had to get the wax off .so with a miracle sponge and vinegar ,2 hours later ..job done !!!lesson learned ..my shoulder is killing me though .
It is sunny over here ...yes thats right sunshine ...I think I must have moved ..At 1pm our time I have a messenger call with a lady in Ottowa ,who takes some fantastic pics with her camera ..its the same as mine ..She is going to show me some of the settings she uses, which is very kind of her .

hiya ppqp ...how are you today? hope all is well...how is the rest of the circus doing?I keep thinking this is Friday.....here is the gaff we are off to in December Access Denied whatever that lot means!!!

hiya pie how are you doing ...bet you were chuffed to see the dog on the plane ...good for you and the organisation that cup looks like a good idea .

hiya Lav ,how are you doing? hope all is well with you ...yep Jacs is doing good ..it was nice to talk to her ..Like you I hope the kittens are ok..its a big big world out there..here is the rose cutting thing ..

https://youtu.be/IWFPSrFQZ_Y are you busy doing the embroidery?....

              take care all...

Woman comes home and tells her husband, "Remember those headaches I've been having all these years? Well, they're gone."
"No more headaches?" The husband asks, "What happened?"
His wife replies, "Margie referred me to a hypnotist. He told me to stand in front of a mirror, stare at myself and repeat 'I do not have a headache; I do not have a headache, I do not have a headache.' It worked. The headaches are all gone."
His wife then says, "You know, you haven't been exactly a ball of fire in the bedroom these last few years. Why don't you go see the hypnotist and see if he can do anything for that?" The husband agrees to try it.
Following his appointment, the husband comes home, rips off his clothes, picks up his wife and carries her into the bedroom. He puts her on the bed and says, "Don't move, I'll be right back." He goes into the bathroom and comes back a few minutes later and jumps into bed and makes passionate love to his wife like never before.
His wife says, "Damn! That was wonderful!"
The husband says, "Don't move! I will be right back." He goes back into the bathroom, comes back and round two was even better than the first time. The wife sits up and her head is spinning.
Her husband again says, "Don't move, I'll be right back." With that, he goes back in the bathroom. This time, his wife quietly follows him and there, in the bathroom, she sees him standing at the mirror and saying,
              She's not my wife.
              She's not my wife.
              She's not my wife.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday

                Greetings friends,

Fairly decent day here, no complaints. I?m making progress with the embroidery stuff so I?m happy. Somehow, one way or another I have all 4 kittens back in my garage today, haha! I closed the door completely so they will stay put at least for now. We are in the process of waiting for Penny to take the bait in the Have a Heart trap. This may take a while, we?ve tried this before with her without success. They?re all making my head spin. I agree with the red brick too haha
There?s a big fire currently going on at a new Amish hardware store nearby. Someone on our local message board posted a picture, looks pretty bad.

PQ, sounds like you had an interesting day yesterday, Lol
Bob has been going into the garage from time to time to play with the kittens. He feels like a big shot & gets a little rough with them until I step in & break it up, haha.

Hello to Cyn, Slo, Wags, Pie & everyone!

                Have a nice night all!

                  Mae all,
This will be short, as I am in my phone and it annoys me when my posts have all those question marks.
Just wanted yo drop in and say a big thank you to all for your thoughtfulness. I am trying to love on, but that sweet girl got firmly lodged in my imagination. Time will heal. Work is long and physically demanding but gets me out of the house.
Lav, good luck with the kitten situation?
Mick, awesome job on the doors, and so glad you could clean the glass.
Pie, what a great pic of a successful transfer.
PPQ, gosh that was a scary story about dehydration. I took that as a note to myself to drink more water. Love the market kind of water bottle that Pie suggested.
Wags, thank you for your kind understanding.
Fly, hope hubs gets home safely.

Okay, off to a concert some friend?s are doing - the Requiem by Faure. Should be lovely.

                  Wishing all well?

MAE ALL...:yay: it's the weekend :yay:...well at least for me. LOL The childcare directors and I decided that as long as we have to keep changing our clocks twice a year, we want the week following, off, with pay. It has been a strange week and the kids are now off school till Wednesday because the school teacher's decided they needed a 4 day fall break.

Mick...better a sore shoulder than the pain of your pocket book. Julie to the rescue. LOL Can't wait to see the finished product. Hope you were able to record the messenger call with the lady in Ottowa (Is that Ottawa, Canada?) How did you manage to hook up with her? Her advise will be priceless. I love that the link came up "Access Denied". LOL Looks like a fabulous place. Was hoping I could see what some of the rooms look like but it wasn't on the website. So if you master those settings, some pics would be nice.

Lav...Bob is just like a big brother where you have to step in and settle things. LOL I can't believe they all came back...isn't there a song like that? Good luck getting Penny in the Have a Heart trap, hope it works this time, you've had enough. Wow, that is quite the fire. I hope everyone is ok. Glad you're making progress with the embroidery.

TG...look, no ?'s. Way to go. Just wondering how you managed to get in your phone though. LOL Yes, time will heal and you make sure you don't over due it with work. I hope you had a lovely time at the concert.

Waves to Pi, Slo, Wags, Fly, Sam and anyone else I forgot to mention. Have a peaceful evening all...:smile:PPQP

                      Re: 05 November

                      Good evening,

I spend my days lately going to my pain therapy appointments, 3x/week. It’s a bit of a drive, so it takes a chunk out of the days. But it’s wonderful! And, I hope it’s helping, and I think it is. Today, though, was a haircut & color (toner), and then I stopped off for a little shopping. Ran into my ex sister-in-law’s caregiver whom I’m friendly with, in the store. So, after a long chat with her, as well as the visit with my hair stylist, it was a nice afternoon!

Yes, the shelves in my entryway got put up, plus all the pictures too. Everything looks great!
I can’t believe it took you two hours of “elbow grease” to get all the wax off the new frosted windows, Mick! Ouch.
Trading tricks & tips about your new camera with the Ottawa lady sounds like a great way to advance your learning to the next step.
                      “Gregorian calendar” -ha!

There’s lots of family dysfunction here too, Lav. My youngest brother is blowing off the family, I’m not speaking to my twin sister…finally got a Thanksgiving invitation from my little sister, but my mother had to intercede in order to get me & my twin sister invited. My little sister’s in-laws are on the outs with her husband (their son) for a couple years now…

Sorry your rescue fell through, TG. There’s another doggie out there somewhere for you, I’m sure. Hope the concert is soothing.
Pie, that dog looks so happy in the photo, after finishing his flight!

Tomorrow, after dropping Boyd off at the pet hotel and after my pain therapy appointment, then I’m traveling to the next state over to visit a friend for the weekend. ‘Hi’ to all!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

                        MAE everyone,

Bit of a roller coaster week here. I think I'm succeeding in fighting off the cold, or at least keeping it to a fairly slight one, so that's good. Unfortunately our pup is having some health issues again and it's pretty stressful. Symptoms and signs suggest maybe heart disease or similar, but it's hard to say just based on what we can see and hear. I scheduled an appt with our vet next Tue, and we'll head to the veterinary urgent care if she needs attention sooner than that. My heart isn't ready to be broken, so I'm really hoping she's ok or that there's a gentle treatment for whatever is ailing her. The last time I had to have my dog put to sleep was about 13 years ago, and I was SO sad I broke my 10-year quit and started drinking again just to numb the pain. I'm in a far stronger place now than I was then, but I also want to shore things up in advance since I've seen this break me before.

Hopefully it's a lot of worry over nothing and she'll have at least a few more good years. She is mostly acting normal, has her usual pep in her step, good appetite, etc etc. Fingers and paws crossed.

I have had a very busy work week on top of that, and tomorrow is brutal. The test dates started yesterday and go through Saturday, and then I get a significant reprieve in my workload. I'll try to post again tomorrow but for sure will check in this weekend.

                            Happy Friday!

I swear these weeks are flying by at the speed of sound lately!!!
chilly & overcast with some light rain for us today, hope it drowned all the allergens haha. Kittens are fine, Bob is helping with the babysitting. Penny was trapped last night & relocated as planned, glad that's over with. There was no other way to deal with her unfortunately.

Cyn, how was the concert, hope you enjoyed yourself

PQ, that fire yesterday was actually at an Amish chain saw shop right next door to the hardware store. the propane refrigerator exploded & one guy was near enough to it he sustained burns on his arms. the community is already at work clearing the site to rebuild. they really look out for one another, it's something.
I hope your long weekend is relaxing.

Slo, great to hear you're getting some pain relief. The long days are worth it I'd say. I can truthfully say all the family dysfunction started shortly after my DIL arrived on the scene. We were a small but functional family unit before she dropped in & I have to admit I resent that. I know I can't do anything to change the situation except try to stay away from her until she (hopefully) pulls her head out of her a$$. It's totally ridiculous & needless behavior on her part.

Wags, I hope your pup is OK. I hate it when they are not well. keeping my fingers crossed for a good outcome. Hope your day was good.

Mick, glad to hear you're finally seeing the sun again, Lol
I took a few minutes to watch the video on rose propagation using a potato, fascinating. I don't think I'll try that soon but hope you have good luck.
love the bird pics, very nice!

Hello to Pie & anyone else dropping by tonight. Have a nice night all!

                              Mae all -
Home from a 6AM to 2PM shift., I took a long nap after that! Quiet night here. I lit some candles that are glowing through this early dark night. The music last night was the Requiem by Faur?, a French composer. Beautiful. Sometimes one of the solos is done by a boy soprano. Mick, I was wondering if you had ever sung that.
And congrats on talking to the person about your camera. you will get there - those things have a learning curve, for sure. The pics you posted are literally brilliant.Colors and subjects gorgeous. Hope you got some rest.
Lav, congrats on capturing Penny! hopefully that will all work out and you won?t have to have to deal with any more litters. Whew. you have done that duty long enough.
PPQ, I hope your weekend is peaceful.
Wags, I get it. No pain like the loss of a beloved animal, but we are all here with you through thick and thin. Hoping that all turns out to be okay.
SLO, so great to hear there is a glimmer of hope on the pain front. I hope that continues.
Pie, hoping all is well with you.
                              Fly, sending hellos.
My brain is worn out, so I am just going to stare at these candles for awhile. Working 2pm to 10 pm tomorrow.
                              Cheers to all.

Lav - glad you caught Penny and were able to relocate her. That must be a relief!

TG - I'm sure there are positives to being done with an 8-hour shift by 2pm, but starting that early (and in the dark nowadays) sounds rough. Hope your nap reinvigorated you and set you up for a nice evening.

Well, we did have to take our doggo to the vet ER this morning. Her coughing and swollen belly were worse, and she was trembling like crazy and that usually means "something is wrong mama". So down the hill we went. Long story short, her vitals were all good and they said her belly seemed like swallowed air (maybe from the coughing) so we didn't need to have her seen or treated today and they thought we'd be fine waiting for our Tue appt with regular vet. That reassurance was worth the time and emotional energy of the trip all by itself. She had a good day - she's my "teaching assistant" and I had a very full day of classes to still deliver, so we spent the entire day together.

Two more classes tomorrow and then my schedule lightens up again for the rest of Nov. Yay!!!

Hellos and waves Mick, Pie, Fly, PQ, Slo and everyone else I'm forgetting off the top of my head. Hope you all have great weekends.
