    Re: 12th of November

    Hi everyone,

Such good news about your dog, Wags! What a relief.
I like to think you have Sunday off too…

TG, wow, that’s something that your Trader Joe’s is having record sales -beyond just the increased traffic & sales because Thanksgiving is coming.
I have always had to rely on memory aids for appointments and scheduling and such -calendars, lists, and alarms are my friends. People make fun of the Day-Timer calendar book that I carry and rely on -but I don’t care.

PQ, good news that the weather cooperated for the craft fair too! Glad the first day was successful. You will have a busy Saturday working the second day of it.

Lav, hopefully four families will want to put kittens under their Christmas tree. Except by then, they won’t be very little -darn!
Very cute gingerbread ornaments, although the lacy gnomes remain my favorite. I gave one each to Beckett & Mabel for Christmas last year.
Oh, that’s great that you had an evening with the grandsons!!
Little boys are very active & quite destructive. I’m actually quite happy that I had four girls and no boys. And now it’s payback time with these four grandsons!

Oh shoot, Mick: I was sure you had found the solution to the outdoor light problem. It’s still raining there? You’ll need to start building an ark next!

I’m heading to a swim meet now to visit with a cousin from out-of-town, and watch her son swim. I should be watching my own daughter’s swim meet; but it’s two states away, and I didn’t go. I should be watching the live feed of it, but truthfully; I’d rather watch paint dry!

    Bye for now.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

      Re: 12th of November

MAE ALL...HEY, it's Saturday and the site is available. :yay: It was another beautiful day with lots of foot traffic through the sale. Everyone is ecstatic about their sales. Makes it all worthwhile.

Lav...I was surprised you hadn't posted before me but it makes sense now. Definitely the right call in not going in when you picked up the grandkids. It has been a long haul. There was a booking request for Dec 9th and I said to the boss, I'm done. These last minute bookings are not worth it. As far as I'm concerned we're full till after the new year. He had to think about it but finally agreed, then asked if I'd come in late the week of Dec 18th because he has that week booked off. No wonder he agreed with me. LOL Can hardly wait to see the display tree full of your ornaments.

Wags...so happy to hear your news. What a relief, I can certainly hear it in your post. Weather continued to be mild which I'm sure contributed to the huge success. I'm glad you had today off and hope your visit with your Dad was a positive one.

Mick...OMG, 4am climbing a ladder in the rain. Surprised Julie didn't shoot you! You be careful rummaging around in the loft looking for that wiring. Electricity and water don't mix in case you don't know. One of our former facility staff employees volunteered as an Ambassador to do the 2 - 5pm shift today. That would mean after the sale finished at 3pm they'd be responsible for the take down and cleaning. The current facility staff person on today is useless and I would have stayed till 5pm to make sure it was all done properly. The current facility staff is almost at his 3 month probation period and I think the boss is going to let him go. He is a nice kid and if you ask him to do a, b, c he will. Otherwise he sits there on his phone doing nothing. I think his days are numbered.

Slo...it was a busy day but the Ambassadors made a huge difference in my workload. They were around to answer the usual questions, direct people, etc. and only sought me out when it was something out of the ordinary. I did not feel like I was being pulled in every direction this go around, so well worth taking the time to train the volunteers. I'm so glad you chose to go with your cousin to watch her son's swim meet. I laughed out loud when you said "I’d rather watch paint dry!" You've come a long way.

Waves to TG and Pi, will catch up with you later. Have a great weekend everyone....:smile:PPQP

        Re: 12th of November

        Greetings friends,

Cloudy this morning but the sun finally made an appearance. It’s currently 43 & windy but I really don’t mind this weather.
The zoo residents are all fine & I’m still stitching my brains out haha!! The grandsons want embroidered hoodies & they each picked out a design on Etsy last night. One wants a red Miota & the other a red Toyota Supra - they know what they like haha. I’ll get to that work after the craft show prep is done.

Wags, great news for you & your pup. I can certainly see the giardia causing the belly bloating, hopefully they gave her meds for that. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a little while longer for a full recovery. Enjoy your weekend

Mick, I would have shot you if I had found you on a ladder at 4 am in the rain, Lol. Some of these things are just too dangerous, remember that.
Yeah it was nice having the boys here for a few hours. Much more grown up, no.loud fighting anymore & nothing was thrown haha. I asked the older one if he would give us a hand setting up the heavy display racks for the craft fair so he’s ready to help. He’s in the process of rebuilding some sort of electric bike he purchased used & that’s what he needed the tools for yesterday. Smart kid.

Slo, I’m thinking about embroidering Christmas stockings for the kittens & taking their pictures with them stuffed inside, Lol. They’re really still small enough I think. Glad you got out for a visit with your cousin, sounds nice. I can relate to the watching paint dry thing. I used to sit thru the fire co. Dinners every year with YB & just wanted to cry, it wasn’t fun at all.

PQ, sounds like your craft sale was a big success, yay!!!
I wouldn’t entertain any new requests at this point either. People usually know to plan ahead for big events, duh. I’m working on large snowflakes for my tree stand today, you’ll see them very soon

Hello to the ever busy Cyn. Hello to Pie & anyone else stopping by.
        Have a nice night all!

          Re: 12th of November

Mick - well darn, sorry to hear that the light had you up (and on a ladder in rain!) at 4am! Will stay tuned to hear whether that ended up fixing things for good. Glad you weren't injured doing that either.

TG - I wonder if all TJs are having such good sales revenue or just yours/some of them. The one nearest our house is always very busy. I hope you are able to recuperate on your days off. Are you still enjoying the work for the most part?

Slo - It must be quite different having 4 grandsons compared with 4 daughters. It sounds like you've found a workable solution by going to care for them at their house and if I understand correctly you're doing less care-giving time per week.

Lav - yep, the vet gave us meds for the giardia. We actually already treated it once about a month ago but this time we're doing 10 days of treatment instead of 5. Our neighbor across the street is also a vet and she said, "oh yes - giardia is EVERYWHERE in this city!" It's my first time being aware of it or having a pet deal with it. I'm really hoping the treatment will work and at least some symptoms will resolve.

PQ - great news that the sale went well again today and the vendors are happy. Good for you on saying no to the additional event on Dec 9! Is there any kind of lull in your work near the end of the year holidays? Or some other time during a typical calendar year? Even if not, I hope you're able to get a decent break for yourself.

Had a good day here. We spent the morning walking/hiking around in the Columbia River Gorge, and then went to see my dad. He was really tired today, but glad to see us. I'm learning that conversations with people who have dementia are not easy - they don't remember what they've done lately, and they're not really up on current events etc. I feel like I have the same conversation with my dad every time I see him. Nothing wrong with that - I just feel bad that I can't think of additional things to talk about. Oh well, he's still safe and reasonably happy, and that's the biggest win of all.

Hellos and waves to Pie, Fly and anyone else I missed. Happy Sundays to you all!
