    Re: 26th Nov.

mae all...how are we doing today then? hope all is good ...we have had our first fall of snow.only about half inch but enough to put a coating everywhere.Went to a friends funeral yesterday ,the church was jammed packed..mostly ex prison staff .rest in peace my friend .

hiya teegee how are you doing? lovely to hear from you...Remember I told you about that record Iwas on way back in 1969? Managed to get a copy the other day..in mint condition ..Lucky with the wd40? it was a life saver ...glad the mri showed nothing out of the ordinary..I had one of them and it showed that I had got a brain ..so no longer have to pursue my wizard of oz quest .I think Covid ,and the vaccinations in their own way have a lot to answer for...as have the governmental strategies ...you take care and stay healthy .

hiya Lav ,yep snow here ..if you need /want any ..happily send some Lancaster way ..the Lancaster this way has loads ..Yes it was a bonus with the wd40...its great stuff..Certainly saved me a lot of drama ...to put it politely ..glad the kitten is doing better ..both rabbits here are cooried up in a box next to the radiator...they get out of their hutch ..with the heated pad I hasten to add, straight into the conservatory where they have a box of straw n hay ..that is by the radiator and next to their water bowls..spoiled but..why not .
dont forget the snow ...just ask !!!

hiya Slo how are you doing? hope you are well...took me78 mins to the airport..they certainly were treated well.Yep it still has that particular smell.but I few sprays of .air freshener boxed that off.your body would adjust?I dont think so...even as a layman thats easy to see .Are you sure it was a doc you saw and not some geezer in a borrowed coat??hope you find a cobbler ..there is one in our village but that isnt the greatest of help to you.

hiya ppqp...how did the dinner go ? hope all went well and you are feeling ok

    Wags ..thinking of you .

I threw a ball for my dog.
    Extravagant, I know.
But, he looks amazing in a tuxedo.

      Re: 26th Nov.

      Greetings all,

Wags, earlier this month you wrote: "The last time I had to have my dog put to sleep was about 13 years ago, and I was SO sad I broke my 10-year quit and started drinking again just to numb the pain. I'm in a far stronger place now than I was then, but I also want to shore things up in advance since I've seen this break me before." Have been thinking about this, and how I too have used drink to numb pain. Recently came across these words from Annie Grace which resonate with me, and might with you as well, so sharing here. It's entitled, May you find comfort inside.

"Life can be challenging, and there are moments when we seek comfort and solace in various ways. It's when we find ourselves turning to alcohol for refuge that we must pause and reflect. Why would we choose this one method, no matter the situation, when the world offers a multitude of ways to soothe our souls?

You deserve comfort, it’s true, and your comfort should be as unique as you are. It should adapt to your needs, bringing peace and restoration to your very core. It should be a warm embrace for your heart and a sanctuary for your soul.

I encourage you not to settle for something that falls short of truly warming and restoring you. As you navigate the twists and turns of life's journey, remember that there is a world full of ways to find the comfort and solace you seek. Let your choices be guided by what truly nurtures and sustains you, allowing your heart and soul to flourish.

May you always find the comfort you deserve in the most genuine and fulfilling ways."

        Re: 26th Nov.

        Greetings everyone,

Not as cold here today, sunny & 52 degrees
Took advantage of the nice weather to run out & take care of some errands. This time tomorrow evening we will be taking my tons of crafty stuff to the venue & getting it all set up. The craft fair doors open bright & early 8 am on Saturday - that’s how these farmers roll haha.

Cyn, glad to see you checking in. I have. To agree with you that all the stores will be busy now until January I’m afraid. So many last minute items to be collected . I’m not surprised but glad to hear about the MRI results. The testing you need is more on the cognitive lines, maybe even an OT evaluation. I would think at this point people would be directed to a psychologist for appropriate testing. It sounds like you are doing great though keeping up with your busy schedule at work. So the craft fair is 2 days away, I’ll let you know how it goes. Take good care of yourself.

Mick, RIP to your friend. It’s hard. To say goodbye
I’m glad we didn’t have any snow yet, it’s just too soon for us historically. Your rabbits have the best comfort, lucky them. I feel bad about keeping these kittens in the garage but i’m afraid the dog or 2 of the older cats would pester them too much if I brought them inside. They curl up in a ball in front of the space heater & seem comfy enough.

Pie, thanks for posting Annie Grace’s thoughts. It’s true that we can find comfort from within in with a little practice.

        Wags, thinking of you!

PQ, hope the dinner went well.

Slo & Fly, hello to both of you.

Have a nice night all. I’ll post later tomorrow night after I’m home from setting up at the craft fair.

          Re: 26th Nov.

MAE ALL…it was a successful Christmas Dinner. It was catered by one our Preferred Vendors and after they delivered the food we were told it was on them. What a nice surprise. There was some beer and wine available, and I think 3 people had one drink. LOL

Mick…I have heard of black tac and would never have thought of WD40, brilliant. No arguments at the dinner, everyone enjoyed themselves and I was home by 7:30pm. When it came time to clean up the boss said nope, you always come in early and always stay late so just go home, so I did. LOL Our temps have been a lot cooler, our high today was -2. First time we’ve been below freezing this November. We’re still snow free and it looks like it’s going to continue. The skiers will just have to go closer to the mountains. No lingering effects from whatever that was on Sunday.

Slo…managed the Christmas dinner no problem. It was a traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables. Most of the leftovers came home with me tonight. LOL What an ordeal you’re going through and what a sappy reply about different leg lengths. No wonder the x-rays showed everything is still quite crooked. Hope you can get the orthotic adjusted with the lift. I’m sure that would help with some of the chronic pain.

Lav…you are absolutely right, they were talking about NPs. I am glad that I still have a family Dr. though, there’s just too much history to go through with a clinic walk in. I’m glad the kitten got some relief after taking her to the vet. Seems like vet visits are your second job. I bet it feels good to have everything packed up and ready to go. Will be watching for setup pics on FB. Time off over Christmas can’t come soon enough. A bit of a reprieve though, Boss is taking tomorrow and Monday off. Good luck with the setup tomorrow.

TG…it was a very tame party so there were no worries about getting through it. It was an “interesting” time for you to join up, go on in and it does sound like you’re getting a handle on things including handling your back-to-back days, well done. It does sound like the MRI is good news and I’ve never heard of a DMI test, will have to read up on that. I think signing up with the LC Clinic is the right step now.

Pi…thanks for sharing Annie Grace’s words. It certainly resonates with me too. Words to live by.

That’s all the news from me. Time to dig into the leftovers. Have a good night all…:smile:PPQP

                Re: 26th Nov.

Ooo, those ARE nice pics, Mick!
I need to get a heating pad for Boyd for the Winter -like how your rabbits have the radiator.
Now I’m the one up at 4 am! Hopefully I can catch a nap with Huxley today.
It is good to know that you have a cobbler in your village, since trying to find a “cobbler” in 2023 seems weird!

It sounds like a delicious dinner, PQ! I love those kind of leftovers. I just got to have them after our Thanksgiving! Bonus that the vendor treated you all, and Boss made sure it was a treat for you too rather than something you had to clean up after. I just thought it might be hard for you to attend coming off of an illness. But it was right after work, and right at work, so, easy that way. Interesting how little people had to drink!

Pie, good point that we do need to be mindful of finding new ways to comfort ourselves when distressed. And just to cope with daily life.

                  Re: 26th Nov.

Our snow of a few some days ago covered everything too. I love snow! It is most of the way melted now.

Aw, good that you got the kitten treated, Lav; so they will be adoption-ready! Maybe you could put a sign out with a photo of them on your table at the craft fair, to help find people who might adopt them? Today is the day (before the day!)! Grandson will be helping you tonight too, I assume.

TG, I thought about decorating my balcony too with greenery, lights, and a bow -like my mother the Queen of Holiday Decorating just did to her balcony in her new place -but then thought: nah!
You’re really getting baptism by fire by joining Trader Joe’s at this time of year!
It’s not so much the chronic pain that is concerning to me -annoying & limiting as it is. It’s more the severe neuropathy that I have descended into. One step further and it would be permanent partial paralysis! Even at this stage, I may well not get back full function. But, that sure is what I am hoping for, eventually.

I have a little Christmas tree up, and am enjoying the lights!

                    Re: 26th Nov.

                    Greetings all,

All set up for the craft fair, yay! Now I just need to get my butt there by 8 am for the start tomorrow morning. They always have food to purchase at these things & it’s always food I cannot eat. So I will be packing a lunch for us & probably do it tonight as I have to feed the zoo residents before I leave in the morning haha! Forgot to take pics but wil take some in the morning

PQ, glad you enjoyed your company dinner last night. If it was held on a weekend night do you think more people would have been drinking? Maybe we are silently rubbing off on others & changing their habits too. My sick kitten seems perfectly well now & is much more independent now that she feels better. Good you haven’t had snow yet, it can wait, right?

Mick, sounds like a good day to make soup. I like having some in t fridge to use for lunches
I got a 3-way tunnel for the kittens to play in & they are having a ball. Bob, now that he’s 6 months old seems to be a little confused by the thing Lol
Lovely pictures, thanks for posting them. Was that last one a drone shot showing the whole valley? Very pretty. Keep those bunnies happy & warm.

Slo, I haven’t done any holiday decorating yet. After this weekend I’ll get started I guess. My brain can only handle so many projects at a time these days.
Hope your Huxley day went well & you got your nap too

Hello to Cyn, Pie & Fly.

                      Re: 26th Nov.

                      Mae all -

Lav, I hope you are in bed and having a good sleep before your big day. I'll be thinking of you all day - I hope the sales are great! Good job on taking such good care of the kitten... maybe someone will take her for a lovely pet some day.

Mick, such wonderful pictures all - close ups and long shots alike, congrats. Such good news that you found the record you were looking for - and new! That's great. A wonderful part of your life.

SLO - I'm so sorry to hear of your diagnosis - hopefully something can be done to help before your foot goes numb - that sounds really hard to deal with. Sending support. Trader Joe's is open 7 days a week, and so there is always the possibility of working on a weekend. I generally work a weekend day... everything shifts each week.

PPQ - congrats on all your successes at work! And so wonderful that your Boss sees what you do and is kind. I love that he sent you home without having to deal with the end of the evening. And glad that you feel better from the weekend illness.

Pie - I love to hear about your decorating... maybe some pics? Enjoy the season...

Wags - thinking of you - hoping that all things are working out.

Well, the bad news is that I have Covid again. (On the MRI, they noticed that there was some signs of infection in my sinuses, but I didn't think much about that). I woke up this morning with constant sneezing. I don't know why I thought to do it, but I used a Covid test and... positive. I was just crushed. I did 2 more within about 30 minutes, and sure enough, positive. So I had to call into work (was supposed to work today and over the weekend) and let them know. They were cool with it... 5 days off, then back at work with a mask on (which I normally wear anyway.) But it's very disappointing... I'm hoping that it won't add to my already embattled brain... we'll see. In the meantime, I'm going through boxes of tissues like mad. I have plenty of soup and foodstuffs here, so I'm not even going to bother my family. Such a let-down though...

I let myself just watch programs on my computer this evening (I don't have a TV)... I found a wonderful BBC program that is about DNA testing... they have these people that want to know more about their family (one man was a WWII baby - his father an American, etc.). I learned about the interesting way DNA can be used to assist in finding family members that you didn't know you had... Mick do you know about this show? Fascinating.

Okay, time for me to sneeze my way to bed...
                      Wishing all well -
                      TG

hiya teegee ,hope you are feeling better today. The rules certainly differ from where you are to over here ..Now with what they call covid 23 ,if you feel well enough you can still go to work ,go out etc ..the emphasis now is on how you feel not the spreading of the virus.and their is no need for isolation..that said ,imo there should be middle ground between that and the strategies employed in 2019.Have you got over the sneezing?stay safe and look after yourself .

hiya Lav ...how are you doing today? best of luck with the craft fair ....I hope the response is good .nope none of the pics were drone shots .;I just managed to take it down the valley .We are actually in a valley ...from the bedroom window I see birds fly level and below us .Glad the kitten is ok .I had some of those tunnels for the rabbits ..they chewed holes in them!!!!hope your day goes well.

hiya slo...how are you today then? yep you now know there are 2 4 o clocks in the day!!did you sleep any better last night?stay positive ...you WILL get full function back ..

hiya ppqp ...I guess you are in weekend mode ...hope all is well and you have a good one ..

                          Re: 26th Nov.

                          Good evening folks,

Well the craft fair was a bit disappointing due to circumstances out of my control. The heavy fog that rolled in last evening was still here this morning & even now at almost 6 pm. I’m sure lots of people didn’t want to venture out & drive in this soup, ugh. I’d say I sold about 1/3 of what I usually sell at these fairs, oh well. I’ll pack it all away & bring it out again next year. They were selling raffle tickets & YB won a $25 gift card to one of the markets we like.

Cyn, I’m so sorry you have covid again. I’m fairly certain we will all experience a few cases until this stuff gets under control. Rest & get lots of fluids & drown that damn virus

Mick, I’d rather have some snow than all this stupid fog haha. Driving is a bit scary to be honest.
Stay home (and off ladders) while it’s so cold outside. At this age we really don’t have too many places we need to go, right? My younger grandson called me just as we were leaving the craft fair & said his mother said it’s OK for him to take one of the kittens. I’ll see if they actually show up haha.

PQ hope your weekend has started off well

Slo, any weekend plans for you or sticking close to home? Hope you are OK.

Hello to Pie, Fly & anyone else popping in later.
                          Have a nice night all.
