      Greetings friends,

Now I think I know what London fog is - geez! The weather people said we had 1/4 mile visibility but that must have been in Philly. Out here with all the fields still snow covered the visibility extremely poor but it didn’t stop me from going into town for a badly needed haircut. I can’t believe. The fools that drive around in this fog with no head/tail lights, ugh.

Cyn, no worries, the Vet gave me Gabapentin 50 mg tabs to sedate Sir David haha! He won’t know what hit him!
Looking forward to hearing your good news

Mick with all the walking you do & a healthy diet you should be losing weight without too much problem.
Glad the wind didn’t blow anything important away, Lol. How far did you get with the camera? I hope Julie enjoys the bread making process, it’s kind of addicting & you can only eat so much so you end up gifting it to others

Hello to PQ, Pie, Slo & everyone.
      Have a nice night all!

MAE ALL...sorry for not posting yesterday, too tired, too anxious, too worried, my mind just seems to be going in circles. Had a better day today making some headway with my programing, just got to ignore the accountant. Boss came into my office and said what was she on about now. Said she was talking about fall registration so I just not there yet, dealing with summer camp right now. Told the boss we need to get together and go over a few things (with the new program) and he asked me who should be included. Told him just him and Cheryl, lets deal with the financial/billing issues of the program so I can move on. Glass company was supposed to install today between 11-1, got home, no new window. The boys aren't around at the moment so I don't know what happened yet. Had a short talk with the boys yesterday about our living arrangement and youngest said he's financially able to take care of himself, just hasn't moved out because he feels I can't afford to live here. He can be so condescending sometimes. So with that in mind I'm going to work on my budget and see about moving into an apartment by myself. There are a few of them next to work so have to get onto it. Boys just got home, apparently the company had measured the window wrong so the sage of the window replacement continues.

Slo...sorry to hear the trip to the cobbler was a bust. Great news about the improvement in your extremities. I think continuing the treatments is the right way to go as long as you can afford it.

Pi...thanks, I checked my apps and actually had the messenger one, just needed to turn on notifications. I use Google Messages with work and coworkers and it wanted to be the default. Got it all sorted now.

Mick...it's early days yet and I think the first order of business is to see what the boys are thinking. Three people can live in the same space and not communicate at all. Here I was all concerned that I would be abandoning them so at least I feel better about moving forward. Another plus is some of the bridge group live in the next apartment complex (the more expensive ones) and get together for bridge all the time. YAY

Det...glad to see you're posting again. Not quite sure what's going on with you except I think I feel the same way you do. Was glad to read 50/50 excitement and almost-panic. I'm thinking a new opportunity has opened up for you.

Lav...lots of melting going on here too. Driving in this slush is dangerous but I think fog is the worst. I understand not using your high beams in fog but no lights is just ridiculous. Glad you were able to get your hair cut, that is a priority! You'll have to snap a pic of Sir David after he's sedated. LOL

TG...I always read the posts that show up as "unread" regardless of what thread they're on and am more than happy to plop them into the future. LOL Thanks for the positive good vibes, I'm going to need them. Glad to hear you've got some hope and good news from the post-Covid center. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Shout out to the rest of the gang. Time to unwind. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

Address Tae A Haggis - Robert Burns (1759-1796)

Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face,
          Great Chieftain o’ the Puddin-race!
Aboon them a’ ye tak your place,
          Painch, tripe, or thairm:
Weel are ye wordy of a grace
          As lang ‘s my arm.

The groaning trencher there ye fill,
Your hurdies like a distant hill,
Your pin wad help to mend a mill
          In time o’ need,
While thro’ your pores the dews distil
          Like amber bead.

          His knife see Rustic-labour dight,
An’ cut ye up wi’ ready slight,
          Trenching your gushing entrails bright,
          Like onie ditch;
And then, O what a glorious sight,
          Warm-reekin, rich!

Then, horn for horn, they stretch an’ strive:
Deil tak the hindmost, on they drive,
Till a’ their weel-swall’d kytes belyve
          Are bent like drums;
Then auld Guidman, maist like to rive,
          Bethankit hums.

Is there that owre his French ragout,
Or olio that wad staw a sow,
Or fricassee wad mak her spew
          Wi’ perfect sconner,
Looks down wi’ sneering, scornfu’ view
          On sic a dinner?

Poor devil! see him owre his trash,
As feckless as a wither’d rash,
His spindle shank a guid whip-lash,
          His nieve a nit;
Thro’ bluidy flood or field to dash,
          O how unfit!

          But mark the Rustic, haggis-fed,
The trembling earth resounds his tread,
Clap in his walie nieve a blade,
          He’ll make it whissle;
An’ legs, an’ arms, an’ heads will sned,
          Like taps o’ thrissle.

Ye Pow’rs wha mak mankind your care,
And dish them out their bill o’ fare,
Auld Scotland wants nae skinking ware
          That jaups in luggies;
But, if ye wish her gratefu’ prayer,
          Gie her a Haggis!

              Evening greetings friends

Warmer here today, 54 degrees but also damp, foggy & heavy rain approaching for overnight. At least we don?t have to shovel it haha!!!!

PQ, your own place, awesome!! I was going to suggest that but figured I should mind my own business. If you can swing it do it, honestly. Then you only have to clean up your own dirty dishes, Lol. Sorry your replacement window hasn?t been installed yet., what a hassle. Keeping the accountant out of your meetings sounds like a good plan. Peace first & foremost. I happen to have a pic of Dave & his mother Luna from this afternoon. I was searing a pork loin, getting it ready to put in the oven for dinner. I guess it smelled good or something Lol. There happened to be an empty box so that?s where Dave chose to sit!!
              IMG_6608.jpg

Mick, the haggis is a mythical creature to me. I guess I don?t quite get the history & importance. Your bird pics are pretty good, maybe you should get some bird video too

Hello to Cyn, Pie, Slo & everyone. Wishing a nice night for all!

MAE ALL...uneventful day which was nice, oh ya, the accountant was off. LOL

Mick...the Scouts group puts on a Robbie Burns Day dinner every year. You couldn't pay me to attend. LOL Still no window, the saga continues. I'm ok, not looking to be talking to bottles. Got a text from the landlord and he said he's not asking me to move, just wants to get an idea of our situation. So stress has gone way down. I now consider it a wake up call to deal with what my future is going to look like. Will have the talk with the boys and see exactly what they're thinking. Decent pics! Mick those are awesome.

Lav...we almost hit 54 here today too. Everything is melting like crazy. I haven't lived on my own for a long time, makes me a little nervous but can see the positives to it. I'm just glad I can take a breath and not stress over things. That's a cute pick of Luna and Dave, he looks so innocent.

Shout out to everyone else. Going to unplug and relax. Have a good night all....:smile:PPQP

mae all ...how are we doing?looks like we are back in the stormy season here ..the wind is blowing an absolute hooley here this morning .with the rain hammering down .We were going to go out for a walk this morning ..thats on hold at the moment .ok January is never a good month but this one seems to be crazy .

hiya Lav ...how are you doing?thats a belting pic of those 2.here you go ..like most of Scotlands history the haggis is steeped in myth and not accountable or attributable facts .

Haggis, national dish of Scotland | Historic UK.

In fact it was only popularised by Burns in his ode to a haggis ....another excuse to take an excess of the water of life ..hope you have a good weekend .

Was nice to see Pauly has got somewhere on fb .

hiya ppqp..how are you doing today?so no accountant and the seas are calm? I dont understand what your landlord is doing..he doesnt want you to move but wants to get an idea of the situation? what situation ..he has property ..he has tenants ..he is getting money from said parties..so whats the situation he wants to know ..I think you are right in treating it as a wake up call..and progress a plan b .No matter what you decide you will be fine ..

take care unplug the phone and have a great weekend

hiya everyone else hope you are all good .

Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one and let the other one off.

A woman tells her doctor, 'I've got a bad back.' The doctor says, 'It's old age.' The woman says, 'I want a second opinion.' The doctor says: 'Okay - you're ugly as well.'

'Doc, I can't stop singing the green green grass of home. 'That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome'. 'Is it common?' 'It's not unusual.'

A policeman stopped me and said: Would you please blow into this bag, sir? I said: What for, officer? He said: My chips are too hot.

Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bullshit before.

A dyslexic man walks into a bra.

I used to be indecisive but now I am not quite sure

A man walks into doctor's office. "What seems to be the problem?" asks the doc. "It's ... um ... well ... I have five penises." replies the man. "Blimey!" says the doctor, "How do your trousers fit?" "Like a glove."

Two cannibals eating a clown. One asks the other, 'Does this taste funny to you?'

I inherited a painting and a violin which turned out to be a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius. Unfortunately, Rembrandt made lousy violins and Stradivarius was a terrible painter.

Our ice cream man was found lying on the floor of his van covered with hundreds and thousands. Police say that he topped himself.

You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said 'Parking Fine.'

So I went to the Doctor's yesterday. He said, "What appears to be the problem?" I said, "I keep having this dream, night after night, beautiful girls rushing towards me and I keep pushing them away." He said, "How can I help?" I said: "Break my arms."

A friend of mine drowned in a bowl of muesli. A strong currant pulled him in.

A blind bloke walks into a shop with a guide dog. He picks the Dog up and starts swinging it around his head. Alarmed, a shop assistant calls out: 'Can I help, sir?' 'No thanks,' says the blind bloke. 'Just looking.'

I had a ploughman's lunch the other day. He wasn't very happy.

I backed horse last week at ten to one. It came in at quarter past four.

I've been on the whisky diet - I've already lost three days!

I went window shopping today! I bought four windows.

My dog was barking at everyone the other day. Still, what can you expect from a cross-breed.

A guy walks into a pub with a lump of asphalt on His shoulder, He says to the bar man give us a pint and one for the road.

A man walked into the doctor's, The doctor said 'I haven't seen you in a long time' The man replied, 'I know I've been ill'.

I cleaned the attic with the wife the other day. Now I can't get the cobwebs out of her hair.

So I knocked on the door at this bed & Breakfast and a lady stuck her head out of the window and said: 'What do you want', I said, 'I want to stay here'. She said, 'Well stay there' and shut the window.

Doctor, I can't pronounce my F's, T's and H's.” “Well you can't say fairer than that then

                    Re: jan 21

                    Greetings,

I survived the two weeks leading up to the full moon, and happy to be on the other side now. It was mostly indigestion problems this time; finally not as much fatigue and depression. Maybe because I added in a supplement called “Sciatic-ease”, which must be just the right mix of B vitamins. And also I added extra potassium and magnesium.

Lav, you can sure tell Dave and his mother are related!
I’m trying to ride my indoor bike too, but being hampered by knee pain. I tried to do 24 minutes today, but it felt like too much for the dumb fake knee, so will probably drop down to 18 or 20 minutes. At least I’m up from only 12-15 minutes!

PQ, well, at least it sounds like you have some time and breathing room before the potential move. I like how you’re looking at it; as a chance to reassess if you want to keep living with your sons or not. And with youngest son’s attitude -maybe not. You & Determinator are in the same boat right now!

Mick, I‘ll have to read the jokes and about haggis later, as I’m heading up to D1’s house as Cooper is really sick. I was supposed to be hanging with Huxley & D2 today, but will go where the greater need is.
Love the birds in flight over water photos!

                    Happy Friday to all!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

                      Greetings friends,

Still looks like London here, damp & foggy but the temps have been mild. We’re meeting daughter & her crew for dinner tomorrow to celebrate their two January birthdays, granddaughter’s is in February. Not much else going on at the moment.

PQ, it’s almost beach weather, haha! Enjoy it while it lasts
I’m glad you’re not going to be forced into moving immediately. But like you said, it gives you a chance to plan for the future. There’s nothing wrong with that. I would think your kids would want to be out on their own. Hell would have to freeze over before one of mine wanted to return, Lol

Mick, I do understand about the hoops people had to go thru to preserve food back in the dark ages. But that particular meal is just a big NO for me haha!!!
We both have had a damp winter so far, we’re getting more rain on Sunday too. Good time to catch up on reading or something I guess.

Slo, I hope Cooper is OK  and I hope yo don’t catch anything from him either.
I think whatever time you can tolerate on the bike has to be helpful to your overall health. I just slightly increased the tension on mine a few days ago but not enough to hurt my knees. I’m chicken & want to preserve what I have left.

Hello to Cyn, Pie & everyone.
I was so happy to see Pauly on FB today posting 1 year AF & NF!!! I hope she plans to drop in & visit us soon.

                        Re: jan 21

MAE ALL...finally this week is over. There was so much drama at work today, thought the accountant and boss were going to come to blows. Thankfully none of it involves me so I'm just keeping my head down. Programing for Summer Camps is almost complete, doing a test run on Tuesday.

Mick...did you ever get out of the stormy season? I think the landlord is still figuring out what his plans are for this year. I do believe he doesn't want to cause a lot of grief but he has his own life decisions to make. It's time for the boys and me to sit down have an honest talk about what everyone is thinking. I've decided just to worry about myself.

Slo...sorry to hear Cooper is really sick, I hope he doesn't pass anything onto you. I always figured I can't move out, what would they do? Apparently that was false thinking on my part. Now that I'm debt free and finally making a decent wage I have options. Will have a chat with the boys over the weekend then work out a new budget and see what I can afford. I won't miss all the stairs in this condo.

Lav...sorry you're still getting the damp & fog. We're going to be in double digit highs all next week, hope our hockey rink holds up. Then come February it's back to normal temps with snow. Hopefully it's won't be anything like the deepfreeze we just went through. It'll be nice to get together with your daughter and crew tomorrow, hope the fog lifts for you. I think it's more the kids want me out on my own. LOL I did move in with them when I came back to Calgary with nothing and no job. When that all turned around and they weren't working I couldn't possibly walk out on them. So now it's time to get a clear picture of where things stand and what the next steps are. I'm glad to hear that Pauly is posting again, I often think of her.

                            Good evening friends,

Just got back from the birthday dinner with the family, had a nice time
We had a few peeks of sunshine today, now waiting for the overnight rain to start.

PQ, sounds like you had a pretty intense day yesterday, hope your weekend is a bit more relaxed.
I think your kids will do just fine on their own. They’re both older now & hopefully more mature. Our winter is far from over but i don’t see any snow or ice in our long range forecast so I’m happy

Mick, sorry to hear your fence had weather damage although not really surprised considering all the rain & wind you’ve had there. Hope you can get it fixed & keep the rabbits safe. Enjoy yor visit with Amy, sounds nice.

Hello to Cyn,Slo, Pie & everyone.

                            Have a nice night all!
