MAE ALL...got out to do some running around, including a haircut, before the arrival of the deepfreeze. In for the rest of the day just doing chores.

Mick...thanks for kicking us off this week. Are you sure you're at home? No rain! Can't believe you're working in the garden. Hope the frost doesn't affect anything you did in the garden.

Waves to everyone else. May pop back to see how your day was. Have a good one....:smile:PPQP

      Re: 25 Feb

      Good evening everyone,

Sunny with temps in the mid-40s today. Still too chilly to really be doing anything in the gardens besides looking at them haha.
Made a vegan lasagne today (for me mostly) & roasted a chicken (mostly for YB) so I have some leftovers to start the week. Tomorrow is my granddaughter’s 13th birthday, still waiting to hear when we can get together for dinner & gifts. Time flies!

Mick, glad you finally got to see the sun, about time
When are you leaving on your trip to London? Sounds like a good time ahead for you two.

PQ, Congrats on the haircut, I know how vital they are, LOL
I hope the cold weather event is short lived. I think we’re all ready for a real taste of spring.

Hello to Cyn, Slo & Pie, thinking of you all!

      Have a nice night everyone!

        Mae all,

Good Sunday night to you all.

Mick, so sorry to hear about Amy - that would be so traumatic, to hold your animal after an accident, uugh. How is she feeling? Did I imagine it, or did you tell us that she is pregnant?... Honestly, with my mind I could have imagined it...I hope she is feeling well. Good luck with the car and all. Sounds like you are all set for your London trip, nice.

SLO - I hope things are going well - you are probably off to swim meats or babysitting or something... you always keep yourself busy.

And Lav - you are always baking or making something delicious! I have gotten more interested in food recently - since i'm now "feeding" my elder friend. I hope your spring is kind to all the lovely plants that are ready to come greet you.

PPQ - I watch Rescue videos so much (too much) on FB... you are such a hero to do that work. Thank you! How are things? How is the weather there - you must be having spring ahead of the rest of us.

Hello to Sam, Det, Fly and everyone who stops by -
        TG

PPQ - so glad to hear that you protected your weekend! Sorry about the snow... but it is good to know that we are headed out of winter, right? Though often March can be a snowy month. Whatever... we basically breezed through this winter. I am enjoying the longer days already.

Did I say that the granddaughter left her with no reasonable food in the house for 2 days? On hearing this, the daughter I am closest to (and who pays the bills) basically fired the granddaughter and hired me for the meals. (I probably said all of this previously - sorry.) Anyway, I am not cooking much, but I am bringing in great prepared food and mixing it with some homemade stuff. I am sure that I will eat better also. If she doesn't particularly like something, (I asked her to tell me truly) I'll eat it! Her daughter told me that she is sounding better on the phone - more perky.

          Re: 25 Feb

          Hello all,

Sorry to fall behind; I’ve been in a funk. And so tired & feeling depressed & irritable. Hopefully that will be better now that the full moon is over. Hopefully I can sleep again too. I have been waking up (and not falling back to sleep) at 4 am every morning lately.

The water park fell through, but we (D1 & her kids) met up at a YMCA with a nice pool, then went out to lunch at a fun place with a game room that the kids enjoyed. Then I went to their house for a few more hours, to help her catch up with some housework, and spend some more time with the kids. Little Cooper turned 1 years old last week! He likes to bat me away when I try to kiss him. That’s a fun game that makes him smile.

Well, I need to go to the place that I’m going to for treatment in order to get treatment with the high-powered lasers to my low back and neck and near knee. They don’t have those everywhere. And I need chiropractic manipulation to try to break up the fusion in my lumbar spine.
It would be wonderful if I could adapt without the various lifts in my shoe! I sure hope the other guy is right.

PQ, good boundaries on realizing that you are not the one to be working casino night.
You have to brush off the car in bitter weather tomorrow morning, but then you get a Doug-free day!

TG, so strange that your parents died on the same calendar day. Sorry about the feelings of not doing enough. I know how it is; I have a lot of guilt around my deceased parent too, for not being there enough for him. At least you always visited frequently while they were alive, and probably local family was around to help before their deaths.
That was thoughtful of you to give your plants moonlight! They must thrive under your care.

Mick, I’m struggling with my car too. Took it in for new wheels & such a couple weeks ago, and it hasn’t been working right since then. So had to take it back in this week. They kept emphasizing that the wheel bearings that they replaced were free due to being under warranty. Yah, I hope so -since you just put them in two weeks ago!
That is so sad about Amy’s cat.

Lav, we don’t want the cats on the cat pillow!
Such good news about YB’s stellar vision after cataract surgery.
I don’t care that ex-HB took his GF to St. Thomas. It’s a business trip for his industry that centers around drinking, and I don’t fit in anymore. My mobility problems could get in the way of him enjoying his trip too.

          Tomorrow is a new week!

              Good evening friends,

Sunny & 60 degrees today, nice . I went out & cleared out my herb garden, need some new plants this year. My lower back, knees & hips all screamed at me while doing this work, haha! Getting old ain’t easy kids!!!

Cyn, it’s sad that the granddaughter failed in her job. How can anyone not feed someone for two days? That’s just awful. Glad you were able to step in & help. I was thinking if you picked up a rotisserie chicken you could make meals for both of you for several days. Do the supermarkets offer ‘Meal Deals’ out your way? That would be another good way to feed you both without having to do all the work. Take good care of yourself

Slo, sorry your plans fell thru but it sounds like you found something fun to do. The little ones have no idea, they have fun everywhere.
Did you get your laser treatment today? Hope it went well & you have good results. Hope the car problems sort themselves out too!!!

Mick, I think I’m actually going to wash my car tomorrow too, sure needs attention with all the road salt & dust on it Lol
We’re supposed to have a big storm Wednesday evening, rain & windy conditions but that’s better than snow. No party today, have to wait until the weekend I think. Bet you’re anxious. To get on the road & out of town

PQ & Pie, hello to both of you & hope yo are well.

              Have a nice night everyone!

MAE ALL...popped out at 9:30am to get a breakfast sandwich, the boss had come in to do payroll. Next thing I knew it was 4:30pm! Once again dealing with booking request, never did get to the summer camp registration procedures. Tomorrow I'm not opening my email till I've finished the procedures.

TG...hardly any snow last night and what I got was the light fluffy kind, only on one side of my car so just used my coat sleeve to wipe it off. LOL Glad the granddaughter got fired but sorry it got dumped on you. Yes, it get to drive home in the daylight, now I just need the sun to come up earlier.

Slo...nice recovery on the cancelled waterpark plans, I'm sure the kids had fun. It was basically a Doug Free day and no drama in sight.

Mick...read so I washed my car and van...and thought bet it rained. LOL Yup, it was a good weekend, got my sleeping sorted out so had much more energy for this morning and there was no madness. Madness should resume tomorrow as both boss and accountant will be in. LOL Just as well you can wait and get everything done with the car at the same time.

Lav...wondered why we are going to be above freezing on Wednesday, now I know, it'll be visiting you. LOL Will have to see how much snow we get tonight, hope it's no more than what we got last night. I managed to get my car washed before the cold snap hit, couldn't see out the windows anymore.

Shout out to everyone else. Have a good night all.....:smile:PPQP

                  Mae all,
At work at 6 AM to 2 PM. Came home and stretched, then picked up a few items my elder needed. Had picked up a frozen dish at TJs which loked good - we put it in the oven, and I chatted with her while it baked - I plated it and said goodbye - she texted me later to say it was delicious (she’s 97!). I’m

Have rested a bit this evening, but for some reason my brain is jumping all over the place, spinning. So I’m off to try to rest.

SLO, good luck, take heart, these days are sometimes hard. Thanks for checking in. Mick, good luck with the car and the rain and everything. Lav, so glad to hear that you are looking for green in your garden. PPQ, I hope that have both Doug and the Acct there didn’t make it a hectic Monday!

                  Wishing all well,

                      Greetings everyone,

Laughing at the BP station Mick, Lol
Sunny & nice again this morning but the clouds rolled in after lunch, getting some rain now so my car never got washed, oh well. I have a few pillows to do for someone so that’s where I’ve been for a while.

Mick, guess I’m keeping the dirty car for a while longer, no big deal. YB’s black truck looks beige it has so much salt & mud on it haha.
My herb garden has grown many things over the years right now I have a rosemary ‘plant’ that’s the size of a Christmas tree, it’s huge. I cut away half of it yesterday & put it in the burn pile, will smell good when it burns. The rosemary grew over my Greek oregano, tarragon & a few other plants so I will pick up new ones when they’s available at the Amish greenhouses. I usually put two large pots of parsley out there, one for me & one for the monarch caterpillars (they love it). I have sage & lemon balm in there & two types of thyme. Basil grows so big I put that elsewhere.
Don’t wash anything else until you get back from your trip, save your energy.

Cyn, sounds like your elder appreciates your effort, that’s nice.
I was looking online at some patches you can useb to tame the monkey mind. I need to do some more reading about them, they’re natural, herbal. We can all use a little help in that department.

PQ, we’re being threatened with 45 mph winds & rain storms tomorrow as a cold front moves in. Thanks so much HA HA!
Sounds like you’re as busy as ever at work, hope there wasn’t much drama today.

Hello to Slo & Pie, hope all is well.

                      Have a nice night everyone.

MAE ALL...what a difference a day makes! I only had 2 emails in my inbox. YAY Boss ended up not coming in today, another YAY. Spent all day working on my New Summer Camp Registration procedure. No interruptions so I got it all done. It was a frightful -21C/-6F overnight but not much snow. High today was only -19C/-2F and although we're going down to -21C again tonight, tomorrow's high is 7C/45F. Unbelievable.

TG...sounds like the frozen dish from TJs was a hit. Good on her for being able to text. Hope you were able to get some rest last night.

Mick...sounds like your ready to head out on Sunday. Great pic, so glad you got the lens back.

Lav...you're most welcome. LOL The wind was so strong the night before son figured there was someone walking around on the roof at midnight. No drama today, it was actually quite lovely. I'd be interested in the patches to tame the monkey mind too.

Oh, I have been so sick the last few days! I am so achy and weak and in pain. NyQuil has been my friend.

Mick, that is shocking that the social worker would consider Julie’s dad a candidate for living alone! That ship passed!! Just shocking.
                            80% Irish is Iris! Cute.

PQ, glad you were blessed with a drama-free day so you could focus in on getting the new Summer Camp registration procedure done.

TG, you found a good way to both feed your elder and have time to chat with her. Sad that the granddaughter can’t be relied on.
Good job remembering that Amy is pregnant; I had forgotten.

My cat is puking and pooping everywhere! I am so sick of this! I want to be a pet-free person.

Today I am going to try acupuncture again, to try to help with my pain and paralysis and peripheral neuropathy.
I agree, Lav: getting old ain’t easy!

                              Greetings friends,

Gray & damp all day, ugh. Makes me ache just looking out the window. The high winds that have been wreaking havoc from the mid-west all the way to Ohio should be here soon. It’s our turn I guess. The temp is dropping into the 20’s tonight, strange after this mild spell.

PQ, glad you had a productive day at work yesterday. It’s amazing how much you can actually accomplish when there’s no A-holes in your face haha.
So who was walking on the roof overnight? That’s freaky!!!

Mick, my DIL is a social worker, one of the reasons YB can’t be in the same room with her, LOl. The PD dealt with them regularly & he’s still angry about it, haha. They are full of ‘knowledge’ & great ideas that are all BS. Of course your FIL can’t live on his own. Tell Julie to give them a detailed history & list of reasons why the man isn’t capable of caring for himself. It’s all ridiculous, it happens over here too!!

Slo, sorry you’re not feeling well. These winter viruses are brutal. My daughter & her family have one now as well.
Sorry Boyd is having problems too. YB’s ancient rescue cat get likes that too. He keeps threatening to take her out & shoot her, of course. He wouldn’t
I hope the acupuncture is helpful

Hello to Cyn & Pie & anyone else stopping by later.

                              Have a nice night all!
