Wow Judie, Sounds like you had it bad. I am feeling very thankful this morning that we only had a minor flood in our basement. Even homes a few blocks away had huge flooding and pipes break and sewage backing up in their toilets and going all over their house. Yuck. The winds are kicking up again tonight but I think the rain has stopped for now.

Lorelei, try and take some supps. The cycle happens because our brains are used to being fed alcohol at a certain time each day. Believe me I get the struggle and it annoys me as well. You can do it.

Well Modsters I made it home safe and sound without my wine stop. I got involved in a conversation with my boss and forgot completely about the urge. Once I got home I set to work on my soup and finding out why my new automatic cat box was spazzing out. I got the catbox fixed (too much litter). The soup is divine!!!! Its got curry powder in it and I can still smell it upstairs in the office. Lunch is going to kickass for the rest of the week!

Lush - retraining the brain around "drinking" time is essential. I think I might start hitting the local Barnes & Noble after work when I feel the need to go out. Of course there is the danger that I will spend more money at the bookstore than I ever did at the bar - something about the smell of new books drives me mad.

I wanted to jump over and say hi and catch up with you. I can empathize deeply with that daily broken promise to not drink, or to just have one or two.

Cowgal, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Judie and Lushy, I am so glad that you came through the storm in pretty decent shape. I've been thinking about the two of you and that horrible storm. Everyone who works at the Weather Channel has practically been wetting their pants with excitement at such a big storm.

Sammys, Lorelei, ducky, PP, Cindi, and Prest, it's good to see you all. I don't usually have time to read over here, but I can see that you al continue to be a pretty fun bunch. Keep up the good work!

Lushy I did hear on the news that the storm we had was moving northeast. I sure hope it misses you!
Sorry about your flooding. Hope it dries soon.
We just got our roof patched last week...

We are used to it blowing hard here on the coast but that was WAYY more than usual.

We have plenty of trees around here! You don't even have to cut em down! Just drive along the road & untangle them from the powerlines!
