    good morning!

    Hey Waves and all who follow, hope you all have a wonderful day.................

    Nothing too much to post except my knee is taking a backslide in the healing department, last night at physical therapy, I couldn't do 1/2 of my exercises, cuz to bend it in the least little bit hurt enough to produce tears!!!:upset: YEP, almost literally cried a few times, what a BABY!!! BUT the pain was very excruciating!!!!

    Enough of my crybabying!!! Everyone, whatever your goals, have a WONDERFUL day!!!

      Good morning Waves, Cowgal and Modsters,

      Great news this morning -- my labs came back "perfect." I know from researching the issue though that we can do damage to our livers w/o it showing up on the liver panel. So I made a promise to myself that even if I got good results I was going to work harder at mods/af to ensure my liver stays healthy. I am relieved though!

      Waves, I have never made it but heard a lot about it. I will have to look up some recipes and make it for you (and me).

      Hope everyone is doing well!

        Waves, lovely to see you this morning all chipper!

        Cowgal, I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I am a baby too when it comes to being uncomfortable especially over an extended period of time. Hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel I know but, hang in there girl! You are doing great. Play some blackjack for me in Vegas!

        Ducky, if you do come across receipes please post them in the receipe thread. I bought some and only have the one way to prepare it with shitake mushrooms and leeks. I just bought some and was going to experiment tonight. I'm no chef so, I might have to enlist hubby's help.

        Everything is great with me. My energy levels are starting to increase. I attempted to get back in the saddle and got on the elipticle yesterday. After 20 mins I thought I would die. I am still AF day 5.
        Sometimes I wonder...."Why is that frisbee getting bigger?"...and then it hits me.

          PP, Day 5 AF, well done .......

          My day didn't start so well, had to drive 30 miles in really cold weather without a window in the car, and then had to sit for 3 hours while they got round to fitting the new one .....

          But on a lighter note, other than my slimming class I'm officially on holiday!!!!! Yay ............ Off to manchester on sunday then flying to orlando on monday

            Ducky, so glad your tests came out OK.. and FYI I hit the mother load of receipes for quiona (sp?) under "Holistic Healing" thread under the title " Miracle Food" Be patient as it is like 15 pages

                Hello all.
                I was snooping around and came across this Tread, I'm still very new (today is my official day 2 on this site) and 2nd day AF (alc. free - is this what is stands for?)...So many abbreviations I might start making my own definitions ...would someone be so kind please tell me little bit more about Moderation...what goals are set, are there any guidelines? For begineers I have learned so far is "don't make plans, take moment/day at the time" - how is moderation different? ..Sorry if there is an obvious answer to this, but I'd like to know more.

                  Hi there My Choice and welcome:welcome: Good for you, day 2 AF :goodjob: (you were right it means alcohol free)

                  Moderation means different things to different people, but you will find your niche and what works and doesn't work for you

                  I, frankly am aiming for Mon-Thurs AF then to moderate on weekends, am in a little bit of a situation right now where I feel like drinking (MODERATELY!! Compared to how I used to drink!!) just about every day, have made a couple commitments, but haven't stuck w/ them...........this doesn't mean it is the path you will take, you already have 2 AF days!!

                  Try to get 30 if you can, that is (I think) what the book recommends. (don't have my book right now to refer to...............feel helpless there, sorry) but someone here will set you straight, I am sure of it.................

                  Good luck and keep posting and let us know how you are doing!!

                    The book you are mentioning (I aslo saw someone mentioned it also) where can I get one?
                    Thank you and sorry for endless questions.

                    My current goal is to be AF M-F, and hopefuly adjust my consumption on Weekends. ...30 although is a great idea and certainly something to look forward to, is a little to much to ask of myself right now as I'm sure I will not be able to deliever.

                      Go to the Home Page look on the left hand side....Buy the Books...you can order under Amazon, Barnes and Noble or download (which is what I did..very easy)

                      The more tools the better. I started out reading the book...reading and posting...taking the supps (have re-ordered several times) and listened to the hypno cds for the 1st month straight....now I use them on and off.

                          hi all was just checking the calendar making sure it's still the 30th.

                          not much to report on I didn't feel like drinking the bottle of wine I bought last night, I left it unopened on my kitchen table. I think that means that I am not a drunk right??? yipeee.

                          well cowgal get better pain is no fun.
                          and my choice welcome . moderating is a hard one to explain.
                          some people say no more than one drink in one sitting,

                          others say lots of Alcohol free days in between drinking ones, but not getting super drunk.

                          I think that drinking slowly and not making it the center of everything, or being impulsive about a drink or two or more and remaining hangover free is moderation.


                          the book does clarify the description of moderation better than I do.

                            Cowgal- I'm sorry to hear your your knee's giving you so much pain.(it must be a "male knee"...did they give you a transplant? LOL)Sorry bad joke. I just find that whole gender incredibly frigging LAME at the moment... "If they can put a man on the moon...why not ALL of them?"

                            PP- I need to get back in the saddle & on my elipticle again too. I've been slacking,...haven't been feeling too great since getting home from my trip. Think I need to just kick my own butt & do it for me.

                            Well as much as I hate whining & sniveling I'm gonna unload a bit here...
                            I've been in a bit of a funk since returning from my road trip. I know it's my own fault for being too sensitive, but geez... every once in a Blue Moon, it would be nice to feel appreciated & have a little romance in my life. Right now I feel like I'm 47 going on 105!(at least as far as our marriage goes...) Physically, I feel like a kid. I stay in shape, and work out, & take care of myself.
                            When I left the house for Arizona I left a note under his pillow, one on the bathroom mirror, one in the fridge... etc.
                            Brought home little gifts.

                            Then to be told I'm taking time away from his golf game to come pick me up @ the airport...after not seeing each other for a week...Good thing it was storming! Although I did meet a guy on the plane I could've got a ride with... almost wish I'd taken it!

                            I'm not a high maintenance woman. But once in a while... it would be nice to have a little consideration. I'm starting to think I need a wife to take care of me!:H

                            The other night I came home from work & he asked me what I'd brought him. Tell me I didn't want to give him a knuckle sammich!
                            Sorry this is so long.

                              Hey Judie, I have taken milk thistle but not as regularly as I should. I am seeing a chiropractor who does a nutritional analysis using a machine that identifies your weak organs using acupuncture energy points, and I am thinking of having that done. Just don't know if I can afford all the supplements because we pay so much for the supps our doggie takes!

                              Sorry to hear that you are so frustrated. I totally understand. With some men you have to actually spell out what you need. (Sorry if I offend any guys here.) Some men are romantic, and some just don't know what to do. Have you tried sitting with him and telling him you need to feel appreciated, and giving him some CONCRETE ideas how to accomplish such?

                              Just a thought...
