    Tuesday 2/19 Where is everyone ?????

    Good afternoon all, I have never started a thread before, well, here goes. I hope everyone is doing well today and achieving their goals. I made it AF last night and hope to the rest of the week. Tues, the hubby and I do dinner out and I'm already fighting that should I or should'nt I voice. Maybe I'll set some rules for myself (again). One glass slowly with dinner and AF wine when I get home. Thats always the hard part, once I have one my will power is shot. No big news to all of you. Someone send some sunshine my way as it is 15 degrees and snowing here. Best to you all

    hi there .. kat20. here some warm air your way from florida. and great job keep it up .you can do it without al and enjoy the day in side. it sounds too cold for me.

      No sunshine in Scotland

      Hi,

      It's pretty chilly in Scotland too! I'm new here but looking for some good old fashioned advice re moderation. Can anyone help??

        Hi Whiterose, I wish I had some good advice on moderation. I have tried and failed several times. They say the ideal way is to go 30 days AF, and then try to moderate. Problem is when I go AF can't stop obsessing about when I can have a drink. So I try mods, but sometimes I go hog wild once I start as my will power is shot. Some people can never learn to moderate, I guess its just in you that way. There is a ton of advice here on for what ever you decide. You can try supps, meds, hypnosis. Heck, try it all. My self its really alot in my head. Yes all the the previous can be benefical, but no one thing works for everyone. At this time I am on supps, and plan to try hypnosis. I'm giving mods another try. Always keep trying, its better than not at all. Best to you,

          Tuesday 2/19 Where is everyone ?????

          It's in the mid 40's in Utah today, supposed to be in mid 50's by Saturday then snowing on Sunday!
          Just sitting here at work..lunch break..catching up on everybody! Hope all are doing well!
          We've been pretty busy at our house, trying to put our kitchen back together after the remodel! So much fun to find new palces to put everything..but then I have to re-train myself as to where to look to find it all! YIPPEE!

            Hi everyone ... just want to add to the Mods numbers.
            I'm starting to look forward to autumn - yesterday again was around 94, lots of mosquitos during the night - I'm sort of over summer. Would like to sleep under the duvet again!!

            Apart from that - all's well in this neck of the woods.

              Anyway, we are back home and freezing cold but the good news is that mum has cooked a gorqeous casserole that I only have to reheat .......

                Tawnyfrog, I'll gladly trade you my down comforter for your sunshine. Thats whats pretty cool about this website, to hear how it is all over the world while sitting at my computer. BHOG, I've been reading your posts about kitchen remodel. Glad to hear your almost done. We did that about 3 years ago. I had my frig in the hall, my dishes in the bath tub and a two burner hot plate for about 4 months. Working on the master bath now since Oct, just got to use the new potty yesterday. BB, sorry you had to come home to the cold, hopefully spring is around the corner.

                  Tuesday 2/19 Where is everyone ?????

                  Hello Everyone! I've been busy studying. It's getting down to the wire for me to meet my goal of taking this darn certification test by the end of Feb. I guess that is one reason I haven't drank at all lately is I'm just too busy!


                  When I got to work at 6am Tuesday morning, there was a woman from the Monday night shift still there. Her car doors had frozen shut and when she finally got in her car it wouldn't start. She couldn't get anyone to help her. It was 1am so everyone she called just had an answering machine on or they said they couldn't help her. There were no tow trucks available, 4" of snow that night and I'm sure they were busy pulling cars out of ditches.

                  I was able to jump start her car along with the help of the maintenance guys who were outside clearing the snow from the parking lot. Did I mention the wind chill was -15f this morning? I felt awful for her to be stuck at work from 1am - 6am all alone!

                  That was quite a start to my morning!
