Hey Betty!

I'z here! And doing fine - well, great! Incredibly blessed.....as mods was where I not only wanted to be but thought I could be. And yet the months of real fear around feeling that might be mere presumption and that everybody was 'laughing at my kidding myself about it' and 'one day I'd come out of denial' and, and, and....

And yet, I always knew that each of us has to find our own path and that mine would be mine and 'yours' would be 'yours' and I was so proud to be on this path with so many incredibly brave and beautiful people finding their own way... If I couldn't mod after all, well, so be it but I could and I can...

I am truly back to where I was most of my life....a max glass a day (now with soda; tastes too strong without!!!) and I don't want any more. Before a meal and when I have eaten it tastes ugh! So I then enjoy soda with lemon.....

And today, (Too - Da - Too!!!!) is exactly one year sober.....

It's funny, but because I am modding and not AF, I have to look at that statement and remember to still feel really good! It's still a whole darned year without once being pickled or even tipsy or have a hint of a hangover.! WOW! Aren't I just the luckiest bod?!

So, BB.....thanks. Six months AF and six months mods. And a huge thanks to RJ! And everyone for the support and space to find my self!

I hope there are a few more to post here for you BB. I guess we're perhaps aware of how 'careful' we must be about posting and tempting something less than happy for those who aren't so lucky...? And yet, it was the modding boards that gave me the hope and strength to just get those 6 months AF under my belt before trying but to believe it was possible....

good morning all Mods.......

FMS.....I too have been moderating well over the last 8 months. With a couple 30 day af thrown in for confidence. Coming to MWO has helped me change my mindset, of course, I was stubborn at first. Changing the "friend set" came next. Once you strip away the AL some of my "friends" were poorly chosen.

So, today will be another great day. Working around the house and not worrying about how I ended up here but excited about where I'm going.

I hope all other Mods are happy today.....

Please keep this thread going, all. I am so inspired to see successful moders, since that is my goal. After seeing other postings on this site, I too thought others would think I am kidding myself that I can go there. The hope of moding after a stretch of AF time is what attracted me to this site in the first place. There should be a way of celebrating success in moding. Finding my self, "a whole darned year without once being pickled or even tipsy or have a hint of a hangover" is amazing. I would love to be able to say that in a year, and since this site kept me AF for 14 Days (I know pretty short in the scheme of things), I'm hoping this thread can help me moderate for life.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say that so many MWOers have told me that moderating would not be possible for me. But I have not given up and have been moderatoring with success and am so happy. This is what I wanted and why I was inspired by RJ's book. It is so nice to be able to enjoy an adult beverage with friends in a normal controlled way.

And we modsters deserve too celebrate our successes!!!!!! GREAT WORK EVERYONE!!!!

BB - thanks for starting this thread! I too am moderating fairly successfully - getting some more AF days under my belt as well but modding is my goal!

I agree Croft - it's nice to have an adult beverage in a normal controlled way! I love it!

Maisie - well done you! 14 days is brilliant and 14 days closer to your goal..... All I can suggest is that it does seem as if a really good 60-100 days AF is needed for successful modding on average... (Only want you to have the best success here and not lecturing or sounding a bit depressing! But 14 becomes 15 - 20 - 30 - 60 - 90 - 120 day by day by day by day.....so you go for it!!!)
