    Mindless drinking

Last night, I thought about having two glasses of wine while reading on the front porch. Instead, I just kept pouring, until my husband called me out. He said "you're drunk, you're slurring your words." I felt like such a loser hearing those words. I'm thinking that I need to go AF for awhile. The supps are hard to keep up with and I really haven't been consistent. I enjoy the whole cocktail culture so much; it's such a part of my lifestyle with friends and whatnot but I have also slid into this mindless drinking alone in the evening. I wish I could keep it to one or two but once I get going, it takes on a life of it's own. I feel like I've turned a corner with the amount of alcohol increasing. I used to be able to limit myself, now I crossed a line and feel less and less control. It's scary. Help!

    Hang in there...

:finger2:Hey sweetie. I just want to share what seems to be working for me as I am trying to moderate. I'm new here so you may have tried this out already. I have been to weight watchers a million times and they always talk about planning ahead. I never used that strategy until since I have tried to moderate. Anyway, I promised myself to NEVER drink ALONE again. That is when I have the most trouble. Also, I tell the person that I am drinking with what my limit is (and I make sure the love me and understand my problem). The person with me makes sure that I don't go over the limit, no matter how badly I beg for it. :finger2: It seems to have worked ok for me. Maybe these suggestions will help you. Its kinda hard to stop but I amaze myself more every day.

      Hello and :welcome:

Yeah, no kidding. Good thing you recognise it because it can get worse. There are people here to help you along from the bottom of the ladder to way up top. People who have been AF for a LONG time. I'm sort of near the bottom so I'm just trying to help you out a bit. Really try to make the supps a part of your daily routine. Get some exercise. Make a plan and stick to it. You can make this work. Everyone here will help.

Are there supps for moderating? I have done the AF for a month, but it seems that when I allow myself to drink, I cannot contorl it. One turns into 2, 3, 4 until I don't remember. Has anyone has success in moderating?

I too feel like the biggest loser and guilty about my usual stupid behavior.
