        I will not drink today because that's who I am now.
        No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

            It is good to have too much to lose, Jane. I'm not going to drink today because there is not one good reason to do so and many reasons not to.

              Alcohol will hit you bad but you can always turn your back
              Alcohol can bring a lot of misery but there is a solution because it's not a mystery
              Alcohol will give you pleasure but in the future it will give you pain that you cannot treasure

                      I WILL NOT DRINK TODAY ....
                      Because as bad as things are in my workplace today ...... they would be a THOUSAND times worse if I were not clear headed with even a mild hungover ....
                      or had a hangover tomorrow because I NEEDED a drink tonight !!

                      I do not need alcohol to deal with the issues I am having - I can do it by myself thanks ......:thumbsup:

                            Making that Word doc was such a good idea, Satz! I linked an article in Spiritwolf's thread that explains why we so easily forget the bad stuff but can recall the pleasant parts pretty easily. Our minds sure can trick us!

                            I'm not going to drink today because I don't have any desire to and know that even if I did, there would never be "enough".
