    My 1st official mod night

Well, I did my 31 day and decided last night to have a glass of wine. It was, after all, the beginning of the Easter break and I had always said that I would return to moderate drinking after meeting my 30 day target. It wasn't even that I was craving a drink.

So, I opened a bottle of red and nothing has changed. I downed the lot, got nicely buzzed and passed out on the settee. Woke up at 3am. Just like the bad old days! Even worse, I have had a headache hangover ALL day. A bottle didn't use to do this to me!

Guess I'm going to have to write my rules down and stick to them or face starting another 30 days AF! The only good thing is that I am now remembering exactly why I need to get this under control.

To all those who wrote that being AF is easier than modding...it's so true. One drink and my good intentions and resolve fly out the window.
If alcohol made you happy I should be the happiest person alive! I'm not.

      Blue Sky!!!

I'm sorry your first flight was such a disaster!!!
*Yes...a plan and some rules are necessary.
*Modding ain't easy...how bad do you really want it???
*It's a process; trial and error.

I find that after a good amount of abstinence time and when I drink - I drink just as much as before and feel ROTTEN the next day. Always the same. The hangovers get worse and worse for me. I have no self control.... none! I can't drink and have one.... I have to drink the whole freakin' bottle.

I do this every few months. Or lately every few weeks. Do you think I will learn? I swear that I have Oppositional Defiance Disorder. I can accept that I have a problem with alcohol but do you think I can accept that I should never drink? LOL.

It took me about six months of trial and errors before I figured out a very moderate level that works for me. During the six months I drank multiple times per week, I never felt really in control, but now I do, unless I drink multiple times during a week. That happened last weekend, when I attended an out of town wedding. Now, I'm back on track. You would be wise to read all the moderation threads if you plan to stay on the moderation course.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Sorry you are having a bad go of it today. I am also off a long AF streak and have been trying to Mod lately. Have had a few successful days, have had quite a few uncessful days.

I have started putting a note on what I am drinking of my original plan. Because once I start, the little voice always says...one more wont hurt. So my friendly reminder to myself does just that. Remind me if I want to drink, it HAS TO BE IN MODERATION.

            Best wishes:l

              Cori...

              Go to the "Long Term Moderators" Forum and under "Moderation Rules";
              post your PLAN.
That is so you actually HAVE a moderation plan,
              you can look at it
and we can look at it.
              Good Luck!
